Chapter Eight – The Jewelled Scepter
The Sorcerer was in a very bad way. He'd completely underestimated how much power would be required to cast on Avalon, the island Magically fighting back and extremely hard, and especially against his Rain of Fire and now his Magic stores were spent. He'd been pushed beyond his absolute limit, and it was him collapsing, falling from the sky to the ground below, that finally ended the cast. He was drifting in and out of consciousness, desperate to stay awake. If he fell asleep now, he never wake up again as the corrupted Order of Elden would just kill him where he lay.
He knew he had to move. He was Everglade's and Blaze's only means of getting off the island. He was about to, when he was violently kicked in the back, which sent him flying across the ground. Growling and still on the floor, he turned to face his attacker. The Lizard howled with laughter at Sukko's pain, through his deep blood red eyes. He then growled at him.
"So your the Sorcerer whose been plaguing these lands." He spat. "Everglade suspected it was you, but we just mistook you for your brother." He hissed. "Oh, your good, Hedgehog, really good, and will be a fine addition to our ranks. The Order of Elden will have you, Sorcerer." He leered. But Sukko just smirked, not fazed at all by the Wizard, for only to have Riverton kick him again. The searing pain severely angered Sukko, as his deep purple aura began to swirl all around him. In fact, he grabbed for that anger as he was now running on nothing but fumes, as it was giving him to strength to move and fight back. But Riverton just growled again. "You've destroyed the Fountain on Knowledge!" He gasped, completely disbelieving. Riverton's dreams of ruling the Sol Empire gone. Suddenly he rounded on Sukko. "How?" He demanded, somewhat desperate, of which the Sorcerer smiled, as he let his anger consume him completely. He sniggered.
"In your dreams." He hissed, extremely coldly. But Riverton's just roared in pure anger, grabbing Sukko by the throat and forcing him to his feet. He growled, his deep red eyes glowing.
"If I can't have the Sol Empire, then I'll have you." He hissed, and then thrusted the deep crimson crystal of his staff deep into Sukko chest, causing the Sorcerer to scream. Suddenly, the highly-corrupted Magic began to flow from the staff, deep into Sukko's mind, body and soul, the pain excruciating. He screamed, as the corruption desperately tried to take hold, forcing the Sorcerer to loose himself and permanently succumb to the incredible power. He gritted his teeth, desperately fighting with everything he had. The Magic within him was getting stronger, but his mind and soul were fading fast. Suddenly, two corrupted Wizards suddenly grabbed him on either side and joined in the fray, pushing Sukko to his limit. Suddenly, the Sorcerer collapsed to his knees, at the feet of the Order of Elden.
It was done.
Everglade and Blaze were trapped, fighting back-to-back with the ocean one side of them and the beach of the other, giving everything they had. They were surrounded by corrupted Wizards. Magic flying everywhere, but somehow, up to this point they had largely managed to keep them at bay. Suddenly, Riverton entered the arena and the fighting immediately stopped, all of his fellow Wizards backing away, bowing. The Lizard just roared in laughter at the Blaze and Everglade at their somewhat fabled attempt of escape. He snarled.
"Princess, did you honestly think that you were going to get off this island alive." He hissed, but Blaze still surrounded by flames just growled.
"You don't scare me, Riverton." She snapped, Everglade also standing his ground. She snarled. "We can take you on." She leered, defiantly. But Riverton just laughed, he smirked.
"Princess, I'm the least of your problems. May I introduce the latest member of the Order of Elden." He grinned, evilly, to finally move aside, revealing now, his more precious asset.
He stood there, strong and unmoving, his long black coat, gentle flapping in the sea breeze. But the Hedgehog was no longer royal blue, but had a deep purple aura, now surrounded his entire body. His eyes, a deep crimson red, were fixed on the intruders, his teeth gritted, a permanent growl on his face. He obediently walked up to beside Riverton, who beamed as his newest creation. He looked back at the Princess, with a look of pure evil joy as finally he was to be rid of that annoying Cat. He hissed at the Hedgehog.
"Kill her." He ordered, as the mighty Sorcerer immediately bore down on her. Blaze absolutely panicked, as Everglade desperately tried to protect her. She screamed.
"No." She panicked. It was her and Everglade'd worst nightmare as they cowered in front of the mighty Sorcerer. They'd got to him, as he'd finally fallen from grace. Corruption. Her eyes streamed with tears. She sniffed. "Sukko." She stammered. "Please, I beg you, don't do this." She gulped, as he was straight on top of them. Everglade ran in, in front of her, defending her with everything he had, but Sukko just expertly karate kicked him to the floor, where the Wizard stays, the Hedgehog still having an emotionless look on his face, the deep red eyes glowing, the corruption now in full control. But Blaze frowned. From what she learned, corruption was desperate for power, using as much of it was possible. So why kick Everglade and not just cast? Something else was going here, but before she could react, Sukko had caught her. With super high speed reflexes that his family was famous for, the Sorcerer grabbed Blaze by the throat, before she had a chance to run and lifts her clean off the ground.
She grabbed his hand, gasping for air, determined to get loose. She looked deep into his red eyes, desperate for anything to tell her that her friend was still in there. But like always, the Sorcerer's emotionless look gave absolutely nothing away. There was stalemate as the two of them looked at each other. But the Riverton got impatient. He sneered.
"I said kill her." He spat, but suddenly Sukko's growl deepened, and he suddenly turned to face the Lizard. He smirked.
"Actually, I have a better idea." He snarled, ice cold and the Blaze suddenly noticed the grip around the throat began to ease, allowing her to breath properly. Sukko then exposed his wrist, of which Blaze immediately noticed. A small brand new genuine tattoo with slightly raised edges, surrounded by bright red skin. Her family royal Seal. Blaze's eyes widened as he looked up at the Sorcerer, him now smiling at her. Sukko was indeed still in there. Suddenly, she felt him inside her mind, heavily panting.
{Sorry, I couldn't resist.} He giggled. {You know I'm a sucker for tattoos.} He added, to the pure relieved smile of Blase, her now grinning inanely, but suddenly he roared hard, fighting the corruption hard from within and the deep purple aura surrounded the Sorcerer began to slowly vanish, to be replaced by the now very familiar bright blue luminescent vapour-like hue of his Magic. His eyes also began to change, gently turning from a deep red, through purple, and back to glowing bright blue. Blaze stared, when suddenly, she felt it, someone deep within the bowels of Sukko's Magic, desperately fighting with absolutely everything he had, straight down the Psychic Link, to save his twin brother. Even across dimensions. He'd known and immediately came running and finally, he succeeded. Her jaw dropped.
"Sonic?" She stammered, of which Sukko nodded, as he suddenly let her go, buckling to his knees, forcing the Order of Elden to back away. Riverton growled with confusion, pointing his staff at the Sorcerer, as he immediately scrambled to his feet. Sukko grabbed Everglade off the ground, and also grabbing Blaze, pulled them both behind him. Neither of them objected, delighted that Sukko was back. Riverton hissed in disbelieve.
"How?" He spat, but Sukko just grinned.
"You forget, Lizard. There's two of me." He smirked. Indeed, twin Sorcerers were significantly more powerful then three Wizards, even if Sonic's Chaos Sorcery didn't really show itself, but it was still present in his veins. Sukko couldn't have done it alone. The Hero of Mobius had his back, and has given every ounce of Chaos Power he could. But now the Sorcerer was deeply worried, as Sonic was seriously waning and began vanishing in and out of the Psychic Link. But Sukko was out of options, and the Chaos Power between the twins began to crash, now completely and utterly spent. He couldn't fight any longer. Time for a tactical retreat and get off the island. He couldn't just Orb. There far to much interference from the embedded Magic of Avalon. But he had another method. But with no little energy left in the tank, he had no idea had far he'd get, but he was significantly better then staying here. He grabbed Blaze and Everglade and pulled them in close, and taking full advantage of the lull of the shock of him breaking free of the corruption and before anyone could stop him, he took to the air.
He knelt on the floor, palms down, allowing for large quantities of Chaos to build up his hands and feet. Sukko didn't hold back as the bright blue luminescent vapour-like hue of Chaos Sorcery began to swirl all around him like a tornado of wind, forcing everyone to stand back. Engaging his muscles, as his Super-Flight kicked in, he waited for the wind to reach its peak, his bright blue eyes glowing strong. He combined the two Chaos Powers and took off, grabbing Blaze and Everglade in the process, into the sky, with an enormous roar, a shockwave behind him, and breaking the Sound Barrier as he went. The vapour cone appeared all around him. The visible cloud of condensed water that forms around an object moving at high speed through moist air. The resulting Sonic Boom was far louder then anything Sonic ever did on the ground, and took the corrupted Order of Elden by storm was within seconds Sukko was gone.
The Sorcerer was delight to finally free from that island, but it was still pitch dark, he had no idea where was going. Everglade screamed as the sheer speed, but Blaze's mind was blown, it was indeed fast. It wasn't Sonic The Hedgehog fast, but still, the ever illusive brother had given no impression, yet again, that he could do this. She, herself, could fly, but not this fast, but quickly felt Sukko's power waning as he began to drift in and out of conscious. They began to plummet towards the ocean as Blaze desperately tried to take control, looking around through the darkness for anything familiar. Most of the islands surrounded them were in complete darkness, until she finally saw a boat. A large ornate sailboat / paddleboat. Gold and blue in colour, with a large white sail out the back. A heavily armed navy vessel, this watercraft can not only can travel much longer distances then any other vessel, but also packed enough firepower to take on even the strongest of Captain Whisker's pirate ships. The boat was lit up with lamps as the Captain was spending this warm night out in deck, having failed to get to sleep.
Thankfully and extremely relived, it was a Captain, that Blaze knew very well, and more importantly, trusted. Still plummeting towards the ocean, Blaze steered the three of them straight towards the ship, only to crash land aboard, to the complete shock of the Captain, who hadn't seen them coming. They hit the metallic deck hard, skidding to a halt at the opposite end of the ship. Through the darkness, the Captain was shocked at the suddenly arrival of three intruders, and then worried that they were hurt. Suddenly, she recognised one of them, immediately bowing, running to her side. She heaved.
"Your Highness." She gulped, looking up and then back at Blaze. "Ahoy." She smiled. "Are you alright?" She asked. Blaze looked herself over. Surprisingly, she was. A few cuts and bruises, and that was it. She was amazed. She gasped looking at the Captain. Suddenly, she heard groans a few feet away. Both the Princess and Captain ran over. The Skunk is on very dizzy. Blaze heaved.
"Everglade." She smiled. "Your alright?" She grinned. Everglade sat and again, nodded, somewhat amazed, only to be narrowly eyed up by the Captain, deeply untrusting, causing the Skunk to back off. Blaze growled.
"Marine." She hissed. "Don't. He's a friend." She announced, of which she immediately backed off. She was a Raccoon with orange fur, a white muzzle, a small back nose, and sky blue eyes with one long eyelash on each one. She had brown triangular ears with cream canals, brown rings around her rounded tail, and brown and cream-stripe markings around her eyes. On her head she has two upturned pigtails with brown tips that are held together by yellow scrunchies. Her attire consists of a lime green tube top with a white trim, short black leggings, tan gloves, white socks, and lime green and orange shoes with grey soles. The three of the looked at each, grateful to be alright. But then Marine looked up the clear night sky. She frowned.
"Where did you guys come from?" She wondered, and looked down and all around. "That was one nasty crash." She added. But then suddenly Blaze squealed. Yes, it was and the reason she and Everglade were alright was that Sukko had flipped over at the absolute last minute, hitting the deck first on his back, causing the both of them to land on top of him. He was still at the other end of the ship, in an area of deep darkness, in his long black coat, almost invisible. Blaze and Everglade look at each other and the Princess squealed.
"Sukko!" She screamed, and ran to the other end of the ship, Everglade immediately following. But the Raccoon frowned.
"Who?" She asked, but Blaze just rounded on her. She panicked.
"Marine, get the lamp." She ordered, of which the Raccoon obeyed and ran over holding up the light. The Blue Hedgehog had hit the deck extremely hard, and was badly bleeding. He was lying on his side, his long black coat in tatters, his long blue quills, still tied back, spread out behind him. He was completely unmoving, eyes closed, calm and still.
The mighty Sorcerer was down.
Marine gasped in horror, immediately recognising the Blue Hedgehog, though the quill length completely threw her. She frowned, confused.
"Wait, isn't that..." She asked, only to be immediately cut across by Blaze herself. She gulped.
"Sonic The Hedgehog." She spat. "No. It's Sukko, his twin brother." She heaved. Marine's jaw dropped, her, like everyone else, having no idea. She gasped.
"What!" She squealed. But Blaze wasn't impressed. She growled.
"Marine, not now." She spat, finally getting quiet from the Raccoon. Blaze was desperately examining the Sorcerer. She panicked. "Come on, Sukko." She pleaded, hoping for a response. She rolled over onto his back, still nothing. But she wasn't giving up. This Blue Hedgehog had sacrificed far to much for her. She growled. "Come on." She demanded, now shaking the Hedgehog by the collar of his coat. She cried, almost in tears, with one last desperate attempt to wake him up. She growled.
"SUKKO!" She screamed.
Suddenly, the Blue Hedgehog sparked into life, as he finally started breathing again. He painfully turned his head to face Blaze, opening the tiniest of cracks in his eyes, his iris' glowing bright blue underneath. Suddenly, bright blue luminescent vapour-like hue surrounded the Hedgehog, to Blaze's delight, but to Marine's absolute horror. The Princess calmed her. She smiled.
"Marine. It's alright. He's a Sorcerer." She smirked, to the disbelieving Raccoon, but then Hedgehog's Magic began immediately to fade away. Blaze rounded on him. "No, no. Sukko, come on." She pleaded, as the Sorcerer closed his eyes again, as yet more blood began appearing on the deck of the ship, but he was still breathing, just. Everglade grabbed her. He growled.
"Princess." He snapped. "He's in a seriously bad way. He's in desperate need of healing." He informed, only for the Princess to round on him. She gulped.
"Can you..." She pleaded, but Everglade quickly cut across her. He shook his head, sniffing.
"No, I can't. Healing is impossible to cast using incantations and enchantments. I have tried many times and failed. It is a skill only for the true Sorcerer." He sighed. "He is a Doctor, after all." He added, indicating the Blue Hedgehog, then he cried. "It's far more Magic then I process." He admitted, as the tears ran down his face. They suddenly Blaze's eyes widened. She gasped.
"That's what he needs." She squealed, indicating Sukko. "Magic." She smiled. But Everglade frowned.
"Princess, what to you mean?" He asked. But Blaze just grinned, then gulped, realising that the Order of Elden were soon going to be on their tail again, and she needed the mighty Sorcerer back, as soon as possible. She couldn't win this without him. Sukko, however, by flying, had bought them some time. She heaved, looking at her comrades. She heaved.
"The Jewelled Scepter" She sighed. But Marine gasped, and Everglade grabbed her. He gulped.
"Princess. Are you sure that's wise? No Wizard in the entire history of the Sol Empire had ever successfully wielded the Jewelled Scepter. It's far to powerful." He spat, but Blaze just through the Skunk off of her. She growled.
"But Sukko's not a Wizard." She hissed, pointing at him. "And if he's down, seriously injured here, then I suspect Sonic's also down back on Mobius. They are deeply psychically connected and they worked together to fight off that corruption." She sniffed, deeply worried. "Sukko told me that, as a Sorcerer, he can't wield Power Stones, such as the Chaos Emeralds or the Sol Emeralds. They don't work for him. But the Jewelled Scepter, is a ancient Magical relic, forged long before the first Sorcerers ever arrived here and responds to Chaos Sorcery and that might just give him the strength he needs to heal himself and his brother. It's their only chance." She heaved. Blaze normally wouldn't have allowed this. She would have done anything but. It was an enormous risk but the twins were going to potentially die on her if she didn't, and right now, she was just not willing to let the Sorcerer go. She needed him, now more then ever, the entire Sol Empire was at stake.
The Order of Elden could still destroy everything, their Magic extremely strong and powerful, even without their Fountain of Knowledge. She just couldn't fight them alone. She could have defeated three or maybe four corrupted Wizards but there were significantly more in number, able to group cast. Even as Burning Blaze, when she harnessed the power of all seven Sol Emerald, it just wasn't enough to defeat the all of the Order of Elden. There just to many of them. She just didn't have that level of stamina. She burned out relatively quickly, unlike the Blue Blur, who was famous for his unlimited stamina. He could defeat them, but he wasn't here, and leaving the Sol Empire to go and collect him wasn't an option either. The Sol Emerald's dimension travel ability, the Fire Tornado, only allowed for one passenger at a time. She could go to Mobius and send him back to the Sol Empire alone, and then follow afterwards. It was to dangerous for her to leave her people, even for that short time, the Sol Empire undefended, plus Sonic didn't have the seven Chaos Emeralds, which he would have desperately needed. Bringing those powerful gemstones here where they didn't belong, would have severely disrupted the balance of power, which could cause more harm then good. Potentially ripping holes in the very universe. Blaze gulped, she couldn't risk it, which meant that she had to work with what she had. The powerful Sorcerer lying in front of her.
She sighed as she held his head in her arms. Just how powerful was he? She gulped. She truthfully had no idea, but the fact that the he, along with the help of his twin, had successful fought off corruption, which had never been done before in the entire history of Magic, was incredible. He could be hugely powerful. Potentially the strongest Sorcerer in the entire universe. It was astounding, and now she believed, looking again at his new tattoo on his wrist, a small smile on her face, and an eye roll, that his faith and ultimately, his trust were now well and truly with her. He'd never betray her. He didn't. Not even at the height of corruption. She was deeply honoured, and she knew that they could potentially win this, if they got the Jewelled Scepter to Sukko in time. But as his breathing stagnated, they didn't have long.
Both Marine and Everglade looked at each other, and immediately agreed. Upon hearing that Sonic might be in danger as well as his twin, instantly changed everything. The Blue Blur was that well known. Blaze rounded on Marine.
"Captain. Please take us to Coral Reef Island."
Thankfully, Marine's boat, the Ocean Tornado wasn't far from the island in question. Sukko with his Super-Flight has travelled so far across the ocean, that they were out of harms way for now. But as Marine checked the sea charts and set the ship to the right direction, suddenly Blaze noticed large electrical black clouds begin moving very fast across the skies, in the distance told her that time was against them. The Order of Elden were Airborne, out looking for them, seeking revenge, and now she fear her people's safety, unknowing now many towns and villages they'd rip up, in search for them. Even Marine noticed, panicking somewhat, pushing the ship to full speed. Soon, the boat swayed heavily as it entered the extremely rough and rocky waters that surrounded Coral Reef Island. Thankfully, the boat was strong enough to take them, but it was one of the reasons why this island was chosen for house the Sol Empire's more precious relic. Suddenly, they were intervened by patrols ships, either side as they approached the island, everyone surprised to see the Princess, in the middle of the ocean at this late hour.
Immediately, the Blaze flies over and boards one of the patrol ships, explaining the situation. Frightened and confusion, they don't understand but trust their Princess regardless. Soon, the Ocean Tornado is escorted to the island, landing, where the Princess is met with yet more Koalas, all bearing the royal family Seal. She heaved, as Sukko was surrounded and carried off the boat and into the island, followed closely by several guards and Everglade. But Marine intervened only to immediately shut down by the Princess. She growled.
"No." She spat. "Take the Ocean Tornado and leave. It's not safe here. The whole of the Order of Elden has been corrupted and they will be soon on their way here. They will instantly destroy you and your boat." She hissed, of which the Raccoon squealed in fright. But the Princess was adamant. "Go!" She yelled, of which the Marine finally agreed, and ran onto her boat, started the engines and backed it away from the island and then pushing throttle up to full speed, very quickly, she was gone, waving off her friends, but in tears. She was seriously worried if she would ever see them again.
They ran across the island, as further guards stood aside to left them through. Into a large cavernous, beautifully carved out cave, straight out of a mountain side. A stunning turquoise in colour with the wavy tree trunks of plants growing through it, from floor to ceiling and a narrow, curvy, deep purple path, with smaller plants scattered throughout, with bottomless drops either sides, that they hurried along. Finally, they made to the Shrine of the Jewelled Scepter, a highly ornate turquoise circular room, with decorated window-life reliefs around the edge, and a beautifully engraved floors. In the centre, was a small altar, of which the mighty relic happily hovered, resting peacefully.
The Jewelled Scepter was an very large ornate device that resembles a Shepard's hook, twice the height of Blaze herself. It possesses a straight and black rod with a spherical grey and yellow orb on both ends, a sharp purple pommel on its bottom sphere, and a purple hook on the other end whose outer side has a blue, yellow, green and violet gem embedded in it. Also, on the inside of the hook, right above the rod's end, is a light blue diamond cut gem. The Jewelled Scepter holds power over the geological activity of the Sol Empire, allowing it to increase the planet's volcanic activity, trigger earthquakes, and sink raging volcanoes. However, its more prominent power is its ability to unlock and harness the Power of the Stars, the force that ensures the existence of parallel universes, from an underground altar in Deep Core underneath Southern Island. Normal it resided in a shine, a heavily guarded chamber on Coral Reef Island.
When wielded in combat, the Jewelled Scepter can perform various Magic-based attacks. Chaos Sorcery. These include projecting fire orbs of varying intensity, conjuring up explosive dragon-based homing projectiles made of fire, generate electrical balls that can turn into beams with enough strength to paralyse even a Super State user, and summon meteors. Its ultimate attack however, is its "Planet-Buster Laser", a large energy blast which can destroy a whole planet. Blaze gulped.
Using the Jewelled Scepter was dangerous. She had no idea what it would do to Sukko, of if he could even handle it. Normally, the Order of Elden never bothered with it. It was just far to powerful for any of them to wield, even as a group, so they just weren't interested. But that was before, the Order of Elden was now completely corrupted. Having failed in generating a world ending power they could wield, the Fountain of Knowledge, now they could potentially now go after a world ending power, they couldn't. Corruption desires power, and now the Order of Elden were desperate enough. Could they corrupt the Jewelled Scepter, potentially yes, but Magic was only a small part of what the Scepter could do. That's what made it so difficult to wield, as though it had a mind of its own. Eggman had tried and even Captain Whisker's. Both of them failing to truly Master the Jewelled Scepter's power of the stars, forcing Blaze to intervene and rescue them. If the Jewelled Scepter was corrupted, it would just destroy everything, the Order of Elden included, which for them, would be extremely counter-productive.
It had no guardian. It didn't need one. It was just too strong. No one, in the entire history of the Sol Empire had ever truly been able to wield the mighty and extremely wild Scepter safely. Blaze couldn't do it. She was the guardian of the Sol Emeralds, and that was enough for one person.
But using the Scepter would immediately advertise the fact they there were here, the intense use of Magic bringing the Order of Elden straight to them. Blaze ordered the guards to brace themselves for a fight, as they laid Sukko next to the altar, on his back. They all watched with baited breath. But nothing happened. Blaze was about to intervene, but Everglade stopped her. He heaved.
"May I?" He asked, politely, to the intense nodding of the Princess. The Sorcerer was fading fast. Everglade gritted his teeth. If there was thing he'd learned about Blue Hedgehogs, was that they were both stubborn and defiant as hell, giving up never an option. He couldn't wield the Jewelled Scepter, but if the could activate it enough to kick start the mighty Sorcerer, for him to take over, it was worth a try. Blaze nodded, agreeing, as Everglade closed his eyes, concentrated hard, muttering a deep incantation under his breath. He put one hand out towards the Jewelled Scepter and the other on Sukko's chest. The Blue Hedgehog still deathly still, eyes closed. The Skunk opened his eyes, them glowing bright yellow, his powerful ring working hard, Everglade pushing the Magic as hard was he could, as yellow hue exploded for his hands. He screamed. But the pain from the drain was excruciating. He growled, and gritted his teeth even harder. He roared.
"Come on, Sukko!" He roared.
Finally, it happened.
Suddenly, the Jewelled Scepter began to glow bright white just as the entire room exploded with bright blue luminescent vaporous hue, that swirled all around them, which quickly thicken, producing vivid blue lightning strikes everywhere. Everglade let go, and fell backwards, only to be pulled to safety by Blaze. They all watched in awe as it happened. The miracle. Suddenly, Sukko's body was lifted off the ground, but heavily dangling down as the Sorcerer's incredible Magic took hold. Driven by the Scepter, suddenly, a see-though bright blue illusionary image of a second Blue Hedgehog exploded out of Sukko, hovering right next to him. He was also out cold, clearing lying on a sofa, his white gloved hands by his side, his cherry red shoes, with their famous red stripes clearly visible, still and calm. Blaze gasped, her hand over her mouth.
"Sonic!" She squealed. She was correct. He too was in a bad way. She ran forwards and grabbed the base of the Scepter, her forehead against it's large shaft. She closed her eyes and prayed.
"Save them. Please." She begged. Normally this wouldn't have worked, but the twins had Chaos Sorcery, a Chaos Power known to the Jewelled Scepter and could be wielded by it. It heard her.
Suddenly, the power increased exponentially as the Jewelled Scepter took control. Blaze backed away as the two Hedgehogs began to swirl around, as the powerful relic dived deep into Sukko's incredible Magic, searching and finding what it was looking for. The one thing the Sorcerer could so, and it couldn't.
Heal.
Suddenly his eyes snapped open, them glowing a vivid bright blue, as plumbs of Magic exploded out his hands and all around him and his brother. Suddenly the bleeding stopped, the cuts and bruises fading. The Sorcerer long black coat repaired itself and soon the he was moving and twitching, as he was slowing beginning to come too. The same was happening all around his twin, but whereas here everything here was still and calm, though Blaze didn't know for how much longer, she saw through Sonic's illusionary image, that the Blue Blur was healed, himself too surrounded by the deep blue Magic, it caused outright panic back on Mobius. It was revealing him as a Sorcerer, which was still highly illegal, which Blaze knew wasn't entirely true but the Mobians didn't know that.
She could subtly hear screaming, and Blaze knew that Sonic only had a matter of minutes before the Mobian Authorities arrived and he would be killed, and killing the Blue Blur at this point, with the Jewelled Scepter between the powerful twins, would kill the both of them. She could see people begin to file in behind the still unconscious Blue Blur. Finally, the mighty Sorcerer awoke, him sticking up his head, and righting himself in midair. He felt incredible. He had no idea where he was but the magnificent Magical relic next to him had completely restored him, as though he'd slept for several weeks. He was back to full strength. He felt strong, powerful and majestic, flexing his hands, with a wide smirk on his face, as the Chaos Sorcery flowed through his veins. But Blaze screamed, pointing up at his brother's still visible image. She panicked.
"Sukko. Sonic's in trouble." She squealed. Sukko looked up, and immediately flew for the Scepter, her scream snapping him out of his temporary trance, placing his hand on the shaft. He gritted his teeth and concentrated, as the ancient relic's power caused Sonic to finally awake with a start, rapidly sitting up, only to narrowly be avoid being grabbed from behind. Suddenly his Static Electricity exploded as the Blue Blur absolutely panicked, an everyone desperately tried to capture him, all the while avoiding the dangerous electricity. His friends, the Mobian Authorities, they were after him and he just ran for it. Blaze screamed again, as she saw Sonic confused as to where to go.
"Sonic!" She yelled, and finally, across dimensions, a voice could be heard. Instantly recognising it, he immediately turned in Blaze's directions and looked down, and then to the side and finally to his brother. The wind swirled around the Jewelled Scepter, so hard, that it gusted, as Sukko clung on the ancient relic. The band in his quills slipped out and his royal blue long spines began flapping all around his head and face. But he ignored it as he gritted his teeth, desperate to maintain the control. He was wielding the Jewelled Scepter, which he had the mental strength to do but was seriously struggling to maintain it. He didn't have physical core strength to keep the relic's almighty power under control. Sonic smirked, his bright blue illusionary image running straight for them and towards the Scepter. He could. Suddenly, he threw his hands around the shaft of the Jewel Scepter and immediately it's deep purple hooked point exploded with bright white lightning, which rapidly expanded to show the dark blackness of the cosmic universe itself, it brightly pitted with beautiful white stars.
Everyone ducked for cover as the twins, concentrating hard, beautifully worked together to perfectly wield the Jewelled Spector and access the Power of the Stars. The force that ensures the existence of parallel universes. But because they weren't in the deep underground altar in Deep Core underneath Southern Island, they couldn't actually change or do anything within the parallel universes, just observe. It was forbidden, plus they didn't want to. But they were desperate for just one thing. One wish. To be reunited once again. They had fought so hard, sacrificed so much, that they just wanted to see each other again, and be safe.
Suddenly, Jewelled Specter sent out a stream of light and grabbed Blaze, taking the Sol Emeralds from her person. The seven rectangular Power Stones suddenly whirled all around the shine, and then suddenly sent out an enormous tornado of fire, all around them. Blaze was horrified. She'd never seen anything like it, not believing the two could be wielded together, but then she suspecting, they weren't. It was the Jewelled Scepter doing this on it's own. She knew what the twins wanted. What they had asked it for and only the Sol Emeralds could bring him home. So she let them go. But as the Fire Tornado of the Sol Emeralds arrived, the method used to travel between dimensions, it vanished. In fact, all the Magic and power instantly dissipated and suddenly Sukko was seen stood on the floor of the shine, still holding the shaft, having landed.
Opposite him, also stood holding the shaft was someone incredibly dear to him, finally here in the flesh. He was looking extremely white, and suddenly his knees buckled beneath him, as all seven of the Sol Emeralds lay all around him. Sukko ran for him.
"Gotcha!" He cried, grabbing his brother before hit the floor, finally his twin in his arms. Sonic only just still conscious, squealed in delight as he hugged his twin with everything he had. An embrace like no other. They nuzzled and rubbed foreheads, absolutely delighted to be finally together again. Suddenly, both their glowed blue as their unique Psychic Link, finally fully opened up. It exploded. Now in the same dimension, they could see and hear each other again, and Sonic, unable to taken the emotions, completely overwhelmed, just cried his heart out on Sukko's shoulder.
Blaze, Everglade and the guards just all stared, their jaws dropped. The twins were finally together, and yes, they were absolutely identical. The bond between them extremely strong. Sukko looked like Sonic, sure, but to actually see him side-by-side with his brother, was just incredible. The same black noses, bright green eyes, royal Blue fur and quills, except for the their long length on Sukko, but that were entirely environmental and the same triangular ears. The enormous grin on Sorcerer's face said it all, but an almighty explosion, just outside the shrine, shattered this moment of bliss. Sukko growled, as he put his brother down, only for Sonic to collapse again. He hissed.
"Everglade, take him." He ordered, but the Skunk just stared. Sukko's long quills were completely down, for the very first time, and he looked very different. His quills were so long that the two front spines, either side of his head, fell forwards over both his shoulders, and the rest fell beautifully all around his back. Exactly like an Echidna's dreadlocks. He was absolutely stunning, but Sukko just heaved, rolling his eyes. "Everglade." He snapped again, only for, this time, the Skunk to finally obey, running over and taking the Blue Blur over his shoulder, propping him up. "He's in no fit state for fight. The transportation here, along with him still not being fully recovered for the final fight against Eggman, had left him severely weakened." He smiled. But Everglade looked worried, but Sukko sighed. "He'll be fine. He just needed time." He heaved, as he grabbed another band from his the inside pocket of his coat, which was stuffed full of them and tied back his quills again, but he was immediately cut across by Blaze as she gathered up all the Sol Emeralds. She hissed.
"But it's time we don't have. The Order of Elden are here." She growled, as the entrance was finally blown to pieces with bright red Magic, as the corrupted the thirty strong Wizards of the High Order poured into the shrine and down the narrow purple path. They had definitely felt the Magic here. It was a bottle neck, they were trapped, as Blaze planned on standing her ground, but as Everglade and Sukko saw, they were still gravely outnumbered, even with all the guards, as deep crimson Magic started flying all over the placed. They ducked for cover. Blaze screamed, rounding on everyone.
"We can't let the Order of Elden get the Jewelled Scepter." She called, as Everglade still holding Sonic, grabbed his brother. This was no place to fight, it was suicide. He panicked.
"Sukko, get us out of here." He ordered, of which Sonic immediately nodded. Blaze's eyes widened, wondering how they were going to achieved such a feat, when suddenly she was immediately grabbed by Everglade'd free hand with the other holding up Sonic. The Blue Blur, still clinging on to the Wizard's side and arm, threw his free hand out onto the shaft of the Jewelled Scepter. Sukko ran in, also grabbed the shaft and both the twins concentrated again, asking the Jewelled Scepter to lend them it's power. It acknowledged. Both the Blue Hedgehogs activated their teleports. Sukko, with his Orbing carried himself, the Jewelled Scepter, his brother, Blaze and Everglade, and Sonic with his Chaos Sorcery Teleport, expanded out it's range. It was Sonic's turn to control it the Magic, and wow, it was really powerful. But Sonic had no time to marvel, as concentrated to expand the Magic out to include everyone. He felt the presence of everyone there and using Sukko immense power, as well as the Jewelled Scepter, he locked onto every single one of the guards. He screamed as he pushed himself hard to activate his one and only Chaos Sorcery cast, Teleportation, and giving absolutely everything he had, a blinding flash of bright blue light and an explosion of beautiful white Orbs, beautifully together suddenly absolutely everyone vanished, to the complete confusion of the Order of Elden. Sukko lead the way, Sonic obediently following, and instantly traveling right across the Sol Empire, they finally landed, somewhere now very familiar, and to Blaze, home.
The Palace.
Everyone crashed landed in the courtyard, the second flash of blue light and bright white Orbs announcing their arrival. Everglade faired better with this Orb, and Sukko landing perfectly, but was struggling with the crushing weight of the Jewelled Scepter, swearing at it, as he failed to keep it aloft, as it fell to the floor of the courtyard. No longer on the altar of the shrine, it no longer held itself upright. Sukko was left heaving, throughly unimpressed, until suddenly he heard his name being called. He was Everglade. He panicked.
"Sukko!" He yelled, as the Sorcerer, just left the Scepter where it was and ran for the Wizard. Everglade was crying, the Blue Blur out cold in his arms.
Sonic was down.
