AN: Woohoo! This is a random
thing I came up with after looking at the Rayearth2 art book I bought at A-Kon
for far too long! It's dedicated to Mitsi-chan, who was thoroughly creeped out
by the inspiring pic; and to Eiko who'll probably never read this because
Jarvey-Girls don't have internet access. But Eiki's mom took me to A-Kon, so
this is for her!

DISCLAIMER: Magic Knight
Rayearth and Rayearth2 belong to CLAMP, as does
the pic that inspired this fic. But I own this little
bit of pointlessness I wrote, kay?
A Day in the Life of a Mashin
An artbook-inspired fanfic by
Sakuya Hecila
Umi
Ryuuzaki stared up at Selece from her cell inside the Chizetan battleship.
"I want to know what you did during those long, long years!"
*********FLASHBACK*********
Selece,
with the other two Mashin, Rayearth and Windam, skipped merrily through a
field. No one saw them here, except, of course, Mokona. The Creator did as it
liked. This was the home of the Mashin, where they until needed to guide the
magic knights. Flowers covered the lush green field where the Mashins played,
and a giant swing hung in a tree in one corner.
Rayearth
sat in the swing, smiling and laughing as his friends pushed him. Windam and
Selece also took turns on the swing. Soft, gleeful music played in the
background. After swinging, the Mashins lay in the grass and made flower
chains. They played all day, singing and giggling in the bright sunlight. The
three joined hands in a circle, singing blithely the old rhyme,
"Ring
around the Mashins/Fighting with the Magic Knights/Ashes, ashes, the Pillar
falls down!"

FLASHBACK***********
Selece
said nothing, but the memories remained. Life as a Mashin was joyful, but he
did not know how to explain it to this Magic Knight.
