AN: my friend chloe and i wrote this and honestly i don't know what i was thinking. but, let's see what you think of it, obviously you're experts at fluff- so please review with your thoughts. this is, once again, pure fluff written when we were in "romantic" moods. cheers! oh, and takes place during mwpp.

When there was going to be a ball at Hogwarts, Danielle didn't expect to be asked. She was extremely surprised when she was asked out by Sirius Black, The Sirius Black! Sure, they were friends, but only casually... you know the occasional hello and stuff. So, any way, she was surprised- so surprised that all she could do was give a silent nod.

When the day of the ball came Dana took extra care to prepare- she just had to be perfect! Or rather as close as possible. When she was done she checked herself in the mirror. She looked great, even she had to admit that. Her hair was twisted in an elegant knot and she wore no make-up; only a shiny lip gloss that suited her simple taste. Her gown fit her nicely, clinging to all the right places and flaring at the bottom, and the color complemented her skin tone. Danielle allowed herself a small smile.

Now, when Lily entered the room Dana felt great pangs of jealousy. Lily, now there was a true beauty. Of course, with all the fixing up she looked a thousand times better than usual. It took a moment for Dana to catch her breath. Controlling her envy, Dana finally complimented her best friend. The two then went down to the common room together and all eyes turned in their direction.

As Dana surveyed the room, she noticed that all the boy's eyes were fixed on Lily. Filled with a hopelessness, she looked for Sirius. She found him and was surprised to see him staring at her- his mouth hanging open slightly. It took a moment to register then utter bliss filled Dana as she realized that Sirius... her Sirius, was... well... hers!! He really did care for her, faults and all!!
