I left my window open tonight
So that if I woke up from my dreams,
I could look out into the rain
and still see us there...
You holding me in your arms,
Pulling me close to you as we dance,
Compelled to never let each other go...
The vision vanishes,
And we weren't there.
Never have we dance under the moonlight.
Never felt the rain pour down.
Together.
It seemed that I needed you so much,
How I wondered living through each day,
Without knowing you.
I know your voice so well,
I could easily pick it out in a million.
I know your laughter,
I could recognize it anywhere.
I even know your voice when you smile,
It seemed beautiful...
How can anyone be so lonely?
And miss someone so much?
Someone who means lots to me.
Someone whom I treasure.
Someone whom I might even give up my life for.
Although we might be miles apart,
You never knew this.
I carry you with me...
In this little place called my heart.
You have become a part of me,
A part I would never survive without.
So now I lie here...
and listen to the rain falling outside my window.
I look out and for a split second I see us there again.
And then my gaze moves up to the ceiling.
Searching for your smile.
I close my eyes.
And listen for your voice.
I thought I heard it.

I open my eyes and look around.
However, surprisingly,
I am alone, yet again.
And now here I am...
Another sleepless night...
