I see her every night in my dreams. Lady Amalthea. The unicorn…no. She is Amalthea. She will always be Amalthea in my eyes. Not the unicorn.
She is the beautiful woman I loved the moment I met. And in my heart, she will always be.
I did everything I could to win her heart. I killed five dragons, swum five rivers,
climbed seven mountains…any other maiden would have fallen for me. Any one but her. She just
stared out of the window at the sea, as did my father.
I never stop thinking of her. When I look at the sea, I remember the Red Bull, all the unicorns he trapped there. She came to save them,
to set them free. But she changed. She had been a woman for too long. Her eyes…my father noticed that they had become empty, as empty as human
eyes. She began talking to me, then loving me.
She didn't want to change back. She wanted to stay on with me, as a woman. My woman.
It was not to be. It was never to be. She turned back into herself-the unicorn. She saved the other unicorns, all of them. I was no use.
I couldn't protect her. She saved me.
The Red Bull killed me. She healed me, touched me twice, with her horn. I woke up and saw her in front of me. She was the most beautiful
creature I ever saw and ever will see.
I still see her every night in my dreams. She calls to me. She wants me to go with her, run with her through her forest. Then I wake up
and find out it's just a dream.
Maybe this dream will come true. Dreams are magic. They will come true, if you believe in them. I will wait.
I still wait. Hoping, wishing she will come back to me.
