He sat there in his room all alone. People said that Squall was the one
with all the carefully constructed walls around him; always locking
people out. They were too hooked on analyzing him to notice someone
else. He layed there on his bed with his face buried in the sheets and
tears finally finding their release. In truth, it was his personality
that he used to keep people away, only allowing a few to be near him.
Still, even with his friends, he kept his true self locked away...
It was a game he played. Like hide and seek. He hid, and hoped that
no one else would seek him out. He wanted to be himself, but he wasn't
sure how..or what to do.
"Whatever..." he said as he finally got up off the bed.
'I'm starting to sound like Squall...'he thought. He did admire Squall
but a part of him was jealous..even if Squall did have problems. But
then again so did he. He left his room and went to his afternoon
class. Quistis was teaching again. Something about junctioning...he
wasn't really listening. He sat there and observed the other people
around him.
Selphie was giggling about something..trying hard not to laugh so
that Quistis would get mad at her. Irvine was doodling in his notebook,
Zell was out sick, and Squall was holding Rinoa's hand as she leaned
against him while they listened to Instructor Trepe.
'Of course...puberty boy gets everything..' he thought as he eyed
Rinoa and Squall together.
'Wait a minute...that's not really me...I'm just taking it out on
them.' He knew the only reason why he was always bothering others was
because he was not happy himself...it was a way to distract himself
from his true feelings. He was surprised that they even let him back
in Garden after all that had happened...after all he did...
"Ok, you can all go now but remember to study for the junctioning
test," Quistis said to them all as they left the classroom. Seifer
just stayed behind and sat there, deep in thought.
"Mr. Almasy, what are you doing still here?" Quistis asked him.
He looked up at her and the pain was evident in his eyes.
"..Nothing Instructor..." he got up to leave but she pulled on his
sleeve.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Seifer...I know there's something wrong. Whether you want to
admit it or not..I can tell."
"Whatever..I can't tell you..you wouldn't get it," Seifer said and
left. Quistis stood there thinking it out.
