"Neal Caffrey?" Elizabeth asked, noting the frown on Peter's face as he studied the open file and photos.
"Yeah. I just don't get the kid. Use to be you knew it was his work because he left no clue. One moment some priceless item's there and the next, poof, gone. Like he's some sort of David Copperfield. Now I think he's deliberately being caught on camera – base jumping, zip lining, and this latest, paragliding! He's careful. He ensures it's never enough to nail him, just enough …"
"For you to know it's him."
"Yeah. He obviously knows the cameras are there, so why be caught on camera at all?"
"Sounds like a cry for attention."
"We think his girlfriend left him, maybe he's trying to impress her, win her back."
"Maybe. But I think there's someone else he's trying to impress, whose attention he craves."
"Who?"
"You Hon. Tell me, who's more likely to see those photos. His girlfriend or you? And I bet tonight there'll be another 2am follow-up phone call."
"That's just him on an ego trip. Bragging."
"Or making sure he's got your attention, which seems to me he has." Smiling sadly, Elizabeth added, "sometimes more than me."
