"I'm On the Rooftop" (I'm A Believer)
A parody by ChibiMercury
Author's Note: Well, I've developed a sudden, fleeting interest in pop song parodies, so let's seize the moment! This is a Redwall parody of the Monkees' hit, "I'm A Believer" recently redone by Smash Mouth.
Disclaimer: I am not associated with the song "I'm A Believer", the Monkees, Neil Diamond, Smash Mouth, the Redwall series and characters, or Brian Jacques. I just worship them all.
And now, without further ado, on with the parody!
(From Matthias' point of view)
I thought war was only true to Methuselah,
Known to someone else, but not to me.
Martin was out to get me,
That's the way it seems
That dead guy haunted all my dreams.
And then I saw the sword,
Now I'm on the rooftop,
No way down,
I must be insane.
I'm the one,
I'm on the rooftop,
And no one could stop
Me if they tried.
I thought he was just a guy in fairy tales,
A guy we blindly worshiped, oh oh yeah.
What's the use denying,
I'm in for some pain,
I fell in the pond and it started to rain.
And then I saw the sword,
Now I'm in the water,
I'm sinking fast,
I'm gonna drown.
This really sucks....
Where's the Abbot?
This stupid habit is pulling me down.
Oh, the sparrow was out to get me,
That's the way it seems,
More dead guys haunted all my dreams.
And then I came alive,
And now I'm a champion,
Got me a woman,
And a cute little son.
I'm the new Martin,
I'm Redwall's mascot
And I finally got some shoes that fit.
Yeah, I saw the sword,
Now everyone loves me,
Now I can do,
Whatever I want.
Yes, I'm a hero, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yea-a-a-h
Now I'm on the rooftop,
Then I saw the sword, yeah
Now I'm on the rooftop,
Then I saw the sword, yeah
Now I'm on the rooftop...
Well, what'd you think? Was it good? Did it suck? Did you like it? Should I do another? I wrote the whole thing in about 20 minutes, so I know some of the facts may not be totally accurate, but please forgive me. Thanks for reading, and please review! I love reviews because that means e-mail! Yea for e-mail! If you want to just e-mail me instead: bluechibimercury@hotmail.com Thanks again!
