CARRIE: Back to the Future

Chapter 1: The Story of Carrie White

Date: Saturday 22nd June 2013

Time: 10:00pm

Location: Thomas Ewen High School, Chamberlain, Maine, USA

Around just after 10:00pm that night, the local high school: Thomas Ewen High School, was engulphed in flames, during Prom night for the senior students. Several students & teachers were killed, not just from being burned by the fires, some were electrocuted, some were trampled to death trying to escape, some were even found sliced in half by the bleachers… the cause of the disaster was never truly uncovered by the local authorities at first… but for some of those who survived, the true cause, was one of the very students at the school… A student that everyone treated like trash: Carrie White.

Born Carrietta Nicole White, in 1995, to her parents: Margaret Brigham White, & the late Ralph White, Carrie was abused, and treated like the devil, by her religiously unstable and fanatical mother, who nearly killed her, just as she'd been born, who even home schooled her, never letting her into the outside world, believing everything to be sinful… even going as far as locking Carrie in the 'Prayer Closet', as punishment, for just trying to be normal and trying to fit in with the outside world…

Once the state declared that Carrie could no longer be homeschooled, she was sent to Ewen Highschool, where life from 6th grade was Hell to her… she was bullied for her beliefs, by nearly every student & teacher, especially by a group in her class: The Mortimer Snerds, led by Christine Hargensen, who committed all sorts of sadistic and cruel actions towards Carrie. When Carrie had her first Menstrual Period, during gym class, Chris and the ultras continued bullying, and throwing tampons at Carrie she believed she was bleeding to death, while crying for help, while Chris sadistically recorded the whole incident, and would later post the video on YouTube. One of the Ultras though: Susan Dee Snell, had come to her senses, realizing what she had done and been part of, she knew it was all wrong. Sue attempted to make amends towards Carrie, as well as try to redeem herself, by asking her boyfriend: Thomas Everett Ross, to take Carrie to the upcoming Senior Prom night, instead of Sue herself… Tommy was reluctant at first, as well as Carrie, but both eventually complied… Chris however, had been banned from prom, as she was found out to have posted Carrie's period incident video, by the school gym teacher: Rita Lauren Desjardin, Chris even tried to get her lawyer & father: John Hargensen, to turn the tide, but as Chris wouldn't show evidence, he had no choice to go against his own selfish daughter… Chris then sought revenge…

After killing some pigs at the local farm, and stealing their blood, Chris, alongside her sort-of boyfriend: William 'Billy' Nolan, and his gang friends, Jackie Talbot & Kenny Garson, they set up a prank for Carrie…

As Prom night commenced, everyone had the time of their lives, the students and teachers were all having the time of their lives, even Carrie & Tommy, who danced, and even won as King & Queen of the Prom… but after receiving a text from Chris, about her prank, Sue quickly rushed to the school, in an attempt to warn Carrie & Tommy, and prevent the prank, only for Miss Desjardin, to push Sue out of the hall, believing she was up to something…

As Carrie & Tommy were crowned on the stage, Chris & Billy pulled the bucket of cold pigs' blood, as the blood fell, and splattered all over Carrie… After their sadistic success, Chris's best friend: Christina Blake, replayed the video, causing the whole hall to laugh at Carrie… but those choices and actions, along with Chris and Billy accidently killing Tommy in the process of their prank, was the final nail on all their coffins…

Carrie unleashed her secret powers, through a shockwave or rage, blasting everyone across the hall, killing Chris & Sue's friend: Heather Shyres, via smashing her into the fire escape doors, face first… Carrie then continued to pick off every single student and teacher who wronged her, one by one, even those who hadn't really done anything wrong to her, including Freddy Holt, who recorded Carrie, just before she fatally smashed a table into him, before setting off the fire sprinklers, almost flooding the hall floors… as several tried to escape to the fire exits, that Carrie had closed and locked with her powers, The Watson Twins: Nicole & Elizabeth, tried to get to the doors, only for Carrie to use her powers to push them over to the floor, allowing everyone else to trample the twins to death, in a desperate plea to escape…

After Carrie picked off more of her former tormentors, Carrie broke some of the stage lighting cables, causing sparks from the cables to trigger a fire, which quickly spread throughout the hall. Carrie then noticed Tina being recused by Mr. Ullman, another teacher, who tormented her, under Tina's influence… in their attempt to escape, Carrie used her powers to throw the burning moon prop at them, separating them, before Carrie began whipping her Tina with the electric cables, until she stood in some burning furniture, as Tina caught fire, and burned to death, as Rita Desjardin, Tommy's best friend: George Dawson, & his girlfriend: Erika Gogan, all watched in horror from the sight…

As Rita turned to Carrie, Carrie used her powers, grabbing her gym teacher by the throat in a vice like grip, before lifting her up into the air… Rita was sure Carrie was going to kill her too, before Carrie threw the cables onto the flooded floor, electrocuting several students and teachers in the process, including Ullman… But just as Rita thought Carrie was going to drop her and let her be electrocuted as well, Carrie flung her onto the stage, next to Tommy's body, before Carrie levitated and floated out of the burning school, as Rita watched in disbelief…

As Carrie landed outside the school, as it was quickly engulfed by the fires she caused, Carrie then heard the rumble of a car she recognized, as she saw Chris & Billy attempting to drive away and escape from what they had made Carrie do… As Chris & Billy managed to avoid the quickly rushing police cars, after arguing and agreeing to leave town and never look back, they began driving off, until Carrie used her powers again, as she caused the road to crack & collapse in front of them, as they nearly fell in… as they turned around back the way they came, they saw Carrie standing in the road before them… Chris influenced Billy to run Carrie over, which he complied, but before they were about to hit her, Carrie's powers blocked them, crashing straight into her powers, killing Billy in the process, banging his nose fatally on the steering wheel…

After coming round, and finding Billy dead, as well as Carrie still alive, Chris attempted to escape, only for Carrie to lock her inside the car, before attempting to strangle her with the seat belt… Chris managed to get free, before trying to finish Carrie herself, attempting to run her over again, only for Carrie to lift the car off the road, and throw it into Teddy's Gas Station behind her, as Chris's head went face first into the windscreen, getting stuck in the process… As Carrie walked over to her, Chris tried to beg for help from Carrie, but was too injured, as her face was pierced from the glass of the windscreen, and bleeding to death, until she stopped functioning… But despite seeing her arch nemesis die before her, Carrie just walked away, before she caused a nearby power cable to break, and crash down on to the leaking Car, before the car, and the gas station exploded into flames, as Carrie walked away…

(Later, at the White's residence…)

After Carrie's vengeful prom massacre, her lips trembled and her eyes turned watery. Carrie washed her face twice and rubbed her eyes. She looked at her hands, still had blood on her. She tried to get the blood off her and cried for what happened; what she did, mostly. The clean water had turned into a bloodbath. Her knees pressed up to her chest and hugged it closer to her. She rocked back and forth like a traumatised child. All she could do was cry.

"I'm sorry." Carrie whispered upsettingly, shaking her head. "I'm sorry."

Once she got out of the red bathwater, Carrie wrapped a cream towel and dried herself: face, neck, arms, stomach, legs and feet. She entered her bedroom and took out a baby blue nightie from her drawer. She dropped the towel on the floor and put on her nightie. Then, Carrie walked out of her bedroom, planning to see her mother. The whole house was dead quiet as if it was a good place for a ghost to hang around it.

"Mama?" She spoke like a child and stopped at the edge of the stairs. "Mama?"

Carrie felt a strong presence behind her; someone was behind her. She turned her head and saw a middle-aged woman wearing a long white nightgown. Her auburn hair was down to her breasts and her bleak green eyes were looking at Carrie. Her mother, Margaret.

"Mama." Carrie went to her mother and they hugged each other tightly. "Oh, Mama. You were right. They laughed at me, Mommy. They all laughed at me."

"I knew they would hurt my little girl." Margaret whispered in a sigh, caressing her daughter's damp hair. Then, she confessed to Carrie. "I should have killed myself when he put it in me. We slept in the same bed, lived together sinlessly. Then, one night, I saw him looking at me in that way. And we got down on our knees to pray for strength. And that's when he took me."

"No, Mama." Interrupted Carrie, trying to get away from her but Margaret pulled her in closer. "I don't want to hear it."

"And I liked it." Margaret placed her left hand on Carrie's cheek.

"Mama, no." Carrie whispered, begging her mother to stop talking about the conception.

"I should have given you to God when you were born." admitted Margaret. "But, I was weak and I love you so much." Her green eyes started to tear up. "I said: 'God, let me keep my little girl. Let me keep her'."

Tears fell from mother and daughter. Margaret's cold hand still rested on Carrie's warm cheek. She took a breath in as she told her daughter the command in a whisper. "Let's pray."

"Yes, Mama." Carrie replied and kissed her mother's hands. "Yes, we pray."

"I'll be the preacher." Margaret had given herself the role and Carrie knelt on the ground, still gripping onto her mother's hands. "You'll be my congregation." Margaret knelt on the floor and began her prayer. "Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name." They wrapped their arms around each other as she spoke. "They will be done… on Earth." She took a kitchen knife out of the hole in the wooden floor. "As it is." the knife rose above her head. "In Heaven."

The knife collided inside Carrie's upper back and her mouth opened, releasing a gasp. A sharp pain rushed through her back and Margaret's grip tightened around the knife handle.

"Mama!" shrieked Carrie and a strong force pushed them apart: Margaret in her room and Carrie falling downstairs, hurting her back even more.

Carrie landed on her back on the living room floor. Her eyes opened and Margaret walked down on the stairs murderously, the blood-pointed knife in her right hand. Carrie began to move backward while mildly injured.

"No, Mama." Carrie begged while crawling away in pain. "Mama, please."

"This isn't your fault, Carrie. It's mine." Margaret said as she sauntered closer to her child. "You know the Devil never dies. He keeps coming back. You've got to keep killing him. Over and over again."

Carrie didn't understand why her mother was acting this way. She knew Margaret was crazily religious but she would never harm her in that way. She dodged the knife as mother and daughter started fighting. Fighting for survival. Knife-slashing, Margaret and Carrie screaming as they fought for dominance until Margaret got on top. The knife blade got closer to Carrie's neck.

"Mama, stop it!" Carrie yelled and pushed her mother up.

Margaret sliced her daughter's arm and Carrie screamed at the large slash. Both green eyes met, and Carrie knew one thing for sure. Her mother tried to kill her and she needed to get out. The knife rose up and a light gleamed at the blade. As the knife quickly dove, Carrie stopped the blade with her power. The blade stopped close to her face. Margaret, using her strength, tried to lower her knife down.

Then, suddenly, Carrie's telekinesis lifted Margaret up and off her body. Knives and needles flew out of their resting place and aimed at Margaret. Her green eyes widened in shock and gasped.

"Carrie." Margaret told her in a whisper, trying to calm her child down.

"I'm sorry." Carrie apologised, as she started to cry.

"CARRIE!" Margaret yelled.

Then, Carrie screamed and Margaret flew to the wall near the prayer closet. Sharp objects flew towards the pinned mother and the blades penetrated her body: hands, chest and stomach. Carrie lifted herself up from the ground and slowly walked to her crufixed mother. The blood was draining out of Margaret and she gasped, raising her head. Carrie pulled out all the sharp objects, knives and needles, out from her mother's hands and chest. She held her mother in her arms and gently placed Margaret on the floor. Carrie rubbed her mother's auburn hair as she shushed her dying mother.

"It's okay." Carrie began speaking to her mother. "No one's going to hurt you."

Margaret stared blankly at her child. Her heart slowly beat and her eyelids closed, hiding her green eyes. Carrie let the tears out from her eyes and hugged the lifeless body tightly.

Her mother was dead.

Nothing was left for her.

The door creaked open and a young woman entered the White house. Her blonde hair was damp and her blue eyes were watered. She was wearing her casual clothes: navy blue jacket, skinny jeans, a yellow top and a pair of blue tied shoes. She saw the mourning woman cradling her dead mother. Her heart ached for the daughter.

"Carrie?" asked a familiar female voice.

Carrie responded to the voice by turning her head and saw the woman. It was Sue, one of her tormentors at school and was spotted at Prom. Carrie's muscles tensed as her eyes dried.

"Let me help you, Carrie." Sue offered.

"Why couldn't you leave me alone?" Carrie asked while crying.

"I'm sorry." Sue replied.

Carrie looked at Sue and her right hand aimed at her. Sue's throat tightened and started to gag while gasping for air. Carrie didn't feel this sadness anymore. The only emotion she felt was anger.

"Look what you turned me into." Carrie whispered, cradling her mother's body and using her power to choke her bully.

"Don't hurt me, Carrie!" Sue begged, managing to say through the choke.

"Why not? I've been hurt my whole life." Carrie replied.

Carrie then lets go of Sue and picks up Margaret's body in a bridal style. The house began to creak and rumbled. She continued to cry through her words, speaking to Sue. "I killed my mom. I want her back. I'm… I'm scared."

A large stone fell through the roof. The house rumbled as the raining stones continued to fall upon it. Carrie fell on her knees to the floor, still holding on to the body, as bricks and hailstones fell. The house was falling apart.

"We've gotta get out of here!" Sue yelled and ran towards Carrie, avoiding the falling stones as if she was in a video game. She stretched forth her hand. "Give me your hand! Come on!"

Carrie looked up and sensed that something was odd about Sue. There was something moving inside her body. She led her hand to Sue's stomach and heard a rapid heartbeat. It wasn't threatening, but new.

"It's a girl." Carrie gasped as she told her happily.

"What?" Sue enquired bewilderedly.

"You don't know?" Carrie asked in concern.

Sue's blue eyes watered. There was new life inside of her. Carrie, with telekinesis, lifted her up from the ground carefully.

"Get out!" Carrie cried in command. "GET OUT!"

She pushed Sue out of her broken home. Carrie turned her head, looking down, and brushed the thin piece of auburn hair away from her face. She kissed her mother's forehead.

"It's okay." Carrie said to herself quietly as the house started to collapse on her.

She was waiting for Death to come to her, taking her away from this hellish world. Everybody in Chamberlain hated her for all her life. She despised Chamberlain. But then, a glowing orangish red emerged on the ground. As Carrie watched curiously, it grew bigger and bigger. She fell down the mysterious portal and she embraced her fate.

Sue rubbed her stomach gently as she watched the house fall.

(Later, at the Courthouse…)

A few days later, an investigation happened. Stewart Murphy, the Head Commissioner, was responsible for the investigation of the Prom Massacre. Murphy looked directly at the recovered Sue in the courthouse.

"Miss Snell," began Murphy in a calm manner. "We're trying to determine the exact role Carrie White played in the tragedy on prom night. You would agree that you were under an enormous amount of stress. Isn't it possible that what you saw was a natural act?"

Sue's breath trembled at the word 'natural'. She looked up at Murphy.

"My boyfriend… Tommy Ross." Sue paused for a moment and placed her hand on her stomach.

Sue remembered what Carrie told her. Her boyfriend, Tommy Ross, died at the Prom Massacre. She was pregnant with a girl. She was carrying his baby.

"Most of my friends died that night." Sue resumed. "But I know what I saw. Do you want an explanation? Carrie had some sort of power but she was like me. Like any of you." She looked back to the people sitting in the courthouse. Then, she faced Murphy once more. "She had hope and she had fears. And we pushed her, and you can only push someone so far before they break."

"Chris Hargensen." Murphy replied.

"Yes. She was my friend. She and her boyfriend, Billy Nolan. I hate Chris Hargensen." Sue replied.

"Your boyfriend's killer?" Murphy asked in concern.

"Yes. Chris Hargensen and Billy Nolan killed Tommy Ross." Sue replied.

"That's right." Murphy replied.

"Yes, sir." Sue replied.

(Later at Chamberlain Community Cemetery…)

The next day, Sue decided to pay a visit to the Chamberlain Community Cemetery. Her clothes were all black: jacket, pants, top, boots, and even a beanie hat. Her left hand held a white rose and her right hand held a large black umbrella. The sky was covered in dark gray clouds as the thin drops of rain fell from above, soaking on what was left of Chamberlain.

After the tragedy of the Prom Massacre, Chamberlain was still in recovery. People were still mourning for the lives of the young students and some teachers. According to the survivors of the massacre, a teenaged female, known by the name of Carrie White, started to scream out of rage after droplets of blood were rising in mid-air from her arms, and released an immense shockwave towards the crowd; nearly everything blew to the back of the gym hall. While people were panicking and dying, they said that Carrie levitated off the ground and floated outside. Many eyewitnesses stated that Carrie walked to her house while going on a rampage, as she does, and destroying the town. About ten minutes later, the house on Carlin Street, belonging to the White family, disappeared and the family was declared dead.

But Sue wasn't planning to visit the graves of the victims. She was visiting the grave of one person and her heart sank at what she saw. The headstone was engraved with two names on it…

MARGARET WHITE

1966-2013

CARRIE WHITE

1995-2013

On the headstone, it was vandalised by red spray paint. Sue couldn't believe anyone could do that to any headstones. The red writing read:

CARRIE WHITE BURNS IN HELL.

She placed the rose in front of the headstone and walked away.

(1 year later…)

Date: Tuesday 14th January 2014

Time: 9:05 pm

Year: 2014

Location: Westover Doctor's Hospital

Revolving and transitioning inside of the Westover Doctor's Hospital, passing by separate rooms and separate floors, it stops on Floor 6 and rotates to over to the room of one Sue's feeling of Deja Vu overtook her as she was screaming and writhing in excruciating pain, preparing to give birth to her firstborn. Only her mother: Eleanor Snell, she was present beside her as she had to watch her daughter keep pushing and pushing only for the pain to intensify.

It was at this moment where Sue flashes back to a nightmare she had in which this exact predicament happens, only a bloody arm would come out and grab her. Every time she goes back to that memory, it would scare her like Hell.

In the midst of the procedure, Sue began shaking and shuffling in her hospital bed as the doctors tried keeping her steady as she just kept screaming.

"NO!" Sue screamed.

"Sue...it was just a dream. Keep pushing." Eleanor replied.

Knowing how close to over it would be, Sue followed her mother's advice, continuing to hold on for dear life until finally, she yelled in deep pain and agony, pushing as hard as she could muster until she just couldn't anymore.

Soon though, she heard crying...faint baby crying...

If the sound wasn't angelic enough, the sight would definitely change that including what the doctor told her next.

"You have a baby girl, Ms. Snell." The doctor replied.

The words rang through Sue like a wrecking ball. She couldn't help but to smile while panting as she remembered what a certain somebody had said to her one night...

"It's a girl." The doctor replied.

"What?" Sue asked in concern.

"You don't know." The doctor replied.

"Oh my god…" Sue was shocked.

As soon as they cleaned her up and wrapped the baby up in a blanket, they gave her to Sue as her mother smiled and looked closely at her new born granddaughter.

The baby just slides her hand across Sue's chin and it made her chuckle slightly at what had to be a dream come true. She lets out a small sigh of relief.

"H-hi, hi there...my little Carrie." Sue replied.
