A/N: I realize that it may be in slightly bad taste to parody this song NOW, but my band has ditched all other songs we were planning on playing
in favor of more patriotic songs than I knew existed. I was really looking forward to playing a West Side Story show and Swing Swing Swing
('cuz us saxes would've gotten our own special platform to stand on!) Anyway, that's not really important, but I just thought that I should explain WHY I was parodying this and how I don't intend to be unpatriotic or anything.

And I had to start again with just my roll-step and my lyre
I'd thank my lucky stars to be marching here today
'cause my band still marches onward and they can't take that away
And I'm proud to be in my marching band where at least I know I'm me
And I won't forget the seniors who've gone and I miss dearly
And I'd gladly march out in the elements and support my football team
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love my band...God bless us kids who play!
From endzone down to endzone, from insert to insert
From chart to chart to chart again, all on the football field
At rainy and at sunny games, in practice every day
Well, there's pride in ev'ry marching band heart, attention, band, and say
That I'm proud to be in my marching band where at least I know I'm me
And I won't forget the seniors who've gone and I miss dearly
And I'd gladly march out in the elements and support my football team
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love my band...God bless us kids who play!
