Love Can't Be Broken

Jarod clenched his pillow tightly in his hand. The sweat from his forehead dripped onto the white stained sheets. His eyes closed tight as if he didn't want to see anything bad. He awakes from his dream and scurries to sit up on the cot. He bends to put his head close to his knees trying to regain his thoughts. As he gets up and turns around, three familiar faces await him. He stops. Frightened to move or run, for he knows his life has just taken a downward twist. He knows he is caught for good now.
"Hello Jarod. Remember us?" Miss Parker says with a smile on her face from accomplishment. Sydney and Broots look at Jarod in respect. Jarod looks at Sydney for answers to this awkward situation. He glanced towards the doors with his pale eyes looking for signs of escape only to find Sam and Willie standing there in their black suits. Miss Parker motions with her hand for Jarod to sit. He follows the orders as she has her silver gun pointed at him. "Sam. Tie him up."
Sam casually walks over and pulls out duct tape and tapes his hands behind his back. "Why are you doing this, Parker?" Jarod asks pleading for his freedom. She ignores it because Jarod knows why she does this to him. Sydney and Broots walk out of the building to get fresh air leaving Miss Parker and Jarod together. She sits down in front of him in an old beat up director's chair. He stares into her eyes trying to see the truth behind Miss Parker's anger and rage.
"Do you remember when we met for the first time Jarod?" Miss Parker looks at the ring her mother used to wear on her ring finger of her right hand.
"Yes." Jarod replies trying to figure out where she is going with this.
"Do you remember when we kissed for the first time?"
"Yes." Jarod thinks harder and harder trying to figure out where she is going with the conversation.
"Do you remember the day my mother was killed?" She asks as a tear runs down her pinkish cheek. She takes off the ring and observes it. Jarod looks down at the ring.
"Yes. I remember very clearly in fact." He replies with a glum face.
"I miss her. You know that?"
"I know. I miss my mother also. But you can't give me the freedom to search for her. I never got the chance to even know her. To have that bond like you and your mother had." Jarod struggles with the tape wrapped around his hands. "Do you think if you catch me it will bring you and your father closer together or end the feud with you and Brigitte? It will never happen. Just like the bond I have with the Centre. They will never leave me alone no matter what I find and what I don't find."
"I'm sorry Jarod. For ruining your life. I wish we could just go back to being kids. I could have been there the day before my mother died to warn her and you could have escaped with her and we would be together with our real families." Miss Parker says. Jarod believes she has a heart now. Miss Parker cries more. Sydney and Broots look in to find their resting on each other's shoulders. Miss Parker un-wraps the tape around Jarod's wrist. They hug as they remember the tragedies they've been through.
The End. More soon to come.
