Everyone around me seems to have this amazing hold on their life. In reality, we slide behind the cold walls of fabulous manors, and lose our grip. Everything in our seemingly perfect lives unfolds behind the large doors and falls apart. In the morning, though, we put on our masks, and start the tedious cycle again and again.

Then Rory stepped into the cold halls of Chilton, and changed everything. She makes me believe that I could change, become someone that doesn't have to wear a mask. She makes me believe that I could have no money at all, but as long as I had her, I would be fine. She makes me want to be a better person than I am. That's a scary thought.

When you're scared, you do stupid things, though. Instead of welcoming Rory into Chilton, I pushed her away. Instead of trying to become her friend, I settled for mortal enemy. I tried to put up a shield between her and I, because I figured that we were two different people, from two different walks of life. It would never work out.

Then everything seemed to be fitting into place. The missing pieces of the puzzle were starting to show up. I opened up to her, I kissed her, we were friends for those couple of days, then I switched into idiot gear. Right when the pieces of the puzzle were coming together, I decided to be like a child who couldn't get his way, and knock the puzzle off the table, scattering the pieces all over again.

A/N: There is more! This was pretty much the beginning where Tristan kinda narrates it all. Please review it and tell me what you think, it means a lot to me. Thanks.
