Chapter Two – Unknown Territory
Sonic was left severely shaken in the days following the battle. They had won, Eggman had been destroyed. There was celebrations everywhere but the Blue Blur wasn't in the mood. His friends just put it down to shock of having finally won against the Human, and Sonic didn't argue. But the truth was, Sukko was gone from him and the Physic Link, and now Sonic felt incredibly lonely, despite being surrounded by people, praising him as the Hero. But in the end, he just ran away, desperate to be alone. It was about a week later, asleep in a forest, in the middle of nowhere, he felt it. A presence, right in the back of his mind. Familiar, soothing, and now incredibly comforting. Someone was desperately trying to reach out to him, and Sonic did everything he could to grab him back. He opened his eyes and gasped.
{Sukko?} He called, and unable to reply, the presence jumped for joy, causing the Blue Blur to squealing in delight. Sonic scrambled to his feet. He heaved in absolute relief. His brother was alive. But where was he? Sonic asked down the Physic Link, but just got mumbled sounds in response. It was obvious that Sukko was stretching his abilities to the limit just to contact him, and even though they couldn't talk, both the twins quickly realised that they could send each other emotions as happiness erupted all round. The twins gave each other as close to a Physic hug as they could before moving on. They were alive and they had found each other. That was all that mattered. Sonic decided to let Sukko go. Wherever he was, it had be better then what Mobius had to offer, especially for a Sorcerer. The Blue Blur knew Sukko would immediately come home somehow, if he ever needed him. He, on the other hand, had a enormous clean up job to do, from the last of Eggman's Empire. He sighed, time to go find the others.
Sukko suddenly fell through the sky as he crashed on the ground with a bang. Landing heavily, extremely dizzy, before passing out. About a week later. He awakes in a bed he doesn't know, in what feels like a Palace. He frowned. What? He sits up, his head throbbing and immediately remembering what happened, he called out to his twin, across the Psychic Link, stretching his Chaos Sorcery as far as it will go. They find each other, but they can't talk. Frustrating, but Sukko would have to take it. His brother was alive and from what he could feel, relatively unharmed, so time to sort out his own predicament. He looked down at his own body, and apart from the headache, he to was unscathed, but as he immediately noticed, no longer in disguise. He was back in his royal Blue glory, with extremely long beautiful blue quills, but his long black coat was rather tattered and mangled. But it had just been wrapped around him, and then he'd be placed in this bed as is. He was still wearing his boots. Sukko frowned. He remembered landing and hard. But where and did the residents see him like this?
It seemed the lightning bolt that struck him, had sent him here, wherever here was, and had successfully knocked all of the Magic out of him before transporting him. He growled. He felt so stupid. He should have seen that coming, but years as a Doctor had left him severely out of practice on the battlefield. Could he got home? Potentially, yes, as he flexed both his Chaos Sorcery and Orbing abilities, which seemed to be returning to him. But did he want to? If his brother needed him to, then yes, but the fact that he and Sonic could no longer talk via the Psychic Link screamed to Sukko that he was no longer on Mobius anymore. That meant that he longer had to worry about his appearance. As he looked around, as curiosity got the better of him, especially at the shower, in the bathroom, ahead of him. He was covered head to toe in dirt, and it being extremely uncomfortable, he dived straight for it.
It felt so good. It had been a while since he'd a decent shower but he was still confused as to where he was. He was preening his quills, having washed them, and used a specialised quill comb, that lived in the inside pocket of his coat, to make them look immaculate. The combed them their full length, let them naturally gather into spines, similar to Echidna's dreadlocks, and took out another band, as he'd seemed to have lost the previous, again from the inside pocket, and tied them back. He cleaned off his brown leather boots and sneakily Magically repairing his long black coat. His room was completely closed off, with no camera. He was safe to do a little Magic. Regardless, by the time he had a knock at the door, he was absolutely pristine and ready to take on any challenges that headed his way.
He opened the door to be greeted by a maid with breakfast, and told that he would be escorted to see the Princess. Sukko smiled, and nodded as the maid left but he frowned. Escorted? Princess? No thank you. He seriously didn't like the sound of that one bit. To be taken immediately to the head of state of wherever he was, didn't sound good, and figured that they suspected something. Not in the mood, right now, he wolfed down breakfast, which he checked as safe first, not realising how hungry he was and promptly left to explore, immediately disappearing. Behind his Cloak of Invisibility. He wonders the Palace. It is beautiful, with a clean, simple but extremely elegant design. White walled, edged in dark turquoise and gold, the long corridors circles round and soon Sukko found a side door, just pass the kitchens.
He passed several staff, as he walked through, them completely ignoring him, and he Telepathically dived for their minds, without them noticing, to try and find further information as to where he was, expertly covering his tracks. Everyone was extremely happy in their jobs, and all had deep respect for their Princess. There were several mentions of an Empire but everyone was so busy and Sukko couldn't dig any further without being noticed. So he opened the side door and soon was outside and wondered along the a side street from the Palace to the town. The buildings of the town were very tall, and built in the traditional manner, with wood and thatched roofs. There was everything you'd would expect int the town. Residences, a church, well, several taverns and shops. All around him the locals were going about their morning business, a market in full swing, all appearing look like Mobians, but the scents and the species were different, several of which Sukko had never seen before. There were definitely no Humans.
Still having no idea where he was, he realised that his place is entirely peaceful. He deeply sighed. That made for such a relief, and a change from what he had left behind. No warlord or tyrant taking over this place. But petit crime was a problem, like everywhere, and two thieves run past him in the town. But before he could do anything, they are stopped to his completely and utter surprise by Chaos Sorcery.
The blinding flash of bright yellow light and more importantly, the feeling immediately told Sukko that was the case. He gulped, now somewhat frightened, and joined the crowd that now gathered. He gasped. There was a Wizard, a small and somewhat stout Skunk. Black and white with big blue eyes, short white hair, round ears and a long white muzzle. He wore plain brown leather whist coat, trousers, and brown leather shoes with grey soles. His long bushy tail had three large white stripes along it entire length. As a Wizard, he wore the traditional dress over the top of everything. He had his long, dark, deep purple robes, and long pointed hat with a staff, with his deep yellow shining crystal on the end, dispense with the thieves and return the stolen goods.
Sukko's jaw dropped absolutely gobsmacked, and for two main reasons. One, no one battered an eyelid at the Chaos Sorcery, which could only mean one thing, it was legal here and two, the Wizard was entirely dependent on incantation and the magical gemstone on the end of his staff to cast. Sukko frowned, he was no Sorcerer, that was for certain. No Magic in his veins. After the thieves are dealt with and the crowd disperses, Sukko thoughts turn to this Princess. Who was she?
Further Telepathic scans of the crowd gave further love and joy towards their Princess and ruler. Secretly and delicately expanding the Telepathy outwards behind his Cloak of Invisibility, he could see this land, this Empire, potentially covered the entire planet, but seemed to broken up into thousands of islands that were scattered throughout a vast ocean. The island of which he stood, appeared to part of loose 'mainland' of sorts, where the islands had clustered together, almost creating a larger landmass, all linked to each other by bridges. It was fascinating and now Sukko was deeply curious. A peaceful civilisation, and Chaos Sorcery legal, he was desperate to find out more. He smirked. Time to make himself found.
He returned to the castle, and to his room, the one of which he awoke in. Suddenly, the door burst opened and to whom Sukko could only assume was his escort to take to the Princess. He was out of breath, sweating and panting heavily. It was obvious that he'd been running all over the Palace looking for him. The Blue Hedgehog smirked.
'The King of Stealth won't be found that way.' He sniggered to himself, in his thoughts, but the Koala just stared at him, somewhat gobsmacked, as Sukko just stood there, his hands in the empty pockets of his long black coat on his back. The Koala was a grey-furred with large droopy ears. He had a white-furred muzzle and hands, and possesses a large black nose. He also had small, black, bead-like eyes. He wore a matching sky blue two piece uniform, consisting of a hat with a rim and a vest with a yellow collar and latches. He also wore brown shoes with grey soles. Sukko looked back at him and after a moment's paused, he cleared his throat, speaking for the first time since his arrival.
"Hi?" He questioned, only for his escort to finally snap out of his stare. He seemed to fumble over himself, somewhat embarrassed. He finally stood firmed, sticking out his chest importantly.
"Hello." He bellowed. "I'm Gardon, and I have been tasked to escort you to the Princess." He then stammered, as if his confidence broke halfway through the sentence, as Sukko walked forwards slightly. The Sorcerer could now feel fear on him. Was he scared on him? But as Sukko nodded and agreed, and the Koala leaves very quickly, forcing Sukko to almost run after him. He went through the Palace and out into a large and extremely lavish circular courtyard. Leading out from enormously large front doors, the courtyard seemed to designed in concentric circles, the inner circle had fine, yellow gravel, where the Princess herself was. Next was thick, highly tempered glass, allowing light through to the room below, then a ring of more yellow gravel, with potted miniature fur pine arranged around the centre, then a grassed area, leading the outer walls and stones railings. Opposite the main door, a set of stone steps was leading from the Palace to the roof walkway which, in turn, lead all the way down into the town, over a bridge. On this beautiful sunny day, Sukko finally found her.
The Princess was beautiful. She was lavender and violet-furred Cat with stunning golden eyes, a small black nose and a white-furred muzzle. She had triangular ears with peach coloured canals and a long tail with the end frayed and violet. Her fur is longer on each side of her head and sweeps slightly upwards. She had four plumes of hair with violet tips done up in a high ponytail with a red hair tie. She also had a red oval gem on her forehead, resembling a bindi. She wore a purple tailcoat with rose trim at the bottom, a gold collar, and white leggings, and wore white gloves with fluffy cuffs and rose, high-heeled shoes with grey soles, white stripes and fluffy cuffs, like her gloves.
She was looking throughly unimpressed she was being treated by her in-house Doctor and complaining heavily. Sukko smirked, as a professional Doctor, he recognised this. The higher up the social class, the more they complained and disliked medicine. But as Sukko stared at the Princess, he seemed to recognise her. Her look, her mannerisms, he'd seen this Cat before, but not here. On Mobius, side-by-side with his brother, on the battlefield during that final fight that lead to Eggman demise. Hence her injures, which were superficial. He had no idea if they won, but knowing his brother and how close to the end Eggman was, he suspecting it was probably yes, and that the Human was no more.
Gardon, his Koala escort, practically runs into the courtyard and hides behind the Princess herself. She turned round and finally sees Sukko. They both stared as the Sorcerer entered. A Royal Blue Hedgehog in his long black coat and the Princess immediately realised that he wasn't his twin, of whom she did know. Quite well, in fact. She growled and gritted her teeth.
"Guards!" She screamed, immediately shooing away her Doctor away and got to her feet, standing her ground, very defensively. With her eyes fixed on Sukko. But he backed off slightly, his eyes still trained on the Princess.
"I know you." He breathed, but suddenly he was surrounded by people. But before he could say anything else, his Chaos Sorcery suddenly surged, causing him to double over, grabbing his head, his eyes glowing bright blue. He looked up, something was triggering it, his powerful Telepathy or more specificity, someone. His old Telepathic alarm system to danger was still in full working order, even after years since he used it. His eyes were flung out towards a large, extremely tall oak tree on the very edge of the Palace grounds. Everything seemed to slow down, as Sukko saw something being fired from that tree and heading straight towards the Princess.
Just as the guards were about the pounce on him, Sukko got their first. Moving fast, but not as fast as his twin, but still having the same super high speed reflexes, he grabbed something just in front of Princess's nose, straight out of this air. She didn't even see it coming. Breathing heavily, both of them looked at each other and then down at the hand. Sukko opened it and there was a poison dart, which had been travelling approximately one hundred and forty miles per hour. She didn't even see it coming. Her jaw dropped as she took the poison dart from him.
Immediately, the Princess was grabbed by her guards, and quickly ushered inside, leaving Sukko completely alone on the circular courtyard. The locals had fled. Sukko whirled round and fixed his eyes back on the oak tree. His eyes glowing again as he used his Chaos Sorcery to zoom in, and immediately saw someone desperately try and climb down from the tree, holding a dart shooter and run away. Sukko growled with anger.
"Not today." He hissed and immediately he ran after him and down the stairs. Hitting the roof walkway, Sukko noticed a loose piece on masonry and he throws it long, hard and high, right at it shooter. Sukko's aim was incredibly accurate especially if he used his Chaos Sorcery as a guide, and therefore he never missed anything. The only person who could ever potentially beat him in marksmanship skill, was Shadow The Hedgehog. The rock sailed right cross the Palace grounds. Sukko smirked and turned his back on the oak tree, walking towards the Palace, knowing full well, it was on target. The rock landed on the shooter, square in the back as he ran away, grounding him, but not severely injuring him, and immediately he was arrested.
The Princess stared through the window at the incredible Blue Hedgehog. Along with all her staff, she was utter amazed, stunned, and thanks to him, unharmed. She heaved as she sent the poison dart to be taken to the lab for testing, and now knew she wanted to send something else. Upon seeing Sukko for the first time, she immediately thought imposter, hence her defence, but having witnessed Sukko's incredible skill, now she wasn't so sure. The power she felt on him, the incredible reflexes, it all screamed the Blue Blur, but not. She frowned. A relative? Looking at the Blue Hedgehog in the long black coat in her courtyard, he was cool and as calm as anything. He looked absolutely identical and yet was so different, waiting very patiently. She sighed, unsure what to believe.
The Blue Blur himself had visited her kingdom several times, and was known to many of the locals, including Gardon, hence Sukko sudden appearance shaking up everyone. His initial appearance had had him mistaken for his brother, hence they had just wrapped him up, as he was unconscious and took him to a bed. Now everyone knew that wasn't the case. Back in the courtyard, Sukko stopped. He didn't try and enter the Palace. The door were still closed and decided to relax as he looked back out across the grounds. He wanted to wait and see what would happen. This Telepathic scan of the area sensed a lot of fear. But he himself was confused, if this was a peaceful kingdom, then who would want the Princess dead? He gritted his teeth, angry, and turned around, just as the door was opened, as it was declared safe, as the Princess finally emerged.
They looked eye to eye as they finally acknowledged each other, as he finally tracked down in his memories who she was, as his brother had mentioned her several times in his stories. Sonic had only ever mentioned knowing one Princess, and she was both powerful and incredibly astute. So her immediately spotting that fact that Sukko wasn't his brother, shouldn't have been that surprising. He did remember the name Sonic gave her, but wasn't exactly sure that was correct until now, when he used his Telepathy to delicately read her mind and found yes, he was indeed correct.
The Princess didn't say a word either, as she walked all round the mighty Blue Hedgehog examining him closely, her staff still keeping their distance. She didn't fear him, and there was something about him, that screamed two things at her. One, that she was safe around him, and two, that he could be trusted. The look. It was so incredibly familiar, and again, it was the Blue Blur. But she heaved in frustration. This Hedgehog was not giving anything away. It was so incredibly difficult to read. Sonic was easy, but this Blue Hedgehog, not so much. She wanted answers and knew exactly where to get them.
So she stood directly behind him, admiring the extraordinary length of his quills. Regardless, the differences between this Blue Hedgehog, and the one she knew, felt environmental, only biology would speak the truth. So Blaze gently threaded one of Sukko's long quills up through the band at back of his head, and yanks it from his head, causing him to whirl round and hiss at her. That hurt. She smirked, calling one of her staff over, handing them the quill. It hit the floor in her hand. She hissed.
"Take this to the lab. I want it compared to Sonic The Hedgehog's on file. He is definitely related." She spat, indicating Sukko. "It's just I want to know how, as he had never mentioned family before." She demanded, her eyes still fixed on him.
Sukko just smiles and doesn't argue. Sonic was exactly right, this Princess was indeed good, and for the quill, she'd soon learn. But Sukko's thoughts were on more important things. He founded his arms, his voice somewhat cold, He hissed.
"Actually Princess, or should I say, Blaze!" He sniggered. "Shouldn't you be working out who is trying to kill you?" He added, to the Princess's utter astonishment. She gasped.
"How do you..." She asked, but she was immediately cut across by the Sorcerer. He heaved, his voice warming slightly.
"I said I knew you." He paused. "Well, of you." He added, only for Blaze to breath back at him.
"Sonic?" She whispered. Sukko nodded, but then they were immediately interrupted by someone running up the stairs towards the courtyard and the Palace, going straight for the Princess. It was the same Wizard that Sukko saw in the town earlier, now being closely followed by a young boy, a Wolf, who was literally carrying everything. Sukko could barely see him, he was buried under so much stuff. Books, bottles, feathers quills, everything. He went straight for the Princess and because Blaze subtly signalled she knew him, Sukko back away, allowing the Wizard to approach. He grabbed both her hands.
"Blaze. My Princess. I'm glad your safe. I heard there was an altercation at the Palace." He beamed, utterly relieved. Blaze heaved and smiled.
"Wizard Everglade." She announced, glancing over at Sukko, who raised an eyebrow. How did he know about that? The 'altercation' was incredibly subtle as no one saw the poison dart coming but Sukko. Blaze sighed. "I'm fine. There is no need to worry. The perpetrator was caught." She explained. But then the Wizard's eyes fell on Sukko. He heaved.
"I take it your the one we have to thank." He demanded, forcing Sukko to look straight at him. Sukko frowned. Again, how did he know? Was it an assumption or was there something more? Sukko's eyes drifted back to the boy at his tail, who was still struggling with all the items. There was something about him Sukko just couldn't shake. Regardless, Everglade noticed his unusually long quills for a Hedgehog. But Blaze cut across him, before Sukko had a chance to answer. She cleared her throat.
"Apologies, you haven't met my guest." She announced, bringing Sukko forwards. He smirked. Clever girl, this Princess was really good. The Wizard, completely none the wiser, through out his hand, which Sukko took. He smiled, introducing himself.
"Wizard Everglade." He beamed. Sukko gulped, unable to quite believe what he was hearing. Not only was Magic legal here, but studied and praised. But he couldn't break, he had to keep up the act. He heaved.
"Sukko The Hedgehog." He announced. He left off the 'Dr.' part. Right now, that was information they didn't need to know. Blaze raised an eyebrow. It was not the name she was expecting. It was rather unusual. They shook hands, but the Wizard didn't immediately let go. Sukko knew why. He was certain that the Wizard could feel the Chaos Sorcery in him, the question was, how much? He finally let go, somewhat frightened, but pulled himself together extremely quickly. He panted.
"Your from Mobius?" He asked. Sukko nodded. The Wizard heaved. "How are finding the Sol Empire?" He stammered. The Sorcerer smiled, looking around grinning. So that was what this place was called. His eyes met Blaze's. He hissed.
"Very interesting and welcoming." He smiled, of which Blaze acknowledged. But the Wizard seeing the Princess was well, he was now done. He growled.
"Come on, Arthur. We have to go." He spat, and lifting his hat to Braze, he leaves. But Arthur, toppled down the stairs from the courtyard to the main roof walkway, by being so heavily ladened, which seriously angered the Wizard. The young Wolf pup cried.
"Master Everglade, I'm sorry." He whimpered in fear, scrambling to his feet, just as he was about to he stuck and beaten by the Skunk, only for an extremely strong hand, on the end of a long black coat, of a royal Blue Hedgehog. Sukko growled deeply. No one saw him move. Not because of speed but of stealth. Invisibility plus incredibly silent movement meant no one saw him coming. Blaze was shocked. Sukko's eyes narrowed.
"Pick on someone your own size." He hissed. But the Sorcerer was very angry, on the verge of outright loosing his temper, for two reasons. One, he despised those who bully the underdog, especially children, and two, this Wizard had Magic, yes, but wasn't that powerful, not compared to his own. He should have known better. Sukko could match his twin brother one-on-one with Seven Chaos Emeralds. He was ruthlessly powerful, with an impressive array of skills. His incredible Magical casts included Force-Field Generation, Illusions, Invisibility, Telekinesis, Pyrokinesis, Telepathy, Conjuring and Healing. The Super-Flight was a separate Chaos Power entirely and the Orbing was from his White-lighter grandfather, a guardian angel sent down from the heavens. This made Sukko a White-lighter-Sorcerer Hybrid. More commonly known as a Halfbreed. The twins maternal grandfather was a White-lighter. A pure one. He came from the heavens to guide our maternal grandmother who was a Sorcerer, and they fell in love, stayed and had children, breaking all the rules. His brother had the Chaos Sorcery Teleport. But Sukko hardly ever used any of them. He was of the believe that it wasn't what powers you had that made you who you were, it was how you used them, that mattered.
Therefore, how could this Wizard have known about the poison dart incident barely ten minutes before, when he was clearly the other end of town, which was where Sukko last saw him? Unless he was involved somehow. There was no teleport in him. That cast wasn't possible with incantation alone. So there was no way the Wizard could have crossed town in time to have witness it. But no one saw it, that was the point. Regardless, it didn't answer, why attack the Princess?
Sukko growled, he'd had enough of this Skunk, not trusting him at all, and decided to scare him. Subtly show him the true meaning of Magic. Their eyes met, as Sukko's own iris' glowed blue and he sent a huge quantity of Chaos Sorcery to the hand grabbing the Skunk. A couple of seconds was all he took, for the Wizard to rip is hand from his grasp, and run for it, leaving the boy far behind, who immediately went chasing after him. Sukko was still fuming, his temper getting the better of him. He stood to one side, to calm down.
Blaze had watched, fascinated by the whole thing. She knew the Order of Elden were bullies but with Chaos Sorcery against her, she was backed into a corner. She had objected, but there was very little she could actually do. So seeing Wizard Everglade get put in his place by Sukko was very amusing, though now she was very intrigued on how he'd done it. Suddenly, there was a tap on her shoulder. She turned around, it was a scientist from the lab. She smiled, hoping for some information to enlighten her as to the truth of what was going on here. The scientist, a Dog, was panting, staring at Sukko still stood at the bottom of stairs.
"Your Highness, the results are in." He heaved. Blaze nodded. He continued. "The poison dart contained a super fast acting, highly deadly serum from the incredibly rare Akasha flower." He breathed. Blaze gulped, looking back at Sukko. He'd actually saved her but that wasn't the big news. "And as for him." He stammered, indicating Sukko. "The reason why he looks like Sonic The Hedgehog, is because he 'is' Sonic The Hedgehog. The DNA was a match." He gasped. Blaze gulped
"What!" She exclaimed. She was not expecting that at all. "But that's 'not' Sonic." She spat, pointing at Sukko, his back still to them, as they still stood in the centre of the courtyard. The scientist agreed, having met the Blue Blur himself. He nodded.
"Agreed." He gulped. "So we ran the test again, through our more sensitive equipment and finally, we found the I.T.M.'s." He beamed. But Blaze frowned.
"I.T.M.?" She asked. But the scientist jumped for joy. He giggled.
"Identical Twin Markers." He squealed. "The I.T.M.'s are the one hundred or so markers, out of trillions, in the DNA that can tell identical twins apart. They're brothers." He announced in pure delight. Blaze was gobsmacked. A brother, identical no less, and Sonic hadn't breathed a word. Blaze had heard of identical twins, but they never happened in the Sol Empire. Other realms and planets, yes and there were rare but never here. All twins born here, were fraternal, made from two embryos, whereas identical were made from one embryo, spiting into two, creating two exact copies. She'd never seen it before. Tails and Knuckles, his closest friends would never have kept to themselves Sukko's existence if they knew. She was beginning to that suspect no one did. Her jaw dropped.
"A brother?" She repeated, taking the paperwork from the scientist and examining it herself. It was all true. It did seem that Sukko's long quills were indeed environmental. She heaved. "But Sonic never said a word." She frowned. But the scientist just shrugged. But then Blaze went deep into thought. "I wonder what the twins are hiding?" She sighed. The scientist frowned.
"What do you mean, Your Highness?" He asked, politely. Blaze looked up, her frowned deepened.
"Identical twins born. One becomes the Hero of Mobius, world famous, the other, completely hidden away. Why?" She spat. But the scientist just giggled.
"Well, it's isn't due to a lack of power. I saw him." He smiled, indicating Sukko. "To scare Wizard Everglade right out of the Palace and he's one of the most powerful Wizards in the land. That takes guts, and strength." He repeated, almost in awe. Then Blaze goes absolutely white, gulping deeply.
"Magic?" She breathed, knowing the rules on Mobius regarding Chaos Sorcery and it's highly illegal status. The scientist just shrugged again.
"No idea." He said again, then heaved. "But Your Highness, he saved your life." He admitted, as they both looked back at Sukko. If true, then Magic would explain everything. Why Sukko was hidden away and the potential dire consequences for Sonic, if the truth came out. Chaos Sorcery carried the death penality if found out, for both of the twins. The Sorcerer and their families. But if it was true, Blaze vowed to protect them, both the twins. Sukko had saved her life. Sonic, more then once, during her visits to Mobius, it was the least she could do in return. But it still left the question. Who was trying to kill her?
Sukko stood there with his eyes closed, partially meditating in order to calm down. He had the same enormously fiery temper his brother was infamous for, and whereas Sonic had to seriously pushed to get him to snap, he had a much shorter fuse. In fact, it was super short, and he could have happily have outright lost it as that Wizard. But as he got back his cool, his mind turned to the boy, again.
He'd sensed Magic on the boy.
His eyes snapped open, immediately widened. That was it, he'd sensed Magic on the boy. There was none on the Wizard. He required incantations, rituals and ceremonies, with the use of relics to cast. He may have been extremely good at it, but there no Chaos Sorcery in his blood, like Sukko. But the boy, Arthur, he could feel the Chaos Sorcery in his veins. A fellow true Sorcerer. Sukko was gobsmacked. Another like him, born with the power? What? He couldn't believe it. He had never met another before, and truly believed there were none. Arthur wasn't trained yet, that was obvious, and Sukko was certain he could do a better job then the Wizard.
Sukko gulped. Had he put the boy in danger with his stupid scaring stunt? He suspected not. It was unlikely the Wizard had noticed the Chaos Sorcery in the boy. It was so incredibly subtle that only another Sorcerer could sense it. Plus he also suspecting that the boy was only a squire to the Wizard rather then actually being trained in Magic by him. That should make getting the boy off his hands relatively easy. Sukko had been so deep down in his thoughts, completely and utterly stunned by the revelation, that he wasn't paying any attention at all to the conversion going on behind him, and almost jumped out of his skin, when Blaze moved up beside him, and giggled.
"A penny for your thoughts." She smiled, causing Sukko to swear in response. He heaved and quickly calmed himself, facing her. He panted
"Sorry." He apologised. Blaze heaved, forgiving him.
"It's been one of those days. Brother of Sonic." She smirked. But Sukko lip curled, rolling his eyes.
"Ah. I see you've finally worked it out." He grinned, eyeing up the paperwork still in her hand. She too looked at it, but there was a more pressing matter on her mind. She took a deep breath.
"Do you have..." She was about to ask, but got immediately cut across by the Sorcerer. But she didn't hear his voice with her ears, she heard it in her mind. The Telepath diving straight for it. Sukko spat.
{Don't!} He pleaded. He'd very quickly realised out what was going on. Blaze was intelligent enough to work it out, and reading her mind, told Sukko exactly what she was going to say. But he was very frightened. He'd never spoken to anyone, other then Sonic, directly about his Magic before and he was terrified. Blaze gulped, realising she could both see and feel the fear on him. She stared, seeing that a lifetime of hiding the power on Mobius, had left him very wary. But this wasn't Mobius, it was the Sol Empire, her kingdom, and she made the rules. Rules where Chaos Sorcery was legal.
Sukko was turning this over in his mind, what he knew about Blaze from his brother's stories and there was nothing there to say she wasn't trustworthy. She was immensely clever, smart and incredibly open minded. She understood the twins deception was a necessity. They didn't have a choice. It was a matter of survival. If they were found out, they would both die. Time to give her the benefit of the doubt and return the favour for covering for him earlier. It was the least she deserved. Finally, feeling completely safe for the first time in his life to tell the truth, he nodded. He did indeed have Magic. Blaze gasped.
"But what of..." She asked again, only to be cut across for a second time with Sukko inside her mind. He smiled.
{Sonikku?} He smirked. {He is well aware of the dangers. He has been all his life. But the Chaos Sorcery he processes is much more subtle then mine and therefore much easier to hide. He can't wield it directly, like I can, except for one singular cast of Teleport. But it secretly enhances his other powers from beneath, the different Chaos Powers he has, such as Super-Speed and Chaos wield. He is the Hero of Mobius for a reason.} He added, incredibly proud. {But if it does fall apart and he is found out, he does have a place to run, he just doesn't know it yet. That is.} He added, bowing slightly to Blaze. {If you'll have us.} He asked, almost pleading.
Blaze thought. It was a lot of information, none of which she knew anything about. She'd never heard Sonic be called that before. Sonikku? But suspected it was his real full name, and he was not named after the sound barrier breaking as everyone thought. But the mere thought of Sonic being put to death for something the twins were clearly born with, especially after what the Blue Blur had done for Mobius, terrified her. It was very unfair. But she wasn't going to grant permanently residence to the twins in her kingdom for free though, that was going to have to be earned, especially after all the deception. She did indeed understand why they did it, but maybe they could have afforded a little more trust. Especially to people like Knuckles and Tails.
Should they have known? Potentially, but Blaze didn't really know. As for Sukko, she knew nothing. Within the last hour, she'd found out he was both the brother of the Hero of Mobius and a true born Sorcerer. A person whom hadn't been seen in her kingdom in a millennia. Who was he? What could he do? How powerful was he? As the identical twin of the Blue Blur, potentially very. She had no idea. Did she trust him? Looking at him, yes. The same heart was there, exactly like his twin. She saw it in his eyes and it truly meant that her and her kingdom were in no harm from him. But then she smiled, having had an idea.
"If you find out who is trying to kill me and why, though I believe there is much more then that going on here then that, then I will allow you and your brother to stay." She heaved. Sukko turned and stared. He completely and utterly believed he'd be turned down, thinking his asking was wishful, but he jumped for joy in her mind though his face registered not a single movement. Blaze giggled, she'd seen that joy before, on his twin, and now properly believed that they were brothers. He was panting.
{Sorry.} He admitted, still realising he was still inside her mind, then he heaved. {You have yourself a deal, Princess. Er. Blaze...} He stammered, his excitement getting to him. He bit his lip. She smiled.
"To you, it's Blaze." She corrected. Sukko bowed slightly again, now determined to make it work. She was taking a leap of faith with him, and it was purely because of her friendship with his twin, however, Sukko was extremely grateful. Time to prove himself on his own grounds.
