Prologue

(Flashback - Third-Person POV)

*A 6 yr old girl with short curled black hair, loose with a portion tied up into a heart-shaped bun held by a red bow with a Mickey Mouse, & a braid pulled back on each side of the head, fair skin, purple eyes, & wearing a purple dress over a white long sleeved shirt, blue pants, & purple shoes (look up "Yumi - 6 yrs old" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt") was sitting on the lap on a man with brown hair, warm ivory skin, brown eyes, & wearing a blue button up shirt, grey pants, & dark grey socks (look up "Kise Yuuichi" on "Pretty Cure Wiki"). A little white kitten with orange & black spots & green eyes (look up "Sphynx" on "Taoru Majutsu no Index" Wiki") was sitting on her lap. They were reading a book together. A woman with black hair in a curled ponytail with a pink ribbon, fair skin, purple eyes, & wearing a white blouse, a navy apron with pockets on the back over denim-blue capri pants, & light blue slippers (look up "Hoshizora Ikuyo" on "Pretty Cure Wiki") was next to them, folding clothes*

(Flashback - Yumi's POV)

Kuroki: Alice in Wonderland, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Snow White, Hercules, and Sleeping Beauty. These are just a few of the many stories told by Disney.

*My young eyes sparkled with childish joy as I looked at the pages of the Sleeping Beauty book my Dad, Momo, & I were reading together. Then a thought crossed my mind*

Little Yumi: Mama. Papa. Do you think the Disney characters were ever real?

Kokoro: Well honey, what would you do if they were real?

*I was quiet for a minute & then I smiled*

Yumi: I would make friends with all of them!

Kuroki: Even the villains?

Yumi: Even the villains.

*Me & my parents laughed. Momo let out a happy pur*

Yumi:*off-screen* That was the last happy memory I shared with my parents.

(Present Time - Yumi's POV)

*Hello. My name is Yumi Kaguya. I'm a 16 year old in my second year of high school. "Today, I was practicing with my school's Archery Club (look up "Yumi - Archery" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt"). I drew my bow string all the way back to my cheek, aimed my arrow at a target about 28 metres away from me, let loose the arrow, & then . . .*

THUNK!

*It hit the center of the target*

Club Member #1: Bullseye!

Club member.#2: That's our ace!

Club Member #3: Kaguya-Senpai is amazing!

Club Member #4: It's because of her that our club will competing in a Kyudo competition this year.

Club Member #5: This will be the first time in ten years.

Club Member #6: I don't know where we'd be without her.

*One of the junior members came up to me with a towel*

Haruka: Here, Kaguya-Senpai, use this towel.

*I took the towel*

Yumi: Thank you, Haruka-Chan

(Third-Person POV)

*Haruka started crying tears of happiness*

Haruka:*in her mind* She knew my name.

(Yumi's POV)

*Once practice was over, I changed into my uniform (which was an ocean blue dress over a white button up collared shirt, a red ribbon around my neck, white tights, & brown shoes (look up "Yumi - School Uniform" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt")) & started to head for home. As I was walking I could hear some of the students whispering about me*

Female Student #1:*whispering* Hey, it's Ghost Girl.

Female Student #2:*whispering* I heard she can see and talk to ghosts.

Female Student #3:*whispering* How scary!

Male Student #1:*whispering* I heard if you get on her bad side, she'll put a curse on you.

Male Student #2:*whispering* I heard that she lives in a haunted house with real ghosts.

Male Student #3:*whispering* Freaky.

Yumi:*in her mind* I can hear you.

*There a lot of students outside of the archery club that were afraid of me, but I didn't care. If they're scared of me, then that's their problem. Besides, I don't need a lot of friends. I'm happy with the ones I already have*

:*off-screen* Hey, Yumi! Wait up!

*I turned around & smiled when I saw the only two human friends I had running towards me. The first one was a girl with dark blue medium-length hair with spiked bangs that were evenly spread out with the split at the middle of her forehead & worn in braided twin tails, light skin, maroon eyes, wearing glasses (look up "Nanase Yui" on "Pretty Cure Wiki") & the same uniform as me. The second was a boy with short brown hair, light skin, blue eyes (look up "Shinada Takumi" on "Pretty Cure Wiki") & wearing a dark blue jacket over a red hoodie, dark blue pants, a black belt with a gold buckle, & black shoes (look up "School uniform" by "MOCHIKA2" on "DeviantArt"). Their names were Ami Kaiou & Hiroshi Todoroki. I've known them since Kindergarten*

Yumi: Hey, guys.

Ami: You excited for the upcoming Kyudo Competition next week?

Yumi: Yep. I just know we're going to win.

*Hiroshi started blushing*

Hiroshi: So . . . Yumi?

Yumi: Yes?

Hiroshi: Do you want to go sing some karaoke with us?

Yumi: Sorry. Can't. I'm going to the hospital before I go home.

*Both Hiroshi & Ami looked sad*

Akira: Oh.

Ami: Tell them we said hi. Okay.

Yumi: I will. See you tomorrow.

Hiroshi: See you tomorrow.

Ami: Bye, Yumi.

*I soon arrived at the hospital. After checking in at the front desk, I made my way to my parent's room. As I was leaving, I could hear the nurses whispering*

Nurse#1: Ten years and she still comes to visit her parents.

Nurse#2: The poor dear.

*My parent's room was on the fourth floor. I entered the room. My parents were laying in bed, with multiple machines strapped to them. I sat on a chair in between both of them*

Yumi: Hello Mom. Dad. Akira and Ami say hi. I know it's been a while since my last visit, but I've been very busy. My Archery Club is competing in a Kyudo Competition next week. I'm really excited. I've been training my magic really hard. My powers have gotten stronger. I've also been helping Grandfather with exorcisms & sealing away evil Yo-Kai. I've also been studying really hard. I got the top spot in exams again. *I started to cry* I know you're both probably tired of hearing me say this, but I wish I was in one of those beds. I miss you both so much, *I looked up at the clock* Oh. I better go. If I get home late, Grandfather will send his Shikigami after me. *I kissed them both on the cheek* I'll see you both soon. I love you.

*I grabbed my bag & left the room*

(Third-Person POV)

*As she was leaving, she didn't notice a single tear go down her Mother's cheek*

*I soon arrived at my house. Which was a shrine (look up "Temple" by "rialynkv" on "DeviantArt")*

Yumi: I'm home! *as I opened the front door, my cat, Momo, (look up "Chachamaru" on "Kimetsu no Yaiba Wiki") was waiting for me. she nuzzled my leg & purred. I bent down to pet her* Hi, Momo.

?:*off-screen* Welcome home, Miss Yumi.

*I looked up from Momo & saw an elderly woman with long gray hair in a bun, fair skin, brown eyes & wearing a white kappogi over a maroon kimono, & white socks (look up "Nagasumi's Grandmother" on "My Bride is a Mermaid Wiki"). It was Ms. Saori, our housekeeper*

Yumi: Hello, Ms. Saori.

?:*off-screen* Yumi. Welcome home, dear.

*I looked up & saw my Grandmother (look up "Yukishiro Sanae" on "Pretty Cure Wiki")

Yumi: Hello, Grandma.

Fumi: I know you just got home, but your Grandfather wants to see you immediately.

*I sighed & put Momo down*

Yumi: Alright.

*I made my way towards Grandfather's room*

*I walked to my Grandfather's room & then kneeled on the floor in front of the door*

Yumi: Grandfather. It's me.

?:*off-screen* Enter.

*I opened the door & found my Grandfather (look up "Myoudouin Gentarou" on "Pretty Cure Wiki") practicing his calligraphy. I bowed*

Yumi: Hello, Grandfather.

Yama: Hello, Yumi. How was school today?

Yumi: Fine.

Yama: I understand your Archery Club will participating in a Kyudo Competition next week.

Yumi: Yes. It will be the first time our club will be in the competition in ten years.

Yama: And I trust that you will do us all proud.

Yumi: Yes, Grandfather.

Yama: Other than archery and your studies, have also been keeping up with your other training.

Yumi: Yes, Grandfather.

Yama: Good. I will evaluate your progress after dinner tonight. You are dismissed until then.

Yumi: Yes, Grandfather.

*I made my way back to my room & changed out of my uniform. I was now wearing an indigo dress over a pearl blue long-sleeved blouse with indigo straps on the wrists, a dark magenta ribbon on my collar, a dark indigo belt, grey tube socks, & black strapped Mary-Janes (look up "Yumi - Casual Clothes" by "SwanGirl24" on "DeviantArt"). I then got started on my homework. After I finished, I went out for a walk in the garden (look up "Japanese Garden Outside of Japan" by "4umyipix" on "DeviantArt"). I went towards a giant cherry tree (look up "Cherry Blossom" by "iSohei" on "DeviantArt"), which had been in this garden since the Edo Period. One of our legends say that it's the source of our family's magic. This tree was also my Mom's favorite place when she was growing up. I began to walk around the base of the tree. But when I got back to the front of the tree, I found something very odd. A black standing mirror with a gold frame (look up "Queen Nehelenia and her mirror" by "MutoSizuka" on "DeviantArt")*

Yumi: Huh? What's this doing here?

*Suddenly, I heard a voice*

?:*off-screen* Ahh . . . Dearly beloved. Nobelist and loveliest of evil blooms.

*I looked around*

Yumi: Who's there!?

?:*off-screen* Your beauty shines above all others. *I looked back at the mirror* Magic Mirror on the wall . . . Who's the fairest one of all? If true might thou wouldst require, through a darkened mirror see. To grant thy heart's deepest desire. *just then, a hand appeared in the mirror* Take my hand and come with me. *as if in a trance, I placed my hand on the mirror's surface & it went through. I took the hand* Dancing flames to scorch the future. Frozen ice to entomb the past. Choking vines to seize the azure sky. Do not fear the coming darkness. Reveal to me your true power *suddenly, the hand pulled me into the mirror & into darkness* For me. For them. For you. For all of us, time now runs short. Do not let go of my hand. No matter what may come.

*As I was pulled deeper into the darkness, a vision appeared before my eyes. A coffin inside a glass carriage being pulled by two black horses to a pair of iron gates. Behind the gates, was a castle. In the sky above the castle, was a full moon. Then I passed out*
