Chapter Three – Black Magic
Wizard Everglade ran and ran, even finding a horse but didn't stop until he reached his destination. Over the bridges between the cluster of islands, and to a largely mountainous region, some distance away from the Palace. It was covered in an extremely dense forest of pine trees. Nestled in close to the base of the highest mountain in the area was Elden Fortress, a large stone build, castle-like monstrosity, a citadel of large white stone, shimmering behind a pale yellow shield, to remove it from view from uninvited eyes. Build by the first Wizard of the Sol Empire, Elden.
Thousands of years ago, Sorcerers ruled the land. With an incredibly hard iron fist. People with the ability to cast Magic with nothing but their bare hands. Where the power of Magic itself lay within their veins, in the blood. Sorcerers were extremely powerful, maybe too powerful and a resistance formed across the Sol Empire. But corruption raged and all the Sorcerers were taken. Everyone across the Sol Empire, some of whom had never done before, as they constantly warred, worked together to over throw the Sorcerers and purge all of them, every last one.
All that remained were their relics. Items and artefacts created by the Sorcerers themselves to enhance their own abilities. Staffs, crystals, and rings and thus the Order of Elden was born. Processing no Magic themselves, the Wizards use these ancient artefacts to create the Magic seen today, with in-depth and complex ceremony and ritual. However, casting must be done delicately, as one wrong move and the drain from the cast could potentially kill. Still powerful but barely a hint of what a real Sorcerer could do.
But these were just stories, myths, told to the young boys in training in Elden, to keep them in line, as a real Sorcerer was the only thing that could truly destroy them. As far was Everglade was concerned, true sorcery didn't exist. But the Skunk was panicking, mumbling to himself.
"It can't be true. It can't be true." He stammered as he ran through the front doors of the Elden Fortress and straight for the Library. Arthur, his assistant, had been left behind, but caught up, and finally made it to the the door to find it slammed shut and voices talking inside. Everglade barged into the Library and pushed past many of his fellow Wizards, searching out a very specific book. His peers were very unimpressed. They scowled.
"Everglade!" One of them growled. A tall, mean looking Lizard, with Dark green, almost black scaled skin, a long snout, folk tongue and deep orange eyes. He wore long, deep maroon robes and pointed hand, and his tall staff was a old, jet black branch with very large crystal on the top. He was the Head of the Order of Elden. But the Skunk just ignored him, but the panic was still in his voice.
"Not now, Riverton." He spat. But the Lizard just stared. He never seen his comrade so scared. He grabbed the Skunk. He frowned.
"Everglade?" He heaved. "What happened?" He stammered, dreading to think. The Skunk sighed, deeply.
"True Sorcery." He admitted, to complete laughter of his fellow Wizards. Even the Lizard howled. He grinned, rolling his eyes.
"Everglade, there hasn't been a Sorcerer in the Sol Empire in more then in thousands years." He spat, but then rounded on the Skunk. "And there isn't one now, either." He growled. His fellow comrades agreed. "If there was one here, we would know." He exclaimed, indicating the powerful relics they used to cast. But Everglade wasn't convinced. He hissed.
"Your wrong, the Princess is alive." He spat, but Riverton just rolled his eyes. He heaved in frustration.
"Yes, we've heard. That Speedster friend of hers saved her. The Blue Hedgehog. His attire is different, so we checked his Chaos signature to those on records, and it's a match." He spat. "It's him, and he's harmless." He added. "We checked him out during his last visit, and there was no Magic present there at all. Just varying Chaos Powers. He is of no threat to us." He smirked. Everglade was dumbfounded. He jaw dropped.
"A match." He gasped. "But that's not possible." He heaved. He had only seen in passing the Blue Blur and was certain that Sukko wasn't him. But now he didn't know what to believe. Every person in the entire universe had an entirely unique Chaos signature, there were never any duplications. If the Chaos signature matched, that it had to be him. But Everglade still wasn't convinced. He growled.
"Well, he grabbed my hand, just as I was about to punish my idiotic squire, he sent a power through my like nothing I've ever felt before. It was pure Magic." He stammered. But Riverton thought for a moment, as he grabbed a nearby staff. He concentrated hard, closing his eyes, making the large crystal on the end glow a deep yellow. Then he opened them, themselves now glowing yellow, muttering a deep incantation, and swirling his free hand out ahead of him in a large circular motion. Within it, a clear picture formed, of the Princess walking through the her Palace, with the Sorcerer.
Her deep fascination of him, had lead Blaze to give the Blue Hedgehog a guided tour of her Palace herself. Something she didn't normally do for guests. He had saved her life, it was the least she could do. But as they talked, he showed more of his famous brother in him, and yet Sonic had said nothing. She knew why, but felt like the Blue Blur should have trusted his friends more. They were slowly walking around the castle, Sukko was just so relaxed, so reserved, that Blaze felt like she was talking more to Shadow then to Sonic, just without the darkness. Sukko had no hyperactivity, no impatience, and he was incredibly gentle, with a infectious smile and big green eyes. A heart of pure gold, just like his brother.
But Blaze saw his hugely mischievous side. His distinctive love of black heavily suggested a Goth underneath that coat, and boy, could he wolf down his tea, as he'd drank at least four times as much of it more then her, over afternoon drinks, in the courtyard. (Once it was deemed safe again.) Blaze showed him around the Palace. The offices of the minsters which largely ran Sol Empire for her, handling the bulk of the administration work, which surprised Sukko. He frowned.
"Your the Princess, don't you run your kingdom?" He asked, but Blaze just giggled.
"Yes, I do. But our kingdom is so peaceful and prosperous at the moment that all I have to do is review their paperwork. Leaving me free to go elsewhere." She smiled. But Sukko frowned.
"Oh really." He sniggered. "Like where?" He asked, genuinely curious. Blaze stopped and sighed.
"My kingdom is broken up into islands inhabiting a vast ocean. In the far north, a menace had been plaguing my land. Not to the extent that Eggman caused on Mobius, it's more of an annoyance then anything. The Guardians. Captain Whiskers and his robotic pirates that have been trying to steal precious relics and as the Imperial Princess, it's my job to stop them." She sighed. "To be honest, it's nothing I can't handle." She added. Blaze decided not to tell Sukko about the Sol Emeralds or the Jewelled Scepter
Blaze had just found out that Sukko had Magic, a true born Sorcerer, no less, to give him access or even knowledge of such powerful relics wasn't wise, but regardless, he didn't seemed interested. He didn't have her full trust yet, he hadn't earned it, but she did fear the Jewelled Scepter in his hands.
But Sukko just smirked. He easily believed the Princess could handle herself, but as they walked through the Palace, finally he relaxed, keen to learn more about the Sol Empire. Regardless, at that very moment, all was calm and well.
Suddenly Riverton concentrated is mighty cast on Sukko, performing a second incantation on him, through the image. But the Sorcerer instantly feels it. He whirls round. He sensed a huge surge in Chaos Sorcery directed straight at him. His experience told him that he was being spied on, and using Magic, it meant only one thing. The Order of Elden. He had suspected they would come, especially after he scared Wizard Everglade. If he now played his cards right, they wouldn't see the Chaos Sorcery in him through their incantation, as Sukko put up an extremely powerful block. He growled.
'I see you.' He hissed, in his thoughts. 'But can you see me?' He smirked. Heaving and panting slightly, desperately trying not to give anything away, he remains as calm as possible. Blaze too looked round.
"Is there a problem?" She asked, seeing and feeling nothing, but Sukko looked at her, showing no expression on his face.
"Sorry, Princess." He apologised, rather formally. "My mistake." He added, and held out an arm for the Blaze to take, her escort for the day. Together, they carry on walking through the Palace.
Suddenly, the entire Magical incantation breaks as Riverton was unable to maintain it any further, due to the intense, punishing drain. He buckled over, panting and heaving. The Magic vanished into thin air. But it didn't matter. All the Wizards there saw for themselves, the Blue Hedgehog was clean, and indeed the Speedster. The Lizard whirled round on Everglade and laughed again.
"It looks like the Speedster's powers have grown, but as we all saw, nothing. He has no Magic." He declared. "What he showed you wasn't Chaos Sorcery, but he does have other powers." He giggled. "Your a Wizard, grow a backbone. You scare too easily." He jibbed, as Everglade was laughed from the Library.
Arthur, who had been listening to the entire conversation by the door, ran for it, as it opened, and Everglade was thrown out. The Skunk was angry but now extremely confused, He definitely felt Chaos Sorcery on that Blue Hedgehog, and yet, as he saw for himself, there was no Magic on him. Was that even possible, or was he more powerful then anything he could imagined? He was frightened, but was certain, he was right about this. But now nobody believed him. He had to get back into the Library to find that book. He growled. He go back in the dead of night, when it was empty. He turned around and stormed off to his chambers to try and calm down. To cause more fuss, could get him kicked out of the Order. He have to research this on the quiet.
Arthur saw his Master go in the opposite direction to his hiding place, utterly relieved. The young Wolf didn't want to get caught by that grumpy Skunk. He gulped. He seen Sukko scare him, and didn't believe what he was seeing but there was something else. He's felt Magic on that Blue Hedgehog, and he knew what that felt like. When an incantation is cast, it can be felt. But when there none, there's nothing. You couldn't feel any Magic on any of the Wizards at all, unless they were casting. The Blue Hedgehog was different. He wasn't casting at the time, and yet the Magic was definitely there. Arthur was scared. What was going on? He looked down at his own hands. Elden Fortress had suddenly gotten very dangerous, and his instincts were telling him, completely out of the blue, to get out, now. But to where? He had no idea.
He thoughts turned to the Blue Hedgehog. Could he be trusted? Again, he had no idea, but right now, he'd take his chances with him and the Princess at the Palace then here. He turned around, gathered up as much courage as he could muster and ran for it.
Blaze and Sukko were still walking through the Palace, when the Blue Hedgehog suddenly stopped again. He expanded out his mind and heaved a sigh of relief. Blaze looked at him and smiled.
"Have they gone?" She whispered. She knew exactly who because Sukko had been telling her everything through his Telepathy. He nodded.
{Yes, Blaze, they've gone.} He replied, inside her mind. He had no idea if his block worked, only time would tell. The Princess was still stunned. She had felt and seen nothing, and yet Sukko's perception was on a completely different level. But she was less then impressed that the Order of Elden were using their Magic to spy on her, but in hindsight, it wasn't that surprising. She sighed.
"Do you think they will come back?" She hissed, under her breath. Sukko gritted her teeth and growled.
{This isn't the last we're seen of them. But what I don't understand is why they would want you dead. You give the Order as much space as you can.} He frowned. Blaze heaved, still not sure the Order of Elden were behind it. The band of Wizards had been nothing less then loyal to her and her family for centuries. She sighed.
"Are you sure it's them?" She asked, still uncertain. Sukko heaved,
{From what I've seen Princess, all the evidence points towards them. I think I have convinced them that I an not a Sorcerer but just my brother in new clothing.} He smirked. Blaze giggled. Sukko sniggered. {Don't know if it's worked but the ball in now in their court.} He added. Blaze nodded as they continued on walking. She smiled.
"Agreed." She nodded. She frowned. If it really was the Order of Elden after her, she knew it wouldn't be long before they showed themselves again. Finally, they made it to the dining room, where a long table had been laid out for two people, sat at either end, for dinner. A huge amount of delicious food, had been laid out for them, as Sukko realised he'd be dinning with the Princess tonight. He gulped. This was far more formal then he had anticipated, as saw Blaze take off her jacket, give it to the butler and settle down to eat. She immediately indicated to do the same, so Sukko mimicked her. Taking off his long black, he handed it to butler before settling down for dinner.
Blaze stared. It was incredible. Seeing Sukko without his coat on, for the first time, he did indeed identical to the Blue Blur. Standing there in his royal blue glory, he was the exact same height as Sonic but heavier and broader with much more visible muscles on his arms, legs, back and torso. There were differences but his colour patterning was the same. She giggled, as she noticed something.
"Nice dragon." She sniggered, behind a goblet of water, having only just glimpse it on his back for a second. She recognised it immediately. Sukko, still stood up, smiled, and fully turned around to show off his back in it's full glory, moving his long quills over his shoulder. The jet black tattoo was stunning. The head of the dragon was on his left shoulder, with the creature curving it's upper body and arms horizontally across his shoulders through his spine and back quills (which had to be removed when the tattoo was done, but they grew back), to it's wings spread out across his right shoulder. Then the dragon's lower body, and hind legs, curved right round until vertical, following Sukko's spine down his back. At his hips, dragon's body ended but then the creature's long tail, which swerved around all along his lower back, crossing over itself and ending at Sukko's own tail.
It was pristine, and the lines were still sharp. Back on Mobius, he'd regularly attend the tattoo studio to have maintenance work done on it. Sukko giggled. He knew exactly what Blaze was thinking, that it was put there by Magic. He sniggered. No.
"It's real, Princess." He giggled. Blaze was so stunned that she began coughing her water. She heaved.
"What?" She gasped. But Sukko just grinned.
"Thirty-five hours under the needle." He smirked, proud. He absolutely loved it, and it showed. Blaze, completely forgetting herself, got to her feet, and ran to Sukko's back to examine it for herself. She ran her fingers all over it, feeling the slightly raised edges of the tattoo on his skin. It was indeed real. Sukko smirked, feeling her touch on his back and going lightly red. He had never met someone as open as her. Her generosity and kindness beyond anything he had seen before, outside of his own brother, of whom he was intensely proud. She knew about his Magic and she just didn't care. That blew his brain and he was deeply honoured. Her people were loyal to her and he now understood why. Sukko also felt that same deep loyalty to Blaze and let it build.
Blaze shuddered. She knew exactly how painful it was to have fur tattooed. Even shaving it first, didn't really relieve the pain. She had her staff, though more specifically her royal guards, get a very small tattoo of her royal family seal on their wrists. Gardon had one. This was to make identifying imposters easier as they tended to impersonate her guards. They were all Koalas but that didn't stop intruders trying to get to her. She'd been caught out once, which nearly cost her dearly, but using the tattoo, which she now automatically checked on every guard as they enter. Using this method, she's never been caught off-guard again, and actually had successfully detained two imposers using the method, as the tattooing of her guards was not widely known.
When the tattoos where first done, she had gone with them to the studio, incredibly honoured that they were all so willing to do this for her, and distinctly remembered the pain they all went through. Sukko smirked, it was indeed painful getting the dragon done, but he was able to turn off much of the pain through meditation, so it wasn't actually that bad.
Blaze gasped at the level of detail of the dragon on Sukko's back, easily believing that there was thirty-five hours of work there. She leaved.
"Wow." She praised, but then she frowned. "Your crazy." She snapped. But Sukko just laughed, grinning inanely. He leaned backwards to whisper in her ear.
"Who am I related to?" He sniggered, of which Blaze herself laughed. Sonic was famously known across worlds and entire dimensions for the sheer craziness of what he could do. He was absolutely mad and Blaze could barely keep up, and used to regularly tell him so. Sukko now turned around to face her, as they both intensely giggled. She now realised that telling the difference between the twins was getting easier, the more she got to know Sukko. They really were total opposites.
Suddenly, Gardon burst in through the closed door of the dinning, forcing Sukko and Blaze to back away from each other slightly. But the Koala didn't notice. He was outright panicking.
"Apologies, Princess." He stammered, bowing. He straight ran for Blaze, grabbing her hands, only for her to turn one of his over, to reveal his guard's tattoo. She heaved, satisfied.
"Gardon, what is it?" She frowned. The Koala shook in absolute fright. He pulled at her. He cried.
"Please come quickly, to the town. There's a illness sweeping the land." He stammered. But Sukko walked forwards grabbing Gardon. He looked concerned and Blaze immediately noticed his tone of voice change. It had. The professional inside of him, had instantly kicked it. He growled.
"What kind of illness?" He demanded, but Gardon didn't answer. He's gone white and very silent as he stared at Sukko's right arm, which was still bare as he was not wearing his coat. A second smaller tattoo was presence, one that Blaze completely failed to notice. It was the serpent-entwined rod, Asclepius, the highest honour in Mobian medicine. But Asclepius wasn't just the symbol for medicine on Mobius, it was the symbol for medicine across entire worlds and dimensions, known everywhere, and Gardon immediately recognised it, his jaw dropping so hard it hit the floor. He gulped.
"Your a Doctor?" He gasped. Blaze whirled round to see for herself and was gobsmacked. She knew from her own in-house Doctor, the years of time, dedication and hard work what went into earning that tattoo, as he himself had one. Blaze stared at him. Sukko nodded. He still was a fully qualified Doctor, even if he had resigned from the hospital, and now he desperately wanted to help. Suddenly, more guards came behind Gardon.
Time to leave.
Sukko grabbed his coat, throwing it on his back, and Blaze, hers, as they left the dinning room and ran across the Palace, Sukko outpacing both of them. He wasn't Super-Speed fast, but the bloodline really showed. He was faster then the average. Through the Palace, and out of the front doors, across the courtyard, along the roof walkway, over the bridge and down into the town. Dusk was falling all around them.
They ran through the town to the main tavern. A traditional meeting place for the town's people for drinking, socialising and celebrating. Now, it was full to the rafters of people, lying everywhere, over chairs, tables and floors, all very sick indeed. All were severely weakened, heavily fatigued, and unable to move. Breathing was slow and many were drifting in and out of consciousness. All were surrounded by their families. It was the definite sign of a plague. Sukko, Blaze and Gardon ran in, to complete and utter horror, as they all just stared. Sukko himself had been through this town himself first thing this morning and there was nothing. Whatever this was, it had hit extremely quickly, within a matter of hours. Several doctors including the Princess's own, were racing between patients desperately trying to do all they could.
Sukko still just stared. The whole situation looked and felt wrong, as he then slide off his coat, and immediately set to work. He was stopped but Blaze intervened and his tattoo confirmed he was a Doctor. He examined one of the patients, a Weasel, looking pale and extremely ill, but Sukko frowned. He grabbed a stethoscope and looked further, his frown and confusion deepening. Blaze notice, trying to stay as calm as she could, in spite of Gardon's and many others outright panic. She walked over to Sukko, and knelt next to him.
"Any ideas?" She asked, almost desperate, but Sukko just looked at her. He gulped.
"This is one of the weirdest plagues I have ever seen in my life, and I've seen a lot of things, Princess." He heaved. Blaze just raised an eyebrow. Time for Sukko to finally explain himself. He sighed, looking around the room. "Despite having Chaos Sorcery, I was able to hide it, very well. I am the King of Stealth, just like my brother is the King of Speed. So I masqueraded the power as something else. A similar Chaos Power that was legal. Chaos Heal. With Sonic going off fighting Eggman, helping people, I too had the same drive to help, but I found my own path. I never expected to be accepted into Medical School, but I did and I excelled. No one questioning the source of my powers, and soon I was fully qualified, becoming a Emergency Medicine Physician, and finally the senior E.R. Doctor, who specialised in trauma at the hospital. We saw anything and everything come through our doors." He sniggered, but then he heaved. "But never anything like this." He added looked back down at the Weasel he was examining. He frowned, again. "It's so bizarre. He looks gravely ill, and yet there is no fever, muscle spasms or organ damage and no contagious pathogen. From the outside he looks awful, but on the inside, there's nothing wrong with him." He summated. Blaze frowned, that made no sense. Then suddenly Sukko called over one of his fellow doctors. He hollowed.
"Excuse me." He bellowed. "Has anyone died from this at all?" He asked, indicting the plague all around them, to the completely dumbfounded look of the Doctor. He frowned and looked round the room, realising that he only just worked this out himself now.
"No." He heaved, even more stunned. "There had been no casualties, and a plague..." He added, only to be immediately cut across by Sukko, hissing.
"Always takes casualties." He snapped, to the nodding agreement of the other Doctor. Blaze gulped, now frightened.
"Then if it's not a plague, then what it is?" She stammered. Sukko had been getting more and more angry as he was slowly beginning to work out what it could potentially be. It could just about feel it in between the fear and tension on the tavern. Now he to was scared, because it was causing serious harm, which was something he never did. He caused inconvenience, yes, but never actually harm. It was the only thing that made sense, though he'd never seen before. But the power was legal here, so almost anything was possible. Sukko looked up, going white.
"Magic!" He hissed under his breath, but accidentally loud enough to silence the entire tavern. Everyone looked at him, the King of Stealth extremely conscious and uncomfortable of that fact, and not liking it one bit. Blaze saw his fear, but pressed on. If Sukko wanted to practice his Magic here, he'd have to prove he was trustworthy with it. Plus, he'd only spoke of it, she'd hadn't witnessed anything yet and was very keen to. She gritted her teeth and stood firm, despite her own fear. Magic meant the Order of Elden, but why was they doing it? Why cause such harm? Right now, they had to fix this first. She growled, straight at Sukko.
"Can you stop it?" She demanded. It wasn't a request, it was an order, and Sukko, looking at her, was terrified. He'd never used his Chaos Sorcery before so openly, in front of a crowd before, and he was very frightened. He could stop it, Blaze saw it in his eyes, and she grabbed one of his hands and nodded, as though giving him permission to cast. Sukko caught on, and nodded, desperately trying to regain his composure. If he wanted true freedom here in the Sol Empire as a Sorcerer, then he had to show his true colours and prove himself to the people to gain acceptance. Right here and now, he had a chance to do just that.
Letting go of Blaze's hand, he looked down at the Weasel who, only barely conscious, was terrified. He looked rather sly, but Sukko ignored this as the Princess reassured him, nodding. Sukko looked around, the people really did hang on every word and gesture of the Princess. If, in that very moment, the Princess trusted the Sorcerer, then so did her people. He was honoured but be concentrated. Time to find out exactly what this plague was.
He placed his hands gently on the Weasel's chest, and allowed the Chaos Sorcery in his veins to take hold. His eyes glowed a deep blue and streams of bright blue hue of luminescent vapour appeared from beneath. There was murmurings of 'Sorcerer' from around the room, and there was fear but no one screamed. The blue streams of Magic then left Sukko's hands and entered the patient, which caused him to panic. He began to flinch. But Sukko growled.
"Hold still." He demanded. "I mean you no harm." He hissed. But then his growled. "There is something inside of you. I can feel it. Hang on." He fumed, gritting his teeth. Whatever it was, it was definitely Magical, and was being incredibly stubborn about releasing it's victim. Now even more frightened, the Weasel did as he was asked and Sukko concentrated, pushing the Chaos Sorcery harder. Finally he found the rogue Magic, grabbed it and pulled. Glowing even brighter and then suddenly, it finally and very reluctantly released it's hostage, ascending up and out of the Weasel's chest, over his side, and landing on the ground. Sukko fell backwards, swearing as what appeared to be to a snake, made entirely of thick black smoke, with deep, blood red eyes, exited the Weasel. It hit the floor, and desperately began slithering across it at great speed, towards the door and freedom. Sukko was gobsmacked, he'd never seen anything like it before and now people started to scream. The Weasel was now on his feet, completely well and now unharmed.
The snake was fast, but thankfully, not Blue Hedgehog fast, as Sukko lassoed it with a thin lines of bright blue hue of luminescent vapour. Pure Telekinesis. He instinctively throw the line right across the entire tavern, desperate for the creature to not get away. It wrapped around the tail of the snake, and Sukko grabbing it, pulled the line back towards him, having got to his feet. Then using a huge amount of strength from his gut, he formed a pale blue sphere, a Force Field of pure Telekinesis around the snake, lifting it clean of the ground, imprisoning it. Sukko's Magic stood firm, it was going nowhere.
Sukko was panting with the drain. Not because he couldn't handle the Magic but he was heavily out of practice with such high-level casting. He just stared at the snake, the sphere hovering a foot from his nose, being held there by streams of bright blue luminescent vaporous hue from his hands. Themselves strong and powerful. The snake was Magic but no Chaos Sorcery he'd ever seen before. It felt the same as any usual cast, but different at the same time. He heaved.
"What is this?" He asked, genuinely curious, but several people stared. Everyone was still reeling from the astonishment of what just happened. The fact that there was a real Sorcerer in their midst, and the appearance of the snake. No one more so then Blaze. She had taken what Sukko had been saying, with a pinch of salt, thinking he wasn't that powerful, if a Sorcerer at all. But now, not only was he powerful, but also he had been telling the truth. She looked at the snake. She knew what it was, though she'd never seen it actually cast before. She knew it from books. Though she was gobsmacked that Sukko didn't. She stared at him. Her jaw dropped.
"And you don't." She spat. "Your a Sorcerer." She exclaimed, but Sukko growled back, very defensively.
"Yes." He admitted. "And one whose Magic is entirely self-taught. Before I came here, I'd never met another Sorcerer or Wizard or anyone who could cast like I could. There were no books, schools or teachers. I was alone." He grilled. "So, please, humour me." He pleaded. The Princess heaved. Sukko wasn't entirely alone, he had his twin brother, Sonic, but power wise, yes he was, so some extent. She sighed and was about to answer when she got cut across but the Doctor, Sukko had spoken to earlier. He panicked.
"That's Black Magic." He cried, pointing to snake. There were more screams as people backed right away from it, but this just angered Sukko. He roared, causing yet more blue streams of Magic to explode out of him, causing the building to shake slightly, instantly getting him back the silence he needed. He was growled hard, under his breath. He heaved.
"Black Magic?" He questioned. "As in Chaos Sorcery mixed with Chaos Darkness?" He wondered, as he watched the snake now with some fascination as it attacked the sphere with everything it had, desperate to get out. He smirked, that wasn't going to happen, as Sukko began examining it, feeling the Black Magic intensely, his head cocking to the side, quickly learning how it worked and how it ticked. Blaze watched him, equally fascinated by the Sorcerer himself. She sighed.
"Yes. But Chaos Darkness is only accessible in the Sol Empire through Chaos Sorcery. Sol Energy is the main power here. Chaos Sorcery was brought here by Sorcerers, similar to yourself, thousands of years ago, from Mobius. They accidental landed here and because the Magic works here, they stayed. Their comrades back home getting slaughtered. Why it works is because all the different energies appear on all the worlds but in different quantities. Sol Energy is dominant here, whereas Chaos Energy is dominant back on Mobius. Chaos Sorcery is the only Chaos Power here in the Sol Empire, but even then, you are not born with it. It was earned through years of training and dedication." She explained, but then huffed. "But why?" She spat. "Why set Black Magic on my people?" She roared, frustrated, pacing around. But the fellow Doctor was more concerned about something else. He walked right up to the sphere, fascinated but scared. He looked at it, and then at Sukko, whose eyes were still glowing a vibrant blue. He gulped.
"Is it dangerous?" He stammered, pointing to the snake. Sukko smirked, having fully examined the snake and had learned everything he needed to know from it. He heaved.
"No." He declared, to relieved sighs all around the room. "Whomever casted this wanted to harm but didn't have the guts to kill. Most likely he may not have even had the power. I have seen Chaos Darkness in the form of a killer, and this is not it." He growled, only to be immediately cut across by Blaze as he looked up.
"Shadow!" She exclaimed. Sukko nodded. He smirked.
"Now that's was pure Chaos Darkness. I'll never forget the feeling. I never met him formally, but did several times masquerading as my brother. It was a thing we did early on in the war against Eggman, but it stopped when I became a Doctor." He grinned. "All these snakes can do, is make a person lame for a while. Nothing more. Remove the snake and they'll immediately return back to full health." He smiled, his eyes falling on the original Weasel he pulled the creature from. He looked relieved. But Blaze rounded on him. She hissed.
"Can you destroy it?" She spat, desperate for these 'things' to be gone from her kingdom. Sukko gulped, now panicking himself.
"What?" He stammered. "I've never fought Magic with Magic before. Remember, I was the last of my kind on Mobius." He exclaimed. But Blaze rounded on him, unimpressed. She growled.
"But you do know how to fight. Your the twin brother of Sonic The Hedgehog." She roared, but much gasping around the room. The Blue Blur was known in the Sol Empire. But Sukko had had enough, the drain from this extended cast was grating heavily against his temper, as he just lost it. His body began to emit a dark purple aura, as he throws everything he had at the cast. The blue sphere immediately implodes in a matter of seconds and the snake vaporises with a bang. Then with a flick of his wrists the Magic dissipated and his rounds on Blaze who immediately backs off, frightened.
"Princess, I taught him how to fight." He roared. Immediately he turned around and walked away, heaving heavily. Blaze stared. She had heard of Sonic's infamous temper but never witnessed it, but she now had on Sukko. She had also heard that it took a lot for Sonic to loose his temper and an extremely long time for him to calm down afterwards. But she watched Sukko intently and noticed the dark purple aura around him, had already vanished and he was calming down very quickly. Really quickly. With more of the tavern panicking, she held her hand up for calm and gets it. She cautiously approached Sukko, his back to her, his dragon tattoo in full view for everyone, though partially hidden by his tied back long blue quills that fell down his back, only for them to be sliced through by his much harder back quills. She gulped.
"Hi." She stammered. Sukko looked at her over his shoulder and sighed. He felt so guilty for loosing it with her. Time to make a mends.
"Hi." He replies, respectfully. He was almost back to normal. She smiled.
"That's one very short fuse you have there." She giggled. Sukko looked back at the wall. He heaved.
"I know." He admitted. "I'm sorry." He added. It wasn't something he was proud of. But Blaze smirked.
"But you destroyed the snake." She added. Sukko sighed again, looking back at her.
"I know." He heaved again, looking down at his hands. Sometimes his own powers amazed him, but now he suspected he knew what was coming. He too saw the suffering still in that room. Blaze grabbed him, making him jump slightly. Her eyes widened.
"Please." She begged. "The Black Magic, before it can do anymore damage." She asked. But Sukko sighed, looking away.
"It's a big ask, Princess." He admitted, but Blaze just huffed. She spat.
"You are more then capable." She argued, believing every word of it, especially after what she'd just seen. But Sukko smirked.
"No, Blaze. You misunderstand me. It's a big cast. To rid this land of the Black Magic can be done, I think I've worked it out, but it's a huge cast. Big enough to be immediately felt by the Order of Elden, and detecting a source of Magic that big, they will be here instantly, like vultures to a dead carcass." He shrugged. "I don't think they can Teleport but they will some method of fast movement. But considering they were the ones who did the Black Magic incantation in the first place, are you sure that's wise?" He asked, genuinely confused. This felt like very dangerous territory. But Blaze paced the room, all eyes were on her, as she weighed everything up. Suddenly, she rounded on Sukko. She growled.
"Do it." She spat. Sukko's eyes widened. He gulped.
"What?" He exclaimed. This wasn't the answer he was expecting at all. But Blaze shot him down. She smirked.
"No, do it, please." She asked, looking around tavern. "I have an idea."
