As promised, this picks up immediately after Implied Consent.

Sunlight was streaming through the window when Sharon woke to find herself curled up in the arms of Andy Flynn. She looked for the clock, and then realised it was Sunday morning. They'd made it through the weekend that far without a call out. She was reluctant to wake him. He looked so peaceful with the light dancing along the silver in his hair. Turning herself around to face him, without disturbing him too much, she traced circles on his chest.
"Andy..."
"Hmm?" he answered and opened his eyes just enough to see her looking up at him.
"As much as I don't want to move, if I go home in the afternoon, still in the clothes I had on yesterday, Rusty is going to demand an explanation I'm not ready to give him yet."
Andy groaned "five more minutes?" and pouted like a sulking five-year-old, which had her laughing at him instantly. She laid her head against his chest "five more minutes."
"So... no lasagne breakfast?" he asked chuckling.
"Well... we could bring it with us, and have it with a salad for dinner..." she let the suggestion trail off.

Andy looked at her pointedly and asked "Was that a B.Y.O. dinner invitation Captain?"
"I believe it was Lieutenant, as long as you don't mind Rusty's company."
"I have no issues with the kid Sharon. He's come a long way in a short time."
"I guess that's dinner settled then" she said and started to get up before she realised she would need the sheet. Andy saw the thought go through her head, and grabbed for the sheet at the same time and held it.
"Five more minutes" the puppy-dog eyes pleaded with her as he pulled her back toward him.
"And you said I was trouble!" she answered. "I just hope Rusty's not home before midday" she added before she gave in.

It was just shy of 12 noon, as Andy pulled into the guest parking.
Sharon let out a sigh of relief as she noted that Rusty's car wasn't in his spot. "Oh thank God" she smiled as Andy rounded the car to open her door.
"You know, I am quite capable of opening the door myself." she told him with a smirk.
"You know, my father taught me how to be a gentleman, and although I am acutely aware of how capable you are, it's a quirk of mine you should probably get used to because it's become a habit." he raised both hands as if to say "so there".
"Here I was thinking chivalry was dead" she said with an exaggerated eye-roll as they approached her front door. "Ok first thing I'm doing is changing. If you want to put coffee on, that'll prevent either of us falling asleep" she told him with a knowing look.
"Sure thing boss" he saluted her.

Andy had just finished setting the coffee machine and putting the lasagne in the fridge, when Rusty walked in the door.
"Oh. Hi Lieutenant! Where's Sharon?" he asked, seeming a little surprised to find Andy in their kitchen.
"Uh, I've only been here five minutes Rusty. She said something about getting changed and disappeared."
Rusty eyed him with suspicion, but couldn't put his finger on why he felt something was a little off.
"So, how did your shopping trip go yesterday Lieutenant?"
"Pretty good kid. I got a few more gifts out of the way. How was your party?"
"Yeah, it was surprisingly good. I should have been home much earlier, but we stayed a lot later than I thought we would and I had a hard time waking up this morning" he answered with a chuckle.
"I know that feeling!" Andy answered, thinking about how literally true that statement had been for himself that morning.

"Rusty! Did you enjoy your party last night?" Sharon asked the same question as she walked back toward the kitchen.
"Yeah I was just telling the Lieutenant I had a hard time waking up this morning or I'd have been home much earlier."
Had he just seen a very strange look pass between the two? Rusty was almost sure he had.
"Andy made lasagne and brought it over for dinner tonight. Will you be here?" she asked him.
"Wait. What?" he asked in surprise. "You cook?" he asked as he turned his shocked expression on Andy.
"What is it with you people and cooking? Anyone would think it was as outdated as wind-up watches, from the way you two are shocked." he laughed.
"Well, the only time I've seen Sharon use an oven was to make cookies at Christmas, and I was shocked by that too!" Rusty told him chuckling as he ducked the swipe she directed at his arm. "I'll be here, if only to see living proof that someone other than Gus can use a kitchen" he told them and made his way to his room.

"Well, that was close" Andy said as he pulled her into his arms. "Coffee?"
"Can you put that stuff into an IV drip?" she asked him as he moved to pour two cups.
"Is that a complaint about lack of sleep?" he raised both eyebrows in question, feigning shock.
"Absolutely not!" she answered "But it doesn't mean I'm not tired" she laughed as they sat down with their coffee.
Just as they did, a cell phone started ringing, and both reached into a pocket. Sharon saw Provenza's name on the screen and screwed up her nose, throwing Andy a tired look.
"Don't tell me." is all he said.

"Captain, sorry to interrupt your Sunday, but we have a body." he told her.
"Text me the details and I'll be there as soon as I can" she told him with a sigh and headed for her room to change again.
Andy was about to ask her for the details when his own phone rang showing the same name on the screen.
"What've we got?" he asked as he answered.
"What do you mean, what've we got? How did you know this wasn't a social call?" Provenza asked.
"Uh, lucky guess?" he answered.
"Get the details from that other idiot. You might as well bring her with you" he answered as he hung up in Andy's ear.

As Sharon returned to the room, she noted his frown and asked "Is something wrong?"
"Uh, he told me to get the details from that other idiot, and told me I might as well bring you with me" he told her.
"Idiot indeed! Clearly he has forgotten who his boss is! I'll have to do something about that."
She pulled out two containers and two travel mugs. "He can wait another fifteen minutes for us to get there now" she told Andy as she added lasagne and salad to the containers, and poured their coffee into the mugs.
"Come on, you don't need to change. We were off duty. We might as well go together, because it's not a surprise to anyone that we share dinner occasionally" she smirked.
"Are you sure?" he was hesitant.
"Yes. I'm positive. I'll just tell Rusty we won't be here for dinner after all." she said as she walked down to Rusty's door to let him know they'd been called out.

"Andy" she began, as they rode down in the elevator, "Just because I know how you worry..."
"Me? Worry?" he asked, pretending to be oblivious.
"Yes. You worry. About not being good enough... you know what I'm talking about."
"Well someone told me this morning I definitely was good enough." he answered with a wiggle of both eyebrows.
"I just want you to know I have zero regrets ok? You don't need to spend the rest of today second guessing everything."
He leant down and kissed her, and felt her respond immediately.
They reached the ground floor and smiled at one another as they exited the lift.
Sharon handed him the keys to her car. "Let's take mine, but you drive. That ought to irritate him, without raising suspicion with anyone else."
"Have I told you that I absolutely love the way you think Captain?" he asked.
"Not in those exact words, but I'll take it Lieutenant!" she answered and smiled.

Punching the address Provenza had sent her into the onboard navigation, she gave Andy a run down of the remaining details which his partner had declined to give him, and they headed for the crime scene to meet up with the rest of the team.
