Author's Notes: This is my own universe--Mitch decided to happily go along with his deal with the Devil and ends up in a very strange town.
Disclaimer: I own no one (Mmm…James Marsters times two) and the Devil -DOESN'T own my soul, so I can write whatever I damn well please!

"Finally, a night off," Buffy sighed, praying that she didn't just jinx herself.
"Yeah, but why did the fanged one have to come," Xander whined as he returned with their drinks. Spike glared at him, but remained silent.
"I heard the lead singer is *totally* hot…in a not-my-type, male kinda way," Willow ended weakly, as Tara mock-glared at her.
Spike spoke up suddenly, "I just don't get it."
"Yeah, Spike," Xander cracked, "Harmony dumped you."
"I dumped her and that's not what I meant, moron. I meant that I don't understand why Mitch Brand would play here. Everybody wants him, but he comes to this little 'burb to play in this dive."
"Ya' know, that actually makes sense," Buffy remarked.
"Ooh," Willow squealed. "The band's coming onto the stage!"
Tara quipped, "Considering how dark it is in here, I'm surprised you…can…tell…" They were all silent with shock as they saw who was on the stage.
It was Spike. They looked to where Spike sat between Tara and Xander. No, not Spike.
Spike stared at the man upon the stage. "Is that what I look like?"
"Yep," Xander replied, "'cept you don't have any roots showing."
"How can this be," he asked no one in particular.
None of them said another word until the band finished their final set.

"How was tonight, Mitch," Simon asked, as he always did.
Mitch smiled and started walking toward the bar. "Perfect, as usual."
"There are a few things I think you should know about this town; you'll be here for a while."
"What're you talking about? I'm here for tonight, that's all."
"Now that's where you're wrong. You see, things are going to be…different from now on."
"As if this deal wasn't bad enough," Mitch muttered under his breath. "So what's going on?"
"All will be known in time. Just have patience."
Mitch sighed as his manager left the room.
