You and I
By: Nora
Age: 19
You see a heartless, frigid, ghastly man,
I see a kind, loving, compassionate soul.
You see rudeness, callousness, and blackness,
I see politeness, sensitivity, and light.
You find villainy, cruelty, and deceit,
I find heroics, gentleness, and truth.
You find nothing but a shell,
I find a life waiting to live.
You hope he will have a painful end,
I hope he will never fell pain again.
You hope he will lose what little he has,
I hope he gains what he deserves.
You watch for his failure –his fall from his high pedestal,
I watch for his triumph – his leap to the stars.
You watch for his life to come undone,
I watch for his life to become great.
You hear only what you want – all his lies,
I hear what he has to say – foreshadowing of future times.
You hear only the evil he has done,
I hear what good he will do.
You want to keep him behind his mask,
I want him to remove it.
You want him to be simple – easy to understand,
I want him to be complex – like he is now.
You and I, we are different.
You and I, we see the same man but different qualities.
You and I, we know the same man.
Who is this man?
The one you and I are watching.
Why, you and I, are looking, watching, analyzing the yin and
yang of the Quantum Ranger, Eric Myers.
