The next day, the little girl woke up and found herself on a bed, with an old
woman sleeping on the chair next to her. Her brilliant green eyes scan the room
she was in. It was just a plain village bedroom. With a bed in the middle, a
dresser, a nightstand, and a small writing table on the corner. The little girl
tried to move her body, but it was useless. She tried one more time and still,
she couldn't move. Almost her entire body wrapped in bandages. Her messed hair
was also cut short and neat.
The old woman woke up and smiled at her.
"So you have awakened my child."
The girl started to move again.
"Don't move. Let your body rest. You were found in critical condition last
night. The woman explained."
"I....have...to go.." For the first time, the girl spoke. Her voice
was small like a whisper.
"Where? Do you have a home?" she asked.
The little girl shook her head.
"Where are your parents?" the old woman asked again.
The girl shook her head again and stared blankly towards the ceiling.
"I don't have anything..."
The woman looked at the little girl with sad eyes.
"You can stay with us if you want." She offered.
"No...I can't...It will be dangerous for you." The girl talked with a
frightened tone.
"And why is that?"
"I'm sorry, but I can't tell you. I have to go now." She started to
sound like grown up now. Her tone was firm and none of a little 6 years old kid's
tone.
There were concerns in the woman's deep brown eyes. She knew that it was better
to let her do what she wanted to do, for it looked like an important thing for
the girl. But still...
"You can go, but stay here until you fully recover"
"What's your name little girl?"
"My name....is...Aelia.."
"That's a lovely name. Your mother had chose the..."
The woman realized she had said something improper.
"I'm sorry.."
"Never mind." The girl quickly replied, relieving the woman from her
guilt.
"I'll stay here for a while. Thank you for your offer." She smiled,
but deep in her heart, she was scared. Fully aware of what may come if she stays....
