Alright, next episode.
It had taken them a while, but Tyron and Savage managed to get Maul on the ship. From there they made their way to Dathomir. Needless to say, Tyron was getting annoyed with Maul's ramblings. He hoped once they got him to Mother Talzin she could fix him. He didn't need a rambling idiot training him, he needed a true lord of the Sith.
"Patience brother. We're almost home." Savage said.
"Well, he's at least safe back there. There's nothing of value on this ship, so he can break whatever he wants." Tyron said. They landed on Dathomir, but there was something off about the planet. It was darker than before. A strange thing to note, but it looked like a ghost. There was nothing there.
"Brother." Savage called out to Maul.
"Kenobi, Kenobi." Maul rambled.
"Brother, we have to go." Savage said. But Maul pushed the crates in front of him as if to box himself in. "Fine, stay there."
"Mother Talzin better fix him. He's no use to either of us in this state." Tyron said.
"She will." Savage said.
"Forgive me if I am doubtful." Tyron said. They exited the ship and felt that emptiness on the planet. Something had happened here. Just then a green mist formed around them. It formed into Mother Talzin.
"Savage. Tyron." Mother Talzin greeted,
"Mother." Savage said, kneeling.
"Mother Talzin." Tyron said bowing his head in respect.
"Shall we?" Talzin said gesturing to the ship.
"What happened here? Where are the rest of the sisters?" Savage asked.
"Yes, it used to be brighter here. If anything was bright to begin with." Tyron commented.
"Dooku sent his minions to destroy us." Talzin explained.
"I am sorry about that. It was my fault he came here." Tyron said, genuinely sorry.
"Do not blame yourself, young Tyron. Dooku's actions were his own. You had nothing to do with his armies. But we will survive. We always have." Talzin said, lifting a bit of weight off of Tyron. Just then Maul's screaming came from the ship. "You found him? I knew you would."
"Well, we did find him, but something is wrong with him. He keeps on rambling about the Jedi and everything. He doesn't remember much of his old life." Tyron explained.
"But he does remember something? Hmm?" Talzin asked.
"Well, yes, the name Kenobi came up a few times. If I recall correctly, that's how Maul was killed on Naboo." Tyron said. They made their way to the ship where Maul was hiding behind the boxes.
"Come, let us fix what has been broken." Talzin said making a ball of green energy toward Maul, who followed it like a firefly to the flame. "Come to me. Come to me. Follow us, Son of Dathomir." She led them to their temple area where she had Maul lay on an altar of sorts. When she tapped his forehead he dropped to the table where his legs and the other half of his body fell off. It was clear he used the Force to keep himself in that state.
"Now what happens?" Tyron asked.
"Now we begin." Talzin said.
She began chanting some kind of ancient spell. Using her magic she pulled out some of the madness within Maul. It looked like ghosts were inside him. Now with that out of the way, the magic formed around Maul's body. It shortened his horns to his original state. Talzin used the remains of the droid battle to make new legs for Maul. It was almost the same, spiderlike legs, though not as crude as his other legs. The black veins in Maul's body disappeared, making him almost shiny in comparison. Then she produced fire to make the legs into a smooth metallic shape. Maul screamed in pain as a result. It looked like the ceremony was over.
"Arise Maul. Reborn Son of Dathomir." Talzin said tapping his forehead. This woke him up.
"Brother?" Savage asked. Maul simply gripped Savage's face, almost as if he didn't recognize him, but then he did.
"Brother." Maul growled. He then saw Tyron come forward and grabbed his face as well. "You. I sense something familiar in you. Ah, I know where you come from." Tyron didn't say a word but prepared for the inevitable.
"Brother, he helped me find you. He is my friend." Savage said. Maul contemplated for a moment before letting him go. Tyron's fears were sated, for now. Mother Talzin then disappeared, leaving the three Sith warriors alone.
"My…my legs." Maul said examining them.
"They have been restored by Mother Talzin." Savage said.
"It has been so long, and my path has been so dark, darker than I ever dreamed it could be." Maul said examining his legs and trying to stand up. It took a second before he got used to it.
"But you survived." Tyron said.
"Of course I survived." Maul said, running out into the open. Tyron had to try and keep up, given that Savage was taller than him and Maul had longer legs. Maul stopped after a bit and let out a yell. "My hatred kept my spirit intact even though my body was not. Yet I was lost and became a rabid animal, and such is how you and your friend found me brother: discarded, forgotten. I have missed so much. The Force feels out of balance."
"Yes, there is conflict. The Clone Wars." Tyron said.
"Ah, yes, so it began, without me." Maul said.
"There is something I should mention. Your master has replaced you with my old master Count Dooku. He is the one leading on the Separatists side of the conflict." Tyron said.
"And what happened with your old master? Did he die in the conflict? Is that why you sought me out?" Maul asked.
"He still lives, he planned to use Savage as a pawn and to kill me. I thought to seek out one who has a better connection to the dark side. A true Sith Lord if you will." Tyron said. Maul laughed at that.
"You are rather intriguing my boy." Maul said. "But yes, you are right to seek me out. But now what do we do?" Maul asked.
"You can begin again, brother." Savage said, handing him the one half of his lightsaber that survived Naboo. Maul used the Force to grab it from his hand.
"I was apprentice to the most powerful being in the galaxy once. I was destined to become so much more. But I was robbed of that destiny by the Jedi, by Obi-Wan Kenobi." Maul said.
"We have a common enemy in Kenobi. He took everything from me. If you want your destiny, we must have revenge." Tyron said.
"Yes, we shall start with revenge." Maul said.
They arrived at the planet, Raydonia where they came to a small village. There were children arriving, thinking they were Jedi. Tyron didn't like where this may lead, but he would not kill civilians, warriors defending the land maybe, but not unarmed peasants.
"Brother? What are we doing here? The Jedi won't be this far in the galaxy." Savage commented.
"In a galaxy at war Savage, there is only one way to get the attention of the Jedi… slaughter of the innocent, mercilessly and without compromise." Maul said igniting his blade.
The only people that Tyron killed were the fighters that were there, which were few. He allowed Maul and Savage to kill the rest, though he didn't like it. But it was to lure Kenobi in. Maul killed him. No Kenobi did. He did nothing. He killed him as much as Maul did. But Maul kills innocents. So did you. Tyron put those thoughts aside as he watched Maul with a group of civilians lined up.
"There will be more innocent blood on your hands Kenobi unless you come here! Face me! Come alone and if you do not, this world will burn!" Maul said slicing off the heads of the people there.
They waited for Kenobi to show up. Soon enough Kenobi arrived at Raydonia, alone as predicted. Tyron was hiding with Savage waiting for a dramatic entrance. Maul was in top of the burning wreckage of the city.
"Jedi! I have been waiting for you." Maul said.
"I'm not sure I've made your acquaintance." Kenobi said. Tyron knew what he was doing, he wanted to make sure this was the same Darth Maul as before.
"I am surprised you could have forgotten me so easily after I killed your master, and you left me for dead on Naboo!" Maul said. You see? He admits it. No, Kenobi killed him. He's responsible! Tyron's thoughts were swimming.
"It is you." Kenobi realized.
"You may have forgotten me, but I will never forget you. You cannot imagine the depths I would go to stay alive, fueled by my singular hatred for you." Maul growled.
"That may be so, but I defeated you before and I can defeat you again." Kenobi said igniting his blade. Maul chuckled at that.
"Don't be so certain." Maul said. Just then Tyron and Savage got behind him.
"You? And Tyron?" Kenobi said shocked.
"Hello there, Kenobi!" Tyron exclaimed.
The fight began and needless to say, Kenobi was outmatched by the three Sith warriors who promptly beat him until, he was unconscious. They carried him into their ship to deal with him. Once he woke up they then began to beat him. All except Tyron who was getting more annoyed than he was satisfied.
"Still as weak as ever." Maul said backhanding Kenobi. Savage threw him across the room. "And they call you Master." He mocked.
"You know, when I cut you in half, I should have aimed for your neck instead." Kenobi said. Tyron laughed at that. Maul signaled for Savage to start the ship, but not before another got on board.
"Anything more to say?" Maul sneered.
"I like your new legs; they make you look taller." Kenobi joked. Maul didn't appreciate that and pulled Kenobi to meet his face igniting his blade.
"I will make sure you stay awake long enough to feel every single cut. Your death will be beyond excruciating. You will suffer, as I have suffered." Maul said.
"So do it already. I'm beginning to get bored by all this." Tyron said to Maul's annoyance. Savage entered back into the room, as well as someone Tyron didn't think he'd see again.
"What a surprise." Ventress said from above them. "My former servant, still an animal. And my old friend Tyron, still as annoying as he was last time I saw him."
"Oh, you know you missed me Ventress. You just wanted to have a little fun with me one last time." Tyron said.
"And you both brought a friend." Ventress noted to Maul.
"My brother." Savage said.
"A brother? Looks like he's half the man you are Savage." Ventress gloated. "How unfortunate, I was looking for a challenge. Not some wretched castoffs from the Nightbrothers clan. What a disappointment." Ventress said cackling and disappearing.
"Who is this brother?" Maul asked.
"A Dathomir witch. She betrayed me." Savage said.
"She was also Dooku's other apprentice, and we didn't like each other that much." Tyron added.
"She knows too much, destroy her." Maul said knocking Kenobi out and all three making their way to the pilot's seat. Later on they came back to discover it was all a trick and Ventress and Kenobi decided to join forces. The enemy of my enemy and all that.
"The witch and the Jedi." Savage said from one side.
"Here for our taking." Maul said from another side.
"It's useless to resist." Tyron said from another side. Ventress handed one of her lightsabers to Kenobi.
"I want that back." Ventress warned.
"That's fine. Red's not my color." Kenobi said igniting the red blade. Ventress ignited her other blade. "Ready?"
"Like you even have to ask." Ventress said.
The fight began. Kenobi was facing Maul alone while Tyron and Savage faced Ventress. They fought for a while with Kenobi and Ventress switching from opponents. First Kenobi and Maul. Ventress and Savage. Kenobi and Savage. Ventress and Tyron. Ventress and Maul and finally Tyron and Kenobi.
"Just like old times isn't it Ventress?" Tyron asked her.
"Yes it is. I was trying to kill you even then, brat!" Ventress shouted.
"I noticed." Tyron said.
Savage had managed to disarm Ventress, but she had been quick on her feet and began engaging them in Force and hand to hand combat, which was getting annoying for Tyron.
"Ventress! Catch!" Kenobi shouted when he got his lightsaber back from Maul. She grabbed her other one and engaged both Tyron and Savage. Eventually they surrounded the pair.
"We're outmatched." Kenobi noted.
"You want to run?" Ventress asked.
"I learned from watching you." Kenobi pointed out.
"Funny." Ventress said sarcastic. "The cockpit?"
"Now!" Kenobi said. Maul jumped down from where he was and engaged Ventress while Tyron and Savage faced Kenobi.
"Oh no! You're not getting away! You need to pay for what you did!" Tyron yelled.
"I need to understand it before I pay it!" Kenobi shouted. Tyron dealt out some blows to him, but Kenobi merely deflected them. He made his way to one of the cockpits. "Come on! Come on!" Kenobi shouted to Ventress who did a few backflips before jumping into the air. Kenobi lifted her up higher to get past Savage. When she landed she Force pushed Savage only for Maul to leap like a tiger at its prey. Ventress quickly got up and got to the cockpit, closing the door but not before Maul and Savage began cutting a hole in it with their lightsabers. Just when they were ready to cut the door open, the cockpit released and separated form the ship, leaving a hole into space. Maul pushed a button to put up a force field for the empty door. He, Tyron, and Savage looked out, seeing their revenge go out again. They later went to the other cockpit.
"What now brother? Do we go after them?" Savage asked.
"No. We will be patient Savage." Maul said sitting down.
"Patience. Ha, that's more of a Jedi thing don't you think?" Tyron commented.
"It is, Tyron. But I've waited so many years for my revenge. I can wait a little longer." Maul said.
"I can honestly agree with that. I can wait for revenge myself. It will get here eventually." Tyron said.
"But the Jedi will know that you have survived. They will be coming for us." Savage warned. Tyron could see the look in Maul's eyes and grinned evilly.
"I am counting on it." Maul said.
And there we have it, the first official episode of Darth Maul's return. I felt that last episode was just a way to reintroduce him back to the story, but this this time he officially came back.
