Chapter 5: Never Miss a Beat

Russle was running from Penny's attacks as he hid behind a rock with sky. Ciel checks the time as she tells Penny to finish the fight. Penny drew her swords out and attaches them to the rocks. Penny raises her arms and lifts the rocks up with the swords, picking Sky and Russle up with them. Russle and Sky were both in the air.

"Ahhhh!" Russle screams as they were being lifted into the air. Penny throws the rocks down and knocks them out, defeating them. The match was over.

"And victory goes to Penny and Ciel of Atlas!" Oobleck said. "Thank you for a wonderful time," Penny said. "Wow, how does she do that?" Cream said. "Amazing, huh?" Tails said. "It is." Cream said. Ruby runs towards Penny. Sonic runs after her.

"Ruby wait up!" Sonic called. Scourge grabs Sonic by the arm. "Where are you going?" Scourge asks angrily. "I-I just wanna talk to Penny and Ruby for a minute." Sonic said nervously. "Fine. But be back in five minutes." Scourge said. "Yes, Master," Sonic said. Sonic goes with Ruby to catch up.

"Can I go with Mom too, Miss. Fiona?" I asked. "If it's okay with Scourge," Fiona said. "Master?" I asked. "Yeah, fine." Scourge said. "You better hurry Lana. We have our match soon." Weiss said. "I know Mother," I said. I followed Ruby and Sonic toward Penny.

"Hi, Mommy," I said. "Oh, hey Lana," Ruby said. "Penny!" Ruby and I shouted. Penny turns to look at us. She smiled happily when she saw us.

"Ruby! Lana! Sonic!" Penny said happily. Penny jumps on all three of us.

"Why..." Ruby groaned. "Owie," I whined. "Can you please... Get off of us?" Sonic said. Penny gets off of us and Sonic helps me up.

"Ruby, Lana, Sonic, this is my teammate," Penny said. "Ciel Soleil," Ciel said. "Hi," I said. "Hi, I'm-" Ruby started but was cut off by Ciel. "Ruby Rose, 15. Hails from patch. Leader of team RWBY. Status: Questionable." Ciel said. "Right... Anyways, this is my- or our daughter Lana." Ruby said. "Hi," I said. Ciel just smiles at me.

"So... Penny! You two were incredible out there! How do you keep control of all those swords? It's so cool!" Ruby said. "I know, and your fighting is awesome!" I said. "Penny, I think it's best if we move on to our next location," Ciel said. "Could we have just a minute to talk?" Penny asks. Ciel nods and steps away from us.

"So is she... your friend or...?" Ruby said. "Well, in a way. She's like Blake. But if Blake was ordered to spend time with you." Penny said. "Wow, really?" Sonic said. "Oh! So Weiss?" Ruby said. "Precisely!" Penny said. "Does she know about... Beep boop bop does not compute?" Ruby said and swung her arm around slowly. "Yeah, does she know about that?" I asked Penny. "Oh no! I don't think General Ironwood doesn't really want anyone to know. There was an incident with a magnet. But I was able to play it off." Penny said. "Oh," I said.

*Flashback*

Penny and Ciel were in the fairgrounds as Penny was wearing a hat. There was a piece of robot part on her hair as the hat was about to fly away but she quickly puts the hat back on.

*End of Flashback*

Sonic, Ruby, and I laughed with Penny. "Ruby, there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about. I want to stay at Beacon." Penny said. Ruby looked concerned. "Penny they'll never let you do that," Ruby said. "I know. But I have a plan." Penny said with determination. "If you want to stay at Beacon, then do it. Just because of your beep boop doesn't mean they can force you around to do stuff." Sonic said. "Thanks, Sonic," Penny said.

"It's been precisely one minute, Ma'am," Ciel said. "I'll talk to you more soon, everybody," Penny said as she left. "See ya later," Sonic said. "Bye Penny!" I called. "Our next match begins in 15 minutes." Professor Port said. "Oh my gosh that's right it's time for-" Ruby started. "Lana!" I heard a voice call. My other parents, Weiss and Yang walked up to me.

"We gotta go out onto the stage now," Yang said. "Okay Mom, I gotta pee first," I said. "Okay but hurry back," Weiss said. "Watch me in the battle Mommy, Mom," I said. "Of course!" Ruby said and gives me a big hug. "Good luck, Lana," Sonic said. "Thanks, Mom," I said. I quickly ran to the bathroom to do my business. After I finished up in the bathroom, I took off and flew towards the stage. People cheered when they saw me flying in the sky. I landed next to Weiss and Yang.

"Show off," Weiss said with a scoff. "What?" I said and shrugged my shoulders. "You can do it, Lana!" I heard Rouge call from the stage. I smiled and waved at her.

"Welp, now it's our turn," Yang said. "Just remember to keep proper form," Weiss said. "Alright. You're from Atlas, what can we expect?" Yang said. "Well, seeing as their kingdom, academy, and armed forces are all merged as one, I think we can expect strict, militant fighters with advanced technology and carefully rehearsed strategies," Weiss said. A girl with rollerblades and a rainbow trailing behind her back entered the battlefield.

"Woah!" I cried. "Or... Whatever they are?" Weiss said. "Hey! You're Weiss Schnee, right? The heiress." Flynt said. "I am!" Weiss said proudly. "I take it your pretty good with Dust then," Flynt said. "I do my best," Weiss said. "Yeah! My dad was good too. Owned a little dust shop of his own. Until your father's company ran him out of business." Flynt said. "Oh! I'm sorry to hear that." Weiss said. "Sure, you are," Flynt said with an eye roll. "Hey, don't get mad at my mother! It wasn't her fault." I said. "Sweetheart, you don't need to engage with this," Weiss said. "Wait, this girl is... your daughter?" Flynt said. "Uhh, yeah," Weiss said.

"Hey, why don't you-" Yang started but was cut off by Neon. "Hey, why don't you? That's what you sound like!" Neon said. "Uh..." Yang said. "Hey! Where did you get your hair extensions?" Neon asked. "Uh, this is just my normal hair," Yang said. "Ooh, really?" Neon said. "Yeah, is that a probl-"

"You should try rollerblading sometime! It's super fun! It'd probably take you a while though since your so, you know... top-heavy." Neon said. "Excuse me?!" Yang shouted angrily. "Uh-oh," I said. "Oh, here we go," Ruby said and rolled her eyes. Yang has a temper and whenever you piss her off, things do not go well. The randomizers began scrolling and the stage changed. The first was steam. The second was city. The third was fire, and the fourth was sand. We all got in our battle stances and drew out our weapons.

"Three... Two... One..." Professor Port said. "Begin!" Professor Port shouted. I covered myself with my shield as Flynt blows on his trumpet, making music and creating sound waves. Weiss creates a glyph under her feet as Yang and I were being pushed back by the soundwaves. Neon punched us as we landed on the ground.

Weiss smirked and prepared to fight Flynt. Weiss creates a black glyph and shoots herself towards Flynt as he blew his trumpet again and makes more sound waves. Weiss holds herself on the ground with a black glyph and tries to push herself to Flint but to her surprise, Flynt stops blowing on his trumpet, and she falls forward.

"Waaah!" Weiss cries as she was kicked by Flynt and falls to the ground. Flynt chuckled and walked towards Weiss.

Meanwhile, Yang and I were chasing Neon as she was running on her rollerblades. Yang shoots at Neon with her bullets and I tried to shoot at her with my thunderbolts. Neon jumps onto a railing. I stopped my thunderbolts and blew ice onto the railing to make her trip but somehow, she was still able to keep control. Neon spat at Yang and I. Yang growled.

"Oh yeah? Well, take this 'L'!" I shouted and gave her the loser sign. "That's right Lana, you show her!" Amy shouted. Neon jumps up and continues rollerblading on the ground. Yang tries to shoot at her as Neon dodges the bullets. I flew towards her and gave a battle cry, kicking her in the back. She was able to get back up and slides on a railing. She glides down a ramp and dodges a bullet. I slashed my sword at Neon, but she blocks it with her nun chucks. Neon hits me and I fall to the ground.

Neon hits her nun chucks at Yang as well. I got back up. Neon repeatedly hit Yang and I over and over again. Yang changes her bullets and I drew my sword out again. Neon smirks and charges up her nun chucks.

"Oh, it's on," I said. Neon charges at us and hits Yang with the nun chucks. Neon froze Yang's foot. I was gonna attack Neon with my sword but she pushed my sword out my hand and froze my hand with her nun chucks. Neon giggled.

"Look, now your bottom-heavy too." Neon said and slaps her butt. Yang growls and slams her foot on the ground, breaking the ice. I used some of my fire and melted the ice on my hand, and retrieved my weapons. Neon attacks Yang and freezes her hand this time. Neon pushes my weapons out of my hand again and froze my right hand this time, as well as my foot. Neon slides on a railing and ducks under a bridge. Neon goes under another bridge and then sprints toward Yang. Neon kicked Yang. Yang was pushed back and slammed into a wall.

"Mom!" I cried. Neon charged at me next. I tried to punch her with my free hand, but Neon also kicked me hard, causing me to slam into the wall next to Yang.

"You should cool off. Get it? Because you're angry." Neon said. Yang growled and slammed her hand into the wall, causing the ice to break. I melted the ice with my fire and retrieved my weapons again. Yang and I charged toward Neon to attack her.

Weiss draws out her weapon and prepares to fight Flynt again. Weiss creates four glyphs and begins spinning around. Weiss shoots ice at Flynt but Flynt uses his trumpet and shoots the fire as it burns the ice.

"Too bad all that money can't buy you skill," Flynt said. Weiss gets angry as she blows new dust towards Flynt, but Flint blocks it with his sound waves from the trumpet. Weiss creates glyphs around Flint and teleports to each one of them, hitting Flynt constantly. Flynt then uses his semblance, making four of himself with different colors, making a synchronized attack hitting Weiss.

"Woah!" Jaune cried. "What's this?" Professor Port asked. "It appears young Flynt has just activated his semblance and quite remarkable one at that. Ladies and Gentlemen, feist your eyes on Flynt Coal's... Killer Quartet!" Oobleck said. Flynt's clones vanished and walked up to Weiss.

Yang and I continued to chase Neon. I was getting pissed, so was Yang. Yang had red eyes, meaning she was angry.

"Ooh! Flashy eyes! You know you're actually kind of pretty when you're angry." Neon said. "Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!" Yang yelled and charged at Neon. I jumped up and flew towards Neon as well.

Weiss tries to get her sword but Flynt steps on it. Weiss looks towards our direction.

"Get back here!" Yang yelled. "This can't go on forever, you know!" I shouted. I gave a battle cry and slashed my sword at Neon. Neon blocked my move with her nun chucks and threw my sword to the ground.

"Ugh," I grunted. "I wasn't trying to say you should go on a diet! I was saying you really need to go on a diet!" Neon shouted. "Don't talk about my girlfriend like that!" I yelled. "THAT'S IT!" Yang roared. "Your fat." Neon said and smirked. "Fuck you!" I yelled. I grabbed my lasso and wrapped it around Neon's leg. I pulled my lasso foward and knocked Neon to the ground.

"Get her, Mom!" I shouted. Yang gave a battle cry and punched Neon a few times. I charged toward Neon and hit her with my lasso. Flynt turns around and goes for a sneaky attack on Yang and I with his clones. Flynt was about to hit us.

"No!" Weiss screamed. Weiss charges toward Flynt and the fire gets both of them.

"What?" Yang said and turned around. "Mother!" I screamed. "Weiss!" Blake, Tails, and Ruby shouted. "It appears we have a double knockout on our hands!" Professor Port said. "In fact it looks as though Miss. Schnee's aura has completely depleted. She sacrificed herself to take out Flynt. Wait a minute... What's this?" Oobleck said. Flynt stood up. "Ladies and Gentlemen, Flynt Coal remains standing!" Professor port shouted.

"You did it Flynt! Don't worry about them, they're easy! But kind of annoying!" Neon said. Yang's eyes grew red as she was getting angry. I was getting angry as well. Angry dark clouds appeared from above me, with thunder rumbling.

"Ooh, looks like Yang and Lana are angry! And you wouldn't like them when they're... upset." Professor Port said. Yang and I screamed angrily and slammed our feet on the ground. Fire burst up in the air as Yang began shooting bullets at them. I began shooting my lightning at them as well.

"Yo, Neon go!" Flynt cried. Flynt blows his trumpet and creates sound waves. I held onto Yang as we tried to get through the sound waves. Yang shoots a bullet, giving her a boost, and punches at Neon. I let go of Yang and slammed my sword on the ground to hold myself. Yang continues to punch at Neon as I continued to try to make my way through the sound waves that were blowing at me. Yang flies up in the air and punches at Neon. Neon dodges the bullets. I threw my shield at Flynt to try to stop him but he knocked it out of the way. Neon rolled away on her rollerblades.

Yang lands on the ground and charges toward Flynt. I also charge towards Flynt. Yang grabs my hand and boosts us up in the sky by shooting a bullet. I held onto Yang as she shoots bullets, giving her boosts to get through the sound waves. Yang covers up Flynt's trumpet with her hands and I also covered up the trumpet as well. Yang shoots back the sound waves toward Flynt, knocking him out.

"Ooh, sour note for Flynt!" Oobleck said. Yang and I slid back. Now it was just Neon that we needed to take care of. This should be easy. Neon continued to roll on her blades.

"Never miss a beat, never miss a beat. Never... miss a..." Neon started. Neon tripped on the rocks. "Beat?" Neon said. Neon rolled over on the ground. Steam of water shoots Neon up into the air.

"Let's do this together!" Yang said. I nodded. Yang shoots a bullet at Neon and I shot my thunderbolt at Neon. Neon screams as she was shot by the bullet. The buzzer sounded and the match was over. Yang and I won.

"Yes!" I cried and jumped up in the air. Yang high-fived me.

"You did great Lana," Yang said. "So did you, you were amazing," I said and kissed Yang. "Aww..." Yang said and blushed. "We should go check on Mother," I said. Yang gasped when I said that. "Weiss!" Yang cried and ran up to her. I followed Yang and ran up to Weiss.

"Weiss! Are you okay?" Yang asked. "Are you okay Mother?" I asked. Weiss coughed. "I may not be singing for a while," Weiss said. "Aw, so no more bedtime songs for me?" I said. "Very funny," Weiss said. I laughed. Yang smiled. "You know, I'm not sure that was the proper form," Yang said. "Oh, ha-ha," Weiss said but began coughing again.

"What?! We lost?! Team FNKI lost?! That was... That was... Amazing! Oh my gosh, you guys were super crazy awesome! We should definitely party together sometime! Right, Flynt?" Neon said. "That was a gutsy move Schnee... I dig it." Flynt said. Ruby, Blake, Rouge, Dash, and Emily ran up to us.

"Good job you three!" Blake said. "Thanks, Mom," I said. "Yeah!" Ruby said. "You were amazing sis!" Dash said. "Thanks, bro," I said. "You did great. Dad was also impressed." Emily said. "He was?" I said. "Mmm-hm," Emily said. I smiled. Rouge kissed me.

"You don't need to worry about what he thinks. I love you no matter what." Rouge said. "I love you too," I said. Rouge and I kissed again. "Can you two stop with the smooching?" Dash said. Rouge and I laughed.

*In Cinder's Dorm, no POV*

Cinder was scrolling through on her scroll until she came across something interesting. "Oh!" Cinder said with interest. "What?" Emerald asked. "Oh, nothing! We're just going to make a slight, hmm... alternation to the plan." Cinder said. Emerald and Mercury looked at each other.

"What does that mean?" Mercury asks. "It means that this will be even easier than we thought." Cinder said.

*In Ozpin's office, no POV*

Qrow comes into the office, from the elevator. "You know he's making you look like a fool," Qrow said. "His heart is in the right place. He's just... misguided." Ozpin said. "Sometimes, I'm not sure he has a heart. So, have you chosen your guardian yet?" Qrow asked.

"Maidens choose themselves. I simply believe I found the right candidate. Ever since the day I met her, I had a feeling she would be the one. She's strong, intelligent, and caring. But most importantly... She's ready."

Pyrrha steps into the elevator with a determined smile.
