A/N: I do not own Pokemon, all rights belong to the Pokemon Company/Nintendo/Game Freak etc. Welcome to the finale of this part of this original adventure. There will be a sequel but I am going to take some time away from writing about this world. Yes I took some inspiration from other similar events. I may do a one shot here or there because well some of them in my head are good or just easier to get out of my head.
Ash, when he was able to get healed up and felt able to walk about a week and a half later, was happy to finally be leaving the hospital in Celadon City. Misty and Skye accompanied him out of the hospital then outside the doors he was able to get up from the wheelchair that the hospital required him to be in till he was out their doors. Pikachu and Charizard were standing at the doorway with Charlie and August looking excited to see him. Lance and Iris had gone back to their respective headquarters a few days ago. Informing Ash before they left that Domino still wasn't talking about anything. "What do you want to do first, Pokemon master?" Charlie asked.
"I am going to try and see if I can get anything out of Domino." Ash said, now walking towards the police station. Misty looked at him a little surprised.
"Ash, are you sure you can face her right now?" Misty asked.
Skye looked at her father with concern on her face. "I need to face her now, or I will lose my nerve to confront her." Ash said back, not missing a beat.
August just said, "I am with you Ash."
"So am I." Charlie spoke up. Pikachu said, "PIka, pika."
"I am with you dad." Skye said.
"After this I am taking you home, got it?" Misty said. Ash just nodded, not losing his focus. Officer Jenny at the station was a little surprised when she saw Ash step into her precinct. "Can I please speak with Domino?" Ash asked.
"Sure she is in lockup but won't speak, I can give you 5 minutes." Officer Jenny responded. She led Ash to the lockup and the rest of the group stayed outside as Ash stood there seeing Domino still in her disguise behind bars.
"I know you don't believe we met before you captured me, but know one thing you will be treated with dignity unlike how you and Giovanni treated me and my Pokemon." Ash said.
Looking up Domino met his eyes with only hatred and venom in her violent eyes. "Magnanimous of you, does that wife and daughter know how we broke you?" She retorted.
Ash smirked slightly, leaning his face closer to lockup and noting Domino had cuffs on along with ankle braces attached to the floor with just enough line to reach a toilet behind a wall. "Despite breaking me, I am still here standing, no longer afraid of you or him." Ash said with swagger somewhat similar to his 10 year old self, going to compete at Indigo.
"You should be, you have no idea what he is planning." Domino said.
"You think that scares me?" Ash responded, "You got to realize one thing, Domino, you are going to spend the rest of your life here in prison."
"What, could I possibly need to realize?" Domino sardonically asked.
"Giovanni isn't going to break you out, so as of this moment I am the closest thing you have for a friend." Ash said leaving the lockup. Misty and Skye were looking at the camera and couldn't believe the calm Ash showed.
When they left they all headed to Cerulean City, ready to settle back down into the gym routine. Delia, Professor Oak, and Brock were there waiting for Ash, Misty, and Skye. Along with Tracey, Daisy, Violet, and Lily. Delia was babying Ash a bit due to him needing time in the hospital. Skye merely laughed at times seeing it. Charlie just looked over at Skye noticing how happy she looked back home.
Over the next few months everyone was pitching in on helping Ash and Misty's wedding come together. It took a bit of a debate but Ash insisted they get married at Professor Oak's lab. Daisy, Violet, and Lily, were going all out from contacting the food vendor, helping coordinate with Professor Oak for the wedding. Skye and Delia were using this opportunity to plan all the details together with Misty, while Ash spent most of the time sampling different cakes. The plan was very simple in some ways, there was no coverage, Jessie and James agreed that though they were invited they were not to take pics on their phones or discuss intimate details on their radio show. Ash was to sleep over at Oak's Lab with the rest of the groomsmen while Misty, Skye and the rest of the bridesmaids got ready at Delia's house.
Ash woke up late as per usual on important days, not unlike his very first day as a Pokemon trainer. Professor Oak threw a pillow at him while Gary was busy showering. "What was that for Professor?" Ash asked.
"To make sure you wake up at a good hour on the most important day of your life so far." Professor Oak said laughing.
"So far?" Ash questioned, getting up from his bed.
"He means future children." Gary shouted walking out of the shower holding a towel around his waist. "There is no way Red is going to let you miss another child birth if possible."
"You know she hates that nickname." Ash retorted.
Brock came in with Tracey already dressed in their tuxes, which were black pants, with a blue vest that matched Ash's vest color when he became monarch over Leon. The ties were black and the jackets were white. The collared shirt was also white. "Why are you guys ready so early?" Ash asked, still yawning.
"This way we don't have to worry about it later," Goh said, walking in dressed up just like Brock and Tracey.
At that Ash said, "I get it guys I will go get showered and ready."
Down at Delia's house they were buzzing with activity. Daisy was making sure last minute details with the food were taken care of. Delia was making sure the flower arrangements were precise with Skye who was still wearing her pajamas to help her grandmother. Delia was already in her dress and as she finished the bride's bouquet she began to let a few tears fall. "What's wrong?" Skye asked.
"Nothing, I am just happy this day is finally here, I just wish there were less grays in my hair." Delia jokes, wiping her eyes. Skye got up and hugged her from behind. Delia just patted her hands on Skye's hands letting her know she was ok. Misty came down in a robe seeing the scene before here and asked, "Everything ok…what happened?"
"Nothing Misty, don't worry your pretty face." Delia said, now coming up and hugging Misty, "Nothing is going to go wrong today unless Ash steps on your feet dancing."
"Ok." Misty said, "Actually I wanted to ask you if I could pick some of those white flowers in your garden?"
Delia just looked at Misty a little puzzled, "I would like to have them braided into my hair." Misty finished.
"Of course Misty," Delia responded.
"By the way what are those flowers called?" Misty asked.
"They are called kasumi." Delia responded, "They are a symbol of everlasting love."
"For real?" Misty questioned not fully believing her.
"For real Misty." Delia said as she opened the door and Misty walked out with her to pick out some of the kasumi she had growing in her garden.
Ash, after getting himself dressed, decided they should go and hang out in the part of the lab away from where the temporary shelter was built. Ash pulled out a set of clubs and began to hit a few balls. Leading to Gary saying, "You keep moving your head before you swing."
Gary then proceeded to show a few decent hits of the club before Tracey said, "Gary, you keep swinging too hard, you have to swing free and relaxed in order to hit farther." Proceeding to Tracey taking a few swings and proving his own point. Ash merely grabbed a beer noticing this was doing exactly what he wanted it to do which was distract them to worry about something else. Brock then had his own advice on how to golf. Goh even shocked them all by driving it further than Brock leading all to wonder, when did Goh start playing golf? Soon there was more than a few beers being tossed back as each of them took crazier swings trying to see how much power they could generate attempting Goh's unconventional swing with one hand. Professor Oak in his old age even tried a few and after the third one made his back sore he advised that all be careful in how hard they swung the club. Pikachu came out along with many of his Pokemon around Professor Oak's lab all trying to look as dapper as they could look. Charizard even put on a bowtie attempting to look better for the day.
Charlie and August were busy helping Professor Oak setup tables along with vendors because they felt they needed something to do to pass the time. "I can't believe its finally happening." Charlie said.
"Really," August replied, "I would think this is the easiest thing to see happen. After what you have seen."
Charlie rolled his eyes before saying, "I meant like we have come a long way from just being three kids trying to find Ash Ketchum to now being at his wedding and best friends with his daughter."
August kind of smirked thinking back on their first meeting, "Yeah we really have, though the two of you are…?"
"Still not a couple," Charlie said, "Besides I don't think she sees me that way, it was a moment that I think won't' happen again."
"Due to you or her?" August asked in all seriousness.
"Both." Charlie said, "Besides it doesn't really matter we are going to be splitting up for a bit anyways."
"You are right, my tribal elders have been very pleased with the building program, and thankful for your support." August said. "You still planning on being a Pokemon Master?"
"Yes, hopefully I can make it back and see you from time to time." Charlie said.
"Hey just make sure it isn't just for the funerals of my family members." August said, "Maybe I will come and see you while you are adventuring somewhere." August's Poliwhirl was helping carry glasses to different tables in the reception and dance area. "You know if you asked her, I think she would still travel with you."
Charlie smiled before saying, "That's not what I want, I want her to make her own path, and she seems very happy at the gym, her eyes really light up about it."
"Just don't go looking for Team Rocket's boss, ok?" August clarified.
"After seeing him so readily sacrifice Domino to almost certain death, I will definitely only call the pros to deal with him." Charlie said.
Skye meanwhile was getting into her slip pale blue bridesmaid dress, though hers had spaghetti straps on it, due to her mother's insistence. She looked at herself in the mirror and really felt she looked beautiful. Aunt Daisy came in ready to start doing up her hair in the bun they had planned.
"Did you three really think they would end up together back when they were 10?" Skye asked Daisy.
"Yes." Daisy said not missing a beat. "Despite how much they bickered about it just I don't know there was a vibe about your parents that was hard to miss."
"So one last dispute that neither of them can settle is if Ash really earned his Cascade Badge." Skye said.
"Oh, honey, your dad definitely didn't earn it for real at 10, we gave it to him because he saved the Gym from Team Rocket with Pikachu." Daisy said still fixing parts of Skye's hair that were being less cooperative. "Years later when he and your mom rematched, she used Gyarados against Pikachu, and your dad found a way to win that surprised your mom."
Skye looked at her aunt through the mirror like she was pulling her leg, "Pikachu beat Gyarados?"
"Yeah, he and Pikachu used a Z-move that was very similar to how they beat Steven Stone's Metagross." Daisy said, "So your dad did earn that one, now the Boulder Badge from Brock he still has yet to really earn."
"I will definitely keep that in mind." Skye smirked, enjoying this new information about her parents. Skye just looked in the mirror enjoying how her hair was looking and really feeling for the first time in a while that she was growing up. The nightmares had become far less frequent, starting with the apprehension of Domino. She didn't want to know about any information Ash had tried to garner with her. Ash merely told her rapport building is by far the best way to get information or intelligence from someone inside an organization like Team Rocket.
She asked him back then why Jessie, James, and Meowth, were not as helpful for stuff like that. Ash merely told her it was due to them being such low level grunts, that they didn't have anything except the main headquarters location. All they could do was dig around back when they were active members. Since they left, all he could use them for was to verify if things someone had claimed were actually how things were back then. So eventually he just used them to verify things they could know. Either way she would have never guessed, they were at one point always trying to nab Pikachu almost to an obsession.
Max, the once short younger brother of May arrived and found the groom and his entourage. Max had grown to be just slightly shorter than Ash, he still wore his glasses and his hair had been slicked back and styled for the occasion. "Well how goes the current Petalburg Gym leader?" Ash asked upon noticing him.
"At this point not much, but I am a little surprised you aren't freaking out waiting." Max retorted. Tracey and Goh sniggered at that.
"Jeez, you guys, is there a pool like for the proposal?" Ash asked. Brock looked away giving it away that there was a pool. Ash just rolled his eyes shaking his head. "Well sorry to disappoint but no one is collecting."
Tracey merely laughed and said, "There is also one on Misty." At that Ash laughed really hard causing the group to look at him.
"When Misty finds out she is going to murder everyone in the pool." Ash said finally calming down. Then they all turn their heads to the thundering sound coming from Oak's grass area. There was all of Ash's Tauros, along with the Pokemon he captured that stayed, there was Bayleaf, Snorlax, Donphan, Heracross, Kingler, Taillow, Staraptor, Talonflame, Infernape, and Bulbasaur. Ash was swarmed by them causing the groomsmen to worry what happened till they saw Ash standing up dusting himself off. "Thanks you guys." Ash said now petting all of them Bayleaf nuzzled him a bit affectionately.
"Nice to see after all this time somethings never change." A tall dark skinned man with red hair highlights in his jet black hair said in a dark red suit.
"Kiawe." Ash exclaimed as they embraced.
"I wasn't sure you could make it." Ash said.
"And what miss out on being right that you and Misty were more than just close." Kiawe teased.
"Was I seriously the last one to see what you all saw?" Ash asked. Looking at the group, then a particular blonde spoke up saying, "Possibly the very last after me."
Ash turned seeing Serena whom he embraced. "Glad this is the real you and not Domino…right?" Ash asked double checking nothing changed about Serena.
"For me I think I noticed when traveling in Kanto, I noticed some gym leader talking about Pokemon very similar to you." Serena teased. Kiawe on seeing her was a little stunned. Serena looking behind Ash saw him looking a little flushed. Ash noticed but chose this wasn't the most opportune moment to mention anything. Professor Oak found the group and said, "Guys it's almost time, people are really starting to fill in."
Delia and the rest of the bridal party were in the hallway of Professor Oak's lab looking at Misty who looked like she was both excited and ready to run all at the same time. "Are we sure there is nothing wrong with the dress or how I did my hair?" Misty asked.
"Misty," Daisy said gently touching her face to make her look at her to not mess up the makeup, "You look perfect, in fact so perfect all three of your sisters are wondering when you got hotter than us." Misty and her sisters laughed at the comment. "You are all grown up, you have been a terrific single mom, and today you get to marry the love of your life that you thought you buried." Misty let one tear fall at that comment though smiling, "You are going to live the rest of your life raising your daughter with him, and hopefully live a nice long life together."
Misty took a deep breath and said, "Ok, Starmie." Looking down at Starmie she said, "Go on ahead and get ready to make a low level layer of water down the aisle just like we practiced at the gym."
Ash quickly looked over the crowd that was sitting, he saw his mom come in and take her seat near the front with a thumbs up indicating everything was fine. He noticed all of his Alolan classmates had made it along with Kiawe. Professor Kikui was holding his youngest child trying to soothe her, while Professor Burnet and their son Lei who was now a teenager sat near the front. May and Drew were holding hands seated next to Max. Bonnie and Clement were seated with Serena. A 1st trimester pregnant Dawn was next to her husband Kenny. Iris and Cilan were also amongst the group, Todd had graciously offered his services to be the photographer and was getting a better angle. Pikachu came up the center aisle and hopped up onto Ash's shoulder and nuzzled Ash's face saying, "Pika." Causing a few awws and laughter. It was then Ash noticed his old rival Paul between Ritchie and Harrison, Casey was a few seats over also present in a yellow and black dress, clearly she had never let go of her Electabuzz baseball team fandom, above them for the briefest of moments he thought he saw Mewtwo standing on the roof of Professor Oak's Lab before it was gone. Ash thought in that moment that at least Giovanni and Domino didn't know he knew about their hunt for Mewtwo. It clicked briefly in Ash's head that he should tell Domino that fact next time he visited her in lockup, but then he heard the violins and guitar bringing his attention back to this moment. Double checking to make sure the singer was not Jigglypuff he let out a breath he had been holding, when he saw an up and coming Pallet Town singer start with:

Ash saw Skye come down the aisle in her bridesmaid dress and Ash almost cried realizing his daughter was almost a woman, and she reminded him of her mother and how proud he felt knowing she was just as strong as her. It was followed by Lily, Violet, and the matron of honor Daisy who winked at Tracey as she took her place on Misty's side of the temporary shelter. Brock merely put his hand on Ash's shoulder to let him know to breathe as he saw the water begin to run down the aisle, courtesy of Starmie.
Ash noticed Misty peek her head out before revealing herself in her wedding gown as everyone stood including Charlie and August who were leaning to try and see her. She was standing in a mermaid style with slight ruffles, that hugged her body. Misty's hair was back in a bun with some white flowers that looked familiar to Ash tied into it. Ash couldn't help but tear up seeing how beautiful she looked. Just as she revealed her barefoot that gently touched the very shallow water as she slowly walked down the aisle. He believed he saw her with tears in her eyes as she drew closer but with a huge smile. Ash barely registered everyone's eyes on her as she stepped up to the altar taking his hand. Ash barely contained himself as he kissed her hand causing Misty to blush and laugh.
The preacher went on some siloqui about how most couples take years to find each other, but that in this case they just took a long time to be a couple and even longer to be a family. "This is a culmination of many sacrifices and tribulations and the hope of all of us here, is to see them make it official for life in front of all their friends and family." The preacher said. The entire crowd laughed along with the couple. Getting to the vows, Misty started by saying, "Ash, I don't know why I pulled you and Pikachu out of the river all those years ago." Everyone laughed being very aware of how they met. "Some days after that moment, I wondered why am I still hanging around." Again some laughed including Ash who held her hand as she gathered herself. "Then day after day, I saw you change from blaming others for your shortcomings, to accepting responsibility and continuing to love your Pokemon unconditionally. Even Charizard when he lit you on fire." At that Charizard grunted while the rest of the audience laughed. "I used to wish someday, you would share some of that love with me, and I felt losing you for that time when…" Misty sniffed remembering how she felt. Ash pulled out from his pocket a handkerchief that had a red outline, with pink and a yellow sun on it. Misty dabbed her eyes while laughing saying, "God how do you still have this old handkerchief from when we were 12?" Brock snickered slightly, remembering when she gave it to him after Johto. The audience giggled as well, while a few women covered their mouths at the gesture including Delia. "Just a few years ago, I thought you were gone and that I would only be able to share the good and bad memories of you with our daughter alone, I am happy that despite the up and downs we took coming back into each other's life. I am still the one you want to spend the rest of your life with even though we are no longer the same crazy kids with big dreams. Ash I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you." Ash merely squeezed Misty's hands badly wishing he could kiss her.
Ash kind of hid his face for a second before saying, "Thanks Mist how am I supposed to follow that up?" The audience laughed. Charlie just sweatdropped in the audience wondering how Ash could even match Misty with vows. Taking a breath and holding Misty's hands Ash started, "I am sorry but I can barely stop staring at how gorgeous you look Misty." Some awed at the compliment, while Misty retorted with a smile, "Cut the sweet talk Ash, you owe me some vows." The audience again laughed at the exchange, Skye was trying not to gag at how flirty her parents were being.
"I know I wasn't always the easiest friend to be around. Even sometimes wondering why you still hung around." A few chuckles, "And though many thought we were a couple…even some in our wedding party and the audience gathered." At that more people chuckled. "I regret not realizing how I felt about you till we went our separate ways after Johto." Ash teared up slightly but took his breath saying, "I regret still taking longer to tell you as we grew older, and my biggest regret is not holding you hand when you gave birth to Skye, even though you keep telling me it's not my fault." A few teared up dabbing their eyes. "The truth is you have been my biggest supporter even when I had doubts about myself. You especially told me the hard truths even when I didn't want it or think I needed it." Some sniggers and chuckles happened. "Even now I am in awe of how smart you are and presenting me with challenges like overcoming a hurricane." Ash's Alolan classmates along with Brock laughed. "But in all seriousness I have been more in awe of your abilities as a mom, I hope I can continue to try and complement your skills especially since Skye is a teenager now and I am barely out of my rookie service time." The audience laughed and Skye took a little offense. "I love you Skye but some days I worry I am not being the parent you need." At that Skye teared up handing her aunt Lily the bouquet as she came up and hugged Ash causing Misty and others to tear up seeing that moment. Skye then went back to her spot dabbing her eyes, getting the bouquet. "I promise we didn't rehearse that." Ash said, then looking back at Misty he said, "I know I need you and I hope I can continue to be the man you seemed to believe I could be. Misty, I want to spend the rest of my life with you as your husband and you as my wife." Misty held his hands, tears falling.
"Now I am having to follow these two and their sappy vows, good thing it's the rings and kiss we are all waiting for so we will start with Misty, best man can we have the rings?" Brock leaned forward handing the preacher the rings. The preacher handed Ash Misty's ring. "Now as you place the ring on her finger repeat after me.
"I Ash." Ash repeated after the preacher, "Take thee Misty, to be my wife, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, for better and for worse, I promise to love and cherish you, from this day forward, till death parts us." Misty let another tear fall as he finished repeating.
"Now Misty repeat after me." The preacher said, handing her Ash's ring. Skye wiped a tear before her mom started repeating, "I Misty, take thee Ash, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, for better and for worse, I promise to love and cherish you, from this day forward, till death parts us." With the ring on Ash's finger they held each other's hands, eyes locked between viridian and brown eyes.
"Now by the power invested in me I pronounce you both husband and wife, now kiss her already." The preacher said. Ash didn't hesitate leaning in and kissing Misty passionately which she met and the crowd applauded while Skye let the tears fall along with her aunts cheering for her parents. Charlie locked eyes with Skye for a moment, smiling.
The reception was hopping filled with many couples and friends dancing to different songs. A couple of slow songs had already played. August had even danced with Bonnie during a slow dance because he wanted to hear more about Zygarde or Squishy as she affectionately called him. Kiawe and Serena were spending a decent amount of time around the other. During a later slow dance Skye came up to Charlie who was standing near the dance floor and asked him to accompany her to it.
"You were right Charlie, they were definitely meant to be together." Skye said gesturing at her parents being a little corny with each other at their couple table watching the other people dance.
"I am sorry I didn't tell you right away I was planning on going back home after the Silver Conference." Charlie said while he and Skye moved slowly to the music.
"You're sorry, Charlie I was a mess when you met me, I was dealing with my own doubt back then but you were truly the first person that didn't see me as some famous person's daughter, you just saw me." Skye said. "Now I am telling you, you deserve someone who is more like you and less like me."
Charlie looked at her, really listening to her, "Are you ending our friendship today Skye Waterflower?"
"No Charles Oris," Skye laughed slightly but looked at him seriously, "I want you to promise me."
"Skye-" Charlie started.
"Promise me, that you won't let what almost happened between me and you get in the way of you and someone else." Skye pleaded.
Not saying anything for what felt like the longest second to Skye, Charlie said, "I promise." At that Skye leaned her head against Charlie's shoulder relaxing. "Not sure if I told you yet but, the tribal elders approved the plans, hopefully by next year all of August's tribe will have new houses."
"That's great Charlie." Skye said smiling as they just held each other during the dance. The young dancing couple didn't notice Ash and Misty eying them.
"Think they are a couple now?" Ash asked.
"No, if they were she would have kissed him." Misty said, "But they do look kinda cute."
Ash smirked at the comment, "They both have really grown up before our eyes in these years."
"Yeah, it goes by quicker when they are small." Misty said.
"Don't make me feel old yet Mist." Ash retorted.
"Speaking of that ready to embarrass our teenage daughter with this duet?" Misty asked, looking over at the DJ who was ready with microphones for them.
"You bet." Ash said getting up and leading Misty to the DJ who handed them the microphones.
"Now everyone this is a bit unconventional but I hope you all will bear with us." Ash announced, Skye just looked up from Charlie's shoulder horrified.
A beat started up and on cue Misty began singing, "One can have a dream, baby,"
Ash took up the next verse singing, "Two can make that dream come true."
Misty sang, "One can talk about winning,"
Ash sang, "Two can help you battle through."
People began to cheer especially Jessie, James and Meowth seeing the twerps making a fool of themselves.
Misty sang, "One Pokémon can take you halfway,"
Ash sang, "Two can help you win the game, yeah."
Misty sang, "One will surely help you avoid disaster,"
Ash sang, "Two will bring you Pokémon fame."
Then together they met eyes singing, "It takes two, baby,

It takes two, baby,
To make a dream come true.

August and Charlie kept on cheering along with most of the crowd as Ash and Misty finished singing the song. Just as they finished singing Ash and Misty turned around and saw the DJ hand a familiar looking pink colored Pokemon a microphone. Both of them yelped and ran for their honeymoon night cabin before they set out for Lumiose City the next day. Just as they ran off the Jigglypuff that seemed to haunt their journeys began to sing causing the entire crowd to pass out and sleep where they were. When it realized everyone fell asleep while it performed it began to doodle on all their guests faces in marker.
Catching their breath inside the cabin Misty asked, "Think our guests will be upset?"
"They might but, it's not like we could plan for Jigglypuff." Ash said, "Frankly I am surprised that Jigglypuff is still around. Feels like some never ending joke or curse, take your pick."
"I couldn't believe it when it happened years ago when you brought your Alolan classmates." Misty said heading into the bathroom.
Ash chuckled remembering the doodles that were on Misty's face. He took off his jacket and set it on the bed. "I hope Todd takes some good pictures after he wakes up. Maybe we can–" Ash's jaw dropped when Misty stepped out of the bathroom in some white lacey lingerie that left very little to his imagination. The bottoms were fairly see through, but just above them was a garter belt of lace that was attached to her white stockings. The top had only a thin piece of lace lining covering Misty's nipples, with the top holding a similarly thin piece of lace just underneath her breasts. "Holy fucking shit you look amazing." Ash finally said with the biggest smile she had seen on his face. "Have you been wearing this the whole time?"
Misty walked up to him, stopping his hand that reached for her breast and put it on her hip saying, "Everything but the top."
