"No! Not my snake," I hear my owner yell.
I slither in a panic in my cage, not used to having my home moved. No, don't take me, I don't want to leave! Unfortunately, snakes can't yell, so my message is not communicated to the ugly human carrying me in my cage. I try to slither more violently. Perhaps he will think I'm poisonous and drop the cage. Okay, that didn't work.
Next, I try barring my nonpoisonous fangs at him, but the human looks on unimpressed. As a last ditch effort, I resort to hissing. Suddenly, the human looks frightened. I hiss a little more and stick my head up towards the top of the cage. The human yelps and drops the cage.
Hahahah, score one for Lucinda! My owner runs over to me and gently picks up my cage, setting it down in my rightful neighborhood on the counter. I look around eagerly for my Piranha friends Chuck and Mabel, but it looks like the ugly humans took them away. I'm going to miss them. We have a very close relationship that has gotten me through some hard times in this vast world known as the Keep.
Gosh, the place looks so empty. The humans took away all the furniture and equipment, and my owner looks quite upset!
I wonder where those two guys that are always hanging around here are? Normally, they make my owner feel better. Okay, sometimes they seem to make her mad, but most times they manage to bring a smile to her face. One of them is really tall and thin, with really interesting brown hair. Giggle. I have a small snake crush on him. But I got a little upset with him when he took away my boyfriend, Darien the rat. But he is just so darn cute I had to forgive him.
The other guy is short and bald. He always makes me laugh! I think he has a crush on my owner. He always stares at her when she's not looking. But then again, so does the tall skinny one. Hmmm, maybe they both have crushes on her? If Chuck and Mabel ever come back, I will have to discuss this matter with them. Mabel has a small crush on the tall one too, but Chuck has eyes for that new woman whose been hanging around. The one with the hair and the…um…well…chest. Just like a Piranha to like a big chest.
"Yes Lucinda, that's a good snake," says my owner as she looks at me with love. Sigh. It warms my little snake heart when my owner talks to me like this. I see two big guys carrying a fish tank back into the Keep. Yeahhhh!!!! Chuck and Mabel are back. My owner must have convinced that fat man to save the animals. Thank goodness!!! Now all I need to completely calm my snake nerves from this harrowing day is to see my skinny big-haired little snake crush! Maybe after all I've been through, he will decide to take me out of my cage and hold me for a minutes like my owner sometimes does. Sigh…a snake can always dream!
