It was a simple event put on by the people of Atlas; a showcasing of jewellery, relics, old weapons and other items that were secured by the Kingdom, namely the Schnee Dust Company. Several students of Beacon Academy had been invited, so they mingled with the Atlesian Academy students and the wealthy elite of Atlas; who had come to watch their items. One particular display had garnered the attention of a certain Faunus student, who was dressed in a fine black v-neck dress stared at a necklace in a glass case. Her eyes were marred with fury and sorrow.
"It's pretty" the girls partner a bewitching blonde young woman admitted. The Faunus looked at her partner and sighed, her cleavage threatening to spill out of the brown and golden strapless dress she wore. "So...how come out of everything here, this caught you eye?" she asked before looking at the dark haired Faunus. "Look Blake, I know some of these items are from Faunus families and cultures, but Ironwood is taking a great deal of care with them. He even brought in special Faunus guards" the blonde pointed out.
"That's the thing Yang, there are Faunus relics here, but this one...this one belonged to my family. For generations this necklace was passed down from father to son marking them as the protectors of the Faunus," Blake started to tell Yang. "The last one to wield it was my grandfather in the dying days of the war." Blake paused to take a breath "And he did, he guarded Menagerie until his dying breath. After that...the original White Fang was formed to continue where the mantle of the protect left off, while trying to unite humanity and Faunuskind" Blake sighed.
"I see" Yang replied sipping her drink.
"Ah I see you've taken an interest in this piece" a curator said
"Yes, it reminds of my grandfather" Blake said acting in a flirty manner. "Where did it come from?"
"This piece was given to Nicholas Schnee for safe keeping. The one who gave it to him was a previous chieftain of Menagerie, Oumbra something" the curator said looking at it.
'Umbra Belladonna' Blake thought with a sense of sadness
"How much is it ?" Yang asked curious.
"Oh several hundred thousand Lien" the curator said
"Wow" Yang said
"It's a Schnee family treasure after all" a stern voice added.
"You're Winter right, Weiss' older sister" Yang said "I'm Yang Xiao Long"
"Quite I've heard of you, a brawler who enjoys partying, maintain her hair and being overly motherly to her younger sister" Winter said before turning to Blake "and Miss Blake Belladonna, the current Chief's daughter. So that was your grandfather's necklace" Winter indicated
"Yes, I must admit seeing it here among Atlesian objects is quite a shock" Blake stated
"Don't worry, it's quite safe" Winter smiled, just as the lights went out.
"A Blackout?" Yang asked
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" a voice boomed making all the guards immediately go for their weapons as several White Fang soldiers walked in, and leading them was the one team RWBY had dubbed Bane. "WE ARE HERE TO DO TO THESE TREASURES, WHAT THEY WERE DONE TO THEIR ORIGINAL OWNERS!" Bane declared.
"Over my dead body" Winter frowned drawing her sword and pointed it at Bane.
"Please, try I would love to snap a Schnee" Bane chortled
"Oh, the pleasure will be mine to prove you wrong" Winter smirked. Blake was worried when she saw a member of the White Fang that was wearing a high collared cloaked and a mask similar to her old mentor's.
"Yang, cover your ears" Blake said
"What why?" Yang asked worried
"Just do it" Blake said covering her ears as Yang did the same thing, just before a loud high pitch sound was sounded before all the glass display cases shattered
"What was that?" yang asked shaking her head
"That's Nocturne. A bat Faunus who was a sonic scream like Semblance" Blake frowned as Nocturne went around picking objects up. Pulling out a cord of rope with a weight on the end, Blake snagged her grandfather's necklace and quickly got it into her hands.
"Blake!" Yang started
"I'll give it back, once the protector of the Faunus has dealt with the White Fang, but there's a problem" Blake frowned slightly.
"What?" Yang questioned.
"I need a place to change," Blake informed her looking around.
"Well...the lights are out. Head over behind the staircase!" Yang pointed to a pitch black area.
"You sure?" Blake asked
"Yes, now go!" Yang pushed Blake into the shadowed area.
"Weiss is going to kill me," Blake said removing her dress while pulling a bandeau top out to support her bust before putting the necklace on and paused. "Grandfather, guide my hand" she said tapping the middle triangle.
Winter was knocked back several times while Bane was using his massive chainsaw to try and carve into pieces.
"Time to die Schnee Bitch!" Bane roared as he knocked her to the floor.
"ENOUGH!" a voice shouted as a figure in black body armour landed in front of Bane, making the hulking Faunus paused and step back
"The Black Panther" Bane gasped
"Who?" Winter asked as the Black Panther flicked her hand out making claws appear.
"So, that was what Blake was talking about" Yang said as many of the Hunters were in awe while the civilians were cowering.
"So tell me Black Panther why are you here, protecting those who have taken what is not theirs!" Bane shouted
"I am not here for the trinkets, I am here before you are threatening the people!" Black Panther declared
"So be it" Bane said as he clicked his fingers making the White Fang soldiers surround The Black Panther, creating a ring so she could escape.
"Seems like a fair fight" she smirked under her masked as she flexed her fingers.
The White Fang seemed stunned as they carefully kept an eye on where the Black Panther was standing, each one of them adjusting the grip on their weapons. Shifting her left foot slight Black Panther leapt towards a deer Faunus, who gasped upon seeing the super hero in face. Acting quickly she brought up her Antler like Pincer weapon to block the kick, giving a Fox Faunus enough time to pull out his twin guns and shoot at the heroine, sparks coming off of her suit as the bullets harmlessly, spinning quickly Black Panther slashed at the gun turning it into three pieces that hit the floor making the Fox Faunus look down in shock before looking up only to see the fist of the Cat themed hero coming at him, dodging to the left Black. Suddenly she was knocked into a pair of Ape Faunus who had spears.
"Those are Sonic Spears, meaning you've been the Menagerie" Black Panther scowled
"We did indeed go there" Nocturne said bowing
"So what chapter are you from?" Black Panther asked as she stood up and caught the leg of the Deer Faunus, flinging her into a Turtle Faunus. Smirking Nocturne pulled out you war fans and flicked him out, then connecting them you his arms so they could act as saws. Swinging widely Black Panther jumped over them and did a round house kick into Nocturne's back. The Bat Faunus snarled as he turned toward her. Thinking quickly she bolted up into the shadows high above.
"What a clever kitty, hiding in shadows. That would usually prevent humans from finding you, only we are Faunus! We have a natural gift they don't, helping us...sees they can'. Also with my bat ears gives me incredible hearing" he chortled walking the room. "So! I know where you are, you think the shadows can hide you, but there is where you are wrong" Nocturne smirked while taunting "And as you've clearly seen, we have sonic weapons! Meaning that your enhanced and delicate hearing. Something you use as an advantage will be a weakness just like my semblance Screech" he informed her.
"Tell me something, how can you hear, what erases sound" Black Panther chimed out as she jumped across the room. Her footsteps silent as a still night on the ocean. Nocturne tried to listen in becoming unnerved by the quietness. Black Panther landed behind him and slowly activated her claws. Upon the sight of Nocturne turning around she leapt over him and landed in front of the Ape Faunus and took them out. Breaking the spears. Growling the Ape White Fang reared their fist back, throwing them; only to be caught by the hands of the Black Panther. Who leapt behind them and kicked the right Faunus into the left Faunus Looking to her left she saw Nocturne lunging at her with a small combat knife which she side stepped, bringing her knee up to strike the attacker's wrist and spun into a kick hitting his gall balder. She was going to go in for another strike to the torso when Winter was flung into her.
"Weak little girl" Bane scoffed.
"White Fang scum," Winter coughed as she stood up holding her side. Her sword was shaking in her had.
"You think that they are the main sauce of your pain" Black Pnather growled as she stepped forward.
"They have caused hundreds of us to suffer in their mines, using us as basically SLAVES!" Bane roared "Well, no more, soon we will be on top of the food chain" Bane announced "And they have given us all we need. And soon, so will you as I take the legacy of the Black Panther, and turn it into the symbol of the White Fang's Liberation!"
"Not happening" Black Panther muttered as she ran at the brutish Faunus, leaping at him, the impact of her feet on his chest shot him backward. 'Got to look into that' she though before dodging the massive chainsword.
"YOUR CLAWS!" Winter shouted.
"Huh?" Black Panther asked, looking at them; seeming to get what Winter hinted at. She swung at the chainsword, slicing its blade as it was wet tissues. Bane looked nervously at the pieces of chain and metal on the floor. He looked up
"Mercy?" Bane asked as Nocturne was behind Black Panther inhaling about to use Screech
"BEHIND YOU!" Yang screamed. In a flash the Black Panther had rounded on her prey and punched his throat, looped her knee around the throat and using her personal momentum threw Nocturne into the ground just before the lights flickered back on and the guards were on the White Fang in mere moments. Standing up the Black Panther looked at the Atleasian Soldiers had them gathered up and were arresting them
"Thank you" Winter said nearly collapsing. Black Panther moved in and caught her quickly.
"Hey, you better get going" Yang informed the hero, taking Winter.
"Thank you" Black Panther nodded as she leaped up and out of a window. Looking back as she ran off, hoping to get back inside and changed into her dress.
Ten minutes later Blake was walking back in, her dark metallic purple heels in her hand as he bow was barely in place
"Stupid bow" Blake muttered before she felt someone adjusting it. "Thank you" Blake sighed turning around to see Winter smiling at her.
"You're quite welcome" Winter replied
"Here" Blake said pulling the Panther's necklace out of her purse. She handed it to the specialist "You modified the claws?"
"Grandfather did. He figured that the next Black Panther should he or she," Winter started "Ever need to use it, then there would be ways to equalise the playing field. The Kinetic Energy Release and enhanced claws were two of the ways of doing so" Winter said
"I see" Blake said "Just keep it safe" she stated as she saw Winter place it in a Necklace packaging box and went to walk off
"It will be" Winter said holding the box out.
"Me?" Blake asked, shocked at the fact she was being offered it
"While it wasn't much. Tonight's demonstration proved that, the world is getting more dangerous, and with that comes threats the average Huntsman and Huntress cannot handle with training, aura and semblance alone" a voice said. The two women looked at the source of the voice and saw that it was General Ironwood.
"General Ironwood?" Blake asked
"Hello Miss Belladonna" Ironwood nodded
"What did you mean?" Blake questioned.
"You'll see in time, but for now please head back and enjoy the rest of the event" he smiled.
"Yes sir" Blake simply said.
"was that wise sir?" Winter asked
"Perhaps" Ironwood shrugged.
What no one noticed that during the event a figure slunk around in the shadows; the person could clear be mistaken for human, if not for the fact her hair, skin and eyes were all blacked out. She frowned at the sight of Blake walking back into the event
"One day Blake" she said standing up "You will get yours whether you are the new Black Panther or not. After all they say that a cheater cannot change their spots" she snarled holding a green stone carved into the head of a big cat. "But I can, so enjoy it while you can" she said walking off. "Because there will come a time when you will be begging me for mercy!" she said vanishing into the night.
G'day Guys Grizz here and here's something I bet you all would never though you would see, me doing a Black Panther fic after Wilderness of Wakanda; well I've been wanting to do a Blake Black Panther fic. Now majority of the ideas I had would have been a remix of the final episode of Vol 1 (one of my personal favourites!) Then it slowly changed to this and of course what with the hype for Wakanda Forever I figured I would do this along side the art commission AlineSM did for me of DeviantART did of Blake as the Captain America Civil War Black Panther (which is great, seriously go and check her artwork out guys and girls!)
Now this is a One Shot unless you guys like it or I get more ideas from Blake Panther story ideas, heck I might do other Marvel/RWBY crossover projects. You never know
