• Darkness in the Night •
It was a hot summer in Jaya, Montblanc Cricket was out in the woods hunting for food. After hours of hunting, he headed back home alone. It was almost dark, while walking Cricket could hear nothing but the muffle roar of the animals living in the woods. Cricket saw a glance in the woods. When he looked he saw nothing but darkness in the woods. He then hears branches being snapped.
Cricket looked back and foreward at the woods looking for the cause of the sound and saw nothing. Just the seemingly endless blackness of the woods. Cricket could be just hearing things or not but then he hears growling in the woods. Could it be a big insect, thought Cricket, he continued walking, but he never heard this kind of growling from an insect before. Cricket found two sets of scratches on trees. The trees were pretty old. They could have been there for months and caused by some large animal, but that was the first time that he distinctly remembered seeing them. While Cricket was looking at one of the trees, something moved passed him from his rear and on his left side. When Cricket turn and looked around his left, he once again sees nothing, and then he resume walking. In hindsight, there are two possibilities for what is happening. Possibility one. Some big insect, or some large animal is wondering around the woods making nosies. However, the second option is what makes Cricket blood run cold whenever he consider it the possibility. The thought of it could be some weird ghost or some paranormal creature. The 2nd thought makes him feel dread and the fact he is still walking home alone at night.
Ten seconds earlier, nothing had been behind him. Suddenly, he hears footsteps. He turned around, and yet again nothing was there, he continued to speed walk to the rest of the way home shivering and knowing something was off. He manage to reach home, and right away he locks his doors and windows.
The next morning, Cricket went diving into the ocean near his house looking for gold. When he resurfaces, Cricket saw something large, and wide behind his house, and is as black as the night, and is clinging to the rear of his house, and saw deep scratches on the sides of his house.
That is when Cricket realizes that the creature followed him home last night.
