Rei arrived quickly and noted his motorcycle was at least parked outside. She slowly made her way inside and up to his floor, she felt a bit of hesitation as she stood outside his apartment door. Shifting nervously she knocked, once and then again, a small part of her told her to just leave the food and go back to the van. Rei found herself rooted to the spot, waiting to see if he would answer. It took a moment but eventually he did, Kazutora seemed surprised to see her. "Hey, I brought food." She said holding up the bag with a little smile on her face as she shook it a little bit. Meanwhile Kazutora just seemed confused. "You brought me food? Why?" He allowed her to step past him and into the apartment, she set the food down on the table. "Well…I was worried about you. I haven't heard from you most of today." She mumbled, feeling a bit embarrassed that he appeared totally fine and she'd been so worried for nothing. She didn't even look at him as she pulled out the food and set it on the table. "Oh I also took notes for you from class." She said, grabbing the notes she'd transferred down for him and also setting them on the table. When she finally did turn to look at him he appeared entirely bewildered by her actions. "Everything ok Tora?" She asked with a curious tilt of her head and to her surprise he moved to hug her tightly, after the surprise wore off she moved her arms to wrap around him. Gently moving one of her hands up and down on his back. They stood there like that for a while, Rei wasn't in any hurry to move away. She didn't know exactly what had happened, but if he needed this she was more than willing to give him as much time as he needed. "You never answered my question." She spoke softly, not trying to break the moment they were having. She knew Kazutora wasn't used to being taken care of, being worried about. "Yeah, yeah everythings fine." He reassured her, but still the grasp he had on her didn't wane at all. So she continued to stand there just letting him get whatever it was that he needed from this. "You know if everything ever wasn't fine you could tell me, right?" If he needed someone she was more than willing to be that someone, for all the times he'd come and whisked her off when she needed it this was the least she could do for him. She didn't know if he would take her help though, especially if the issue had to do with Toman or whatever this new gang he was in was. "I know." He squeezed her once before letting her go, he had a smile plastered on his face but his eyes looked glassy like he was on the verge of tears.

Rei decided to not push it any further than she had already, moving to sit on the edge of his bed and grabbing her portion of the food she'd brought. He moved to sit next to her, grabbing his own food and they began eating in relative silence. Rei took the opportunity to lean her shoulder into his own, allowing the littlest bit of physical contact between them. She didn't know what was going on with him, and she didn't need to know. All she needed to know was that she wanted to help Kazutora, and she was going to try and do that however she could. She'd known from the moment she'd let him back into her life that she'd do whatever needed to be done in order to keep him there.

Once they'd finished their food Rei went to take a shower, pausing before she actually entered the bathroom. "Uh, you think I can borrow a shirt again? I don't really feel like running back out to the van, but I also don't wanna put my uniform back on either." She said, pulling at the fabric of her skirt for emphasis, Kazutora raised an eyebrow at her but moved to his closet to grab a shirt for her. Throwing it at her she smiled giving him a quick thanks before making her way into the bathroom to shower.

Kazutora was curious as to what exactly was going on with Rei. Had him being gone for a day really bothered her that much? It felt…nice that she had been worried about him, to the point that she had come by. The fact that she had done that made him feel guilty, as he'd been on patrol for Valhalla today, which was why he'd missed school. It wasn't often that he had to do patrols but as the 3rd captain of the group it was a responsibility he sometimes had to take. Kazutora knew if she found out, or rather when she found out, he was a member of another gang she'd be worried. Possibly even angry at him. Considering all that had happened before, he had a goal that needed to be completed. He had to kill Mikey, there was just no other option, no other route he could possibly take. Kazutora knew it would hurt her, he'd go back to jail again probably for longer than the six years he had already served. He could also die, the possibility that Mikey could beat him was ever present. 'Wonder if she'd wait for me…wonder if she would mourn for me.' he thought to himself, she'd chastised him for his reckless and impulsive decisions before. He could picture her in either scenario yelling at him over it. But could it really be considered reckless and impulsive if he'd been planning it for years? He could only hope that she would be there for him, no matter the outcome, the last thing he wanted was to lose her. 'I don't want her to abandon me…to think I'm a lost cause.' The mere thought of her abandoning him sent a sharp twist through his chest, she and Baji were the only people he had. 'People betray other people all the time.' He mused. Even if it meant betraying those who meant the most to him he would achieve his end goal. All Kazutora could do was enjoy this time while it lasted, soak up every second he had with both Rei and Baji. Burn it into his memory, into the very fiber of his being, so he could never forget these times. Just in case they shouldn't last.

Rei made her way out of the shower, thankful for Kazutoras long t-shirt she pulled on her underwear but left off the bra as it was uncomfortable. The silver haired woman folded her clothes into a neat pile and carried them out of the bathroom with her. Kazutoras gaze met hers when she exited the bathroom, he felt his face get warm and he looked away from her. "You seriously gonna get all embarrassed cuz I'm wearing a shirt and panties? You're so adorable Tora." Rei said with a little smile as she set her clothes down on the coffee table, the bra sat on top of the pile did not escape his notice which made his face feel even warmer. "You are far too comfortable being practically naked around me." He said with a sigh, putting his head in his hands to hopefully avoid her realizing how flustered he was. "Well I mean…you know all my super deep, dark, emotional shit that no one else does. You seeing me in your shirt and my underwear is nothing compared to that. I mean if it makes you uncomfortable I can definitely go down to the van and get my clothes." She offered and she swore she had never seen this man move so quickly to stop her before in her life. "No, no it's fine it's just…" he trailed off, there was no nice friendly way to say that when she sat here like that it drove him crazy. He so badly wanted to see what she looked like under the very few clothes she was wearing. Rei had always been beautiful, but she'd filled out a lot over the years he'd been gone and he wanted to memorize every little curve she had. He shook his head like an etch-a-sketch to erase the mental image he had conjured of her in his mind. Rei sensing his distress, though not really understanding it, decided to breeze past the topic entirely. "So I was thinking, if you aren't too busy obviously, maybe I could spend the weekend here?" Rei knew he was likely to say yes, but asking made her nervous nonetheless. Kazutora was stunned into silence for a moment, she'd denied staying here so many times that he'd asked and now she was offering to spend an entire weekend? It seemed a bit too good to be true. "Yeah that's fine but…why?" His mistrust getting the better of him in the moment, she had to want something from him or something. He couldn't imagine her just offering otherwise. "Uh-well I mean…I don't know, I just thought it would be nice to spend the weekend not in my van. Figured I could spend it with you." Her face burned, she felt like such an idiot, of course he'd be curious as to why. She couldn't just outright admit she wanted to spend time with him because she was worried about what he might have been doing. Worried that he'd get himself into trouble. She had the vain hope that if she was around Kazutora would be less likely to do something dumb. "Yeah that's fine, but you gotta wear more clothes." He teased her and she sighed falling back into his bed with a light thump. "Fine, I can do that." He almost wished he hadn't said anything, it wasn't as though he didn't want to see her in a moderate state of undress. He just didn't need that temptation staring him in the face all weekend. He was nothing if not impulsive, having her close by all weekend was already temptation enough.

The pair eventually settled in together, Rei having decided to show him the joys of Vine, which was rather amusing. But the better part for Kazutora was hearing her peals of laughter when she found something funny. So there they sat in his bed laughing and talking, Rei realized she'd probably never been this comfortable in someone else's bed before. 'Fuck I'm falling for him again aren't I?' she'd laid snuggled against him so she could easily show him videos as she scrolled through them. It was funny, they used to do this when they were kids but it had changed a lot since then. There had never been any real interest involved back then. Sure she'd had a crush on him but being close was just the childish comfort of having someone close. It had taken Rei a few years after that to realize that neither she nor Kazutora had wanted to be alone during those times, neither of them really cared for their home lives. So in one way or another they found home in each other's company.

Rei found herself quietly thanking Baji who had been the only reason she'd even met Kazutora, both of them being introverted types with Baji being the more extroverted. It was funny that he'd befriended both of them, Rei wondered if somehow he just inherently knew they were both lonely. In truth she owed a lot to Baji, he'd not only introduced her to Kazutora, but he'd been there for both of them at some of the worst times of their lives. But he'd never wavered, was always just there with his cheesy fang toothed smile. Rei realized she couldn't possibly picture her life if she had never met Keisuke Baji. Sure they had done a lot of reckless things together, things Rei would have never even dreamed of doing otherwise, but it had been a fun childhood. She'd have to find a way to thank him for that later. For now she merely enjoyed the comfort she had, eventually putting her phone down. Realizing that it had gotten late, almost one in the morning now.

"We should probably try and get some sleep." She said with a small yawn which she tried to cover with a hand. "Yeah probably." Kazutora had been enjoying the time with her, he really didn't want to sleep when he could continue to talk to her and hear her laugh. But he reminded himself they had the whole weekend together. He went to pull her closer to him but she stopped him. Instead squiggling herself up a bit more onto the pillows and pulling him into her, her legs intertwining with his own, and his head being placed on her chest. Her cheek rested against the top of his head, he wondered for a moment if she could feel how fast his heart was going. Normally he pulled her into him, not the other way around, this was…comfortable but also made his heart race. "G'Night Tora." She mumbled, her eyes were heavy and she was already feeling surprisingly sleepy. "Night." He mumbled into her chest, he got the feeling he wasn't going to be falling asleep just yet.

He eventually heard her heartbeat slow down, and she snored just the littlest bit. He allowed himself to relax into the embrace, his arms wrapped around her waist with the one she laid on quickly going numb but he didn't dare move. It felt nice to have her this close, although one of his hands gently traced the curve of her back and sides. As far as he could possibly extend his reach, not even quite realizing what he was doing until he reached the bare skin of her hip where his shirt had rode up. He froze entirely for a moment, feeling the warmth she radiated unfettered by the shirt between them. Before cautiously moving his hand back up her side, she breathed the lightest of sighs in her sleep and he felt his face get warm. Kazutora couldn't help but to wonder if she had been awake would she have allowed for his roaming hands? He didn't know. While she was never shy when it came to acts of a physical nature, he certainly was. Only when it came to her though, sure he'd been with women before. But somehow it was different, he didn't entirely understand why. Maybe because he'd known her since they were kids. Rei let out a small murmur in her sleep and nuzzled into him a little bit more, deciding if he remained awake the desire to run his hands across her would only grow stronger he finally allowed himself to close his eyes. The feeling of her warmth pressed against him, and the sounds of her soft breathing quickly lulling him into sleep.

Rei woke up a bit disoriented the next morning, she blinked away her blurry vision. Taking a quick assessment of her surroundings she noticed three things, one she was really warm, two she was now rolled over with her back to Kazutora, and three while he was certainly still asleep one of his hands was under her shirt holding onto her breast ever so slightly. She felt her face get a bit warm but made the decision to let it ride, instead choosing to focus on the fact that he was essentially entirely curled around her. It was actually really cute that even in sleep he wanted to be close to her. The hand on her boob squeezed slightly making her chest tighten a bit, she realized he was waking up and made the choice to pretend to be asleep. Another soft squeeze, this one more testing and she resisted the strangled noise that died to escape her throat. It took a moment for him to rouse into full consciousness. When he did he seemed to realize his hands position and slowly released it, clearly being careful to not wake her. Not realizing she was very awake and aware of what had happened. The motion of his hand slipping down her stomach to be pulled out of her shirt made her core feel tight. But eventually he'd removed himself from under her shirt, shifting slightly, clearly trying to get away from her while not waking her. Eventually he pulled himself out of bed and she heard him stand and move towards the bathroom, not long after she heard the shower start and Rei breathed a sigh of relief.

She gave it a few minutes before she allowed herself to move and sit up, stretching slightly as she did. Deciding she had no desire to try and use the shared kitchen, Rei pulled out her phone to order breakfast, settling on pancakes for the both of them. Letting out a small sigh she fell back into his bed, she still almost couldn't believe she'd woken up with him holding her boob. No doubt he was probably in the shower absolutely freaking out about it right now, oh how much worse it would have been if he realized she was awake. Rei almost wanted to laugh, it was cute how physically reserved he was with her. Yet clearly so desperate to be touched in some manner or regard. She understood this, to a point, came from trauma.

She knew a bit about his family, knew that both his mother and father had failed him as parents. Rei was lucky to have at least had her mother, granted her mother struggled with depression so bad there would be times she couldn't get out of bed for weeks. But it had only made Rei more independent, more of a caretaker type of person. She never minded it, actually quite to the opposite she enjoyed being able to be of use.

Deciding to be useful in the current moment she stood up and began making the bed she'd been laying in. She wondered if he'd ever even made his bed before, every time she came by it was unmade. Though the apartment was generally clean otherwise, something about her coming by almost every day had apparently made him be a bit more organized. There was a knock at the door, and presuming it was the food Rei moved to answer it. She was surprised to see it was not in fact the food but rather some guy she'd never seen before. He had brown hair with a little patch of blonde in the front but what struck her most was the hand on the doorframe having a large tattoo on the back of it. 'Sin.' for some reason it sent a shiver down her spine. "Uh Hi, are you looking for Kazutora?" She inquired as his golden gaze stared down on her, she felt almost a bit intimidated as a smile cracked across his face. "I am in fact, is he here?" Rei nodded and allowed him to step into the small apartment. "Y-yeah he's just in the shower right now, but I'm sure he'll be out in a minute." She said trying to keep her demeanor casual and friendly even though this guy was setting off every single alarm bell she had. Noting his other hand also had a tattoo 'Punishment' this had to be a guy from the gang Kazutora was in. There was no way in hell he was just some random guy, she now understood what Baji meant when he said Kazutora was mixed up with some bad people. "So who exactly are you to Kazutora? Girlfriend or something?" He asked and Rei felt her face get hot, she didn't even know this guy's name and he was asking these kinds of questions? "Uh, childhood friends would probably be the most accurate description of our relationship." She said and he nodded, she felt so uncomfortable with him watching her the way he was, Kazutora couldn't get out of the shower fast enough. "So what about you?" She asked and the man let out a small hmm of question. "What are you to Kazutora?" She asked and he smiled, once again giving her the shivers. This dude's aura was menacing. "I guess you could call me his boss, Shuji Hanma." He said, extending a hand which she took immediately, trying not to show any level of hesitation towards him. "Ah ok, it's nice to meet you. I'm Hasegawa Rei." She said, forcing a smile over her lips, in spite of the fact that her stomach was curling at the direct contact with this man. Thankfully it was at that moment Kazutora exited the bathroom, towel draped over his head. He looked between Hanma and Rei confused for a moment. "Ah Kazutora, your little friend here let me in. Just had a few things I wanted to discuss with you, if you wouldn't mind?" Hanma asked, though the way he said it told Rei it wasn't an optional thing he merely said the words for politeness sake. She decided the best thing she could do would be to excuse herself for the moment, she had no desire to be anywhere near this. "Uh I'll be right back, Kazutora. I'm just gonna go grab some clothes from my van. It was nice to meet you Hanma." She said politely and the latter man smiled at her. "No need for such formality Rei Hasegawa, you can call me Shuji." She nodded but didn't respond, moving to grab her shoes and make her way out of the apartment. It didn't escape her notice that he had used her full name. 'Fuck this shit I'm out' rang out I'm her mind as she moved down the stairs.

Her stomach was absolutely rolling, she didn't know exactly who the hell this guy was but she didn't like him at all. Once she had made it outside she felt as though she could finally breathe properly, making her way to her van she realized she'd answered the door clad in just Kazutoras shirt and her panties. No wonder he'd thought she was his girlfriend, that was a reasonable assumption to make considering her position. Rei opened up her van, rifling through her backpack to grab some of her own clothes. She moved to sit in the van taking off her shoes and sliding on her sweatpants, then slipping the shoes back on her feet. The next thing on the agenda was a cigarette, while normally she would have merely cracked a window in Kazutoras apartment and just smoked out of it she was in no rush to go back up there. She slowly puffed on the menthol, Rei didn't know why this guy threw off such bad vibes but he did and she couldn't ignore it. 'Why the hell is Kazutora working with a guy like that?' she wondered quietly, the gang he and Baji had belonged to previously had all seemed like rather nice people. Granted she'd only ever met them very briefly a few times over the years, but none of them had ever given off the kind of energy this Hanma guy was. She noticed the delivery person with her food and moved to grab it from him, crushing out her cigarette, and grabbing her clothes, she made her way back up to Kazutoras apartment. Hanma was blessedly gone now and Kazutora sat on his bed, clearly having been waiting for her to return.

"Hey, I got food for us." Rei said with a smile, she didn't want to immediately jump into questioning him about Hanma and why he'd stopped by. This was supposed to have been a nice weekend for them to have together. Kazutora looked over at her with a smile, and she sat down next to him unwrapping the bounty of pancakes she'd ordered. "You left pretty quickly, everything ok?" Kazutora asked, completely bypassing her idea to just let the moment slide by for now. Rei paused the action of opening her box of pancakes for a moment before continuing. She thought about her words a bit before speaking. "I just hadn't been expecting that guy to stop by, kinda embarrassed I answered the door in just your shirt." She said, trying to keep her words lighthearted, this wasn't what they needed right now. Not first thing in the morning, of course the first night she spent here this would happen. "So why did he stop by? He said he was your boss, I figured it was probably important." She inquired, finally digging in to take a bite of her pancakes, watching as Kazutora came up with a response. "Yeah, he just wanted to go over a few things with me I guess. Dunno why he didn't just call." Rei nodded quietly, she didn't know if she entirely believed what he was saying but she accepted it. In no way was she going to try and push this issue instead she made the choice to voice her own personal feelings. "I don't like him…he seemed friendly enough and everything but his vibe was…off. Dunno, weird." She mumbled taking another bite, it was really all she could say. There was no way to politely tell him his gangster boss gave her the absolute willies. Kazutora seemed to take it in stride though. "Yeah he has that effect on people. Don't worry about it." He gave her a small smile before taking a bite of his own food, she was not in fact going to not worry about it. She was going to worry about it endlessly.

She leaned into him, giving both of them a little bit of physical contact while they ate their breakfast. Rei found herself wondering if he was involved in a gang again was he going to end up back in jail like before? The thought caused her chest to feel tight, she didn't know if she could handle losing Kazutora again. Not after all this work they'd had to do to mend their friendship. Especially not when she was beginning to let her old feelings for him come back to the surface. "You…you aren't going to go away again right?" The words left her mouth before she could stop them, they hung in the air for a moment. A part of her silently panicked, it wasn't something she had meant to say. Just a thought that crossed her mind and her lips almost simultaneously. Kazutoras silence was deafening to her, she cared not to speak the words again. Merely waited for his response. "I don't know." His voice was quiet, as if he hadn't wanted to answer her at all. It wasn't at all what she had wanted to hear, her heart thundered against her rib cage as if it were trying to escape. "I don't know what you're doing, and you don't have to tell me…but I don't want you to disappear again." She leaned her head against his shoulder, trying to absorb the information he'd just given her. Was it even worth doing all of this, getting close to him again, if he was potentially going to disappear from her life again? If he did go away what would she even do? "If I do…are you going to abandon me?" Kazutora asked, she could feel his gaze on her despite not looking at him. It took her a moment to think of an answer as she herself didn't know. She took a breath and looked up at him. He looked scared, clearly he wanted to know but also didn't want to hear the answer. "No, you're too important to me, always have been." It was true, she couldn't imagine a world where he wasn't in some way a part of her life. "If it does ever happen I'll be here. Be waiting to kick your ass too for whatever dumbass thing you did to land yourself in jail. Don't worry though I'll patch you up when I'm done." She said, trying to lighten the conversation at least somewhat. The little smile that twitched at the corners of his lips told her that she'd done good. While the worry still nagged at her mind that Kazutora thought he may end up back in jail she stuffed it down, it was something to deal with if and when it ever happened.
