The Professors Secret: Part 4
I couldn't believe the house Ryan had slapped before us. It was a beautiful red brick mansion with a white roof. It had a wood deck in front with red and white lawn chairs.
We landed in front of the steps that led up to the deck and walked up. Bubbles lay on a lawn chair closed her eyes and seemed relaxed for the first time that day. It had been really weird for her just trying to face reality. But it was expected of her. I was beginning to feel suspicious, so I waited until Ryan went to check around and I called a meeting.
"I can't believe you're suspicious of him." Buttercup shouted.
"He Wisk's us away to a new home acting like were all one big happy family," I retorted, "and how do we know he's really who he says he is?"
"Blossom," She stated in her defense, "why don't you just follow your instincts like me?"
"No thanks," I answered, "and don't blame me when you follow your instincts off a cliff."
"HEY, LISTEN TO ME!" Bubbles screamed in her high pitched squealing voice. We had to listen to what she had to say our eardrums depended on it.
"Why don't we listen to the other half of that disc we found?" She explained.
"That's a great idea," Buttercup exclaimed. "But do you have it?"
"No," Bubbles smiled, "But at least it's an idea."
Slapping our foreheads in exasperation we ended the meeting and waited for Ryan's return.
"I'm back," Ryan flew onto the deck and ushered us into the house, "I'll show you guys your rooms."
He led us through the front door and into the living room furnished with a green leather couch and two green leather armchairs with built in cup holders all surrounding a huge fireplace.
We went through a wood door to the left of the front door into a beautiful bedroom with three canopy beds with red, green, and blue sheets, pillows, and blankets. By each bed there was a wood dresser with three drawers each. Ryan gave us a tour of the room and told us where everything was. He told us where his room was and where the kitchen and bathroom was and then told us he would cook dinner but we were too tired and went to bed.
I lay awake unable to sleep in the beautiful bed that was given to me on a platter. We had to sleep in our clothes because our nightgowns had been destroyed in the blast. I tiptoed out of the room careful not to wake my sisters.
I went into the living room to spot a fire in the fireplace illuminating the dark room. I went over to the couch to sit by the fire but found that a light blue electric guitar had already taken the space. Unable to resist I picked it up and played the chords to my favorite song and sang the words as I played it:
You and me,
We used to be together,
Everyday together,
Always.
I stopped to hear the sound of clapping echoing through the dimly lit room. I turned to see Ryan clapping and leaning on an armchair.
"You're pretty good with my old guitar." He smiled.
"Oh," I put the guitar down; "It's yours. I'm sorry."
"No, it's alright," He grinned, "How did you learn to play?"
"Well, I sort of taught myself," I said, "I really like No Doubt."
We conversed about our musical tastes and playing styles until I fell asleep on the couch. Ryan covered me with a blanket and left. I had made up my mind; we would stay with Ryan. That was what everyone probably wanted, and I honestly thought that we had connected in a way that only brother and sister can.
So we lived together with Ryan and grew closer and closer to him. And even after 7 years our bond was as strong as ever. But we never knew that three others whom we knew were slowly rebuilding their own lives as well.
I do not own No Doubt, "Don't Speak", or the powerpuff girls.
