Maybe she did need new friends, thought Jackie. 1979 was going to be her year, or as much of it as she could salvage anyway. The first half of the year was a clusterfuck to say the least. "Welcome to Glamour" Jackie heard the girl at the door say. "I'm Liz" Jackie looked at the girl, smiled and stretched out her hand to shake. "Jackie" she replied. Maybe tonight was the night she'd get those new friends. Liz smiled at Jackie's out stretched hand and took it in hers, not normally something she'd do, but there was something about this girl. "It's nice to see someone here who isn't ignorant to fashion" Liz said. Jackie laughed; it'd been so long since she genuinely laughed. "I know how you feel, back home everyone is fine dressing like…lumberjacks." Jackie said with a slight smirk. Liz nodded, looking like she understood. "Let me get someone to watch the door and I'll show you around, I have a feeling we're going to be fast friends." Said Liz, leading Jackie into the club.

Jackie was overwhelmed with the décor of the club. The first thing she noticed was a sign outlining the dress code. Thank God for that, she thought to herself, otherwise just anyone would be able to get in here. They made their way to the bar. Jackie paid more attention to Liz now. She was petite, about her height but she also wore heels like she did. She was also as thin as Jackie was but that's where the similarities ended. Liz had long blonde hair with porcelain skin and the bluest eyes she had ever seen. Bluer than Steven's she thought and internally scolded herself for thinking of him. Anita Ward blasted through the sound system, hordes of beautifully dressed people dancing and grinding on each other on the dance floor. She was going to have a good time if it killed her. "What do you want to drink?" asked Liz. Jackie looked over the bar and spotted a bottle of Galliano; "a Harvey wall banger" replied Jackie. Liz nodded and called over the bartender giving their order. Liz wasn't able to drink anything other than blood but they did have to maintain appearances, following Jackie's lead she ordered the same thing. The drinks came, Jackie drank hers happily, Liz's stayed untouched. "So," asked Liz, "what brings you out here by yourself on your birthday?' Jackie sighed, took a long drink from her glass and started telling Liz her tale.

Liz was impressed with how well Jackie held herself together, considering everything she'd been through. She was especially impressed with her fashion knowledge. It was so hard finding like-minded people in these small towns. Liz much preferred city life, but her master had work to do as sheriff here. Sure, she could venture off on her own, but he was her best friend and she genuinely liked being near him. So, she was stuck with small town life until told otherwise. Jacqueline, however, was a breath of fresh air. Liz had an amazing idea and she was sure Jacqueline would go for it. "Jacqueline dear," said Liz, "how would you like to be my personal assistant? I have business meetings with my brother during the day, not to mention the rest of the work we have to do to keep our businesses running. I'd need you to do my shopping for me. I'd give you my sizes and measurements and you'd buy all my shoes and clothes. Whatever doesn't fit me you'd have to take back the next day. You'd be doing other things as well, like taking care of my bills and other tasks that can only be done during the day. You'd be paid a decent salary and you'd have access to live in one of our apartment buildings that we reserve for our employees. The apartment would be here in Kenosha, so you'd have to leave Point Place." Jackie couldn't believe what she was hearing, this sounded too good to be true, but leave Point Place? Could she actually do it? Jackie looked over at Liz, smiled and asked "When can I start?"

Back in the basement…

Kelso and Fez walk into the basement, Kelso was carrying a gift box with him. "Is Jackie here?" asked Kelso. "No, thank God." Scoffed Hyde, even though he wished she was. "We wanted to take her out for her birthday and give her the gifts we got her but we don't know where she is," said Fez. "Well, she isn't here" said Hyde, semi annoyed that dumb and dumber were still creeping on Jackie. "You know what, she talked about maybe going to that club in Kenosha. Maybe we should go there." Said Fez. "That's a long drive, let's check the mansion first. Maybe Pam came home and decided to be a good mom for once. If Jackie isn't there then we get to see her hot mom for a while!" yelled Kelso excitedly as he and Fez ran out of the basement.

What did they mean maybe Pam came home? How long has she been gone? Thought Hyde.

Back inside Glamour…

Liz and Jackie celebrated her new employment status by dancing all night. Jackie hadn't had so much fun in a long time. Then she had to stop mid dance because in walked the most beautiful man she had ever seen. He was tall. So tall. Much taller than Michael. He had long blonde hair and looked like he was sculpted by the Gods. Liz noticed where Jackie's gaze had wandered. Liz spoke in her ear, trying to be heard over the music. "That's my brother Leif, I can introduce you if you'd like." Liz smirked. Jackie, unable to talk, just nodded her head.
Leif could feel how excited his child was. Liz didn't usually get excited when they were at work, he had to go see what had her so giddy. Then he saw her. She was dancing with Liz. She was petite, dancing like she was making love. Her raven hair moving with her. She looked up and saw him, her eyes mis-matched. One green and one blue. How charming, she is definitely more than a fuck and feed he thought. He made his way to Liz and introduced himself. "Leif Eric Northman, and you are?" he took her hand and kissed it. Jackie blushed and found she couldn't speak. Liz smirked and helped her out. "This is Jacqueline B. Burkhart. Today is her 19th birthday and I just made her my personal assistant." Of course, Liz would hire her, thought Leif, she's dressed better than anyone else here. "Pleased to meet you, Jacqueline." Leif smiled down at her. Jackie smiled back and looked into his eyes. She once thought she could get lost in the blue of Steven's eyes, but looking into Leif's eyes was like looking into the sea. She'd never seen something so beautiful. "Pleased to meet you." Jackie finally replied, feeling herself blush a little. "I hope my sister is showing you a good time." Said Leif. "I just got here myself, would you care to dance with me?" Jackie smiled up at him and took his hand as he led her to the dance floor. Steven hates dancing, Jackie thought to herself, absolutely giddy to be dancing with such a handsome man. Maybe she was right earlier when she thought she didn't need Steven in her life, things were starting to look good for once. They danced until the bar closed. It was one of the best nights of her life. Liz and Leif made sure to get her a cab home considering how much she had drunk. Leif walked Jackie to her cab and gave her his business card with his personal number written on the back. He told her to take a cab back to club the next day to pick up her car and he'd set it up to get paid for. She thanked him and got inside the car. She gave her address and sat back. She couldn't wait to tell Fez and Michael about her new job and friends.

Leif and Liz enter his office. "Liz," began Leif, "tell me about miss Jacqueline Burkhart. " Liz smirked. she knew he'd ask. "She's 19 as of yesterday, her father is in prison for embezzlement, her mother abandoned her. She's currently living off a trust fund her grandparents set up for her, and her ex-boyfriend misinterpreted something that happened between herself and another boy and left her without asking for clarification. He returned a month later from Las Vegas where he was in a constant drunken stupor, and was followed by a new stripper wife." Leif chuckled. Humans are idiots" he said between laughs. Liz chuckled alongside him. "Indeed. Well needless to say I noticed her shoes and clothing and we hit it off. If she weren't so into men, I'd consider keeping her as a pet. Instead, I offered to have her work as my day girl." Leif rolled his eyes, "You're just going to have this girl shop at stores that aren't open late." "I'll have other tasks for her" growled Liz. Leif smirked at his child; she was definitely spoiled but that was his own doing so he couldn't seriously complain. "She shows potential, she's been through a lot and she hasn't succumbed to wallowing. I think she'd be a fine day girl. You should glamour her to let go of the ex-boyfriend. He isn't doing her any favors." "You know as well as I do the glamour won't last long enough." Liz was thoughtful for a second, "I'll glamour her to live her life as best as possible and not to let other people dictate what she does. That's innocuous enough to not cause any damage to her life." Leif nodded in agreement. "When she comes to sign her work contract take her to see her new apartment. Have you decided which one she'll get?" "I have," Liz stated. "Very well, let me know if any changes are needed and I'll have them taken care of." Liz nodded, wished her master a good day and left to go to rest.
