Chapter Fourteen – Forget Me Not

Blaze rested her head on the wall, and took a deep sighed. It had been a long night, it still wasn't over yet, and suddenly, she growled and stormed over to the others, who seemed to look at her terrified. Rouge gulped.

"Who was that?" She stammered. But Blaze just sighed, smirking. None of the knew. Sonic had literally told no one. She beamed.

"Sukko." She grinned, but then she got cut across by Vector. His eyes widened.

"Your Magic guy. The back up." He stammered. "But you said he was one of yours, but he's a Hedgehog, and they're not native to the Sol Empire. He's Mobian." He gulped. The word 'Magic' sending enormous fear though all of them. So much so that one of them ran away, extremely frightened. Out through a crack in the wall behind them. No one noticed. But Shadow frowned. He was still extremely unsteady on his feet, panting heavily, with the both Rouge and Espio holding his up. He looked up and sighed.

"That power, he has. I know it. It was he who released me, wasn't it?" He heaved. Blaze nodded. But then Shadow just smirked. "The fact that looks like Sonic is no coincidence, is it?" He asked. Everyone looked back at Blaze, all of them having noticed it too. But she threw up both of her hands. She heaved.

"Yes, he is one of mine. He's earned it, and you'll find out the truth in due course, trust me. You'll see." She sighed, rolling her eyes. "But not here. Please we have to leave, now." She added. But Vector just frowned.

"Why?" He asked, but Blaze just rounded on them.

"But Sukko is going to do a planet wide cast that is going to engulf everything, and unless you want to caught in it, I'd suggest to come with me." She growled, as she activated the Sol Emeralds on her person, creating the Fire Tornado that transports between dimensions. She growled. "Now." She added. Suddenly, someone began banging on the door of the warehouse. The Mobian Authorities was trying to get in. Suddenly, Blaze panicked. "Quickly." She added, as terrified, one by one, they ran for the tornado.

Sukko was shivering. He was stood atop of the highest mountain on Mobius, so it was no surprise he was cold. But he was in tears. He was keen to get out of there. He heaved, glad to be away from those ogling eyes of his brother's friends. He despised being stared at, and liked crowds even less. But he knew he'd have to face them. He sighed. Fine, but on his terms, not their's. He teleported to the safest place he knew. Home, and when he landed, he was expecting a stunning Penthouse Suite, with hours of time and money having been poured into it. But he found a completely deliberated and horrendously blacken burnt out shell. The roof had collapsed in, and the were rainwater everywhere. The windows were smashed and the front door caved in.

The Sorcerer's heart plummeted, looking around, now hating Mobius more then ever. Only now had he realised that the Magical seal of the apartment, had failed as soon as he'd left Mobius. Active Magic can't survive across dimensions, and so soon as his brother's cover was blown, and the Mobian Authorities went on the war path against Chaos Sorcery, the Penthouse was the first to be hit. It had been completely ransacked, everything of value stolen and then, out of fear, it had been set alight.

All of the twin's achievements, his Medical degree, Sonic's land speed record. The Blue Blur's awards, and musical instruments. Photographs of the pair, were all gone. Destroyed, he suspected, but he didn't really know for sure. He cried, now truly realising there was literally nothing left for him here anymore. Suddenly, walking forward, he clinked something against his foot. He bent down and picked it up. It was circular in shape, a metallic disc that was twelve centimetres in diameter and about a centimetre thick. It had a slide at one end, for a tie or ribbon, but that had long burned away. He was heavily blacked, until Sukko cleaned it off and suddenly, it made him smiled. A Bronze Metal.

For years, up until recently, Sonic went to Earth to complete in the Olympic Games, and won many metals, mainly Silver and Gold. This was his only Bronze, and Sukko suspected that because it was the reason it was still here. It had little to no monetary value, but to the twins, it had hugely sentimental.

It was the only metal Sonic ever won in the pool. The Aquadome. He couldn't swim well, if at all, and Sukko put hundreds hours of training into him, to get that metal. He was so happy, so delighted to have finally made the podium, that Sukko couldn't even remember who won the race. But that didn't matter, he'd done it, as the Bronze Metal was still proudly engraved with his name and 'Swimming'. All the others counted for nothing compared the effort he put into this one. Sukko beamed and then pocketed the metal, before taking a long deep sigh, looking around. Time to leave.

Back on the mountain, He walked up the very highest point, and stood atop it. He looked down on the cold, clear planet, that he knew he'd never see again, that is if he survived. He raised his hands above his head. Tears fell down his head. He knew doing this high level of Telepathic cast on the population of Mobius was wrong. But he couldn't think of another way to solve the problem. His brother always believed in freedom of choice, and viscously fought for it, downright objecting when Sukko Telepathically took that away. Mind Control. It upset the Blue Blur horrendously, and Sukko hated it. Even Sukko changing slightly a person's perspective was not permitted, as far as Sonic was concerned. They must have freedom to choice with exactly what nature gave them. Sukko was not allowed to intervene. Mind reading and conversations only on the Telepathy, thank you very much. Sukko sighed. He was not going to like this. He sniffed.

"Forgive me. Sonikku." He cried, and concentrating hard, he threw his hands with his fingers clawed out in front of him, and his eyes glowed bright blue. Suddenly, a ball of light appeared between his hands and it grew rapids. Sukko gritted his teeth, and pushed the Magic extremely hard, groaning, his eyes screwed closed. He pushed his Telepathy hard into the cast, as well as the distance technique he'd recently learned. Suddenly, the ball reached his finger tips, but he held it in place, as he pour yet more power into it. He dug down into the deep depths of the gut, to find the power for this cast, as he struggled to maintain it. Finally, he began to pulsate, with horizontal white lines expanding our form the centre of the ball of light.

Violently shaking, it still wasn't enough power, as he pushed even harder and his body began turning a vivid pale blue and his coat, a stunning silver. He screamed, with the intense pain and concentration, as he developed the cast to do dedicating as he wanted and finally he let it go. It exploded from his hands, almost throwing him off his feet, but Sukko stood firm, desperate to see this through. Suddenly, bright white horizontal lines pulsated out from the bright blue magical Orb, and with the height Sukko had, at the top of a mountain, as the Illusionary lightning began to fall, the cast went global.

Wave after wave of extremely powerful Magic, pulsates all around the world, and every living being was immediately caught with his enormous Telepathic trance. Everything stopped, as Sukko wiped and rewrote memories, hacked archives, retold books, and changed history. Mobius was never going to be the same again. The Sorcerer screamed with the horrendous pain, desperate to see this cast through. He may have hated Mobius but not the people. He wanted a better life for them.

One without him.

Roaring hard, Sukko gave everything he had, all the Magic left in the tank gone, and then at the very last second, before he collapsed deep into darkness, he turned the Magic on himself and with an enormous flash of bright white and purple electrical sparks, the mighty Sorcerer vanished.

One by one, Blaze sent Sonic's friends to the Sol Empire. Each Fire Tornado transporting one person at a time. She sent them to the Sol Empire and then restarted back on Mobius, leaving the very last Fire Tornado for her. Vector and Charmy had gone first, followed by Espio, with the plan to catch Shadow the other end as he could barely walk, then Silver, to help. Cream and Vanilla were next. Finally this left Rouge, who looked around, now somewhat panicked. She squealed.

"Hey, where's Amy?" She cried, to confusion from Blaze. The Fire Tornado was burning ahead of them ready for the next person, the Sol Emeralds rapidly using up their powers. Blaze quickly looked around, the female Hedgehog was nowhere in sight. She'd completely gone from the warehouse. She panicked, realising she have to make a judgement call.

There was banging behind them. Someone was trying to break down the doors. The Mobian Authorities were trying to break in. Blaze screaming, struggling to maintain the Fire Tornado. She spat at Rouge.

"Leave her." She ordered. But the Bat objected. She gasped.

"What?" She gulped, but Blaze just glared at her. She screamed.

"Leave her." She said again. "We don't have a choice." She growled, the she grabbed Rouge very roughly by her wing and threw her into the Fire Tornado. "Now, go." She spat, as the Fire Tornado, vanished, taking the Bat with it, safely to the Sol Empire. She felt it land the other side, spin up then die away.

Finally, her turn. But the Sol Emeralds were badly dimming, barely enough energy left for one last Fire Tornado. But she had to. She couldn't be caught in the cast, the Magic of which she could feel rapid come towards her. She screamed, out of panic, revving up the Sol Emeralds, mainly with her own core strength, and created the Fire Tornado. Alone, and only barely able to stand, she dived for it, just as the first wave of Sukko's incredible cast hit, and she immediately activated the transport. Within seconds, she hit the ground hard, the flames dying away, only barely conscious. She crashed to the ground. All of her energy, and those of the Sol Emerald completely and utterly drained.

They were dead.

Thankfully, not permanently, they would recover, just like her, but it could take months. Until then, they were trapped in the Sol Empire, with no idea of knowing if the mighty Sorcerer's cast on Mobius had worked. All Blaze could now do was pray and hope it did.

Suddenly, she was being shock, but very familiar green eyes surrounded by royal Blue fur. Extremely dazed, she stared, frowning.

"Sukko?" She questioned, only to be immediately corrected. They panicked.

"No, it's Sonic. Blaze, you made it back, but where's my brother?" He asked, desperate for news. But she was so dizzy, what she couldn't think properly. Everyone was still standing around having passed through the Fire Tornados and were now staring at the Blue Blur, even though they were all delighted to see him again. But everyone gasped.

Brother?

But then Sonic looked around again and panicked even further. He screamed.

"Hey, where's Amy?" He stammered, but Rouge cut across him.

"By the time, we were leaving, she'd gone. We had to leave her behind." She shrugged. But Sonic roared, violently shaking a still very dizzy Princess on the floor. He gulped.

"Blaze, what happened?" He squealed. But suddenly, he was immediately throw backwards, high into the air, landing some distance away from Blaze, by bright yellow luminescent vapour-like hue, of a powerful Magic cast, emanating from a ring. Everglade was muttering under his breath, clawing his fingers, his eyes glowing brightly, transfixed on the Blue Hedgehog. He was fuming, extremely angry.

"Back off." He roared, the instantaneous panicking of everyone there. Everglade them stormed up to Blaze, as Sonic and his friends immediately backed off from him. He growled at them.

"Welcome to the Sol Empire." He spat. "We do things very differently here." He hissed, bending over and seeing to his beloved Princess. Blaze was still lying on the ground, heavily drifting in and out of consciousness. Suddenly, the Skunk Wizard, muttered under his breath and further streams of bright yellow Magic, concentrating around his ring, it then flowed into Blaze, restoring some of her strength. He couldn't heal her but he could ease some of her tiredness. Sonic stared, gulping.

"What's happening? Where's Sukko?" He demanded, but Everglade just rounded on him, but gave him a slight bow out of respect. He heaved.

"I don't know." He sighed. "He didn't tell me. Your brother came to me asking for help with a Magical technique. To cast at distance. He said he required it for the prison break, and to fix Mobius. But he never told be how he exactly intended to do that." He stammered, finishing the cast and sitting back. But then someone suddenly spoke behind them, having now sat up, recovering very quickly with the Wizard's Magic. But she was heavily panting. She heaved.

"He told me." She hissed, as Blaze steadied herself sat in the ground holding onto Everglade's shoulder. "I wouldn't have helped him, if he didn't." She smiled. "That's the rules around here." She sniggered, and then she sighed, hanging her head down. She sniffed. "He never told you Sonic, because he'd knew you'd object. Badly. He know how much you hate him using his Magic to manipulate the mind. Telepathy. But he didn't have a choice. Chaos Sorcery was the driving force behind the persecution of the Chaos Creatures on Mobius. The only way Sukko could foresee, and in the end, I had to agree, of immediately fixing it, was to remove the Chaos Sorcery from Mobius, literally. To do a Telepathic cast so strong, so powerful that it engulfed the entire planet. To remove the Chaos Sorcery from everywhere. From all living memories, archives, manuscripts, books, records, you name it. To forget everything. The Mobian Authorities won't hunt down Chaos Creatures if it forgets, and physically can't remember, why they were chasing them down in the first place. Everyone captured should be freed. But this cast came with a heavily price tag. The last Sorcerers on Mobius." She sighed. Sonic gulped, tears running down his face. He was shaking hard.

"Us." He stammered. He and his brother were indeed the last of their kind on their home world. Blaze nodded.

"Yes, Sukko has completely written both himself and you out of the history books. With a planet wide cast like this, Sukko couldn't be specific. He couldn't separate out the Hero of Mobius out from the Magic so it was everything or nothing, and your brother took everything. I'm sorry, Sonic, but now no one remembers you. As far was Mobius is concerned now, you and Sukko never even existed. That's why I pulled you all from Mobius and brought you here. If you'd stayed then you would have been caught as well, forgetting everything and I assumed you didn't want that." She heaved, herself in tears, but Knuckles was gobsmacked, shook his head, they all did, but then he realised something. He gasped.

"Hey, what about Eggman?" He frowned. But Blaze giggled.

"I may have mentioned to Sukko that it was actually Shadow." She paused, indicating the Ultimate Lifeform, who looked up. "Who took the final blow against Eggman." She smiled. But Shadow nodded, somewhat confused.

"Yes. So what?" He hissed, rather coldly, not really caring. But Blaze giggled.

"Well, with now Sonic having never having existed, it is Shadow that is celebrated as the mighty Hero who defeated the tyrant." She laughed. "You will be Hero worshiped." She grinned to an Ultimate Lifeform who looked as though he could have exploded.

Everyone there knew, including Blaze, that Shadow was no hero, and absolutely despised with a vengeance, anyone calling him such. His body became surrounded by a deep red aura and his eyes glow a deep crimson with pure anger. He rounded on Blaze.

"Change it back." He spat. But Blaze growled, very defensively.

"I can't. In order to remove Sonic the history books, someone had to take the blame for Eggman's defeat, in order for the history to line up and therefore the Magic to work. Sorry, it had to be you." She giggled. "And who says a Sorcerer doesn't have a sense of humour." She smiled. The thing was, he did, and it was superb. Shadow growled is utter frustration. But Blaze just glared at him. "You don't have to go back to Mobius, you know. You can stay." she added, and then she looked up at them all. "You all can. It will take several months for the Sol Emeralds to return back to full power, enough for me to send you back. Unfortunately, we won't know until then if Sukko's cast was truly successful." She admitted. She smiled and held out her hands for a hug from Sonic, who he accepted. The embraced, which the Blue Blur crying into her shoulder.

He was desperately torn. To use such Telepathic Magic on people was so wrong. Sukko had effectively removed some of their freedoms of choice, but by doing so, he'd saved thousands of lives. He removed the illegality of Chaos Sorcery on Mobius, by literally removing the Magic. It never even existed. Now, absolutely nobody knew such a Chaos Power had even involved, and in the end, now finally Sonic had to admit, Mobius was now a better place for it. Chaos Sorcery had caused so much trouble, even though the twins had done nothing wrong, that Mobius, indeed, was simply better off without it.

To restore peace and a better future for the planet. Especially, was far as Silver was concerned. But then Sonic looked up, realising something.

"But what about Amy?" He frowned. "She would have been caught in the cast." He wondered. But Blaze growled.

"Yes, and your brother is a total git." She spat, to a confused look on the Blue Blur. "He knew how badly she had been treating you, but rescued her from the prison, because thats what he'd promise you. But when we got to the warehouse, I guarantee he saw her there, and did something with his Magic, to seriously scare her away. I saw it in his eyes. So when I came to leave, I wasn't surprised she wasn't there. Sukko wanted to make absolutely sure she would be caught in the his Telepathic cast." He hissed. "Amy will now no longer remember you, and I have to admit, I agree with him, it's for the best. Your brother has put his foot down on this one, I'm afraid. She wasn't good for you." She heaved, and Sonic nodded, biting his lip. He was shocked, as he did still like her, but also they were right. She wasn't good for him at all.

Knuckles was heaving, still gobsmacked that anyone even had the power to do such a thing. He frowned.

"Wait." He pondered. "If one of us was to go back and start talking about Magic, won't that break the cast?" He asked, stammering, but Blaze just laughed, finally getting to her feet.

"No." She smiled. "Sukko had so heavily written Chaos Sorcery out of Mobian culture and history, that do you think that anyone will actually believe you." She giggled. She had a extremely good point. Then she deeply sighed. "Like I said earlier, you are all free to go back if you like, once the Sol Emeralds have their power back, but if you do, I'd seriously suggest you keep the Magic to yourselves, for safety's sage. All of you can leave, but Sonic, unfortunately, has to stay. He can't go back. He could compromise the cast too much if he did. I'm sorry." She added, looking to the Blue Blur.

Sonic also got to his feet, and nodded. After everything that had happened, he wasn't surprised. He heaved, turning it all over in his mind. After a very long pause, finally, he came to a decision. He sighed.

"To be honest, I don't want to go back. If I can't go back, then neither can Sukko, and right now, I just want to be with my brother. To be together. I know that Telepathic cast was wrong, but if it works and he does create real peace on Mobius, then i'll forgive him." He smiled. "Throughout the whole of the war against Eggman, which has pretty much our entire lives, we were always apart. I was fighting the Human on the front line, and Sukko was backing me up, in whatever way he could. Either as the super-secretive powerful Sorcerer or a highly skilled Doctor with his incredible ability to heal. Anything I needed." He beamed, then he heaved very heavily. "But to tell you the truth, I wouldn't have defeated Eggman without him. The real only reason why we got to that final fight in the first place, which lead to Shadow ultimately taking out Eggman, was entirely down to Sukko." He giggled. The utter irony of it was unbelievable, as he friends just looked at him in utter gobsmacked astonishment, all of them finally working out the truth of what was going on. That Sonic and Sukko were indeed twins. Blaze just couldn't believe the utter cheek of the almighty Sorcerer. She rolled his eyes.

"So Sukko is the 'real' Hero of Mobius." She giggled, of which Sonic, jokingly grabbed her mouth, he grinned.

"Shh." He smirked. "Your not supposed to know that." He smiled. "He's a power behind the throne, like no other. But take it himself, no way." He spat. But Blaze just beamed, removing Sonic's hand. She seen that power herself, and now fully understood the instant loyalty she received from Sukko, as well as his incredibly cheeky attitude. She sighed.

"Let me guess, the King of Stealth wouldn't have it any other way." She grinned. Sonic just nodded and giggled, but then suddenly, they were interrupted by Arthur.

Everglade had stayed with the group, listening into the conversation but he was becoming extremely worried. So much in fact that he outright panicked when the Wolf pup came running towards them at full pelt. The Skunk ran out to meet him. He panted.

"Arthur, report, please." He asked, in desperation. "Any sign of him?" He gulped. The Wolf pup just ran into his arms, and cried, shaking his head. Everglade sniffed.

"No!" He cried. But Sonic frowned, running up to the pair.

"Hey, guys. What's going on?" He asked, genuinely confused. But Everglade grabbed him, tears streaming down face. He cried.

"I swear I did the calculations. Sukko was supposed to fix Mobius and use that Inter-dimensional portal generator to come home again. Due to the slight dimensional differences, he should have landed here a short time after the Princess. I suspected he'd be in a very bad way, so I sent a search party out to look for him. But Arthur's just reported back and the his time slot has been and gone." He stammered. "I'm sorry. There's nothing." He cried.

Sonic when white, as the colour drained from him. Then his entire world shattered into a million pieces. He dropped his knees, in utter despair to be immediately hugged by everyone. He cried his heart out.

His brother was gone.
