Well, Grandpa had to step in and put a stop to this immediately telling them that if they want to compete do it by showing results in the training anything else is useless wasted effort that will bring no one any good, to which I could argue that the mere fact that they are fighting each other, means at the very least that they are working out and learning to overcome their own weaknesses and shortcomings as a fighter, but that would get me punched yet again, so I decided to leave the training to the military officer who clearly knows better.
Another way to say it is that I was far too busy doing my own training to actually even try to get near this particular catfight, and even if I could that would only translate to my grandpa as saying if I have enough time to meddle in this I clearly need tougher training.
As they got the message that to compete in proving who is the achieving the best results in training got through to them, rather quickly, these ladies got a lecture, and those attempts to resist those instructions were soon corrected by copious use of his fist of love.
Two of the people training are quite literally rubber humans so we can honestly say there is nothing even close to love in that fist of his or we would if we finally got so sick and tired of the current training exercises that we wanted to torture ourselves by asking for even harder exercise and training schedule by telling him that to his face.
I know what most people would be thinking at this moment, Luffy simply does not appreciate the fact that his grandfather spent so much of his own time training him out of sheer love and concern, and to those people, I will tell them they can't say that till they have at least gotten one of his fist of love to the head, and then see if they can say that.
I am not kidding that fist hurts more than people can imagine, and if I wasn't a rubber man, I probably already be dead. While eating dinner I asked grandpa for a tiny little favor, see according to what I know there is a shipwright that I will need in the future, and knowing what I know from my past, right now is the perfect time for me to go to water seven, and at least attempt to prevent the death of one of the most skilled shipwrights that the world has. the man who made the flagship for the previous Pirate King, Gold D. Roger.
Grandpa asked me why was it so important, I had the backing of the Elder Stars, and once revealed as a child of a celestial dragon, I could walk up to any shipyard of the Marines and demand that I be given the ship of my choice, but I told him that if we don't do this we would lose an absolute jewel of a man to lose him it would cause harm to everyone on the world, he was truly a genius when it came to everything from building, designing and repairing ships.
I told him this man was one of the fish people and thus he lives in Water Seven, we need his help if we are ever to attempt the things we need to do. First and foremost I need his help in upgrading and preparing my ship. This was essential if my efforts to form the Armada were going to have any chance of success, and no I couldn't take a Marine ship because it would automatically make any pirate crew I meet hostile simple by association, and this Armada is a check on potential abuses by the Government and the Marines, so it wouldn't make much sense for me to use a Marine ship.
As I continued to train Granpa asked me why would the Elder Stars offer their support to my ideas, and the only thing I could tell them is this, for the good of the common citizen, the Celestial Dragons are nobles but they have long forgotten the fact that nobles are there to serve and protect the common folk, this Armada will be there to stop any abuses that they commit, for petty or simply malicious motives.
"Grandpa I may look young but I have the experience of an entire lifetime, so trust me, I know the good and ill of the world government, and the only reason I do not agree with my father is that he wants to eliminate the world government but apparently had no plans to what happens in the power vacuum that this would create, I rather deal with the corrupt eliminates of the government and form a group to prevent that corruption from reappearing later, The pirate king armada. "
He then asked me if, in reality, I wanted to conquer the world, I couldn't help but laugh as he said that, and I looked at him as I told him that the Pirate King is not one because he conquers it because he has the most freedom on the sea.
He told me that if I finish the week's training goals then he would have his ship take us to Water Seven by the following weekend, that was the best I could do, that is when I saw a strange bird and motioned for it to come down, immediately I realized it was a News Coo, I looked at the bird and asked it how could I get a subscription to the paper?
The bird put its beak in a pouch and pulled out a piece of paper, and something to write with, the paper stated that a subscription fee of fifty berries was required and to write down the name of the person who was subscribing to the paper, a signature would be required but a blood mark would work as one if the person didn't want to write their name down.
Luffy wrote his name, bit his finger, and pressed it on the page, as he did he placed the berries and the paper in the pouch of the bird, I guess I will have to wait for a week before I get my first newspaper the bird heard me and shook its head, immediately he handed me a paper and took off to go what I can only guess more newspaper deliveries.
"What did you buy from the bird Luffy?" Grandpa asked me, and I just told him nothing major just got a subscription for the newspaper, I told him as I began to open the newspaper and began to read, let's see trouble at Impel Down, Ivankov probably has something to do with that, and apparently, Alvida pirates bounty increased by five million, so that means she is doing well.
The social events were not exactly what I call fun, the articles on the new policies by the world government were nothing new, I actually saw which ones had been implemented in my own lifetime, a few stories of Marine promotions but nothing major, and of course the weather, calendar, and horoscope. If I was as immature as my body looks I would have focused on the funnies section of the newspaper and nothing else.
Grandpa asked me if he could read the newspaper and of course, I told him yes, after I got done reading it. Not because I paid for the paper, but because after reading all those reports and seeing how he handled them, I didn't want my grandpa to mess up the paper. The one question that came from me reading all those reports is who is he gentle with? Not me, not his troops, and certainly not the reports or official documents.
Just because I wanted to go to Water Seven he not only doubled but tripled the difficulty of my training that week, for some odd reason grandpa wanted to avoid Water Seven. The sad thing however is that the paper sometimes showed the image of a slender woman with red lipstick, long curly black hair that is tied back, and a mole on the right side of her face below her mouth. She also possesses a black spider tattoo on her left thigh.
She wears a Marine coat on her shoulders like a cape, and her sleeves have pink cuffs and the epaulettes are pink. Her Marine coat has a hood, though she usually keeps it down. Underneath, she sports a short-sleeved pink shirt, with a frilled collar and an open neckline that exposes her cleavage. She wears dark brown shorts and black heels and she reminded me a lot of myself.
So I came to realize that mom was actually still very much alive and if this was to be understood in the Marines. She was in a division that gave her a lot of free time to do anything she wanted, the Justice Advocate General Corp, meaning if some Marine officer or enlisted personnel screwed the pooch, she was in charge of the division that would punish them, but considering what I will find one day with the axe willing moron that is not something that happens often if ever.
On the trip to Water Seven, I planned to visit a few of the islands I know from my past, for instance, I wanted to visit briefly a place called Syrup Island, there was the going Mary on that island that I wanted to buy, and to say the mother of my very good but habitually lying friend Ussop. The trip would also have me visit a place I know I could find Alvida and her crew who at the time were too injured to do anything by the time I got to them.
So I did the only thing I could I talked with Alvida, about her horrible vanity issues due to the insecurities her appearance caused her, so I told her that she could become immensely stronger if she learned to use her Haki and seeing how her crew was injured it means they were in heavy combat, which is the perfect situation to train it, told her of Armament and Observation Haki.
She asked me why the hell was I doing that for her it's not like she was that pretty, to begin with, she knew she was considered fat by a lot of people, to which I couldn't help to laugh remembering the last time I saw her after she ate the slip-slip devil fruit.
"That is the thing Alvida you are pretty, it is just that most people can't see it right now, but eventually I promise everyone will be in awe of your beauty. In a few years, I will help you with that but remember Alvida, it will hurt."
Alvida and a few of her crew were shocked when they basically saw me run across the sea like it was nothing headed right back to where my grandpa's ship was. I simply took off from the ship while we traveled towards Syrup Village, and took this brief detour to talk with her. She was a lot friendlier than before after our conversation which was a bit shocking truth be told.
I paid my price for wondering off while on the trip, another dose of my grandpa's fist of love, I still say that no matter the reason if I was a regular human I would be dead after a single punch of his to my head.
The island was pretty much a rural island nothing major, it was calm and peaceful and the place brought me back many memories of meeting my lying friend, sad thing is most of the things he told people were not lies at all, I guess he suffers the same thing that happens to the boy in the story about the boy who cried wolf. Lie to many times and people will simply assume that everything you say is a lie not even when it is true.
His mother's disease was actually something rather mundane and simple to treat, a couple of bottles of the right medicine, which I got thanks to my gamer powers, and sure enough that one each day after a meal and she should be completely healthy in less and a month. Merry was still the butler of the family that governs the island but he was initially reluctant to sell me the going Mary, saying it was not seaworthy for The New World which is the second half of the Grand Line.
I told him not to worry about that, I was planning to go to meet with the owner of Tom's Works and get that man to work for me and my future armada, so given a chance I will return back to the village with Tom so he can do more than just repair the ship but upgrade it. Merry was very happy to hear that.
I do hope grandpa can see that this trip is not simply me trying to get off from training but rather I am doing some good for a lot of innocent people, the man who governs the island asked me what I think of the possibility of a young woman becoming a doctor on a ship? Personally, I think that is a wonderful idea.
In fact, I wished we had at least one more doctor on ours when we were having our adventure because for some odd reason only until now I realize that Tony Tony Chopper was swamped with work, too much work, and had he had some time for himself he could really have gotten a lot stronger and be able to master his devil fruit powers.
I looked at him and said, "Look, sir, I am still currently training, and you probably think of me as just some kid who doesn't know any better, but if I was a captain you better believe I would love to have a doctor on my ship, and I wouldn't care if that person was male, female or both, and yes I know of at least one person that can be both."
The man asked me who exactly could be both genders and I laughed and told him it was an old friend of my dad, who ate a rather strange devil fruit that allows him to change his own gender or anyone else, Emporio Invankov as far as I could remember. He called my friend freaky and told him, no, if he really wanted to meet freaky then he better be careful never to meet Caesar Clown and no he is not funny or fun to meet or talk with.
He quickly mentioned that a friend of his daughter's actually said that he wanted to become a pirate and according to what his daughter told him, the boy was the most accurate shooter with his slingshot, he told her that she could be a great doctor and ever since her daughter went from wanting dolls and toys to wanting medical textbooks and learning to be a doctor. He had to hire an actual doctor to tutor her, which turned out to be a good thing since when his wife was sick she was saved by that doctor.
Seeing this his daughter's desire to become a doctor only became stronger, as he would sometimes go to the room where he tutored her and he heard him tell her stories of horrible plagues and how he and another doctor who was retired cured them, saving entire islands. He knew this was possibly not true, and it was to make her feel better about the hardships of what she chose to learn so her father never actually told her otherwise.
I told the man that not to worry, should anything happen to him and his wife, one day he will return if by then he had his ship and crew he would welcome her aboard his ship with open arms, like he said he would always welcome her to be his ship's doctor, to which he asked before walking away why does he think he needs more than a single doctor on his ship, to which I couldn't help but laugh as I told him I am the Pirate Prince, my ship and crew will see more combat than most, so naturally I would love to have at least two doctors.
The man must have thought I was joking when he began to laugh as he walked away, but I knew we have to make tracks to Water Seven if we are going to save Tom and his shop from the idiots that want to kill him, why idiots? Because they don't realize that killing Tom would cause them to never be able to get their hands on the real schematics of Pluton. What do you call a person whose very idea of how to achieve his goal does something that will cause him to fail to achieve that goal other than an idiot?
As the ship was done resupplying and was ready to take off towards Water Seven, I told him if he ever meets his daughter's friend to tell Ussop to keep training, cause I will need the best sniper in these seas and as far as I know that was him.
The ship took off as we left a rather shocked-looking man realizing that her daughter's friend there might be something more to the boy other than his tall tales and the boy if anything truly loved his friends and mother, who had made a complete recovery. It was kind of ironic because the medicine was from a game called One Piece, and I got it from the game story if they could see the medicine description they would know that it was invented by a woman who made the medicine in remembrance of the death of her friend's mother.
The trip from that island to Water Seven was long, tedious, boring, and filled with more reading paperwork and doing repetitive actions over and over again, if I didn't know any better I would say grandpa Garp was a former student of Mr. Miyagi, at some points when cleaning the floor I was expecting him to say wax on, wax off.
The only rest period I had was when either I was eating, sleeping, or reading more reports on the cruel and savage activities of many pirate ships. I could also swear that grandpa was doing this to try and change my mind about becoming a pirate. Too bad for him I know pretty much the worst that pirates can do, and I know the worst that Marines can do, neither side can say one side is full of saints and the other are demons.
We finally made it to the sea of shipwrights, transport, and commerce, Water Seven, it appears the entire city was built on previous cities as one slowly sinks so the city may be a wonder however it is still mostly submerged, if anything it reminded me of Venice, a city where canals and boats are the main forms of transport, and this one had seven drydocks who were devoted to building, repairing and upgrading ships.
For any man of the sea, this was practically where people go to get their ships repaired, upgraded, and even have new ones built, and for pirates, this was a way to secure our very lives. So I for one being a pirate captain know this better than anyone and thus I respect these men who do this work.
I respect them so much that in fact, I have come for one shipwright, a man who started his own company and in my humble opinion would one day become the very best, and would teach a pair of siblings so much that he would eventually care about them like they were his own kids, I know this is true for Franky, and this time he has a sister, so brother and sister are probably still working and learning at Tom's Works.
I asked the guy who was guiding the boat I was on, after I got off the ship, and asked him to guide me towards Tom's Works, he immediately stopped and looked at me with this utter look of fear and concern, and seeing that I asked him what was wrong? He said simply there is a group that had been trying to get in the way of that workshop for some time, it is almost considered bad luck to do business with them since their clients often end up dead or worse.
I looked at the man and began to laugh, I couldn't help it, it was hilarious that these stooges would think they can get in my way, "I appreciate your concern but in reality, I came to talk with Tom about something important, I know who is behind those acts and who is trying to ruin that business, but Spandam better not get in my way, for he risks face the fury of not only the Elder Stars but also a celestial dragon. "
As I walked towards the business I knew that this message would get to Spandam, after all the guy pretending to be my guide worked for him, and thanks to my observation skill I could tell rather easily who he swore his allegiance to. Spandam is here to obtain the blueprints of Pluton, the idiot never learns, those blueprints are not written anywhere or can be easily stolen, they are in a very safe and valuable place, but if he does as he plans they will be destroyed.
As I knocked on the door I heard a man speak telling me that he was not yet open for business, as I heard him I couldn't help but tell him, I came from very far away to meet the best shipbuilder in the world, so I asked Tom to please open his door and let me talk with him, so I can save his life and the lives of so many people in Water Seven.
The door opened and the man was as large as I remembered, he was a fish man, but you could tell he was stronger than any normal human, "So you came to visit me, do I understand that you wish to be one of my students, from the high praise that is the impression you gave me, but do come in, we can talk more about it in private."
As soon as I walked in and the door closed he grabbed me and asked me point blank if I was with the crooks that were trying to force him to give them his most valuable blueprints, to which it made me laugh, "Of course not, you already got two great apprentices that I could never match in talent, I know about your railroad that you are building or built to travel to nearby islands, and I know who is behind these attacks on your business, no Tom I come to save your life and those who you consider precious."
Tom looked at me with a more calm face and let out a sigh, I guess the acts of that band of criminals are really getting to him, "Sorry about that, they had tried that fake praise approach before, and I was worried you were one of them. might as well ask what are you offering to do,, and how are you going to save my guys?"
I laughed and told him it was rather simple, I would pretend to be an apprentice to him or one of his two students, it was high time I learn some ship repair and maintenance techniques, after all, I am the Pirate Prince and future Pirate King, it would not hurt to learn, and while I do that I will wait for Spandam and his thugs to come and attempt to attack you, they will face not only my skills but my might, and if they don't stop what they are doing, well a watery grave is the only thing in their future.
Tom asked me how could I say this since these men are more powerful than marines, they are extremely powerful and dangerous they even destroyed a ship that he and the others had finished constructing with nothing more than their bare hands. I couldn't help but laugh hearing him say this. "It doesn't matter what they try to do, they will not succeed, and you can believe me when I tell you that you never had a friend like me."
Tom always being cautious asked me what would he have to do for this help, and I told him that as the Pirate Prince I need a shipwright to take care of my Armada and since the Armada's main purpose is to stop any dangerous crew on these seas, it means we will end up in combat and in very dangerous situations, so having someone to repair our ships is essential if not vital.
He asked me why would the World Government allow my Armada to do that? I laughed and told him quite simply because the Elder Stars are members of the Armada, to begin with, and I have their full backing and support. It is a check on the power of the Marines and on the Celestial Dragons, and I can do this because I am a Celestial Dragon of a rather high standing.
"So don't worry I can take care of CP agents with little to no trouble at all, now how about you introduce me to your students, and I get started working here while I wait for these morons, to come and attack this place, as for what I would have you do is to fix a ship I bought recently it needs major repairs and upgrades, but you made the ship of the previous Pirate King, who could I ask to upgrade my ship better than you?"
Tom began to rub the back of his head and told him to knock it off with the flattery, if he managed to defeat and stop the fools that were after him, his apprentices and friends, he could safely say that he got him to join his Armada and he would do his very best to keep those ships in tip-top shape.
Well, that is exactly what I wanted to hear as he began to teach me the intricate and very interesting work of repairing and maintaining a ship, which made me wonder how in the world the Going Merry survive so long without a proper shipwright, it was an extremely well-built ship, but now thanks to Tom it will be even better.
