Seasons May Change
a fanfic by She's a Star
Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me except the story idea. And I made up Christian's last name, even though it isn't mine.

She was dressed in a gown of snow white silk. All around her, people chattered merrily, oblivious to the fact that she stood there. Suddenly, a piano began to play, causing the crowd to grow quiet. She eyed Christian-he looked so nervous! Nervous, but happy.
She stepped closer to him, her footsteps perfectly in time to the piano. In what seemed like an eternity, she reached him. His beautiful eyes sparkled with excitement, and it was all she could do not to reach out and touch his face. Memories flooded through her mind, each bringing a fond smile to her lips.
The priest began to speak.
"Do you, Christian Van Halen...."
She stared at him affectionately as he listened to the priest. Oh, she loved him. More than anything. How badly she wanted to kiss him, right then and there.
"...as long as you both shall live?"
"I do," his voice rang out confidently. The priest then repeated the procedure, and his bride answered "I do" as well.
He stared lovingly into her eyes, and she felt her heart start to race. She loved the affect he had on her. He leaned closer, and she sighed.
Then, with great difficulty, she stepped aside so he and the beautiful, petite blonde that was now his wife could share a kiss. As the guests burst into applause, a single tear slid down Satine's cheek.
"It's for the best," she whispered to herself as more tears fell from her blue-green eyes. "As long as Christian is happy, that's all that matters."
When the couple broke apart, Christian was staring at his wife, his eyes full of wonder, contentment, and above everything, love.
He used to look at her that way.
She'd always look at him that way.
She wiped away a tear, then opened her mouth and began to sing a song that no one could hear.
"Seasons may change
Winter to spring
But I love you
Until the end of time."
And with that she walked over to him, kissed him gently on the cheek, and whispered, "I love you Christian."
A hurricane of sparkles and flecks of diamonds surrounded her, and when it disappeared, she had as well.
Christian closed his eyes, and in his mind a picture of an ivory-skinned woman with flowing red hair formed
"I love you," he whispered, not to his new wife, but to a love he'd lost so many years before.
"I love you until the end of time."
