Castlevania: Rise of the Dark Lord

Castlevania: Rise of the Dark Lord.

                      Prologue.

Within the halls of Castlevania, dreaded palace of evil, the insane howls of the dead could be heard. They called out to their master to awaken him from his century long sleep.

"Rise O' Lord of Darkness. Wrap this world in chaos." The dark priest, Shaft, stood before his master's coffin. The body of an unconscious girl lay on top of the lid.

"With this virgin's blood be reborn." Shaft took an ancient dagger from one of the cloaked men kneeling and chanting on the floor. Shaft grasped the dagger in both hands and raised it above his head. "The time is neigh! Rise Dracula, lord of demons, show these mortals fear once again!" With those words, Shaft brought the dagger down into the young girls chest.

Meanwhile….

Alucard, the half- breed son of Dracula, awoke from his eternal slumber from a nightmare. One that would plague him for the rest of his life. As he sat up, he banged his head on the lid of his coffin. Muttering a curse, he lifted the lid with one hand and rubbed his forehead with the other. As he stepped out of his bed, he was greeted by his familiars. The fairy Gwenatha, Fidget the imp, the floating sword Anorak, Ash the ghost, and last but certainly not least, Flick the bat. Though Alucard knew their names he never used them, he preferred to refer to them by what they were.

"Wonderful to see you master!" Fairy exclaimed. She flew over to him and seated herself on his shoulder. As soon as she sat her tiny body down she was braiding his hair.

Alucard raised his eyebrow at the gesture. "Comfortable?" The fairy nodded. The half-breed shook his head and turned his attention to his other familiars. "What year is it?"

"Not a clue master." Imp answered, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head. "Is it time for another adventure?"

"I do not know, but there must be a reason I have awaken." Alucard said. He headed towards the door, causing Fairy to fall from his shoulder with a gasp. The iron door to his crypt opened with a rusty groan. Alucard climbed the stair to the outside world, a place he had not seen for a long time, his familiars followed. Upon reaching the fresh air of the countryside, Alucard was hit with a sudden feeling, one so strong he reeled from it.

"Master are you alright?" Sword asked. Alucard turned around. The look of worry and confusion on his face made them uneasy. Never before had they seen their master that way. "Master what is wrong?" Asked Fairy.

"Death … everywhere. All I can sense is death." Alucard looked over the barren wasteland that was once lush green pastures.
