Sparring

Disclaimer: I don't own Kenshin or Kaoru or the anime they star in I'm poor, goddammit!

AN: I actually thought of this fic when I came across Ancient Lady's '100 Methods…' I have yet to present it to her. ( I'm mostly too scared that she'll reject it @_@ ) Anyway, hope you enjoy this is my first one-shot, and my first RK fic(let).

P.S. I haven't finished watching it yet so if anything doesn't make sense, that's why.

Sparring

Eyebrows furrowed in concentration, she planned her next move. Kaoru swung her wooden sword purposefully at her opponent. He's too fast! She thought to herself, as she tried yet again to hit him.

"You're not cooperating, Kenshin," she scolded. "You said you'd help me."

"Aa, Kaoru-dono, that I did. But you have no defense. I twould not be right for me to strike you." Kaoru flushed with indignation.

"What did you say?! Are you saying that you won't fight me because I'm too weak?! She attacked again, full-force.

"N-no Kaoru-dono, that's not it at all."

"So then fight me, you baka."

"Hai, Kaoru-dono." She swung at him, and instead of dodging as he had been doing before, he blocked her swing with his own sword.

"That's more like it." Clack, Clack, Clack.

"Kaoru-dono, you are still leaving yourself wide-open to attack, that you are."

"What do you mean?" Clack. Poke.

"Eee!" she squealed. "What did you do that for?"

"Oro? To show you how easy it is for me to strike. Because you have no defense, I can even tickle you."

"Why you—" she charged at him, only to be blocked and tickled once again.

"Kenshin," she growled, in between giggles. He stopped.

"Do you see now?" She reached out to tickle him and he jerked away. He's afraid?

"Kenshin, you're ticklish." She announced as the delightful realization dawned upon her.

"That I am not," he lied.

"Then why aren't you letting me touch you?" she questioned, her hands grabbing at air as he avoided her fingers as if they were hot pokers.

"Ano, that is…" she took advantage of his confusion and glomped him, toppling him to the ground.

"Gotcha, " she flashed a triumphant, yet mischievous smile as she proceeded to tickle him mercilessly.

"Kaoru-d—heehee, hoho, hahaha, please—" He squirmed beneath her. She paused.

"Give up?" Before she could even wait for an answer, he had flipped their positions. Now, he was on top.

"As I said, Kaoru-dono, you have no defense. You leave yourself wide-open to attack." He commenced tickling her once again. She giggled and squealed,

"I give up." She finally called out between laughing, "I give up." He stopped and looked at her as she recovered from her giggles. Her eyes were bright with laughter and her cheeks flushed from exertion. She was breathing deeply, trying to catch her breath. Her chest moved up and down in a hypnotic manner, and before he could realize what he was doing, his lips had covered her smiling red ones. Her eyes widened in surprise, then closed lazily as their lips brushed gently against each other. He raised his head with his eyes still closed as if savoring the moment. Or was he afraid he would see anger in her eyes? He needn't have worried, for Kaoru's eyes were smiling up at him when he finally opened his own to look at her. Her complexion reddened as Kenshin smiled at her. He reached out his hand to help her off the ground, which she accepted gratefully.

"I think I should prepare lunch, that I do," he spoke cheerily. Kaoru nodded in agreement. They walked out of the dojo together, still holding hands.
