Note:the backstory mentioned in this story is all cannon and happened in the LN and there is a very big spoliers to some characters fate, you might finde it hard a little to understand what is happing if you didn't read the LN because this fanfiction story take a place after volume 19 in the LN
Finally after a long Battle between us and the vanguards the victory was ours.
Naofumi can't help himself but thinking that the group they fought was just a small part of the vanguards real power.
But at least he and his allies were manage to save Melromarc from distortion.
"Naofumi-sama are you with us?" raphtalia said
"ah, sorry raphtalia I was thinking of something, the important thing are you okay? Do you need rest? Anything? Just sa-"
"Naofumi-sama im fine you don't have to worry about me im not a child" raphtalia said
"if you say so"
"master im hungry!" Filo said
Naofumi Pat on Filo head "don't worry soon the king well make us great banquet to celebrate our victory, right trash?"
The old man was catch me off guard by the shield hero question but He answer quickly
"yes of course shield hero anything you want"
Naofumi could tell that king trash was thinking about something else in his mind.
But of course he understand what is that thing, his daughter Malty S Melromarc the witch she is also part of the vanguards even though she didn't interfere in this Battle at all, Mostly because she didn't recover from all the torture rino gave her.
Right now we are waiting for her to show up we know she is here in the end that was the reason why the Vanguards attacked Melromarc in the first place their Leader wanted revenge after rino tortured the witch.
His thought were interrupt by the shadow that appeared out of nowhere "my king the witch was found injured and cannot move they found her in the shipe the vanguards came in what should we do with her?"
Trash look like he is about to broke after Hearing about his daughter's critical condition but he collected himself after a second" bring her here and throw her in a cell Tomorrow she will be ex..executed"
"as you wish" the shadow said and then disappeared
After few hours we were waiting for the guards to bring her, all my allies is here.
My party and the all the other heroes, melty was standing beside her father, motoyasu was playing with Filo, Ren standing alone, ITsuki laying on the wall with rishia beside him.
Then the door open.
The guards appeared between them was the witch they were holding her from both of her arms the rest of her body was dragging in the ground the witch didn't seems to resist at all.
Judging by the way her legs all covered in a blood it's mean that she paralyzed in her legs and They dragged her the whole way mercilessly, part of the skin on her legs is very damaged.
As I looked to the others I noticed that the king barely holding himself together because of the cruel scene.
Raphtalia looked away, Ren and ITsuki were a little shocked they definitely didn't expect the witch to have all these Injurys motoyasu is not even with us he just focusing on Filo.
On the other hand Rino was smiling at the witch condition because she is the one that caused her all this when she tortured the witch.
Then the guards throw her in the ground in front of us.
Despite all the injuries that the witch sustained, she was able to push herself up with her hands.
When the witch finally was able to balance herself with extreme difficulty.
She looked at us.
And everybody was shocked from the scene.
Half of the witch face was deformed and her hand and chest and most of her body were all wrapped in Bandages.
Trash colesd his eyes and melty looked conflicted sad and angry at the same time.
Understandable since she is looking to the woman who killed her mother but also she is her sister.
All of sudden Rino start laughing hysterically she pointed her finger at the witch.
"look at yourself bitch your perfect face you always was proud of now it's gone! And im the one who did that!hahahaha!" rino said
Everybody start giving rino a weird look obviously wandering what is wrong with her.
But then the smile on rino face was slowly disappeared as she is looking at the witch.
When I looked to the witch again her face was...Emotionless.
She didn't seems angry or sad or anything she just looked at rino with no Emoticon.
Rino was obviously upset by that.
"any way bring the slave crest now before this bitch say a word" rino said looking at trash he nodded.
"bring us the slave crest" he ordered one of the guards.
"as you wish my king" the guard said.
Then they brought the slave crest melty took it and stepped in front of everybody and start walking to her sister.
The witch didn't seems to be surprised by that at all melty reached to her sister and remove some of the bandages from her chest so she could put the slave crest.
After she was done she took a few steps back and looked into the witch eyes.
"as your master now I command you to only speak the truth"
The witch still didn't show any emotion.
"so big sis any last words before your execution?" melty said
"I don't have anything to say to you little brat" the witch said
Melty face turn angry "at least show some regret to what you did to our mother!" melty shouted
"Regret why? What did I do to her?" the witch said.
"what?! You..you killed her!"melty said
"NO I DIDN'T" Malty said
Then after few Second of silnce melty looked just as confused as everybody in the room, because the slave crest didn't punish malty is that means she is telling the truth?!
"how is that possible!" Ren said
"we all saw her we all were there!" raphtalia said
"relax everyone she is playing with words that all"rino said "she didn't kill her with her own hands that why she is basically telling the truth"
"Oh..right...So that how you want to play sister?"
"then witch are you the one that planned to kill the queen?" melty said
"NO" the witch said
"w-what! is that thing is working what is going on?!" melty said
"I didn't plan anything the one who wanted to kill the queen and did was tact" the witch said
"but you are the one who made him do that!" melty said

Melty looked confused at what the witch just said but she shooked her head and left her fan to cover her face.

Okay this is new for everyone this is the first time we saw the witch this calm.
The witch turned her eyes on trash still emotionless.
Trash was clearly nervous by that he was trying to not look in his daughter eyes.
"Father" the witch said
Trash still didn't make eye contact with the witch.
"father look at me!" the witch shouted suprising everybody in the room.
"Why?" the witch said.
"the king have nothing to s-" before melty could finsh her sentence the witch Interrupted her.
"Why father? Why from all people why? After all these years you supposed to be the only one in the world who really understand me, so why did you turned against me?!"
Trash looked shocked by what his daughter just said.
"m...malty Im sorr-" the witch Interrupted him
"Dont give that sorry bulshit!" the witch shouted
"if you were really sorry I wouldn't be in this situation right know! So tell me the truth why?!"
"m..m..malty you crossed the line with your actions" trash said
"well did I have a fucking choice!" the witch shouted

Naofumi himself was feeling his anger increase.
"shut the fuck up bitch you don't get to play the victm here!" naofumi shouted Pointing his finger towards the witch.
Then the witch looked at him.
"ah.. Right shield hero I see you still love to play the victm role" the witch said
Naofumi could barely hold himself from wanting to kill the witch in this moment.

"Unfair you say? H...Hahahaha!"the witch start laugh sarcastically.

Her expression turned into a serious and angry expression.
"let me tell you what is really Unfair"

Naofumi himself wanted to say anything but He couldn't finde any words.
"all of you are the same you just want to play the heros role but when you do bad things there is always someone to justify your actions right?"
"but when malty do it No no no she is a monster an evil witch and you guys are the good heros right?" the witch said.
"shut up witch don't you dare to compare us with you! We are nothing like you" Ren said.
"that true" the witch answered.
"huh?"Ren clearly didn't expect that answer.
"unlike all of you Im not a hypocrite at least I admit Im not a good person" the witch said.
"how dare you we are justice you are evil!"ITsuki said.
"oh? Justice you say reminde me again where was your (justice) when all of you Watched tact woman and sisters get executed when they didn't do anything wrong?"
"What...that was a different situation" ITsuki said.
"see! Again justifying I told you all of you are hypocrites" the witch shouted.
"you bitc-" before ITsuki got to say anything the witch looked back at her father ignoring all of us.
"And you father are the worst of them all!" the witch shouted.
"you know it's Ironic that I have more respect to my mother than you father at least that woman didn't even hide that she hated me she told when I was a child that she doesn't consider me as her daughter"
"But You!"
"you lied to me for more than a twenty years! Twenty fucking years of pretending like you Actually care about me!" malty said.
"malty I do car-"
"Lies! All of it is a lie!"
The witch looked in her father eyes with pure anger and said.
"Say it! Say it you coward! Say you hate me!".
"no my dear I don't hate you"
"so you choose to be a failure for the rest of you life! Admit you coward! Admit that you failed this family just like your other one!" the witch shouted.
"I...Im sorr-"
"that all what you know right saying sorry?! What your fucking Apology going to do?!
"Im going to die" the witch said as tears Started falling from her eyes.
"Im going...to die and you...could stop this you...could save me! But here you are standing doing nothing but being useless!
The witch was crying as she saying all this.
" I thought you were the only one who really understand me the only one who know everything I'v been through! But I was wrong" the witch stopped crying after that and looked at her father eyes.
"YOU are no different from that Whor of a mothe-"

Melty slaped the witch before she Finish her sentence obviously because she didn't want her to insult her dead mother.
However from melty face it's clear she regrets that decision as she saw her sister fall and hit the ground straight on her face.
Melty clearly because of her anger forgot that her sister can't move her legs and was barely balancing herself on both of her injured weak hands.
"wh..what sister Im" melty dropped her fan conflicting of Wherever she is supposed to help her sister get up or not.
The poor girl obviously didn't think a simple slaps could do that to her sister.
All if sudden melty fall on her knees in front of her sister and broke into tears "why is this Happing to our family why! It's all my fault if I was never born an-"
To Everyone suprise the witch moved both of her hand trying to balance herself again and despite her hands are shaking she was managed to balance herself again.
Her nose was bleeding from the fall she just had
Then she reached on of her hand to melty head forcing melty to stop crying from the unexpected move
Normally in a situation like this we would attack the witch but we all know she can't be a threat in her current state.
The witch moved her hand gently on melty head "melty you did nothing wrong" the witch said calmly
Melty was shocked of what is Happing right now "huh?" melty said as She wipes her tears
"Dont blame yourself you are just a child, you didn't ask for any of this our mother is the one who put the throne responsibility on your shoulder, and I didn't do any better I tride to kill you more than once even though you didn't do anything wrong I know it's to late now" the witch said tears fall from her eyes "but I want you to know that Im sorry"
Melty opened her mouth to say anything but closed it again not knowing what she is supposed to say.
"you don't have to say anything now little brat" the witch said with a gentle smile on her face "when you get older you will understand all this for now just remember our mother death it's not your fault and even my death tomorrow it's not your fault"
"enough of this heresy the witch is playing by your feeling!" rino shouted
"king trash Her Majesty is clearly exhausted and the witch taking advantage on this so I ask you to send the witch to her sell before this situation is evolves!" Rino demanded.
Trash looked at her and closed his eyes took a deep breathe and nodded.
"guards take the witch to her cell" trash said.
"yes your majesty!"
the guards took the witch and got out of the room.
After that they all went to bed After a good banquet hosted by the king melty didn't came with us.
Naofumi tried to sleep but he couldn't get what the witch said out of his head.
That was the first time he saw the witch show this kinda of emoticon he always thought she was just an evil women and that it, but the things she said he couldn't deny it the slave crest was on her and didn't Shock her that means all what she said was true.
It's not like that justify all her actions... But now he can't look to the witch by the same way anymore especially after she apologized to melty.
He wanted to say what rino said that it was just her playing with her sister feeling...But no he knew that wasn't acting the witch already accepted that she is going to die She wanted Forgiveness from her sister before she die that all.
But what he really hate in that entire situation was the moment the witch started to say all the Unfair things that happens to her.
He didn't like that Because when she was saying all that he saw something he didn't like at all.
He saw Himself.
The same hatred the same anger he felt when he was first summon into this world.
NO! dont feel sympathy towards her.
He reminded himself yes it was too late for feeling anything towards her now she hurt so many people he will let the justice do it's thing.
The next morning came and all the heroes and there companions and king trash and melty all of us were in the middle of the Melromarc the place were the execution going to happens.
Naofumi himself and the other heros were given a chair beside each other next to the king and our companions were standing beside us.
There is a hug crowd of people surround the place were the witch is going to hang on stake that was Shaped as cross.
Just like the dark days from his world when they burn woman because they thought they were witchs.
People were already collecting stones to threw on the witch.
After few minutes the guards appeared with the witch walking between them.
Well not really walking She barely able to walk there was Two guards With spears they used the spears under the witch arms so she could walk.
When the crowd saw the witch they started to insult her by calling her a
"Slut!,bitch!,witch! " and alot of other bad names.
The witch didn't seems to care about that at all she was just walking with out any expressions on her face.
But there was something weird with the way she was walking despite the dirty clothes she was wearing that look like a slave clothes and all the names the crowd were shouting.
The witch was walking with her head up like she is...proud? Or she was looking down on the crowd well I guess she is still have her own pride as a princess.
Naofumi could hear trash talking to himself in light voice so no one hears him.
"My beautiful daughter brave even in the end aren't you"
Naofumi can't tell if trash noticed that he heard him but it's don't matter any way.
But He do agree with trash on this one naofumi never thought that one day he will have Respect towards Malty from all people because even in this desperate situation malty still have her pride to herself.
She wasn't just a witch or an evil woman even in her last moment she still reminds people she is.
Malty S Melromarc the first princess of Melromarc kingdom.
After they hang the witch on the cross shaped woodn stake.
A priest walked and stand in front of the witch and he pulled out a paper or something like that and start reading it loudly.
"Malty S Melromarc Also known as the witch in your last moment do you have any last words or regret about your actions if you do say it maybe your punishment in the other side will ease"
The witch looked confused from the priest for a second
"last words you say hmm... Yes I do have last words!" Malty said calmly but also loud so the crwod could hear her.
Then the witch left her head to the sky and took a deep breath the crowd all went silent to hear what the witch final words is.
Then with the loudest as her voice can get said.
"ladies and gentlemen of glorious Melromarc! My last words for you is!"
"See You in hell!!"
After that sentence for a few minutes there was no voice heard from anyone the Entire kingdom was shocked until one man from the crowd screamed.
"kill the witch!" and just after him the entire crowd start to say the same.
They start to threw stones on the witch as the first stone hit malty in her face causing a bleeding.
Naofumi could feel his heart beat uncomfortably fast his breath became heavier as the other stones start to hit all malty body the blood was everywere what made it worse that malty didn't screams or anything she just looking at her father with desperate eyes...eyes that lost all the hope in humanity.
"that enough!" trash shouted making the crowd stop throwing the stones
"bring the fire arrow lets that be over" he Command one of the guards
"y-yes your majesty!"
Trash didn't even look his daughter in eyes anymore it's clear he will broke if he did.
"h-hey...H-Hero"
All of sudden naofumi world was gone everything that was happening in this moment all the voices from the crowd his Vision to the world becom black he couldn't hear anything.
All his attention was towards the woman that was dying in front of him Malty.
She looked at him with all the blood that was falling from her body to the ground her lips was barely moving as she was trying to say something to him.
And with a very light voice she said.
"is this f-fair?" then she closed her eyes.
Then his sense was back to reality as he saw the the fire arrow heading towards the malty.
"A-["Air Strike Shield!"]"
He screamed making a shield appear in front of malty stopping the fire arrow from hitting her.
"Stop!! All of you stop!!!" naofumi shouted
["Air Strike Shield!"] naofumi body moved on his own making a shield in front of him he jumped on it and jumped to the air again ["Air Strike Shield!"] again another green big shield appeared in the air.
naofumi did that four time until he was able to be as the same hight where malty is he Immediately untie it her hands.
Then he was carrying her in his arms in a bridal carry position he jumped to the ground and didn't take that much of damage do to his high defenses.
"rishia! Ren ITsuki all of you bring the best healing potions you got, trash Command all the church healers to come now!!"
Trash and the rest of the crowd were all in shock from what just happened even naofumi himself is suprise by what he is doing right now.
"y-you heard the shield hero do is he say!"trash shouted
Ren and ITsuki came running with rishia he could see in their hands a glowing bottles of potions.
Ren Kneel on one leg beside him in his hands were all the potions.
"I don't know what happening but this is our [legendry potions] this is the best we'v got you better have a good explaining after this"
"Thank you" naofumi said he took the potions from his hand and started to put it in malty mouth after he adjust her position.
He give her the first one her body start glowing the blood starting to Disappearing from her body.
Naofumi open the second one and made her drink it.
Now that potion was the real thing it made all her Wounds and scars disappear including her half deforming face it was back to normal.
Naofumi smile when he saw her face without the scars or the blood anymore she was still unconscious.
He was about to open the third potion but He felt a hand on his shoulder it was rishia.
"Naofumi-sama more than two legendry potions will destroy her body".
"that is a thing?!" all the three heroes said at the same time.
"yes but don't worry Im sure she will survive" rishia said looking at the church healers that just arrived.
After about an hour the church healers were exhausted one of them said.
"alright sh-shield hero she should be fine now you can take her to the castle" the healer said as he was breathing heavily
"Thank you"
Naofumi looked at trash he was still confused of the situation but he have a little smile on his face.
Melty on the other hand was on the ground crying raphtalia was holding her he could hear her say "Thank you".
Yes he definitely made the right choice.
Malty POV
Where am I?
What is this place?
Im falling.
But where am I falling?
It's feels like an endless void.
Did I die?
The crowd the screams the pain...yes I died.
Is this hell? Is this is my punishment? Forever falling in an endless void.
Alone Forever again always alone.
Malty could feel the tears slowly falling from her eyes

Malty got out of bed and tride to walk and to her suprise she actually can walk!

Malty stopped when she looked at her hand all the scars that was on them were no long there.
Malty immediately went to see her stomach and when she left up the simple dress she was wearing... It wasn't there.
The awful scar from rino sword when she tortured her wasn't there it's like her body back before she even becomes an adventurer when she was still princess.
Malty walked to her mirror so she could see her face and as she expected all the scars from rino torture were gone her face was back to normal.
Now that she noticed that she was wearing a simple white dress that was barely holding in the chest area the only thing that was holding her chest from exposing was a little black button.
Malty was confused by the weird design of the dress it wasn't like the dress's on She used to wears it was obviously what the farmer woman wears.
That made her upset a little bit she moved her chest a little and The button Pop off easily from the drees it was barely holding anyway.
Malty felt more Relieved as she let her chest cool off she looked to the blue sky from the Balcony that was in her room that place used to be her favorite she used to sit there at night reading her romantic novels.
she felt a feeling that she forgot long time ago she felt like she was Home
She walked to her balcony as she reached the end of it she couldn't help but to smile at the beautiful view that she knew very well even after all these years it's still beautiful as ever.
The balcony overlooked to a beautiful garden that she and her friends used to play in when she was still a child we used to do a little tea partys here.
But that didn't last to long anyway because after my mother took the right to the throne from me all my friend parents didn't allow any of my friends to meet me obviously the main reason they agreed to

She met her when her mother send her to
Faubrey academy because she didn't want her to at home Letsy was basically malty perfect match both of them were annoying brat's that caused problems all the time.
Letsy always didn't care if malty was in the right or wrong she was always by her side because just like malty considered letsy her only one true friend letsy feel the same.
Malty could feel her smile disappearing when she remembers the last time she saw letsy before she...DIE
"it was my fault... If I didn't drag her to my problems she would be alive right now"
Letsy sacrificed her life to save me I still remember that moment just before I die She managed to save me but she died instead of me it was in one of the Battles between me and the shield hero.
Malty can't even cry on her one and only friend death not anymore because she cryed until her tears is all gone.
Malty still remember that night when she was still with the vanguards she was sitting crying alone Meanwhile the others were laughing at her... Well what did she expect they were the scum of the earth she only Join them for their power to make sure she still safe from her mother assassins she send after her or all the heroes that wanted to kill her after she betrayed them.
The only thing she can say to her friend now is "rest in peace"
Malty heard the sound of her room door open she looked at the person who is was entering her room only to be shocked to see that it was the shield hero.
"naofumi! Wh-"
All of sudden malty Instinct told her to jump of the balcony to ovide getting killed by the shield hero.
So she did she jumped without any plan.
"w-malty wait!" the shield hero shouted
Before malty complete her fall she felt the strong Grab of the shield hero catch her from her hand.
"jeez, who do you think you are BATMAN?!" naofumi said
Then before malty could react the young man pulled malty up easily almost if he wasn't even trying.
Malty catch of guard by the fast he pulled her back to his hand she let out a little scream "KYAA!"
Naofumi pulled her to his chest and carryed her in a princess position malty awkwardly wrapped her arms around his neck so she balance herself.
Naofumi start walking to her bed and he put her down gently on it.
Malty felt very confused of what is Happing in this moment she looked at the hero face waiting for an answer.
Then the hero looked at her and looked away fast as he Scratch his hair awkwardly with his hands his face become red
"y-your breas- I mean chest!" naofumi said stuttering
"Oh" malty just realized her chest was exposed she felt her face becom red as she quickly grabbed the Blanket on the bed and wrapped it around herself.
She looked back to the hero in front of her he brought a chair and sit on it
"so? W-what is going on?" malty asked
Naofumi let out a sign and then looked at her and start to explaining what happened
After few minutes he was done.
Malty wasn't sure of what she is supposed to feel about the situation from one side she is still alive from other she have no idea what is she supposed to do now.
"so you saved me because Im like you?" malty asked
Naofumi backed off from the chair a little and start looking at the ceiling
"Malty Im a selfish person" naofumi said
"I know that" malty answered
Naofumi looked back at her with a little Shock expressions
"what? it's not that hard to tell" malty said
"No I...Most people react differently when I say that" he Shocked his head
"anyway yes the reason why I saved you is because I saw myself in you so yeah you can say Im one of those people who think the world go around them" he said with sarcastic smile on his face
"hmm... At least you admit it" malty said

Then both of them looked at each other for a second and start laughing at each other.

"Nothing I just...can't believe..Im still alive..its just...to good to be true" malty said as tears started falling from her eyes

"I see" naofumi said as he reached to malty he pulled her into a hug

Malty was surprised by the hug but she just return it and Continued crying at his chest.

After few minutes malty finally calm down
"so what are we doing now?" malty asked
"well first of all let get you some clothe and after that you will met your sister" naofumi said
"okay but I need to take a bath first" malty said
Naofumi stand up and walked to the door "okay I will tell the maids that you woke up they will gave you everything you need" naofumi said
Naofumi was about to get out of the door but He stopped all of sudden he looked at her with a serious expression.

After that malty spent the rest of the day talking with her sister and walking in the beautiful garden for now melty let their father taking care of things alone today.
The next morning malty woke up on the maids sound telling her it time to wake up
And they brought her armor and all her stuffe.
Malty woke up and took a bath and then weared her armor and put her sword on her waist that was the same armor that she made naofumi buy it to her when she first met him.
She walked out of her room and walked to the royal family dining room when she reach it she saw that her sister was already waiting for her

Okay so Maybe you wandering why did I choice this character to make a fanfiction of? And my answer is
First : because she is the most interesting character in this series she is the main reason why I read The LN i just wanted to see what is going to happens to her
Second : because i feel bad for her because she is just keep getting tortured and humiliated all the time.
And I want to discuss the way people think about this character they always say she is "evil for no reason" or "evil for the sake of begin evil"
And im not talking about people who only watch the anime or read the Manga im talking about the people who read the LN
First of all how is she is evil for no reason?
That just wrong there is a lot of reasons why she do what she do now some people say that she is like this because "her father spoiled her" and that is part of the reason but not the main reason why she is twisted
The reasons
1-her right to the throne was taken from her by her mother and was giving to her sister even though she is the first child even though she was spoiled her mother didn't even try to fix Her behavior she just had another child and used malty as political tool
2-her mother always preferred her sister over her and didn't give her the Attention that any child need from his mother which caused her to be angry all the time
3-the main reason why she manipulate people is because her mother send her to Faubrey academy and there tact took advantage of her because she was still a stupid girl who didn't understand how relationship work on the other hand tact was a smart guy who slept with alot of girls and know how to play with his words and he give malty the attention she was missing in her childhood to get to her pants and of course malty fall for this and when tact took her virginity he just dumped her and goes to sleep with others girls and that made malty more fucked up mentally and physically than she was already is
4-that is the most important reason that people always ignore for some reason.
She was forced to marry the pig king that is known that he kill and Rape 9,999 woman and treat them as nothing more than a sex toys and malty was supposed to be his ten-thousandth "toy" and by the way her mother was the one that wanted to make her marry this bastred and she did that before malty betrayed the heroes even when she still didn't betrayed anyone SO from the beginning malty fate was desided by her mother, so what do you expect her to do? Sit and wait her inevitable death? Of course not she will use everybody to escape a fate like this.
