Ruby yawns as she wakes up. She had a new dream. She felt her stomach growl and headed for her kitchen. She pulled out a plate of cookies and some milk. She snacked on the before hearing her door being knocked on. Finishing her milk, Ruby went to answer it.
"Yes?" She asked, opening it.
She was surprised to see Winter and Ironwood standing at her door.
"Ms. Rose?" Ironwood asked.
"Yes?" She said, still surprised.
"May we come in?" Ironwood asked.
Ruby steps aside, letting them in. Winter looks around, fully aware that she has been on her own since she turned 12. It wasn't much, but she had enough to get by.
"Can I get you two anything?" Ruby asked.
"No, thank you. We won't be here long," Ironwood said.
"Then what can I do for the GRIMM Forces?" Ruby asked.
"We have two things we need to talk about," Winter said, confusing Ruby more.
"First off, what you did was reckless, but you did save Schnee Family and we thank you for that," Ironwood said, causing Ruby to blush.
"Well, I wanted to help. I didn't want to rush in without a plan." Ruby said, rubbing the back of her head.
"However, I'm afraid we have to confound your items," Winter said, surprising her.
"WHAT?!" Ruby asked, shocked.
"It's not right for a civilian to get involved with dangers that must be handled by the Maverick Hunters or the GRIMM Forces," Winter said.
"But, but," Ruby tried to speak.
"We won't do anything toward the way you're living, but we can't allow you to get involved with anything else," Winter said, starting to look for her armor and weapon.
Ruby was about to try and explain her reasons when the news came on.
"This is an important update, the State Prison was damaged in the attack and it turned out a few inmates have escaped in the chaos. The Police have asked anyone if they have seen these human criminals to stay away and call them."
Ruby's eyes widen when she saw one of those inmates was her father! Knowing that he will come looking for her, she couldn't stay here.
Ironwood also saw the news and knew this was something he couldn't ignore.
"Ms. Schnee." He said, stopping her near the door to Ruby's workspace.
"Yes, Sir?" She asked, turning away from it.
"Some inmates have escaped prison. A few we put there ourselves." He said, making her nod.
"We'll come back after this is over, Ms. Rose," Ironwood said, turning to Ruby.
"Please do not leave the area," Winter added as they both walk out.
However, Ruby couldn't stay. Not with her father on the loose. She didn't want to know what would happen if her father found her. Not to mention how much she looked like her mother! She ran to her workspace, putting on her armor and grabbing her weapon. Already knowing that some of the GRIMM Forces were watching her home, Ruby open a secret trap door under her floor and jumps in, closing it as she did so.
Meanwhile,
Wiess stood in front of the Maverick Hunter Base, her mind long made up. Her mother understood her reason and gave her permission. Wiess sighs before walking up towards the doors and knocks.
"Can I help you?" A Reploid asked, seeing her.
"I wish to speak with the leader of the Maverick Hunters," Weiss said, surprising him.
"I'll let Dr. Cain know." He said, turning away.
"Allow me."
Wiess was surprised to see Zero walking up, noticing her.
"Zero!" The hunter said, surprised.
"You're Weiss Schnee, yes?" Zero asked.
"I am, and you're Zero," Weiss said, holding out her hand.
Zero shook it before asking the question that was on his mind.
"What do you need to see Dr. Cain for?" He asked.
"It's a matter I wish to discuss with him," Weiss said.
Zero nodded. He let Weiss enter the base, telling the Hunter to inform Dr. Cain about the guest. Weiss follows behind Zero, noticing how calm and collected he was. Reminded her of her sister.
"Have you had any luck with tracking down the Maverick that did this?" Weiss asked.
"Not yet. His base is a bit more tricky to find than we thought." Zero said, making Weiss think.
"Here we are." He said, snapping her from her thoughts.
"Thank you, Zero," Weiss said, seeing him nod.
Weiss enters the room and saw the doctor that her father tried to stop from making Reploids. Dr. Cain was a kind man and someone Weiss always wanted to meet.
"Welcome, Miss. Schnee." He said, surprising her.
"You know who I am?" She asked.
"Of course, you look very much like your mother." Dr. Cain said, smiling.
Weiss looks away, surprised he knew her mother.
"Now is there something you wish to discuss?" He asked, making her look back at him.
Weiss took a breath and said the words that surprised Dr. Cain.
"I wish to join the Maverick Hunters."
Blake sighs as she's finally far away enough to say out of the White Fang's radar. She could now travel with looking over her shoulder for a few days. Plus, she had to get these plans to the Maverick Hunters. But she might have a problem with that. The White Fangs were considered Mavericks in their own right. But she had to do this. If she doesn't then things would turn out far worst than it already is. It was already bad enough that the new leader of the White Fang was thinking about joining Sigma and that was something she wasn't going to let stand.
"I really hope I'm doing the right thing." She said, sighing.
She knew where the Maverick Hunter Base was and she wasn't going to stop until she gave the plans to them. However, Blake didn't notice that someone was watching her. Someone that couldn't believe she would betray the White Fang.
"Don't think you're getting away, little kitty. I have a surprise for you once you reach the Maverick Hunters." He said, watching her.
Dr. Cain looked at Weiss, surprised. He soon gave a small chuckle, confusing Weiss.
"Is something funny?" Weiss asked, trying not to get upset.
"No, No. For you see, you're not the first Human that wishes to join the Maverick Hunters." He said, remembering a little girl that came here 8 years ago.
"So, what the matter?" Weiss asked.
"Zero informed me about your family company, and I'm aware that you're chosen to take over after your sister joined the GRIMM Forces." Dr. Cain said.
"With the company going under repairs, I'm not going to be able to take over. In fact, I turn the offer down." Weiss said.
"You did?" Dr. Cain asked, surprised.
"I don't see the point in owning the company anymore. Not after what my father did." Weiss said.
"I see, and your mother?" Dr. Cain asked.
"She gave me permission to join you," Weiss said.
Dr. Cain leads back in his chair, thinking about it. From the looks of it, Weiss didn't look much like a fighter, but he knew not to judge people from their looks. After thinking about it for a few more seconds, he nodded.
"Very well, I will allow it. However, you will not be active on the field." He said.
Weiss was surprised he agreed to it but was also confused on why he wasn't going to let her out on the field.
"Is it because I'm human?" Weiss asked.
"No, my dear. I can tell you are a brave and smart young woman, but sending you out without training or a means of protecting yourself is not something I would do. I hate to report to your mother that you were killed on your first day in the field." Dr. Cain said.
Weiss nodded, understanding his reasons. She did want to help others that had the same feeling that she had when their reploid friends turn Maverick.
"Dr. Cain!"
They both turn to see a Maverick Hunter rushing in, looking a bit worried.
"What is it?" He asked.
"A group of people are fighting outside the base. Our watches stated that two of the people are White Fang Members!" He said, surprising Weiss.
"I see, is anyone dealing with it?" Dr. Cain asked.
"Yes, Zero is trying to break up the fight, but I'm not sure if he can handle it alone." The Hunter said.
"I'm sure Zero is up to the task. Now then, Miss. Schnees." Dr. Cain said, looking back at her.
"Weiss, Dr. Cain." She said, still a bit worried about the fight outside.
"We still have some things to discuss. Please, have a set." He said, smiling.
Outside,
Blake was surprised to see her former teammates appear out of nowhere just as she reach the Maverick Hunter Base. They order her to return the plans and come back to the White Fang Base. She refuse and they tried to take her by force. However, Blake wasn't going to down without a fight.
And it turns out the fight did something she was hoping for. It was then stopped when a Red Reploid stood in front of her, causing the two Members to flinch back.
"It's Z-Z-Zero!" One of them said, knowing he wasn't someone to mess with.
"C-C-Crap! We need to get out of here!" The other said, knowing they stand no chance against him.
They quickly turn and ran. Zero sighs before turning to Blake.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yes, I'm fine," Blake said, standing up.
"Why were they attacking you?" Zero asked, knowing that White Fang members don't attack people.
"My name is Blake Belladonna. And I'm a former member of the White Fang." She said, surprising Zero.
"Former?" Zero asked.
"Yes, the leader of the White Fang is thinking about joining Sigma's forces but I want no part in that," Blake said, pulling out some computer chips.
"These are the plans and locations of the Mavericks that the White Fang have." She said, handing them to Zero.
Zero looks at the chips. Surprise she had the one thing they were trying to find. He was surprised again to see Blake hand over her weapon before raising her hands.
"I also know I can just walk away after the things I did. I might as well turn myself in." She said, causing Zero to sigh.
"Alright." He said, having her walk to the base.
Blake made no move to escape. She completed her mission. That's all that matters.
Okay, stopping here. Winter and Ironwood found Ruby and came to collect her armor and weapon before a prison break force them to leave without it. However, Ruby couldn't stick around. Her father had escaped and she had to get away before he find her. Weiss had decided to join the Maverick Hunters as well, but she needs to go under some training first. And you guys can think of Blake as an early version of Axl from Mega Man X7. As for Yang, she's still a bit a ways from the others, but she'll show up soon.
However, I hit a few problems. I have no idea how I'm going to get Ruby to follow X to the areas the Mavericks are. Since, unlike X and Zero, she can't teleport. I'm not sure if she will get upgrades or copy the weapons of the Mavericks like X does. I am, however, open to ideas. And yes, I start with Chill Penguin first, too. And to answer a reviewer's question, I haven't decided how Aura would play into this story. Again, I'm open to ideas.
