4 YEARS AGO - PATCH
In the backyard of the Xiao Long home, which resides near a grassy land, 11-year old Ruby Rose is skipping around the backyard. Humming a song, she smiles as Zwei, her pet corgi, is sleeping nearby. Ruby then stops and looks at one of the windows of her house. Yang, 4 years younger, waves at her before she sneezes into a tissue.
"Too bad you're sick, Yang." Ruby said. "Otherwise, you'd be out here, playing with me."
"I would that as a good thing."
Ruby gasps, turning to where the voice was. She is expecting her dad, Taiyang, to be standing there. But instead...
"Hello, Ruby Rose." Ozma said, a smile forming on his face.
Ruby begins to back away in fear.
"Don't be afraid. I am a friend. I promise you."
Ozma then walks to a nearby bench and sits down.
"Um...you shouldn't be here. My dad and my sister-"
"Oh don't worry, Miss Rose. No one knows I'm here. In fact...you and I are the only ones moving."
Ruby then realizes that everything around her is frozen in place. She turns to see Zwei in mid-jump, preparing to attack.
"Wha...what is this?"
Ozma then shows a device on his wrist. "That would be my time freezer. Just one click...and everything around me remains still. Pretty unique artifact. Got it as a gift from Pietro on Remnant-7."
Ruby begins to look confused. "Remnant...7? Huh?"
"...Oh. I went too fast in my explanation. Come. Sit with me."
Ruby looks hesitant to do so. But knowing talking to him might unfreeze everything, she walks to the bench and sits down.
"Why did you say...Remnant-7?"
Ozma smiles. "Tell me, Miss Rose: Have you ever wondered if there was another world out there...maybe multiple worlds? Like for example...a world similar to this one...but instead of you dreaming to be a Huntress...you dream of becoming a baker? Or maybe an actress. Or perhaps...you wanna rule the world."
Ruby goes eyes wide. "I would never!"
"I know, Miss Rose. Here, you wouldn't. But...I have seen some worlds out there...you either were forced to...or you became the villain willingly."
Ruby starts to look shocked.
"But the way to those worlds are impossible for you to see. Therefore, you will never see what your other selves have done."
"...Why are you telling me this? Why?"
Ozma lowers his head in sadness. "...There is a threat out there...one who threatens the entire Multiverse. So far...she's destroyed a universe. Everyone there...wiped from existence." He turns to Ruby. "She is incredibly powerful. And I can't stop her. Not by myself."
"And you expect me...and 11-year old girl...can help you?"
Ozma stands up from the bench. "Maybe not now. It took her many years to destroy a universe. And she must rest before she can attack another. As for you, Ruby Rose, I have seen your future."
Ruby stands up in surprise.
"You've grown up to be an extraordinary leader. Your determination...your courage... your talent of never giving up, no matter how bad the situation. And that is why I have chosen you, Ruby Rose."
Ozma the offers his hand.
"Take my hand...and you know the truth. But this...this is your choice, of course."
Ruby is once again hesitant. But after hearing what Ozma said, she starts believing him. She then reaches for his hand.
"However, Miss Rose..."
Ruby looks at Ozma.
"Should you accept...you will witness everything you need to know about the Multiverse. But...you will forget our little meeting here. Over time, flashes of memories will come into your mind. You will wonder what they are. But you wont remember. But when the time is right...all those memories will make sense. And the time will come to protect the Multiverse from her. Do you understand?"
Ruby, after a few seconds, shakes her head and takes Ozma's hand. Soon, flashes of worlds similar to Remnant begin to appear in her mind. She sees multiple versions of herself. But the visions slowly show destruction everywhere.
As Ruby gasps at what she is seeing, Ozma backs away and sighs. "Good luck, Miss Rose."
Ozma then snaps his fingers and a flash of white light appears, causing Ruby to shield her eyes. A couple seconds later, the flash is gone. Ruby lowers her arms and looks confused. She is alone in her backyard...not remembering what had just happened.
"And after that...I started having the visions."
TURNING POINT
Ruby-Prime sits on her seat, listening to her alternate self's story. The remaining seats are still empty.
"So...out of all of us...Ozma chose you to lead us?" Ruby-Prime asked.
Ruby shrugs. "I guess...but then again. He did ask me, back when I was 11. What was he thinking?"
"Maybe he saw something in you. Perhaps you have a trait that I or the others don't."
Ruby looks around and notices. "Where are the others? They should've been here, by now."
"Different Universes. Maybe takes longer for them. Just relax. They'll be here."
A flash of light suddenly appears above the ground. And the sound of someone yelling is heard, before they exit the light and fall flat on the ground. Ruby watches as the person quickly gets up and brushes the dust off of her jacket, the latter angrily muttering. But she realizes who it is. "Yang?"
Yang Xiao Long from her Remnant suddenly stops and slowly looks up, seeing two Ruby's looking at her. Her expression quickly turns to sadness, before lowering her head and sitting down on her side of the table.
"I wasn't told there would be two of you." Yang said, crossing her arms.
"None of us were told, who would be coming." Ruby-Prime. "Where's your gear?"
Ruby sees Yang lower her head and looks with worry. "Are you okay?"
Yang nods her head. "I um...I'm trying to be okay."
Suddenly, another flash appears and another person lands safely on the ground.
"Are they all gonna appear in flashes of light?" Yang asked.
"Yep." Ruby-Prime answered.
The next person then stands up, and picks up Gambol Shroud, before sheathing it. Blake raises her head and sees the three sitting at the table. But is more shocked to see Yang. Blake slowly walks to the table, to sit down. She doesn't look at Yang, but looks at the two Ruby's.
"I'm assuming you're in charge." She asked, pointing at Ruby-Prime. But the latter nods, leaving Blake confused and looking at Ruby. "You?" She crosses her arms. "We're doomed."
"Quick to judge huh?" Ruby-Prime asked. "We haven't even started."
"Seriously? Look at her. She looks like she's still attending Beacon."
"I am attending Beacon." Ruby said.
"Hence my words." Blake said. "Ozma chose you to lead us. I have no faith."
"If Ozma chose her, it's for a reason." Yang said. "He's never wrong...so far."
Blake then quickly stands up and walks around, her hands on her hips.
"What is wrong with her?" Ruby asked.
Yang shrugs. "Beats me. None of us know each other yet." She then takes out her Scroll and notices a reply in her text that she got from an hour before. She then chuckles. "Maybe next week, Vomit Boy. But I'm busy right now."
Ruby looks in confusion. "Vomit boy? You mean Jaune? Your Juane?"
Yang puts her Scroll away. "Yeah. Meeting him for coffee. Looks like I'll have to postpone."
Ruby-Prime raises her eyebrows. "You and Jaune...wow. Never knew you two would be a match."
Ruby's eyes go wide, hearing her counterpart's words. "You're dating Jaune?"
Yang shyly smiles before it fades to sadness. "He's...he's been helping me the past few months. Dealing with my grief. I just wanted to thank him in return."
"Grief?"
Yang turns to Blake, who had been listening in the conversation. "You too?"
Blake then walks back to the table and rests her hands on her seat. "It's hard, you know. Grief. That is definitely something, that sticks with you."
Ruby-Prime nods her head. "Sure is."
"...Yeah." Ruby said.
Another flash of light shines near the group. When is dissipates, they see Ozma. He is wearing an all-white suit and using a cane. He smiles upon seeing the four. "Welcome. I am glad that all of you are here?"
"All of us?" Ruby asked. "I thought there would be more. You know...save the Multiverse...need a big team?"
"I know, Miss Rose. But unfortunately, the rest are preoccupied by events in their worlds. So for now, it's just the four of you."
Blake sighs and nods her head. "Like I said...we're doomed."
"Miss Belladonna. Have some faith. As soon as the others are done with their duties, they will will ready to come here. In the meantime, the four of you should take some time to get to know each other. Build some trust. I'll be keeping an eye on the other worlds and their progress. Miss Polendina?"
A holographic head then suddenly appears, startling the group. Penny Polendina smiles at them.
"Hello, everyone. It is wonderful to finally meet you. I would love to stay and chat. But I am currently occupied." She turns to Ozma. "What assistance do you need, sir?"
"Penny." Ozma said. "I need to take a look at Remnant 22. Miss Schnee never answered my call. I need to know what is taking her too long."
Penny nods. "Certainty. I'll be back in a bit."
The group watches Penny vanish while Ozma sighs.
"I know that some of you are in a bit of a shock to see Miss Polendina again. But I assure you...she's a nice as the ones in your worlds." He said before walking into another room, closing the door.
"Why would he say that?" Ruby asked. "On my world, Penny's alive. And at Atlas."
"Well not in mine."
Ruby turned to see her other self looking sad.
"On my world, Penny died." Ruby-Prime said. "Then she came back. And then gave her life again to end the war?."
Ruby is surprised. "War?"
Ruby-Prime nods. "Lasted for years. Lot of people died. It was tragic. I don't want to talk about it."
"Ozma did say, we should get to know each other. Maybe we can talk about our worlds?" Ruby said. "Yang? Wanna go first?"
Yang then stands up from her seat. "I guess. I might hesitate, but I'll try. On my world...we were fighting against an evil named Salem. Her mission to get her hands on all four Relics. We tried so hard to defeat her. And we did...but it was too late." She is hesitant to speak more, but she clears her throat and continues. "Salem used the Relics that she had...wiped out a quarter of the entire population of Remnant. It was random. We lost so many people...my...I lost my entire family. Dad...Qrow..." She tried to continue as she looked at Ruby. But tears fall down her face, forcing her to walk away as she quietly sobs.
Ruby knowing what Yang meant, just lowers her head. Blake then stands up and walks to Yang, putting her hand on the latter's shoulder.
"We've all lost people we cared about. I know you have it rough...but on my world, everyone lost people."
Yang looks at Blake. "What happened on your world?"
"...The zombie apocalypse."
Ruby lifts her head to look at them. "Zombies?"
Blake nods her head. "Almost everyone died to the virus. Only a handful of people and settlements were left. And now...Patch is the safest place to be at. I live there with whoever's left.."
"What was the cause?" Ruby-Prime asked.
Blake then quickly points to Ruby. "You. Well...my world's Ruby. And experimental vaccine that was never finished was injected into you. You were Parient Zero. The cause of the end of my world."
Ruby tried to swallow but can't. "That's a lot to take in."
"Yeah well...what's done is done. We moved on...I moved on." Blake turns to Yang. "You have to as well. Keeping that much grief in you...it's not healthy."
A loud beeping is then heard and another bright light appears. The group then watches as the light vanishes. And someone stands nearby, looking at her Scroll.
"Weiss?" Ruby asked.
Weiss Schnee of her world looks up and notices the group. She then looks around the room. "Wh...where am I? Where's Winter?"
"You're at the Turning Point." Ruby-Prime said. "Ozma summoned us to meet here."
Weiss is surprised to see two Ruby's in the same room. She then notices Blake nearby and her eyes go wide. She suddenly takes out a pistol and aims at her. Blake is caught off-guard.
"Blake Belladonna! Put your hands up! Right now!
Blake complies and raises her hands.
"Whoa, whoa whoa!" Yang said, standing up. "Weiss. What are you doing?"
Weiss turns to look at Yang, and her expression turns to shock. She then lowers her gun. Weiss starts to shake as she slowly puts her gun away. Then she suddenly drops to her knees and lowers her head. Yang then walks to Weiss and puts her hand on the latter's shoulder. Weiss then suddenly stands and starts backing away, fear on her face. Yang just stands there as Blake lowers her hands.
"No...no. This is impossible." Weiss said. "You're dead...you...you were killed on the train."
Yang is surprised. "The train? You mean from when we fought the White Fang?"
Weiss just nods.
"But I lived. My mother saved my life."
Weiss is now confused. "You mother? What...no one saved you, Yang. We found you in the rubble. You...you died in the hospital."
Ruby, hearing all this, turns and walks away towards the corner of a room. Ruby-Prime sees her alternate self crossing her arms and shaking.
"Weiss." Yang said. "I'm not the Yang that you're talking about. I'm from another world." Yang points at Blake. "The same for Blake. And both Rubys." She then pointed at Weiss' gun. "Now why were you pointing that at Blake?"
"Because I was hunting her." Weiss answered. She takes out a badge and show it to Yang. "After you died, I quit being a Huntress and joined the Vale Police Department." She points at Blake. "On my world, Blake Belladonna is wanted on multiple murders, including Roman Torchwick and Neopolitan. And she attempted to kill me and Ruby, when we tried taking her in."
"Okay. I get that. But this Blake here has gone through far worse than you have. So please...ease up a bit. We've all been summoned here to save the Multiverse. Let's all be friends now."
Weiss crosses her arms, angry. "...fine."
Yang watches as Weiss walks past her and towards the table. The latter looks for the chair with her emblem and sits down on it. Ruby turns her head and sees Weiss looking at her with a sad look. Yang then walks to Blake and talks.
"You okay?"
"Why wouldn't I be?" Blake asked. "I've fought the undead. I can handle an angry Weiss."
Ruby-Prime then sits down and watches everyone else do the same. She then looks at the remaining chair, bearing an emblem of two moons and the number 8 on it.
"I wonder what that version of Jaune is going to be like."
The group looks at her.
"Jaune?" Yang asked.
"Yeah. The last chair is bearing Jaune's emblem." Ruby-Prime points at the chair. "Jaune Arc of Remnant-8 will be our final member."
Yang looks at emblem. "Well...shit."
Ruby goes eye-wide. "Ah! You cursed!"
Yang looks at Ruby with confusion. "Huh?"
"On my world, no one on Team RWBY is allowed to curse. I'm fairly sensitive to that."
"Seriously?" Blake asked, smiling.
"Oh yeah. I made that rule up after Weiss started a cursing rant last year."
"What?" Weiss said, surprised. "Me?"
"You had such vocabulary."
"So"?" Ruby-Prime said. "I curse a lot. Yang curses. Blake?" Blake nods. "Even Blake curses. And I'm pretty sure this Weiss does. So what's wrong with that?"
Ruby sighs in annoyance. "Fine. But no cursing near me. Got it?"
Yang shrugs. "Eh. Works for me. Now then. We have now a priority...food. All this sadness and talking has gotten me hungry. You guys hungry?"
"After what I've experienced, I'm not." Weiss said.
"I could eat." Blake said.
"Same." Ruby said before pointing at her Prime self. "Her too."
Yang then stands up. "Perfect. Now...where's the kitchen?"
The sounds of a faint scream is then heard, causing everyone to look at one direction.
"Wha...what was that?" Weiss asked.
The scream is heard again, causing Blake to notice a nearby door, her cat ears catching the noise. "There."
Blake then quickly stands up from her chair and walks to the door.
"Hold up."
Blake turns to Yang, who is walking to her.
"Don't go alone. What if it's a monster?"
Blake raises an eyebrow. "You really think Ozma would keep a ferocious monster in a place like this? Besides, whoever is screaming is either a Human or a Faunus."
Weiss then stands up. "Well, if that's the case...who is he hiding here?"
Ruby-Prime stands from her chair and walks to the group. Ruby follows suit but quickly going to the door blocking it.
"Okay, Ruby." Yang said. "Why are-"
"Seriously."Ruby said. "Haven't any of you watch any horror movies in your life?"
"Recent, actually." Ruby-Prime answers. "That Spruce Willis movie was pretty good. Spoiler alert: He's a demon."
"Your point being, Rubes?" Yang asks.
"Oh geez." Ruby said, lowering her arms. "You guys should know. You hear a voice. You decide to investigate. You follow it. Find the source. And all of a sudden..."
Ruby the burts into a roses, flies across the room and stops Weiss, holding her form behind.
"The serial killer raises the knife and-"
"Okay!" Weiss exclaims. "Okay! We get it! Now please let me go!"
Ruby lets go and Weiss rubs her neck.
"Regardless, we're going to check out the noise." Ruby-Prime said. "Someone sounds like they're in trouble. And besides...you got me."
The group then watches Ruby-Prime rises her hand. And fire suddenly expels from it. The group is surprised and see that Ruby-Prime's eye is surrounded by silver flames.
"You're...you're a Maiden?" Yang asked.
"A what?" Said the rest of the group.
"I'll tell you later." Ruby-Prime answered. "Now come on. Let's go."
She would then open the door. And the screaming is more noticeable. The group slowly go down the hallway, which is devoid of light, forcing them to use their Scrolls for light.
"This is spooky." Ruby said, afraid. "We should go back."
Blake is annoyed. "And that's our leader, guys."
Weiss then stops and looks at them. "Wait...who's leading us?"
Ruby chuckles nervously and raises her hand.
"...We're doomed."
The screaming suddenly get's louder, causing everyone to look at the door nearby.
"Um...who's brave enough to open the door?" Ruby asked.
Yang sighs and just walks to the door. As she grabs the door handle, Ruby-Prime has fire ready.
The door opens, and the group walks inside the large room. Ruby sees the bookshelves and desks and notices something familiar. She walks to a nearby desk and looks at the game board, with game pieces on it. "No way."
"This game...I remember it." Blake said, surprised.
"It's the same game that my team played a few months ago." Ruby said. "I remember Weiss crying when she lost."
"...No argument there." Weiss said. "But I seem to recall you crying and on my lap, comforting me. I believe your exact words were-"
"'Stay strong, Weiss! We'll make it through this together!'" Blake said. "Pretty sure all of us remember what happened."
"And how do you-"
"Blake's right." Ruby-Prime said. "In the Multiverse, there is an infinite number of worlds out there. And sometimes, a few worlds will occur at the same time. When we were born. When we attended school. What we had for lunch during the food fight."
"Oh, I remember that." Ruby said, smiling. "Good times.
"Every single point in time matches each world. That is...until a point in time changes everything. On my world, Beacon fell to the Grimm. And I decided to travel to Mistral for answers."
"On my world, Beacon fell as well." Yang said. "We even made it to Atlas. After that...everything changed for the worse." She points at Blake and Weiss. "Your worlds were probably the same up until the train fight. Blake with that zombie virus. And Weiss with...we...you know."
"So we were all pretty much the same up until...Mountain Glenn?" Weiss asked.
"That's our best guess." Ruby-Prime answered.
"You're all lucky, then."
The whole group freezes, knowing non of them said those words. They turn towards one direction, where the voice was.
"In my world...everything changed long before I even attended Beacon. In fact...it all changed the moment, I was born."
Yang notices a switch on the wall, with it pointing down. She immediately pulls it up and all the lights in the room begin turning on. The group notices a glass walls surrounding one area. When the final light turns on, they see someone, who is angrily staring at them.
The person lifts her head and looks at them. Her eyes are red and her skin is white with purple veins on her face. And her hairs is completely black with hors sticking out of her head. And on her back...are wings. Chains wrap around her wrists, legs and neck.
"Hello." She greets with a growl, showing her sharp fangs. "Finally nice to meet you all."
Ruby then notices something and walks towards the glass. As she does, she then starts to realize: She is looking at another Ruby Rose. But this one looks like a hyrid of Human and Grimm. She backs away in fear and turns away.
Grimm-Ruby just grunts. "A shame you had to meet me like this. All chained up like an animal."
The group looks in shock, knowing who she is a well.
"You're Ruby, too?" Weiss asked. "What happened to you?"
Grimm-Ruby turn towards Weiss. "What happened to me? Funny. You said the same thing when you saw my face, the first time. A shame, too. I was beginning to like you, then."
The door to the room suddenly opens. And everyone turns to see Ozma, who is surprised to see them.
"What are you doing in here?" He exclaimed.
Grimm-Rose looks at Ozma, squinting at him. "Guess you didn't tell them, yet!"
Ruby, confused, looks at Ozma. "Told us what?"
LATER
Everyone but Grimm-Ruby is back in the main room, where Ozma is walking around with his hands on his hips.
"I know you have questions-"
"Damn right, we have questions!" Yang exclaims. "We just saw another Ruby chained up in a glass room. And the fact that she looks like a Grimm, is very unsettling. Look at Ruby."
Ozma looks at Ruby, who is sitting down shaking in fear.
"You hid this from us. What else are you hiding, old man?"
"Miss Xiao Long-"
Yang then suddenly grabs Ozma by his shirt and her hair and eyes change.
"Explain! Now!"
But Yang would feel something softly grabbing her shoulder. She turns and sees Blake.
"Let him speak." Blake said. "Give him a chance."
Yang then releases her grip and backs away from him. Ozma straightens his shirt and clears his throat.
"The Ruby Rose that you saw in that room is a monster. On her world, she was conceived by use of Salem's blood."
"And we have yet to be told, who is Salem." Blake asked.
"She is an extremely powerful being, who was once a human. But she turned to the darkness and became who she is now." Ruby-Prime explained. "She is responsible for the Grimm existing in Remnant."
"Correct." Ozma said. "While Summer Rose was pregnant with Miss Rose, Salem attacked her, wounding Summer. But the attack has a purpose. And in the process, her DNA mixed with Summer's. And when the latter passed away after Miss Rose was born, that's when Salem's DNA took effect. Ruby didn't start changing until her 5th birthday."
Ruby lifts her head to look at Ozma.
"Miss Rose was at first scared of her changes. But that was until she found a reason to embrace them. Her team. All she wanted was to protect her team. But every time she used her abilities, it poisoned her mind. Eventually, she became mad with power. Injuring her team and nearly killing many others before I stepped in and captured her. I brought her here in the hopes of showing her the consequences of her actions. To rehabilitate."
"Seriously?" Weiss said, who was resting her back on a wall. "Being chained up to a wall isn't exactly rehabilitation."
"Every attempt met with failure. That thing has no remorse over her actions. I'm trying to help her. But a dozen times, she almost killed me. The chains were only a last resort."
"I suppose, if one of us gets out of control...you'll use chains on us, too?"
"Absolutely not. You think, I enjoy chaining her up? It was necessary at the time. If she goes free...she could kill all of us. Even I'm not immortal, Miss Schnee. I know this is tough for all of you to comprehend. So I'll give you a few minutes to decide whether or not you'll help save reality.
Ozma turns around and heads towards a room. After he enters and closes the door, Weiss the stands up and crosses her arms. "I'm out. I'm not going to risk my life, only to be suddenly killed here. Take me back to my world."
Ruby turns to her. "You're just giving up? Just like that?"
"She's not wrong, Ruby." Blake said. "We are within 30 feet from a monster that could slit our throats in our sleep. People are depending on me on my world. That's why I'm out, too."
"Same here." Ruby-Prime said. "I was forced to watch as friends and family were killed in front of me. I can't bear to see that again. This is not worth it."
"Worth it?" Ruby exclaims. "Guys! This is the Multiverse, that we're talking about! It is in danger. And we need to save it."
"Yeah?" Blake asked. "Well, let's see. We're dealing with a Multiversal version of a very powerful being, capable of destroying universes. And what can any of us do? We consist of a survivor, a detective, a mourner, a Maiden, and a Huntress-in-Training. Compared to Salem...we have no chance."
"...Dammit." Yang said, lowering her head. "She's right. We're weak. We won't win. We're helpless."
Ruby watches as Yang starts to shake.
"We'll be asking Ozma to take us back to our worlds. And if the Multiverse ends...at least we'll be with those we love and care about, until the end." Blake said.
Weiss lowers her head. "Yeah. Until the end."
Ruby the ruses to the group puts Crescent Rose on the table. "Well, I'm staying."
Yang turns to Ruby in surprise.
"I don't care if I have to do this alone. I don't care if Salem is more powerful. If I'm going to die...I'm going to go down fighting."
"You're just a kid, Ruby." Blake said. "Don't throw your life away, for a useless cause."
"I will do this, because maybe this is my destiny. Maybe I'm destined to save all of reality. So that the Multiverse can live on. Maybe I will succeed. Maybe I won't. That's why...I need your help."
Blake sits down and listens to Ruby.
"I look around this table. And what do I see? Cowards."
Yang raises her eyebrows. And Weiss gives a "seriously" look.
"Look. Each and every one of us have lost people who were important to us. Friends...family...lovers. And we lost our chance of normal lives. And believe me, mines is not normal." She puts her hands on her hips. "Today, life has given us something. Given us a chance."
"...To do what?" Yang asked.
Ruby looks at Yang. "To do something...to help those who are helpess...to save everyone. To not run away."
Blake begins to feel guilty.
"I, for one, will not stand by and watch as Salem wipes out the entire Multiverse."
"...But Ruby." Weiss said. "Stopping Salem. It's impossible. We will die. That is what you're asking us to do."
Ruby takes those words in and lowers her head. "Yeah...yeah, I guess I am...I..."
She then turns and walks a couple steps, resting her hand on her head. As she does this, the group take a few seconds to decide.
"Ruby." Blake said, causing the latter to look at her. "I spent my entire life surrounded by my enemies. And then the undead. And despite that...I do have something worth fighting for." She then stands up. "I would be grateful...to fight amongst my friends."
Ruby looks at Blake with approval.
Then Ruby-Prime stands up. "You are very brave, my young counterpart. And very honorable. I wll fight beside you. And in the end..." She then smiles. "See my wife and daughter again."
Ruby, surprised to hear that, smiles and nods.
And then Yang stands up. "I will fight too."
That's when they then looks at Weiss, who has a look of surprise and disapproval. But after a few seconds, she just sighs. "Ah, what the heck. Might as well give this a try."
Weiss then proceeds to stands up. "Now we're all standing. Good for us. So...what do we do, now?"
All of a sudden, a bright white portal appears, causing the group to look at it.
"Looks like out 6th member is coming." Yang said, walking to it.
"Man, do we have a lot to tell them." Ruby said, following her sister's counterpart.
The two of them stop near the portal, just as a silhouette appears. They wait until it eventually reveals someone. A man. Someone holding a shield and sword.
Yang is surprised. "Oh...boy."
"More like...Vomit Boy." Ruby said.
Jaune Arc, or at least a version of him steps out of the portal as it vanishes. He puts his weapon away before smiling and waving his hand.
"Hi." He said. "I'm Jaune Arc of Remnant-13. I guess, I'm here to help save the Multiverse of something?"
Ruby is about to answer before she noticing something crawling on Jaune's back. All the latter does is just giggle.
"Oh right, boy." He said. "Let me introduce you to them."
The creature then appears, sitting on Jaune's shoulder. But...the creature looks like an eagle...but also looking...Grimm.
"Everyone...this is Lucky. My best friend."
Lucky, the Eagle Grimm, then let's out a low roar. This causes both Yang and Ruby scream loudly in terror.
END OF CHAPTER 2
Hey guys. Sorry for the long wait. But I went through a lot of thinking and rewriting, so that I can get the chapter done. But yes. It is done now. I don't know how many chapters this will be. But what I plan as of now, is an adventure throughout the Multiverse. Not sure how to execute that, but I'll do my best. And I have no idea when Chapter 3 will be out. But it'll be out, maybe before 2023. Until then...have a good rest of your day.
