Fowl"

*****
Butler stood in the doorway, watching the boy sleep.
He hadn't been able to wrap his mind around the recent
events, but he secretly found all the trouble had been worth
it. Even if the gold wasn't as much as what he would have
expected for the effort. But his employer's mother had won
back her sanity.
He quietly walked into Artemis's room and sat down at the
edge of the bed next to the sleeping boy.
Butler trusted this boy with his and his sister's life. And
he was sure that Artemis trusted him just as much.
Brushing a stray lock out of the pale face, he leaned
forward and placed a kiss on the boy's forehead. Juliet was
right, he was much too emotional for a bodyguard. Good
thing only few people had witnessed it. And only two lived
to tell.
Smiling, he tugged the blanket up over Artemis's shoulder.
"Good night, sir." and with that he left the room.
"Good night, Butler." was whispered into the room after the
door had been closed.

end.
