What and if He is
As an actual reigning being, God would be our dictator, our life source, our law. His book illustrates the ideal way to live. It maps out the courses each human life should take. Unconditional love for all people, self sacrifice, mental purity, and serving Him.
But as a figment of the human imagination, God is merely the main character in a well written story book. In this book God is the invincible hero, the Disciples are his loyal sidekicks, and the Devil is the un-victorious enemy. God is the novel character who symbolizes hope in the eyes of themasses. God is the comic book hero who symbolizes strength in the eyes ofinnocence. He is unbelievable, invincible, an all powerful dictator.
But do those who follow God through life even know what orif he is? Could the origin of their faith possibly be derived from the selfishness and fear that their God crippled them with?
The journey with God through life has one destination: eternal life seated at his right hand. Within the duration of this journey you are granted with happiness and hope. And aren't these three things part of the purpose of your expedition? Your happiness, your hope, your seat atGod's right hand.
But He who has infested you with the parasite of selfishness has also been infected by this same pest. What is God asking for in return? He is asking to be worshiped by all people. He is asking for life long devotion. God is asking/demanding that you do as he says or face eternal damnationin Hell. Could this mean that God is no more of a divine being than you or I?
And what is to be said for those of us who believe God is no more than a story book hero. Is it your fear of disappointment, your discarded innocence that feeds this belief?
Are you afraid that God won't be there when you passon, that if you spend an entire lifetime worshiping a questionable beingthatyour deepest fear will be a reality? That there is no life after death.Andwhat of every human's born innocence? Have those of you that haveshunned the love of God denied yourselves the hearts and imaginationof a child? Do you also fear the parental control that is part of thissublime package? Does the human hunger for independence overpower the thirstfor guidance?
But why you believe that your existence on earth is credited to nothing is a question that has yet to be answered. You link your existence to science, but science has yet to produce a theory for the origin of life on earth. So if you have faith that human existence is linked to science, why is it that you cannot have faith that human existence is linked to ahigher power, such as God? Is this also caused by an abundance of fear anda lack of imagination?
So in conclusion I state that my purpose is unexplainable, but my final question is simple. What does God mean to you, and why do youor don't you believe?
