Chapter 3: The New York Sanctum

On a sunny day, the streets of the Big Apple, or more commonly known as New York City, were bustling with activity. In a secluded alley, hidden from the eyes of everyone, a bright flash appeared leaving five individuals.

"Oh my god! I feel sick. I think I am going to hurl." said one of the individuals.

"Oohhhh! It feels like when I was hungover with Aqua but like 10 times worse." said another one.

" This is going to take some getting use to."

The people gathered their wits and observed each other. The first person was a tall octopus in bright yellow and a permanent smiley face. He also had a lot of tentacles and was dressed as a teacher. This person was Korosensei. The teleportation didn't affect him too much because he is used to travelling at high speed. The person on his left was a young woman with bright scarlet hair of about 18 years wearing armour with the Fairy Tail guild logo and a skirt. Her name was Erza Scarlet The next person, who was currently vomiting, was a Japanese boy with brown hair and dark eyes. He was about 17 years old and was wearing simply a green tracksuit. His name was Satou Kazuma. The one after was a young Japanese girl, of 16 years with long black hair and a birthmark under her left eye dressed in all black like gothic lolita was Kuroneko, otherwise, known as Goko Ruri. Last but not least is the admin of the group: Miyamura Izumi.

" Hello everyone, it's great to finally meet you. I'm Miyamura Izumi." he greeted everyone.

"Hello, it is a pleasure to meet you face to face," said Erza

"Hello everyone. You have the honour of meeting the Queen of Nightmare." Kuroneko said with a smug face and her hands on her hips. Everyone looked at her and Kazuma spoke.

" And I am Satou Kazuma"

"Hey!" shouted Kuroneko.

"Hello there Kuroneko," greeted Izumi, Korosensei and Erza.

"And it is I, Korosensei, at your service." the octopus greeted with a gentlemanly bow.

"Wait, Erza, which language are you speaking?" asked Kazuma confused.

"What are you talking about? I am speaking in English," said Erza with a raised eyebrow.

"But we are speaking in Japanese" interjected Kuroneko.

At this instant, a notification was heard and the system screen appeared in front of everyone.

[To facilitate communication in each world, the members have been bestowed with the ability called the Silver Tongue.]

[Silver tongue: The ability to comprehend any written and spoken language almost instantly]

"This is amazing. No more struggles in English in class," said Kuroneko with shining eyes.

"This is most certainly useful," said Erza.

"Why couldn't I have this before I die?" cried Kazuma

"Oh! This is good! Now I can read any magazine!" said Korosensei as his skin colour changed to pink while letting out small perverted chuckles

Nobody could say anything to him as they stared at him.

'This is good. What an amazing ability. The potential is insane.' Izumi.

"Alright, now that we are here. We must find somewhere to stay like a hotel or anything," said Izumi.

Everyone nodded.

"The problem is that we don't know where we are and we don't have money."

A depressed aura was become appeared around everyone.

"Well this mission is off to a great start," stated Kazuma sarcastically.

"Stay right here everyone, I will check around," said Korosensei.

"Alright but be sure to not create any sonic boom. We don't want the attention just yet," said Izumi.

"You got it!" Korosensei replied as he vanished.

"Okay while he is scouting let's talk about what we need to do," said Izumi

"You are right. What do you think we should do," asked Erza

"I assume you have all seen the movie right?" asked Izumi as the other nodded.

"Then we will first have to see what time we have arrived, then plan accordingly." he continued.

"But how will we know? It doesn't exactly say the date in the movie," asks Kazuma.

"We will have to wait for Korosensei to finish his scouting. There he is." Izumi says as the yellow octopus appeared in front of them.

"So?" asked Kuroneko.

"Well. The date is now April 24, 2012, and we are in New York City on the island of Manhattan. Here is a map I stole." he said while showing the map of New York.

"There was the Stark Tower which is almost done and it seems that they will be able to power it up in a week." he continued.

"Then we can assume the events will start in a week," said Kazuma.

"There is one thing that stood out though," he said.

"Really? What is it?" asked Izumi.

"As I was scouting, I passed by a building, and I sensed energy. It is different from the mana that we have, but also similar." finished Korosensei. Every member could sense energies of a different kind since they awakened their mana.

"Magic? But there was no mention of magic in the movie," said Erza. The group pondered on it until Izumi hit his fist on his palm when a memory struck him.

"It wasn't mentioned because it will be mentioned in the future," said Izumi with a smile

"I don't understand," asked Kuroneko.

"In my previous life, there were still movies that were produced following the Avengers 2012. One of them was Doctor Strange. It was mentioned that there were 3 buildings around the world that they call the Sanctums which are like the library of the magic world. I think the building that Korosensei sensed was the New York Sanctum. I think the energy that you sensed is their magic." explained Izumi.

"Oh!" The others acknowledged.

"What the hell is this!? This is bullshit! First superpowered soldiers, then crazy green monsters, after alien invasions, and now they have magic. What is up with this messed up world!" ranted Kazuma.

"What should we do?" asked Kuroneko as she started to get worried.

"We should go to the New York Sanctum," replied Izumi.

"Why is that?" asked Korosensei. The others waited for his answer.

"Because the current Sorcerer Supreme has the ability to see the future and I am sure that our arrival has changed something."

"THE FUTURE!" shouted the four other chat members.

"Yes, quiet down. We will go there and explain the situation, but we will not reveal everything. Is that ok?" asked Izumi.

"Yes," the other replied.

"All right, Erza change into something more casual. We don't want everyone looking at you. Korosensei no one will see you anyway with your speed, but for added security, I want you to use your camouflage and meet us there."

"Ok. But there is one problem," said Korosensei with a strange tone in his voice.

"What is it?" asked Izumi.

"Well, it's kind of embarrassing," said Korosensei as his skin colour started to change to pink

"Just spit it out already!" said Kazuma as he started to lose his temper.

"I have to take my clothes off for it to work." the octopus finally said.

A silence permeated the alley.

"What are you? A defenceless maiden? Do you think this is a shoujo manga? You're going to be in disguise and nobody can see you when you are fast. No one cares if you are naked. Now get your clothes off and get moving!" said Izumi with a barely restrained voice as a tick mark appeared on his forehead. No one seems to notice Kuroneko blushing hard.

"You know. If this was any other situation, I would have called the cops on you." deadpanned Kazuma. Now Erza started to blush as her face turned to the same colour as her hair as she imagined the situation in her head.

" I don't care. Let's move." Izumi said with a huff and started walking. The others followed soon after.

After 15 minutes of walking, everyone arrived in front of an old-looking building. They opened the door and they met with a bald person in a monk cloth brooming on the floor.

"Can I help you?" he asked.

"Yes, we would like to meet the Ancient One," Izumi stated as he stepped forward. The monk examined each person even Korosensei who disabled his camouflage. It seems that the monk has seen weirder things in his life because he didn't look surprised.

" One moment please." He put his broom back and went to the back leaving the group alone.

"Hey, Izumi," asked Kuroneko.

"Yes?"

"Who is the Ancient One?"

"She is the current Sorcerer Supreme. It's like the boss of this organization."

"She?"

"Yes, she."

"If she is called the Ancient One, then she would be like super old right" interjected Kazuma

"You'll see," said Izumi with a mysterious smile.

"Tsk! Damn pretty boy trying to act cool"

Suddenly, sparks appeared and the space in front of them distorted as a circle appeared revealing a dark-coloured man who stepped through the portal.

"The Ancient One is waiting for you on the other side. I will be your guide until then," he said.

"Cool! A real-life portal!" exclaimed Kazuma.

The group stepped through the portal and arrived inside what looked like a monastery.

"Follow me." the man said.

The group followed him. As they were walking they saw many people dressed similarly in monk clothes reading books or practicing magic.

Soon they arrived in front of a door.

"The Ancient one is waiting for you inside." He said. Izumi open the door and stepped inside. The rest soon followed after. Korosensei had to crouch a bit due to his size.

Inside was a modest-looking room with a small table. Occupying one side was a middle-aged-looking blad woman wearing a different kind of monk clothes. Everyone sat on the other side of the table with Izumi seating directly in front of the woman. Silence reigned in the room.

"Psst, I thought she was a really old-looking woman," whispered Kazuma to Kuroneko.

"Maybe she has some sort of immortality." whispered back Kuroneko.

"My view of old people has been shattered"

"Would you like some tea Mr...?" asked the Ancient One.

"Izumi, Izumi Miyamura. And, yes we would like some tea," replied Izumi using the American name position. The woman took out 4 more teacups and poured more tea into the five cups and passed it to everyone.

"So what can I do for you, Mr. Miyamura?" she asked.

" First let me introduce my team. The young girl in black is Ruri Gokou, the one with scarlet hair Is Erza Scarlet, the one in the green tracksuit is Kazuma Satou and finally the giant octopus is Ryushi Korogane, but we call him Korosensei. And we are here because of the future." Izumi said.

The Ancient One's eyes raised.

"Oh? And what future would that be?" she asked.

"I'm sure you have seen it. I'm talking about the Chitauri invasion in New York." Izumi said as he locked his eyes on her.

After a long pause, she spoke.

"You are right. I have seen it, but I don't see you anywhere in the future which means that either you have detached yourselves from the river of Time making you a true immortal or you are not from around here," she said as she gazed at the room eyeing everyone.

"You are right. We were sent here to protect New York." Izumi said.

"And why have you come here specifically?" she asked.

"I am sure that you have seen that Shield will bring a group of special individuals together and call them the Avengers right?"

She nodded.

"But I am also sure that you have seen that the invasion will cause a lot of casualties because of that."

She nodded again.

"Which is why we are here. To save New York and save as many as possible." Izumi finished.

"And what do you need me to do?"

"We just need a place to stay and train until the invasion." Izumi requested.

After a long pause, she nodded.

"Very well, Master Mordo will accompany you to your room. You can press the bell in your room if you have any questions, he will answer them for you," she said and the door opened revealing once again Master Mordo.

The man guided them to their room and Izumi entered his. Waiting for him to leave, Izumi opened the chat.

[Izumi]" Guys, there is something I haven't mentioned.

[Erza]: What is it?

[Izumi]: I don't think this mission is going to be as simple as we thought.

[Kazuma]: What do you mean?

[Izumi]: I don't think the system sent us just to stop the invasion. I think something is going to be different.

[Korosensei]: Is it those anomalies the system was talking about?

[Izumi]: I don't think so. Otherwise, the system would have mentioned it. I think the invasion will progress differently.

[Kuroneko]: Are you saying we won't know what's going to happen?

[Kazuma]: What was the use of the movie then?

[Izumi]: We do have some knowledge, but I just want you to keep your eyes peeled and stay alert.

[Erza]: Ok

[Korosensei]: Ok

[Kazuma]: Ok

[Kuroneko]: Ok

[Izumi]: Then rest well because we are going to train tomorrow.

As Izumi closed the chat, someone knocked on his door. Izumi opened revealing once again Master Mordo.

"What can I do for you, Master Mordo."

"The Ancient one is calling for you and here," he said handing Izumi a card.

"What's this? Some sort of mantra?" As Izumi said. He was hit with some sort of deja vu, but couldn't place it where.

Master Mordo looked at him with a smirk.

"That's the wifi password. We may be sorcerers, but we're not savages," he said and started walking.

Izumi just deadpanned and followed him.
