Have I deceived so many

This is merely a rewrite of my last preview. Hopefully this will be better.

He wondered how he had got here, stuck in this scrape. He thought his disguise had been good enough, he had studied his enemies appearances thoroughly enough, so how could they see through it? Unless his main enemy had turned him in. So what if he had married his sister. So what if they weren't the same species? That he was born differently? That they had hated each other's guts for most of their lives, and the part that they hadn't they hadn't known each other existed?

He loved her. And why should he? After all, he had hated this race for so long. So long… Murino looked up at his father, wondering why he was so sad. He reached up and put a tiny, gloved hand on his face, the only way he could comfort his father. He didn't remember his mother, and if he did, he never acknowledged it.

He suddenly started, and started his frantic whispering again.

"Bad! Bad!" But this time, he looked around, and gave out a happy cry as he saw someone he recognized. "Nle!" His father didn't know what that meant, unless it was… He looked up from his hiding place, and saw the last thing he'd ever hope to see. The face of his wife's brother, and he looked, somehow, different, depressed somehow. So much different from the egomaniac he had once been. He watched as his wife's brother came into the building he was in, looking around. For him. "Well, I might as well see what he wants." He thought, and stepping out of the shadows, challenged:

"Well, what do you want?"
