SLappYNano: That reminds me, I need to plan Ainz's reaction to Subaru's existence...

Seats of the Six Cardinals, The Slane Theocracy

"And what of the situation in E-Rantel?" One of the Six Cardinals of the Six Gods asked.

"Unchanged." The Cardinal of Earth replied.

"Noted… well, is that it? Are we done here?" The Cardinal of Water asked.

"Actually, I believe the Captain still had something more to report. Go on." The Cardinal of Light prodded.

A red-eyed man in his late teens and decorated in expensive-looking armor, known simply as 'Captain' for his position as the Captain of the Black Scripture, stepped forward to finish his report. "Zesshi Zetsumei and the group sent to investigate the immense surge of magic near the border have returned. The results are..."

"...go on." Came a concerned reply from the Cardinal of Fire.

"Zesshi Zetsumei encountered a man who claimed to be the cause and experienced defeat when she challenged him to a battle." The Captain continued. Ignoring the bursting shouts of disbelief that followed, the Captain pressed on. "The man in question called himself Flugel Pleiades and engaged Zesshi in combat which ended with his sure victory."

"...and how did she react to that?" The Cardinal of Wind asked.

"She's currently in the middle of procuring books and knowledge on 'how to become a proper mother'." The Captain revealed. "According to the reports of Captain Goras Musik, Flugel refused to impregnate her on the grounds that she'd be a horrible mother to the child she was asking him for. And that is assuming if he would have allowed her to raise the child."

What was left unsaid was that the Captain was in agreement with Flugel's decision. While Zesshi Zetsumei's desire for a strong child was understandable, one only needed to know her past to know how badly a child could become when raised by someone who didn't love them accordingly.

The Captain himself, having experienced unconditional love from his own parents and had been planning on giving the same to his own future children, knew very well that Zesshi didn't currently possess similar capability.

"Well... As a woman myself, I guess I do feel a bit relieved that she was refused for such a reason." The Cardinal of Fire stated, shuddering a bit as she no doubt tried to imagine Zesshi Zetsumei as a mother. "Although I am unsettled with the knowledge that there is actually a being capable of defeating the Extra Seat."

"The Thousand League Astrologer casted her divination on this 'Flugel', I believe?" The Cardinal of Darkness queried. "What can she tell us about him?"

The Captain visibly frowned at that, recalling the frightened expression of the 7th Seat. "The Astrologer did not see any more than the initial impression. Nor does she wish to continue to do so on him."

"...is something wrong with her sight?" The Cardinal of Fire asked.

"With all due respect, Cardinal, the last two people she used her divination on shook her thoroughly." The Captain said. "The first one, who calls himself Ainz Ooal Gown, wiped out the Sunlight Scripture and somehow cast a spell 200 leagues away to attack her, right in the heart of the capital itself after she had caught his notice. And the second one, Flugel, singlehanded defeated Zesshi in combat and saw the Astrologer in her vision, being content enough to just warn her off. You can imagine her extreme hesitation in testing either of them again."

The silence was deafening.

Treasury Central, Seiryutei

Tsaindorcus Vaision, the Platinum Dragon Lord, was in a panic.

For a maximum of six painfully long seconds, Tsa had felt the almighty power of a Dragon God saturating the world.

He hadn't felt that much raw power from anything beyond the Dragon Emperor. And Tsa did not know which Dragon Lord this energy belonged to.

Should he go after them?

No, he had to think this through.

For the first time ever, Tsa was possibly the weaker one.

The fact that rather than letting their power flare brightly, this new Dragon Lord had immediately drawn it back in, meant that Tsa could safely assume (and seriously hope) that whomever was responsible was not some arrogant newcomer who had wanted to throw his power around.

Although, it terrified him once he considered that given the usual diversity displayed over the centuries, this might actually be an extremely powerful Player with dragon-related abilities.

The aftermath of the mountain range he would later investigate would only boost his fears, especially after he learned of Zesshi Zetsumei's defeat.

Adventurer's Guild (Re-Estize Branch)

Flugel hummed as he looked over the many Quests covering the board at the Adventurer Guild. It had been quite the hassle to go through the motions of forging a new identification plate for himself.

Then again, what had been worse, had been choosing who would follow him and be his 'Adventurer buddy'.

The various NPCs had gathered in the colosseum, with Flugel and two others at the announcer's booth.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, are you ready?!"

Flugel blinked in disturbed surprise at Otto, who was not only holding a microphone of all things, but had a feverishly excited expression, with even bloodshot eyes and visible veins. "Felix, what happened to Otto?"

"Oh?" Felix shrugged uncaringly next to him. "I just gave him a little pickup before we got at it."

"What did you do?!" Flugel demanded in shock. "Otto's starting to foam in the mouth!"

"The wait is finally over!" Otto roared. "Who will be the victor?! Who will gain the opportunity of becoming Flugel-san's partner?! Here! We! GO!"

*BOOM!*

*BOOM!*

*KRAKASH!*

*THOOM!*

When the massive dustcloud and smoke finally cleared away, Flugel blinked at the utter wasteland of an arena that had been completely fine four seconds ago. "Yeah, this is what I pretty much figured would happen..."

Stepping out into the destroyed area, he steadily looked around until he found somebody suitable enough for the job. With a short grunt, he grabbed at her ankle, lifting her straight out of the sand she'd been buried headfirst in.

"You'll do."

"Since she went off to go find us a suitable Adventurer to partner up with, it's up to me to get a suitable Quest!" Fluge- No wait, he was Subaru now, hummed as he snatched up the Quest and headed for the receptionist.

Donning his natural name again as a pseudonym(oh, the irony), Subaru was dressed differently than normal, adorned in a simple black tunic, trousers, and shoes, along with an orange longcoat with black markings. Differently from his usual style, he had taken one of the few magical swords in Lugnica's storage, changing his class from {Imperial Sage} to {Arcane Swordmaster} as he would be wielding the {Night Sword: Dáinsleif}.

It had taken the use of the special band around his wrist, which was actually a Esoteric Gear which allowed one to relocate their stats to a different class. As it neither created nor deleted accumulated stat points, it had been popular but rather expensive to buy and own in {Majestia Roya} whenever a Player wished to temporarily change classes.

"Excuse me, I'd like to take this." Subaru hummed as he passed the quest up to one of the receptionists.

"Sir, can you actually take this quest solo?" The woman uttered after she took a quick glance at the copper tag hanging off Subaru's neck.

"I'm not actually solo." Subaru replied. "My partner went off to look for another Adventurer that we could team up with. She'll be here soon."

"I'm already here, Flu- I mean, Subaru."

Turning around, Subaru smiled at the sight of Emilia approaching with another woman. Different dressed as well, Emilia was now wearing a white and purple dress, which was longer in the back along with a white hooded cloak that was magically camouflaging her ears (Flugel had been pissed when some asshole had spat on Emilia after calling her a halfbreed bitch, only being held back from killing him by the pleading silverette as he thoroughly brutalized the thug), thigh high white stockings, and knee high armored boots. Along with all that, she had donned magic-enchanted mithril armor which was decorated with silver and possessed the Pleiades guild emblem on the breastplate, on which another copper tag could be seen.

"I-It's nice to meet you. I am Carmilla, your senior. Lia here already told me everything." Carmilla said, nodding a greeting at the receptionist. "As a Silver-rank, I'll accept them into my care."

Carmilla had round red downcast eyes and long pale-pink hair that was parted down the middle and tied into loose asymmetrical bunches falling down the front of her shoulders that went all the way to her hips. She wore a white vest over a pink shirt, a white pleated skirt, black tights, and short white boots. Hanging off Carmilla's back was a large ornate but sturdy bow, along with a filled quiver. Although her physique wasn't apparent through her clothing, Subaru could instantly detect the shapely figure Carmilla possessed.

"I see. In that case, I'll allow them into your care, Carmilla." The receptionist acquiesced.

"Nice to meet you, Carmilla." Subaru extended his hand for a shake. "I'm Subaru, swordsman."

Carmilla looked at the extended hand like it was a foreign object before gingerly taking it, letting out a small gasp of surprise as Subaru eagerly shook her whole arm. "C-Carmilla, archer."

"And I am a magic caster, Lia." Emilia happily finished. "I hope we can get along well."

Carmilla's thoughts on her new temporary team were those of confusion.

It wasn't that just Subaru's strange behavior and weird lines often clashed with the noble-like attitude he had, or the fact that a magic caster as distinguished as Lia had a weird speaking lilt and was utterly devoted to Subaru's whims despite how any stranger would've believed it to go the other way.

But those weren't the most disturbing things.

The two before her... were too strong.

When they had first encountered the ogres and goblins they'd been directed to subjugate, Carmilla's first reaction had been to place herself between the two behind her and the monsters, with them as her support.

For all the strangeness, the two Copper-ranked were pretty nice people, for Carmilla knew very few Adventurers that would've allowed children to play around with them.

(It had probably helped Lia had a spell to instantly clean their clothes of all the dirt and stains and Carmilla knew she would seriously hunt her down to learn that spell no matter the cost.)

"Stay back, you two, I'll-" Carmilla's warning was cut off when Subaru and Lia easily leapt over her and simultaneously stomped the closest ogre's shoulders, kicking off hard enough to break them.

As the lead ogre fell, Subaru wasted little time in finally hefting the giant sword off his back. It was a pitch black greatsword with a black hilt connected to a hand guard that dropped down on the right side. The blade itself was completely black like the rest of the sword and actually became engulfed in shadows as Subaru easily cleaved through the ogre with little resistance.

Barely taking a moment to pause, Subaru launched himself into the fray. "Let's go!"

Snapping out of it, Carmilla nodded in agreement as she drew her bow and instantly fired four arrows at once over Subaru's head, killing two goblins that had been trying to sneak up on him along with two other ogres on his left side.

"Thanks for the assist!" Subaru waved back in appreciation, seemingly showing no awareness to the ogre looming behind him, until he swiftly spun about and decapitated it.

'Weird. I rarely get thanked for saving a fellow Adventurer's life, especially if he's both Copper-ranked and a man.' Notching that detail to the list of strange things she'd learned about Subaru and Lia, Carmilla fired more arrows into the fray, a little more at ease at her partners' competence.

"They're starting to run away." Subaru stated when an ogre finally got the idea to run away after he had cut down his twenty-fifth enemy. "Lia, shoot them all down."

"Understood." Lia spread out her arms, causing the air around them to suddenly plummet in temperature as many floating icicles slowly manifested around them. With a little shake of her hands, the icicles fired and hit every single retreating goblin and ogre. "That should be all of them."

"Great job!" Subaru gave her a congratulatory headpat, causing the silverette to blush heavily but eagerly lean into his hand. "You got all of them in one fell swoop!"

Carmilla frowned at the corpses around them, only seeing her arrows in about a quarter of them. "Who are you two?"

Subaru blinked. "What do you mean?"

"I thought you might've been some noble playing around, but this is the opposite." Carmilla clenched her bow. "Instead of being too weak, you two are too strong to be Copper-ranked. You're even stronger than me and I'm Silver-ranked! Why did you two become such low ranked Adventurers?!"

When Subaru raised his hands in appeasement, Carmilla knew she'd gone too far. People could have varied reasons for becoming an Adventurer and bringing up one's past was an unspoken no-no amongst them. "No, I'm sorry for pressing. I just-"

"Easy there. It's fine." Subaru placed a calming hand on her shoulder. "I get that you have questions but it's fine. Sorry if I made you uncomfortable with my actions or behavior."

Carmilla mentally slapped her head. Now, she'd gone and guilt tripped him. This wasn't how she'd wanted it to go-

"I just wanted to become an Adventurer for fun."

Carmilla face faulted. "Are you fucking with me?!"

"Haha, just a little to be honest." Subaru chuckled as he withstood the many punches that landed on his chest.

Carmilla hadn't been putting that much strength in them, but he didn't wince. A real Copper-rank would've buckled a bit from someone of her level.

"But I am serious." Subaru caught her wrists and held her close. "While it could've been easy laying about back home, recent events have made me believe that I might need to be more proactive. That's another reason I became an Adventurer. To know this world without having to deal with the politics... at least, not yet."

"Urgh... Fine, just do what you want." Carmilla groaned as she leaned against Subaru's chest, trying not to blush in embarrassment as Lia rubbed her back. So Subaru was most likely a noble who had been privately trained before joining the guild. Going by that logic, Lia was probably one of his servants, given her subsmissive nature to him.

Add in the fact that Subaru definitely didn't act like he was blessing the air itself just by breathing along with his cordial relationship with Lia, unless a family member came looking, Subaru definitely wouldn't turn any heads as much as the very attractive Lia would.

"Let's just keep going." Carmilla pushed back from Subaru's chest and nervously cleared her throat as she picked up the bag of severed goblin and ogre ears. "I want to get to our destination before sunset."

"Huh?" Subaru raised a curious eyebrow as he helped pack up. "You want to visit somewhere before returning back to the Guild?"

"Yeah. I haven't been home for three whole months now. I mean, I don't have any more living relatives there, but I do still have a friend there." Carmilla smiled fondly at the memory of the place. "It's a bit small, but really homely. You two are going to love Carne Village."

Seran District, E-Rantel

To say Clementine was terrified would be an understatement of the highest caliber.

Clementine liked to believe that she was the most feared killer born from the Slane Theocracy's Black Scripture, second only to her brother.

Then this scary ass bitch showed up and left her name in the wake.

"Elsa, we can't kill her yet, remember?"

"I know, Meili. I know."

Clementine didn't dare to interrupt either of the apparent sisters before her, even if one of them was an actual child.

Why?

It might have had something to do with the curved purple blade pressed against her exposed midriff, pushing in hard enough to draw blood despite her {Invulnerable Fortress} being active.

It might have had something to do with the manicured hand clutched to her throat and holding her against the wall, with {Greater Ability Boost} being utterly useless in so much as shaking it.

"I really want to see her lovely bowels, though~"

It definitely had everything to do with the former 1st Seat of the Black Scripture, 'Bowel Hunter' Elsa Granhiert, accosting her out of nowhere just a few minutes ago.

"Have you heard the news, Clementine?" Meili asked.

"N-News?" Clementine shivered as the blade caressing her stomach danced over her belly button. "W-What news?"

"Have you heard about the Battle of Irlam Mountains?" Elsa whispered after bringing her lips right next to Clementine's ears.

"T-That's a lie!" Clementine refuted, disbelief coloring her tone. "Zesshi Zetsumei is the strongest God-kin! There isn't any being in the world that can defeat her!"

"The rumors we got from Irlam say otherwise~" Meili sang from behind Elsa. "We're here because a girl I made friends with said that he might soon be coming here to E-Rantel~"

"W-Well, I don't know about anyone that powerful joining the Guild." Clementine stuttered in terror. There was a pers- No, a monster stronger than Zesshi Zetsumei?! Here in E-Rantel?! "The Adventurer's Guild only had four new members join recently, all of them Copper-ranked!"

The smile on Meili's face would've looked at home on a Vampire who just smelt fresh blood. "And that's all we needed to know."

Clementine's terror skyrocketed as she could feel the blade start to press in deeper. "W-W-Wait! Maybe I can be of help somehow?"

The blade stopped and Elsa's toxic purple eyes looked at her in curious amusement. "Oh?"

Clementine slowly raised her hands to appear as harmless as possible. It was pathetic and worm-like, she knew, but when faced with humiliation or disembowelment, she would rather suck it up and accept the former. "Do you remember Khajit? That creepy old man that was into the undead?"

"Oh? Is he nearby?" Elsa asked.

"Y-Yes. He's got some plan and is going to drag the entire city into it." Clementine hastily clarified. "With all that chaos about, the Adventurers will definitely get involved and-"

"Zesshi's opponent might make an appearance." Elsa hummed thoughtfully. "The people at Irlam mentioned that he specifically took Zesshi far away so that their home wouldn't be destroyed by their battle. Quite the heroic character... and the type that would definitely show up if a whole city's worth of people are going to be used as fuel for Khajit's scheme, correct?"

"Oh, yes. He-?!" Clementine stopped when Elsa's cold blade was suddenly placed against her lips.

"Now, now, I can already figure it all out. But you see, I was so excited to want to cut you open~ But if I'm going to leave you alive, I can put you to another use~" Releasing Clementine's neck, Elsa stepped back until she sat herself on a crate against a wall. "On your knees~"

"O-On my k-knees?" Clementine gulped.

Despite the flush on her pale face, Elsa's gaze burned as she idly pushed aside the front of her dress to reveal her soaked underwear.

"On your knees~"

For a very long two seconds, Clementine considered her chances. Elsa was three meters away, her hands free of her blades. The little girl had wandered off elsewhere, leaving the two women alone. If she could just reach her stilettos while already charging forward with {Flow Acceleration}-

Clementine fell forward choking, her neck and stomach simultaneously cut open and spilling too much red-

Clementine gasped heavily, sweating heavily as she clutched her unblemished neck and stomach. With a shaky gasp, she turned her gaze back to Elsa.

The Bowel Hunter hadn't moved at all, her expression of arousal and excitement still there and her blades out of sight. But there was zero doubt of the fantasy becoming reality if the black-haired woman felt the whim.

"On your knees, Clementine~"

Tears prickled the corner of her eyes as the Windstride went down on her knees and crawled over, starting the first of her 'services' to the Bowel Hunter.
