Chapter 1 of The Road to Pokemon
As Nathan and Joe walked out of New Bark Town their mom called them back and gave them $1000 each and a Potion each. They started walking towards Cherrygrove then but they had to train their Pokemon before they got there. They both walked into opposite plains of grass then searched for wild Pokemon. Nathan got into a battle first.
"Hey! Look I found a Sentret! Cyndaquil attack it for experience!" Shouted Nathan.
Cyndaquil ran into Sentret and tackled it. Sentret then charged into Cyndaquil with Tackle and they kept using Tackle till Sentret fainted. Meanwhile Joe's Bulbasaur had beaten a Rattata and Bulbasaur gained 3 levels and Cyndaquil gained 2 levels. They were now Cyndaquil level 8 and Bulbasaur level 9.Bulbasaur learned Leech Seed! Cyndaquil learned Smokescreen! The boys walked on to Cherrygrove and headed to the Pokemon Centre.
"Hi! I'm Nurse Joy and I'll heal your Pokemon! Just sit down over there and they'll be right back." Said the Nurse.
"Ok fine." Replied Nathan and Joe simultaneously.
The nurse brought back the Pokemon and the brothers headed to the Mart.
They bought 5 Pokeballs and 2 potions each. As they headed outside, the girls approached them again.
"Hah! We will fight you again and defeat you!" Screamed the girls.
"My name is Jill and my Squirtle will destroy you!" Said one girl.
"And my name is Olivia and my Chikorita will beat your ass so bad!" Replied the other girl.
As Squirtle Level 10 battled Cyndaquil level 8 and Cyndaquil lost, Chikorita level 7 was fighting Bulbasaur level 9 and Chikorita lost.
Bulbasaur gained 3 levels and learned Vine Whip and then Joe challenged Jill and her Squirtle to a battle. Jill's Squirtle was level 12 and Bulbasaur was level 12 also. Bulbasaur won because of Vine Whip, otherwise it was an even battle.
Bulbasaur gained 1 level and then the girls ran away.
