School has ended for the day and I was packing my things. Right when I was ready to head out, a hand caught my arm.
I look up to face the owner of the hand. It was no other than the guy who kindly defended me at lunch today.
"Do you have any plans?" Eunwoo asks.
"No." I shake my head.
"Great, how about we go grab a bite. You must be hungry since you didn't get to eat today at lunch."
"Oh… I don't have enough money on me."
"Don't worry about it, food is on me." He smiles.
I couldn't help but smile back. His smile is contagious.
"Well alright then."
We both leave the classroom. We stop by the lockers to take off our indoor school slippers, putting them away and grabbing our outdoor shoes and putting them on.
We close our lockers then walk out the school. We both remain quiet for a short moment when my stomach decides to break the silence by grumbling in hunger.
Eunwoo let's out a laugh.
"What? What's so funny?" I ask. "You think my starvation is hilarious?"
"No. It's not that."
"Then What is it?"
"I think it's cute."
'Cute'?
I suddenly hide my face with my hair, having a feeling that it was going red.
"We're here." We enter the restaurant.
We take a seat and look at the menu. Then a waiter comes by to take our order.
"Everything look so good, I don't know what to order." I say. "Can I just have what you're having?"
"Two bulgogis in an earthen pot." Eunwoo orders our dish.
The waiter writes down our order. "And what would you like to drink?"
"I'll have a lemonade." I say.
"Two lemonades." Eunwoo says.
"Okay, I'll be back just a moment with your order."
"Okay thank you." Eunwoo kindly smiles.
Why does this feel like a date? Here he is , a handsome guy inviting a girl out to eat and he's paying!
Unfortunately, I'm aware that this is not a date. He's doing this out of the warmest of kindest of his heart.
Wait, why am I upset at the fact that this isn't a date! No! I can't have these thoughts! He only sees me as a friend and I should see him as a friend too.
"I'm sorry about how I reacted at karaoke last night." Eunwoo interrupts my thoughts.
"It's Fine, I'm the one who should apologize for peeking in in the first place."
"Why did you peek in the karaoke room I was in?" He asks out of curiosity.
"It's kind of embarrassing… I was on my way out when I heard you singing. I was drawn by your voice so I followed the sound of your voice then I found you." I say in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry I mistook you for a creeper." He apologizes once again.
"No it's alright, I would have reacted the same way." I smile softly.
"So do you like singing?" Eunwoo asks.
"Oh I love to sing, but I never sang in front of anyone before."
"Would you sing for me?" Eunwoo asks. "Not Today but some other day."
"Yeah, I guess."
"I'll sing for you too." Eunwoo says.
The waiter arrives with our meal and we eat. We go our separate ways once we finish eating and head on home.
I take a shower and get ready for bed. I think about Eunwoo on how different he turned out to be. I thought he would be mean and scary but he's actually kind.
I misjudged him. I'm glad we're in the same class. On top of it all, he's my first friend I ever had in a while.
One thing I cannot get my mind though is when he called my stomach grumbling 'cute'. Or when he wants me to sing for him and he'll sing for me.
Could he possibly be into me? Ugh! What's with the mixed signals, Eunwoo? Who am I kidding? He'll never be into a girl like me.
