I can't stand it, watching you this way.
When we were together, you always had this look in your eyes like you had everything you ever wanted. Like us just being together simply lit up your life, and you didn't need anything more-love was the only thing that was important.
Now I can't even bear to look at you-you look so different, like your very world has crumbled just because it appears I'm not in it. But I'm here. If you would just stop focusing on the depression for one moment, you would feel my presence.
And you act as though we'll never see each other again. You've forgotten that in a while, we'll be together for eternity. Forever and always. Yes, it seems as though our meeting is too far from now to even think about, but then we have forever together, and that easily makes it worth the wait.
My biggest fear is that when you finally do join me here, you'll have found someone else to love. But if she makes you happy, it's worth my losing you. Your happiness means everything to me, Christian.
I'm eternally grateful for meeting you. To think that I almost died without knowing love, believing it was just a game. Even though it was a shorter amount than I'd have liked, my time with you was the most perfect, blissful, heavenly time of my life. You taught me so much-that I was a real person, not just something to be bought. Your love made me feel a million times more valuable than any of the money I ever made indulging foolish fantasies of men.
I WILL love you until the end of time, Christian. And I know that you will love me as well.
Even something as powerful as death can't ruin a love like ours.
"How wonderful life is, now you're in the world."
Those words won my heart, and I'll never forget them. It seems that you aren't forgetting them, either. They're holding you back.
Make your life wonderful, even though, physically, I'm not with you. Write something beautiful. Let yourself live.
And when it's over, I'll be right here waiting.
I love you.
Always,
Satine
