"Are you here to break me out?" Obi-Wan says to the blonde woman that is picking the lock on his cell.

"No, I thought I'd just take a walk through the Death Watch camp." Satine replies, rolling her eyes.

"No need to be sarcastic." Obi-Wan states.

"Well, what kind of question is that? The only reason I'm here is because of you." Satine says. "When I said to go and scout ahead for Death Watch, I did not mean to get captured by them."

"It's not like I asked to be captured, Satine." Obi-Wan counters. "Contrary to what others believe, I do not enjoy being held captive."

"Uhuh." Satine mumbles. "Any injuries I should worry about?"

"I think I dislocated my left shoulder in the fight and then my left wrist is also fractured, who knew a rod to my wrist would fracture it?" Satine looks at him and just shakes her head. "Did you retrieve my saber?"

"Yes, are you sure you can wield it?" Satine skeptically questions.

"Of course, that's why I have an extra arm!" Obi-Wan replies, waving his right arm at her.

"I'm pretty sure that's not why but I don't have time to argue with you at the moment." Satine says.

"Well then, I guess we agree to disagree." Obi-Wan replies and grabs his saber.

"There's the Duchess! She's breaking out the Jedi!" A Death Watch member shouts.

"I guess it's time we leave then, my dear." Obi-Wan states and they leave through the trees. Blaster bolts fill the air and Obi-Wan quickly alights his saber, shielding Satine and himself from the bolts.

A bolt gets past his saber and strikes him in the knee, he falls to the ground and gasps in pain. Satine looks behind her and sees her fallen lover, she rushes to him and quickly helps him get to his feet. He leans on her as he once again shields them from the bolts with his blaster.

"Did you bring a ship?" Obi-Wan inquires, as he struggles to remain upright.

"Yes, it's farther ahead, we're almost there." Satine reassures him. They make it to the ship, but more Death Watch members have regrouped, and they're outnumbered greatly. If they were both to board the ship, there would be no one to defend it, and the ship would blow up from the firing of the blasters.

"Satine, you need to get on the ship." Obi-Wan says.

"Not without you, I'm not going to leave you behind, Ben, you would die!" Satine protests.

"I'll be right behind you, I promise. Did you bring R4?" Obi-Wan inquires.

"Yes, he piloted the ship." Satine says.

"Okay, get on the ship. I'll be right behind you." Obi-Wan says, Satine looks at him then rushes to the ship, Obi-Wan stares after her and then looks at his bleeding abdomen, he just noticed he was shot there when he got shot in the knee. He's losing to much blood, and he knows he's slowly bleeding out.

He grabs his comm that Satine had handed him and comms R4. "R4, I need you to lock the ship once Satine gets on board and pilot the ship out of here, as fast as you can." Obi-Wan says and his voice shakes. R4 beeps sadly but understands the instructions.

Satine boards the ship and the hangar closes, he sees Satine turn around confused, her eyes lock on his and she understands what's going on, he can see hear her scream for him and sees her pound the closing door, the door closes, and the last sight of his Duchess vanishes.

"Ben, what did you do? What's going on?" He hears Satine asks, her voice breaking through his comm from R4.

"Someone has to defend the ship, Satine. I'm not going to make it; I got shot in the abdomen and it hit an artery." Obi-Wan explains.

"You can't do this! You promised me, you promised!" Satine exclaims. Tears leak down Obi-Wan's face as he turns around and ignites his saber, the Death Watch are now in front of him, firing their weapons at the ship, but not one bolt strays past him, if he's going to die, he's going to die defending his duchess.

He hears the ship start to take off behind him. A bolt strays and hits his already damaged knee and he groans.

"Ben, why are you doing this?!" Satine cries.

"Because, Satine, when you love someone, you protect them. And I love you, I couldn't bear life if you died." Obi-Wan strains.

"What about me? How am I going to feel now? I'm going to be empty without you, Ben." Satine sobs.

"I know, but your people need you. You're strong and brave, Satine. I know you'll be all right." Obi-Wan states, his voice breaking as he tries to bite back a sob. The ship starts to lift off the ground behind him and he knows he doesn't have much longer.

"You promised!" Satine cries.

"I know, Satine. I'm sorry." Obi-Wan whispers. "But before I go, I need you to know I love you, and if I could start all over again, I would have wanted to spend all my life with you. You're the most important person in my life, and you'll always be a part of me."

"I love you too. I love you so much, and you will always have a piece of my heart." Satine weeps. A blaster bolt hits his right hand, and he drops his saber, he falls to his knees and looks up at the sky where he sees Satine peering down at him as the ship starts to take off.

He smiles sadly at her being his last image, he hears a heartbreaking scream in the background, but he can't bring himself to listen, now he's finally at peace knowing that Satine will make it out alive. He suddenly feels excruciating pain and then knows no more.
