Once again, I'm launching this fic from my Magical Girl SRW projects. You can thank a certain cop series for the idea should the Original Generation cast give you any clues. I'll be doing this while shelving the previous fic I worked on, Magical Girl Convergence, until further notice.

One of the reasons for a project of this roster is the theme of investigating the paranormal or anything strange or alien. In other words, anything to do with extraterrestrials, extra-dimensional beings, the occult, the spirit world, paranormal activity, and surrealism. You can thank a particular famous live-action series for the inspiration, which was the basis of the Original Generation cast and some other series. But the themes fit perfectly with numerous magical girl series, so I decided to explore that.
Next is to press more on writing my original series, Universal Lady Justice Aya, which is also in the roster but starting from the very beginning. After many talks with friends, I returned to writing the first three parts of the series, which was troublesome to incorporate into these projects until now. Throughout the months, I made sweeping revisions that removed elements that were better off in another story (maybe a parallel universe story like Gundam) and overdrive on developing the main fictional setting of Arahi Island and, more importantly, the main cast. The power levels of the magical girls have dropped considerably to the point they would be more balanced with the mentioned AMF antagonists yet respectable heroines in the fight against the larger enemies out there.
Finally, although this is the final roster for this story, this will be the first of two parts. The second one, Magical Girl X-Trials Xtra or MGX-TX, will continue the current roster's stories and add new ones.
Anyway, onto the prologue.
The year is 2084 AD.
The people of Earth have inched ever so closer to the pinnacle of anxiety and hysteria. Long since, they had lived normal lives, which could be proven with science and what could be seen with the naked eye. The world moved past its superstitions, even when faith in the supernatural continued in their culture. Yet those same superstitions that people believed would never happen have returned, shattering the rules of reality.
It started more than 40 years ago when a cataclysmic event known as the First Great Waves occurred in the Pacific Ocean, destroying all the coastal cities that neighbored it. The instance became the first time magic, a power thought to be unreal, started leaking out as a plausible existence. Authorities dismissed this theory at first, never fully confirming its true existence.
The island nation of Japan, the country that suffered the worst damage from the Great Waves, has become the most affected by these supernatural phenomena. Proof of this was an incident 30 years ago known as the Great Fall, where its proud capital of Tokyo collapsed from earthquakes and sank into the ground. No one knows the details or how it happened, but most began to fear the supernatural. It wasn't long until after the New Capital was built that the government took control of the media, turning the entire region and surroundings into a Black Zone where information was monitored and blocked.
Despite these efforts, however, cracks appeared as the people began wondering about more than mere magic. Another series of disasters, the Second Great Waves, spread chaos worldwide. These Special Disasters that occurred 15 years ago and continued for the next three years caused the people to become paranoid, and the existence of magic became more of a public belief. The chain of events has divided humanity among three groups: those who welcomed and favored those who wielded magic, those who distrusted and opposed them, and those caught in the middle, indecisive about where to stand. People even wondered about the origin of their powers, going as far as to believe that beings of extraterrestrial origin that were adversaries of the human race had orchestrated these events. However, these theories must be proven, and the truth was never disclosed.
That is until now, for only one thing was certain. The truth is always out there, and it is never fully hidden.
Now for the cast of the Original Generation. I'll leave it open throughout the fic in case popularity for the routes shift in the middle of it.
Like the usual SRW projects, there will be two routes akin to the Super Robot and Real Robot routes. I'll call them the Terra Route and the Spirit Route this time. Each side will have two protagonists, a magical girl for that theme and an adult investigator who watches over her.
Terra Route
The Terra Route is close to the Real Route, which focuses primarily on extraterrestrials. Therefore, expect any series that involves even a bit of science fiction to fall into this Route, such as Lyrical Nanoha and Figure 17.
For the OG cast of this Route:
Sagasu Kenshirou (謙司郎さがす)- A discredited investigator of Japan's Public Security Intelligence Agency, graduated from Kyoto University and relocated to Hokkaido for misconduct and overstepping his authority within his time in Section 2. Sagasu has been interested in finding evidence of extraterrestrial life since he was a child. His obsession with the truth makes him effective as an officer but also gets him into trouble.
Niko (ニコ)- A young girl, approximately twelve years old, was found by Sagasu in a military aircraft that crashed within Hokkaido. She goes by number #25, but Sagasu calls her Niko due to her uneasy resemblance to his older sister Ichiniko, who disappeared when he was four years old. She is silent and lacks social skills but is effective in combat with weird powers of body and particle manipulation, telepathy, and telekinesis.
Spirit Route
For the OG heroines of this Route:
The Spirit Route deals with anything paranormal or of religious/mythological significance. Even if not directly related to the spirit world, surreal instances that can't be explained would fall into here.
Revolutionary Girl Utena and Black Rock Shooter are two series from the roster that would fall into here.
Naruko Juji (十字なるこ)- A forensic investigator who willingly went to Hokkaido due to the need for such in the region. Naruko is reluctant to work with Sagasu, who serves as his neighbor, due to her disbelief in extraterrestrials. However, she hides that she was born to a Japanese Christian family native to the region, believing a spirit world exists outside their plane of existence. She is currently the parental guardian of Atsuko.
Atsuko Juji (十字淳子)- The adopted daughter of Naruko Juji. Currently nine years old, she attends a nearby elementary school. Naruko took her in due to suffering from freakouts and panic attacks in her orphanage, which she believes is related to paranormal activity. When a military aircraft crashes near her house, this paranormal activity suddenly erupts and manifests into powerful abilities she struggles to control.
So will it be? The alien enthusiast with his sister-lookalike turned experimental soldier? Or the more down-to-earth forensic expert with a girl connected to the spirit world? All up to you in your reviews.
