Naptime

It's after the third time that week that Cyrus falls asleep at his desk that he thinks he maybe, possibly, probably needs a better sleep schedule.

But he can't help it! It's totally not his fault that he found that really interesting book on lightning magic at the library last week! He has to read it from cover to cover and take all the notes he can.

Obviously.

It occurs to him that, even among scholars, he's probably the only person on the planet that finds the effects of lightning magic on the caster and how long their feet will feel staticky after using three fully-boosted lightning spells in a row in one fight interesting, but that makes him all the more determined to learn more!

Even if he's been frequently showing up to class with paper marks on his face.

"Professor, did you stay up past midnight reading again?" Princess Mary asks one day.

"I-I don't think that's good for you," Therese agrees.

Cyrus clears his throat awkwardly. "I appreciate your concern, my girls, but today we need to talk about the history of the Woodlands!"

...He probably needs to get some really strong tea later, though, he thinks as he almost falls asleep writing things on the blackboard.
