Lizzie knew Hope better than she knew anyone, except maybe her twin, but she didn't know how to fix this or fix herself. Hope's humanity was off.

The consequences were far reaching in her life. She was dead. Josie was gone. And so was her dad. That had been the final nail in the coffin.

The phone call from MG revealed that he had finally passed.

Lizzie didn't cry. She had given all the tears she could have for her dad before she left. She had failed in getting him justice because to do that, she had to hurt a person she loved.

Or at least, hurt a person that she cared for more than she cared for her dad.

A surprising revelation. She loved Hope Mikaelson, likely really loved her. Of course it came out at the worst moment. And it didn't amount to anything.

She failed at bringing back Hope from her emotionless bliss. Not that she could blame her for going down that path.

A part of her wanted to do the same. She had already started down a darker path when she helped Hope kill every last vampire at the carnival.

They were killing people, but was that true justification? It felt right, except what if not all of them were willing participants and didn't deserve to die? It was a moral dilemma.

However, Lizzie also had to confront the fact that she had fun. It was exciting to be the one in control. The thrill of being the one doing the hurting rather than being hurt was a twist she didn't expect.

It made her wonder if those that said siphoners were inherently dangerous because they were creatures against nature were right.

There definitely seemed to be a trend of instability when it came to their existences.

Josie and her were lucky growing up that they never ran into those fanatic witches that only cared about correcting nature, but eventually luck runs out.

Staring down at the bodies of the witches made her feel tired. She had killed every last one of them because they were going to kill her.

It was easy but it wasn't easy to hurt Aurora. The very reason she was in this situation. She had betrayed Hope to save her life. So, she was forced to leave even though everything in her wanted to stay.

Aurora had run off to god knows where. Most likely plotting her next attack on Hope. All because she couldn't kill a person that she saw herself in.

She had looked those vampires and witches in the eyes and ripped the life from their eyes, but she drew the line at a nine hundred plus vampire.

Someone who had truly lived. For so long as well.

It was probably hypocritical but Aurora was her mirror. A potential future. Not that it really mattered in the end, since she gave up her revenge after the carnival.

She wished things would return to what they were before, but it was too late for that, which meant that the only chance she had was to repair what she had left.

The only way to do that was to save Hope. But how was that possible? She sighed, looking through the belongings of the witches. They tried to kill her. So, she called first dibs.

How do you get someone's humanity back on? An emotional trigger maybe. Killing Lizzie hadn't done anything, but that wasn't really surprising, since killing someone she loved got Hope into this mess to begin with.

That wasn't enough of a shock to Hope's system.

What else was there? The only thing Hope cared about other than her family that was here, was the family that wasn't.

Lizzie paused as her hand landed on a book. She grabbed it and turned it over in her hands. It looked like a tiny grimoire.

Well, it looked like this coven wasn't a very creative one, if this was all the spells they had. She opened it, freezing on the first page.

She was wrong. The reason they didn't have a lot of spells was because they didn't need them. This single spell was enough for a legacy that would last centuries.

They had cracked time travel. Holy shit. And if this entry was correct, it had just happened. Then, the words she thought earlier came to mind.

'The family that wasn't…' existed somewhere. Hope's mom, Hope's dad, her uncle. They all existed in the past.

Except reading the entry told her enough - to change the past was to destroy the future. Destroy time itself. It was too dangerous.

But there was a reason Lizzie was known as the more cunning twin, she always knew how to find loopholes.

And a single loophole could change the game.

She stared at the pages. She couldn't change the past, but what if she brought the past to the future…at the exact moment those people would cease to exist.

It was a risk but it could work.

But she couldn't save everyone. She likely could only go to one time period. Any more than that could destroy the world.

So, there was a choice to make. Save Hope's dad and uncle or save her mom. It wasn't her place to make this decision, but she was the only one that could do it.

There were also other risks to consider. Hayley Marshall had died surrounded by a bunch of people, but Klaus Mikaelson and Elijah Mikaelson were alone.

Less witnesses, but there was also the hollow to consider. If she saved them, she would put them all at risk by bringing it to the future.

Especially since Hope was now at her most powerful. If it took control of her, it would all be over. So, unless she could kill it before it could even do anything, trying to get Hope's mom would be the better option.

Unless there was a way to kill it.

It was an extremely powerful being. It wasn't possible to kill it without killing the person carrying it, but it also wasn't possible to contain it. There was no trap strong enough in the world that could.

Then, she realized. No prison in this world could hold it, but what about one that wasn't in this realm of existence.

A prison world could hold the hollow. It was like a lightbulb had gone off. If she could move the hollow into a new person. Then, trap them in the prison world fast enough, it wouldn't be a problem.

With the plan in mind, Lizzie stood up. In order to do this, she would have to return to Mystic Falls.

It always came back to Mystic Falls, didn't it?

Lizzie had cloaked herself the moment she arrived back in town. Mostly because she didn't want to risk running into anyone. But also because she had sensed that Hope was back as well.

A potential problem, but only if she knew she was there.

Lizzie had considered her options. She needed a prison world, but the only one left in existence held Rafael and his family.

So, that wasn't an option. Creating a new one was her best bet. Although, despite how much bad luck she'd been having, she noticed that there was going to be an eclipse tomorrow.

Perfect for creating a prison world. As well as a full moon for the time travel spell. It meant today would be for gathering supplies.

She knew the spell for creating the prison like she knew the back of her hand. It only took two times of doing it, three if you count the time when she was four. She also still had a vial of Bennett blood that could be found hidden in the freezer at the school.

Once she gathered the pieces for the prison world. She had to locate a victim. She also found she hated using the word victim. It made her feel like a monster.

However, she was planning to sacrifice them to the hollow, so it wasn't necessarily wrong to call her that, but if it brought back Hope, she'd kill a thousand innocents.

It was wrong, she knew, but she didn't care.

Then, she had to gather the supplies for the time travel spell. Thankfully, she remembered to gather double the amount, so she would be able to return.

Once she finished with the preparation of those two spells, she moved onto the final one. She would be removing the hollow the same way she removed it the last time from Hope. The same spell as she used on Josie with the black magic.

By the time the next day came she was prepared. It would have to all be done fast. She had prepared everything for the siphoning spell and time traveling spell.

The land she was on was a mess from all the different ritual prep, but it was a necessary mess.

The plan was a go. The eclipse had already happened, so she had the prison world and ascendant ready for use.

Now, she made sure everything was prepared for the moment she returned. Her eyes flickered over to the man that sat as still as a statue.

She pushed down any guilt that wanted to make its way to the surface as she took in his blank stare. The compulsion would keep him there until she was back.

The only comfort she had was that he was leaving nobody behind. That was the most important factor in who she chose. At least, to her.

Lizzie let out a breath, putting the ascendant to the side. Then, made her way to the salt spiral. On her back was a backpack full of the return items. As well as some stuff she would need once she arrived.

She knelt. The words she began to chant made the air change around her. Her hands moved as she spoke. Putting the ingredients in their proper places.

On a single piece of paper was the exact time and date she wanted to go to. She put it in the bowl. She could feel the magic surrounding her.

It vibrated through her as she spoke the last words of the spell. The paper in the bowl caught fire. And Lizzie was forced to close her eyes as she felt herself lift as wind that wasn't wind hit her.

Then, she hit the ground. Lizzie blinked, looking around her. She was in the same exact place, except it looked like before she added all the ritual stuff.

She didn't have time to check if she did the spell right. So, instead, she quickly set up everything she needed, so that she could do the spell again when she returned.

Once it was all in place, she pulled out a map and the extra vial of Hope's blood that she still had from her heist of the freezer. Not that she knew it was Hope's at that time.

Pouring it on the map, she began the locator spell. Focusing her thoughts on finding Hope's dad.

"Ahsorum, dolusantum, infidictus." By the time she finished saying the spell, the blood had moved to land over Mystic Falls square.

"Found you…" she whispered.

Then, she stood up, taking off in that direction. She had to move fast before she was too late. As she reached the square, she saw two figures facing each other. Shit, was her first thought. Don't let her be too late.

"Wait!" she shouted. Both froze and looked over.

Lizzie ran over with vampire speed. "Don't do it."

"Who are you?"

Confusion was written all over the two brothers' faces.

"Klaus Mikaelson?" Lizzie asked the blonde man. He nodded, hesitantly. "Elijah Mikaelson?" When the man in the suit nodded, she let out the breath she didn't even know she was holding.

"Tell us who you are," the man, Elijah Mikaelson, ordered.

"My name is Lizzie Saltzman." Their eyes widened. "I think you know my mom."

"That's impossible. Lizzie Saltzman is 13 years old right now and certainly not a vampire," Klaus growled. Then, Lizzie found herself slammed against a building with a hand around her throat. "So, who are you really?"

Lizzie glared and her hand shot to his wrist, siphoning brutally. He went down, crashing to his knees as veins formed. She lightened it slightly as she used her magic to prevent Elijah from intervening.

"I'm not lying. And I'm not a vampire. I'm a heretic." She released him and moved away. Taking her magic off of Elijah as she waited for their next reaction.

"Only a gemini can be a siphoner," was the first words that Klaus said.

"I know. The only other gemini outside of my sister and I are Valarie Tulle and Kai Parker. I'm neither."

"You could be lying. Why should we believe you?" Elijah asked.

Lizzie pulled out a photo from her pocket and held it out. Klaus slowly took it and when he looked down, he froze.

"Hope…"

Elijah was instantly beside him, looking down at the photo of Hope and the twins that they had taken the day Hope turned.

"How?" Klaus said, looking up. "Why?"

"In my time, both of you are dead. You died here and now," Lizzie said, but neither looked surprised. "I'm here because Hope needs you."

"What?" Elijah said, baffled.

"Because of circumstances I'm not explaining right now, Hope was forced to activate her vampire side and become a full tribrid," Lizzie didn't give them the chance to speak. "She had to kill the man she loved, which made her turn her humanity off. I want to bring you to the future to help her."

Klaus looked stricken with grief at her words, while Elijah looked sad, but contemplative. He gave her a considering look

"Why do that? Why must we come to the future?" Elijah asked.

Lizzie sighed. "If you don't, we all die."

They stared at her in disbelief, so of course, she explained. "The time spell does not allow for time to actually change and to do so would destroy everything."

"So, why would you risk that, sweetheart?" Klaus asked.

"Because I found a loophole," Lizzie said, shrugging.

Klaus raised an eyebrow in question.

"To save you both from dying would change the timeline, that is the issue, but I considered that the possibility of removing you two from from the timeline at the time you died would prevent time from changing. You're leaving, just not permanently, since you'd return in the future. And everyone would still believe you had died. If this works, that means you two never actually died in my time as well."

"Clever," Klaus said, a thoughtful look on his face.

"Niklaus is correct. That is a cunning plan, but there is one flaw, the hollow," Elijah said with a pointed look.

Lizzie smirked. "Yeah, no, I've already thought of that. The moment we reach my time, I'll take the hollow out of you, put it in a rando, then trap them in a prison world, where it will never be an issue again."

Elijah raised an eyebrow at her plan, while Klaus just stared at her with an unreadable look on his face.

"Prison world?" Elijah prompted.

"It's too confusing to explain right now, but all you need to know is that it will hold her," Lizzie said, feeling pleased with herself. Her eyes flickered to Klaus, who was still looking at her with that look. "What?"

He smiled, slightly. "Nothing, it's just, you are most certainly your mother's daughter."

Lizzie blinked. "Oh…well, I don't if you mean that as a compliment, but I'm taking it as one."

"I think I'm going to like you, love," Klaus said with a laugh.

"Most people do," Lizzie said. Then, paused. "Well, eventually. Sometimes. It depends."

Ignoring their looks, she motioned for them to follow. "Let's get this show on the road before I accidentally kill us all."

"Lead the way, Ms. Saltzman," Elijah said, nodding.

Lizzie took off and once she reached the ritual area, she looked back to see if they were there. Of course, they were.

"Alright, in order for you to come with me, you have to be holding onto me, I can handle the rest," Lizzie explained. Once she got there affirmative, she knelt in the salt spiral.

They came on either side of her, placing their hands on her shoulders. And so she repeated the steps as they happened before. The spell was easier this time.

The words were more familiar. She chanted, carefully. Putting the new piece of paper in the bowl. The spell surrounded them.

And then the paper caught fire and the magical wind hit them as they lifted. She could feel them tightened their grips to make sure they didn't get separated from her.

Then, they landed.

Immediately, she caught sight of the compelled guy and pushed herself to her feet.

"It worked," she turned to them. "We have to do this fast, got it?"

She didn't wait for an answer as she handed Klaus the potion to drink. Once he did, she walked into the other circle, making sure she had the ascendant in her hand.

"Once it's out, put the guy in the circle. It's the same as when my younger self and sister did it."

She began the spell.

"Magia tollox de terras."

Over and over she spoke those words. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Klaus' eyes glow an eerie blue and he was lifted in the air.

The hollow flowed from him to the middle of the air in the circle. Elijah was watching the proceedings carefully. He seemed uncertain, but hopeful.

Once it was all out, Klaus dropped to the ground. Then, Elijah was moving as he forced the man into the circle.

Lizzie didn't blink as she directed the magic towards the man.

"Solvo."

The magic flooded into the man. The second it was all in, his eyes turned blue and Lizzie knew that she had to be fast.

She pulled out the ascendant and pointed it towards him.

"Sanguinem filio, sanguinem effurgarex perpetuum. Sanguinem filio, sanguinem effurgarex perpetuum. Phasmatos filio, Phasmatos effurgarex perpetuum."

It was a long spell and she knew she was pushing the bounds of magic as she forced it to go faster.

A bright light flashed, blinding her, but she pushed onwards. Then, the wind went silent and the man was no longer there. She stood there, breathing heavily.

"Did it work?" Elijah asked, looking from her to his brother.

"Yeah," Lizzie breathed. "It worked."

She turned to them. "The hollow's gone."

Klaus was staring at her. "You are a very powerful witch, aren't you?"

"Yeah, I am," Lizzie said, simply.

"Then, it is good you're on our side," Elijah mused.

Lizzie shook her head, to their confusion. "I'm not on your side, I'm on Hope's."

"Then, we're glad she has you," Elijah countered.

Lizzie nodded, tiredly.

"Now, how about we have a much needed family reunion?" Klaus said, clapping his hands.

"Sounds good." And with that, Lizzie led the way to the school.

She waved a hand to open the door, motioning for them to stay further back. As she made her way to the main area of the school, she found that she could hear the voices of others.

One rang far more clearly than the others. Hope. Lizzie entered. Hope and the rest of the super squad turned to face her.

"Am I interrupting something?" She asked, innocently.

"Lizzie," Hope growled out, just like Klaus did earlier.

Lizzie laughed. "I gotta say Hope, you are a lot more like your dad then I realized."

"What?" That caught Hope off guard, then she shook her head. "Why are you back?"

"It's a long story, but the short version is I took a trip and found some friends that I thought could help me with my 'you' problem," Lizzie said, shrugging.

Hope rolled her eyes. "What? Did you find some people that could appeal to my humanity? News flash, I don't have any but I'll humor you, is it my aunt? Or some other long lost family member of mine?" she asked, sarcastically.

"I don't know, why don't you ask them?" Lizzie motioned to the two that had just appeared in the room.

Hope froze. Her eyes flickered between the two. Then, to Lizzie and back.

"Lizzie, who are these guys?" MG asked, confused, but Lizzie didn't need to reply because Hope did it for her.

"Dad? Uncle 'Lijah?" The others in the room seemed to be hit with the gravity of the situation as they all froze.

"Hello, little wolf," Klaus said, softly.

Hope shook her head as her eyes watered. "No, no, it's not possible. You're dead. You're both dead," her voice cracked at the end.

"When you were seven, I watched you heal a butterfly with a broken wing. It was when I first saw you again after escaping my imprisonment," Klaus said, softly.

That was all Hope needed.

"Dad." Her voice cracked again and suddenly she was hugging him. Lizzie couldn't stop the smile from forming. It worked. She had done it.

She looked at Elijah, but he was already looking at her. He gave a single nod, which she instantly reciprocated.

She motioned for the others to follow her out of the room. Hope needed her time to reunite with her family and didn't need them hovering behind her, watching creepily.

MG stared at her, once they were far enough away. "What just happened?"

"Hope's humanities back," Lizzie said, smirking. "You're welcome."

She walked away. When she made it back to her room, she laid down. She was exhausted. She had done five major spells in a matter of a few hours.

And it was all worth it. For once, Lizzie healed instead of destroyed. It felt amazing to know that it was her that brought Hope back.

Not Josie. Not anyone else. Her.

Even if it wasn't directly, it was her actions, and that meant everything.

After an ungodly amount of time, her door suddenly opened and Lizzie barely had time to sit up before Hope was hugging her with all her strength.

And she meant that literally. She swore she felt her bones crack. When Hope pulled back, she saw her tear ridden face.

"Hey, Hope."

Hope stared at her in disbelief. "Hey, Hope? That's all you have to say."

"I don't know what else you want me to say," Lizzie said, uncertain.

"Lizzie, you literally time traveled and brought back my originally dead dad and uncle to the future to bring my humanity back on," Hope said, staring at her.

"Yeah, I know, I was there," Lizzie replied, rolling her eyes. "I don't know why you're mad."

"Mad? Lizzie, I'm not mad. I'm in disbelief. Awed. Shocked. You gave me back my dad and my uncle. Do you know what that means to me?" Hope said, grabbing her hand.

Lizzie shrugged. "A lot?" she suggested.

"Yeah. A lot. You gave me my family back. You gave me 'me' back," Hope said. "And that means everything. But why'd you do it? It was so dangerous. You could have died."

"I know, but what else did you expect me to do? I promised you once that we were in this till the bitter end and I wasn't ready for the bitter end to come so early, so I took a risk," Lizzie said, slowly. "Besides, it's not like I was just putting my life in danger, I was putting the entire world's too."

"Lizzie, that was even more reason not to do it," Hope said, squeezing her hand.

Lizzie blinked. "Oh. Well, I just saw it as 'if I'm going down, I'm bringing you all with me', and by 'you all', I mean everyone in existence."

Hope laughed. "You are something else." Then, the smile faded. "I'm sorry."

"What?"

"I killed you. I killed your dad. Everything I did was unforgivable, so I understand if you hate me and never want to see me again and-"

"Hope, shut up."

Hope went silent, confused.

"Never want to see you again? Are you serious? What about 'I love you' do you not understand? What about me literally time traveling and doing a bunch of dangerous shit just to save you, do you not understand? I forgive you. I was always going to forgive you because it's you." Lizzie stared at the other girl in disbelief.

"Oh." Hope said - there was something new in her expression that Lizzie had never seen before. "Oh."

Lizzie's brow furrowed. "What is all this 'oh' shit about?"

Hope looked up. Their eyes met and Hope seemed to be searching for something that Lizzie didn't understand. She barely had time to react before Hope grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her.

As in her lips on hers. Lizzie felt a heat go through her body, making her feel warm as their mouths moved together.

When Hope pulled back, Lizzie stared at her.

"Oh."

Hope burst out laughing.
