Rogue was in a funk. She got out of bed and promptly stubbed her toe on her bedpost. Now being nearly invulnerable saved her toe, but the bed suffered and the portents for a bad day were there. She pulled a robe on over her long t-shirt with a faded picture of Lila Cheney on it. Rogue then plodded downstairs and before she realized what was happening dumped salt instead of sugar into the coffee she poured for herself. "Hey, Rogue." Bobby stepped into the kitchen looking bleary-eyed. "You wanna pour me a cup, too?"
She grinned but hid it in a cough. "Sure, sugah. Ya can have this one, suddenly ah'm in the mood for tea." Rogue stepped into the large pantry and counted down while searching for tea bags. ...Three...two...one... Spluttering and spitting sounds filled the room. Rogue tried to keep it in but her shoulders shook with silent laughter. Triumphantly, she held up a tea bag. She peeked around the corner of the pantry door. Bobby was glaring at her. "What?" Rogue asked, all wide-eyed innocence.
"Ah'm sorry, Bobby. But ah had ta getcha back for that time ya froze tha pool." Rogue filled a cup with steaming water and dipped the tea bag in a couple of times. She sat at the table and noticed how Bobby's hand was twitching. "Ah swear ta God, Robert Drake, if ya freeze mah tea, ya'll be eatin' this mug!" Suddenly, the hand stopped.
"Rogue, whatever would possess you to think I would do such a horrible thing?" He was all wide-eyed innocence.
Suddenly, a gravely voice broke into their conversation: "Mebbe 'cause she knows you, Drake." Rogue smiled at Logan and left the kitchen hearing Bobby offer him a cup of coffee. She sincerely hoped Logan didn't take him up on that offer. They would be picking up ice cubes for the rest of the week.
Rogue settled down in front of the TV. No one was taking over the world today, so she was going to enjoy the downtime. She clicked around for awhile, before settling on Animal Planet. Emergency Vets made her cry every time.
She was enjoying her Animal Planet reverie when the remote was jerked from her hand. Remy stood there, smiling down at her. "Football's on, chere. Take the animals somewhere else." Rogue's eyes widened with astonishment. She was just about to tell Gambit where to stick that remote when an ice cube beaned her in the side of the head. "Oh, no."
Remy watched in amazement as Iceman created an ice slide and swooped from the kitchen and down the hall. Wolverine chased him, claws out and teeth bared. "Should we..."
"Shoot, after all the trouble Bobby's caused around here? I say, let him suffer." Then Rogue pushed Remy with a fraction of her strength and as he fell over yanked the remote from his hand. "As much as ah would love to see all those cute football guys butts, ah was here first, sugah. Go away."
Rogue turned back around on the couch and sighed. She only got out of bed thirty minutes ago...what would the rest of the day be like?? Jean stumbled in, looking bleary-eyed, and Ororo followed shortly after, looking fresh as always.
"We should rent a movie tonight, ladies." Rogue and Ororo groaned, remembering what happened last time they wanted to see a movie...
