Hey everyone! What's up!?
So less than a month til Sonic Frontiers comes out, anyone else excited for it!?
Now we all know that Sonic and Amy are going to be in the game, as well as Tails, but we have yet to really know the yellow fox's part in the game. I have seen a leaked cutscene where Tails is flying the Tornado with Sonic and Amy and the three are sucked into a portal, but that's it… Or from what I have seen so far.
And if you haven't known yet, Sonic and Tails have to be along my most favorite friendships from anywhere, so I thought… How can Tails be part of Sonic Frontiers?
Well, here's how I imagine a scene would play out in the game!
Sonic took a heavy breather as he came back down to the ground, releasing the chaos emeralds and turning off his super form after defeating a giant leviathan that was under the control of Sage, the mysterious girl who has been chasing Sonic since he arrived at Starfall Islands. As Sonic took a knee, getting his breath back, a pink female hedgehog came forth, having watched the battle from a distance.
"That was amazing Sonic!" The female hedgehog smiled as Sonic began to stand back up.
"Yeah Amy, it was rough, but hopefully Sage doesn't have anything bigger." Sonic replied. "Alright Sage, what are you going to throw at me next?" Sonic asked to no one in particular as a shadow cast over Sonic and Amy, making the two hedgehogs turn around to see Sage, clearly upset as she was losing her patience.
"You have been here long enough hedgehog…" Sage spoke in a threatening tone. "However your power in your super form and your ability to control the chaos emeralds could prove useful to me…"
"Forget it Sage, I will never join you…" Sonic defiantly told his enemy as instead of striking Sonic and Amy, she smiled.
"I had a feeling you would say that, so I'm going to give you a choice…" Sage summoning up something, a bright light appearing as Sonic and Amy had to cover their eyes for a couple of seconds and when they were able to reopen them…
"Tails!" Both Sonic and Amy shouted at the same time.
"Sonic, Amy, I'm so glad you two are okay." The yellow fox almost shedding a tear. "Whatever she wants, don't do it!" Tails urging his friends to not give up as Sage quickly shut Tails for a minute so she can speak.
"What have you done to my friend!?" Sonic demanded as he clenched his fists.
"Nothing… Yet…" Sage answered. "It depends on you, come with me and I will release your friend, if not… Better say your goodbyes." Sage releasing Tails' mouth so he could speak again.
"Sonic, whatever you do, don't do it, I'm not worth it, save Amy and yourself!" Tails told his blue hedgehog friend as Sonic wrestled with what to do…
"Make your choice, I no longer have the patience." Sage still holding onto Tails.
Sonic couldn't let his best friend, the one who always was at his side no matter what, who always had his back, get hurt anymore than Sage. Tails has always followed Sonic without question, even if it was the most risky dangers possible, and their friendship and teamwork made them unstoppable. However now Tails would have every right to question Sonic's decision as Sonic, feeling defeated and with no other options, gave his answer to Sage…
"I will go with you, just don't hurt Tails…" Sonic saying with no hesitation. "Just give me a minute with him."
"Wise choice." Sage smiled as true to her word, she let Tails go, the two friends meeting each other in a hug.
"Sonic, why?" Tails asked his friend, tears now falling as the young fox didn't want to let go of his friend.
"I can't let you get hurt anymore Tails." Sonic told his friend, trying his hardest to keep his emotions in check. "Don't worry about me, I can handle myself, everything will be alright."
"But Sonic…" Tails began, but stopped as Sonic looked his friend in the eyes.
"Listen Tails, no one has stood besides me longer than you, you always have my back even in the toughest of times." Sonic praised his friend. "But now I need you to really listen to me, you have to go with Amy and you two have to get back home."
"Sonic…" Tails couldn't really say much as he felt like he was going to lose his friend forever.
"I'll be okay Tails, it's only goodbye for now…" Sonic assured his friend as Sage spoke up.
"Time's up, lets go hedgehog…" Sage said sternly as she summoned up a portal for the two to go through.
Without another word, Sonic gently let go of Tails and came to Sage, walking besides her into the portal. However before Sonic walked in, he turned around quickly, giving a thumbs up to Tails with a smile.
"I'll be back before you know it buddy!" Sonic called loudly before he disappeared along with Sage.
"Sonic!" Tails shouted as he ran froward, ready to jump into the portal to follow his friend, but he was too late and now the fox was alone with Amy.
Tails fell to his knees as he let tears escape, Amy coming up and putting a hand on her friend.
"Why did he do that?" Tails cried.
"He did it for us Tails." Amy reminded her friend. "Sonic's going to be okay, he always is, right now we better do what he says." Amy urged the fox who was still having a breakdown, still believing he lost his best friend.
"No…" Tails spoke quietly, but loud enough for Amy to hear him.
"Tails, Sonic said to…" Amy began, but the fox cut his friend off.
"I know what Sonic said!" Tails burst out, surprising the female hedgehog. "But now it's up to us to save him, he did the same for us, now come on, we better get a move on if we're going to find Sonic and Sage." Tails determined to not give in so easily, Sonic was in trouble and what friend would Tails be if he didn't stay by Sonic's side. "Hang on Sonic, we're coming and we're going home together." Tails thought in his head as he hoped Sonic was alright and they could finally defeat Sage for good and end whatever plans she had for their world.
And that's a wrap on this quick little one shot!
I hope you enjoyed it and I don't know if this will happen, but if it does… Well I guess I can read the game developers' minds!
